ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:Kinesio taping has been widely used as a means of sports protection,but its role as a means to correct abnormal biomechanical changes of the lower limbs during side-step cutting remains unclear. OBJECTIVE:To analyze and compare the changes in lower limb kinematics and dynamics when the subjects complete the side-step cutting of the knee joint under the conditions of kinesio taping,placebo taping and blank control. METHODS:Thirty-nine male college students majoring in basketball were recruited as subjects.Each subject was tested with kinesio taping,placebo taping or no taping.The mechanical correction method was used to patch the dominant knee joint of each subject.The run-up speed of 4.5-5.5 m/s was selected to complete the 45° side-step cutting motion,and the kinematics and kinetics data were collected synchronously by the three-dimensional dynamic capture system and the force measuring platform.The kinematics and kinetics parameters at the moment of initial touchdown and peak ground reaction force were selected for data analysis.SPSS 27.0 software was used for statistical analysis of the test data. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Kinematic indexes:compared with no taping and placebo taping,the hip abduction and knee valgus angles at the initial touchdown moment were significantly decreased when kinesio taping was used(P<0.05);at the moment of peak lateral ground reaction force,the angles of hip abduction,knee valgus and ankle plantar flexion decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the knee flexion angle was significantly increased(P<0.05).Kinetic indexes:Compared with no taping,both kinesio taping and placebo taping significantly reduced hip abduction and external rotation torque,knee valgus and external rotation torque at the moment of initial touchdown(P<0.05),and significantly reduced peak vertical ground reaction force and peak horizontal backward ground reaction force(P<0.05);in addition,kinesio taping significantly reduced peak lateral ground reaction force compared with no taping and placebo taping(P<0.05).These results indicate that kinesio taping of the knee joint may improve some kinematic and kinetic indexes associated with lower limb injury risk factors during the completion of the side-step cutting in basketball specialized college students to some extent,and may have a positive effect on the prevention of injury during the side-step cutting.In addition,the trends in the effects of placebo taping and kinesio taping on the knee joint are more consistent in terms of changes in some indexes,suggesting that there may be a placebo effect on the mechanism of action of kinesio taping.

Objective:To compare the testing effects of different testing methods in the functional inspection of precision surgical scissors and needle holders.Methods:By consulting relevant literature and professional books,three testing methods and materials for precision surgical scissors and needle holders were selected.The cutting performance of the precision surgical scissors were tested by gauze cloth,cotton wool,and silicone film method in the Interlock surgical instrument testing set.The clamping performance of precision needle holder was tested by using light,needle clips,and thread clamping method in the Interlock surgical instrument testing set.100 pieces of precision surgical scissors and needle holders which were qualified for cleaning and disinfection in the hospital were selected for effectiveness testing,and a self-made satisfaction questionnaire to investigate the satisfaction of surgeons with the use of instruments.Results:After 100 precision surgical scissors tested using three methods of gauze,cotton wool,and silicone film,the qualified number of cutting performance was 94,76,and 58,respectively,the difference was statistically significant(x2=36.526,P<0.05).The satisfaction rate of surgeons with the use of precision surgical scissors passed the silicone film test was the highest at 100%,followed by cotton wool cloth at 82.0%,and the gauze method at the worst at 67.0%,the difference was statistically significant(x2=48.439,P<0.05).After 100 precision needle holders were tested by using three methods of light irradiation,needle clamping,and wire clamping,the qualified number of clamping performance was 96,78,and 62,respectively,the difference was statistically significant(x2=38.160,P<0.05).The satisfaction rate of surgeons with the precision needle holders passed the clamp line test was the highest at 100.0%,followed by the clamp needle at 79.0%,and the worst under light at 62.0%,the difference was statistically significant(x2=57.705,P<0.05).Conclusion:The function and quality of precision surgical scissors and needle holders tested by the test objects in Interlock Surgical Instrument Test Suite can objectively and accurately reflect the functional status of surgical scissors and needle holders,provide reference for regular maintenance and upkeep of instruments,and ensure safe use of instruments.

ObjectiveTo analyze the quantity-quality transfer of standard decoction of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma(GRR) decoction pieces produced by fresh and traditional cutting, and to provide reference for quality control and application development of the decoction pieces produced by fresh cutting. MethodTen batches of representative GRR decoction pieces produced by fresh and traditional cutting and their standard decoctions were prepared by standard process, and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) fingerprint of the standard decoction was established and performed on an Agilent EC-C18 column(4.6 mm×150 mm, 2.7 μm) with acetonitrile(A)-0.1% phosphoric acid aqueous solution(B) as the mobile phase for gradient elution(0-23 min, 18%-21%A; 23-35 min, 21%-28%A; 35-80 min, 28%-32%A), and the detection wavelength was 203 nm. Then similarity evaluation, principal component analysis(PCA) and partial least squares-discriminant analysis(PLS-DA) of fingerprint of the standard decoction were performed to screen the differential components with variable importance in the projection(VIP) value>1. Quantitative analysis was carried out on the screened known differential components, and combined with the indicators of the dry extract rate and the transfer rate, to explore the differences in the quantity-quality transfer between the standard decoction of GRR decoction pieces produced by fresh and traditional cutting. ResultThe fingerprint similarity of the standard decoction of GRR decoction pieces produced by fresh and traditional cutting was more than 0.950, and 18 common peaks were identified, including 9 identified common peaks. The results of PCA and PLS-DA showed that there were some differences in the contents of index components between the two standard decoctions. The contents of ginsenoside Rg1, Re and Ro in GRR decoction pieces produced by fresh cutting were higher than those in traditional decoction pieces, while the contents of ginsenoside Rb1, Rc , Rb2 and Rd were lower than those in traditional decoction pieces. The contents of ginsenoside Rg1, Re, Rb1 and Ro in the standard decoction of GRR decoction pieces produced by fresh cutting were higher than those in the standard decoction of traditional decoction pieces, while the contents of ginsenoside Rc , Rb2 and Rd were comparable between the two standard decoctions. Compared with the standard decoction of the traditional decoction pieces, the average transfer rates of ginsenoside Rg1, Rb1, Rc, Rb2 and dry extract rate of the standard decoction of GRR decoction pieces produced by fresh cutting were significantly increased(P<0.05), and the average transfer rate of ginsenoside Re and Rd also increased, but the difference was not statistically significant. ConclusionThe dry extract rate, content and transfer rate of index components of standard decoction of GRR decoction pieces produced by fresh cutting are better than those of the standard decoction of traditional decoction pieces, which can provides data support for the subsequent clinical application of fresh cutting products.

Objective To observe the effects of a 1 470 nm semiconductor laser on vaporization cutting, coagulation, and thermal injury of ex vivo animal tissues, aiming to explore the feasibility of its application in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.Methods The experimental group and control group were treated with HANS-D1 and ML-DD01FI 1 470 nm semiconductor laser therapy equipment, respectively. Fresh ex vivo pig bladder tissue was exposed to lasers with the optical fiber placed at distances of 0.5 cm and 1 cm from the tissue for 5 s. The effects of layers at powers of 60, 90, 120, 150, and 160 W on tissue injury were observed. Ex vivo dog prostate and pig kidney tissues were used for vaporization ablation and cutting to observe the effects of lasers at the same power levels on tissue vaporization and cutting thermal injury. Additionally, in coagulation mode, the effects of 30, 40, and 50 W semiconductor lasers on tissue coagulation were observed after irradiating ex vivo pig kidney tissue for 5, 10, and 15 seconds. Results When the optical fiber was placed 1 cm away from the tissue, the 1 470 nm semiconductor lasers did not cause accidental damage to adjacent normal bladder tissue. However, at a distance of 0.5 cm, the 120 W, 150 W, or 160 W lasers caused slight damage to the bladder tissue. In addition, with the increase in output power, the vaporization ablation efficiency of 60-160 W lasers on dog prostate tissue gradually increased, showing a good linear correlation between vaporization volume and total energy consumption (P<0.001). Histopathological HE staining results indicated that the coagulation layer thickness in the experimental group was 292.20-309.98 µm, and the vaporization layer depth was 1.49-4.52 mm. In the control group, the coagulation layer thickness was 289.91-303.53 µm, and the vaporization layer depth was 1.88-4.43 mm. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Moreover, when performing vaporization cutting on ex vivo pig kidney tissue with a cross-sectional area of 1 cm2, the efficiency of vaporization cutting by the 60-160 W 1 470 nm semiconductor lasers increased with the increase in output power (P<0.05). The coagulated layer thickness in the experimental group was 496.04-514.47 µm, while that in the control group was 489.39-518.53 µm. Additionally, in coagulation mode, when ex vivo pig kidney tissue was irradiated for 5, 10, and 15 s with 30, 40, and 50 W semiconductor lasers, the coagulation diameter, groove depth, and coagulation efficiency gradually increased with the increase in laser output power (P<0.05). The coagulation layer thickness in the experimental group and control group was 399.10-449.98 µm and 392.97-447.65 µm, respectively, and the vaporization layer depth was 3.05-7.09 mm and 2.70-7.14 mm, respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusion The 1 470 nm semiconductor laser shows good vaporization ablation, cutting, and coagulation effect on ex vivo tissues, with a good linear correlation between the effect and the output energy.

Aims: The study aims to investigate the influence of different IBA concentration on the rooting and subsequent growth of hardwood cuttings of "Pusa Navrang" grapevine.Study Design: The study was performed in RBD design with replicate 5 times.Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted at Research Farm, College of Horticulture, Mandsaur, during the period November 2020- March 21.Methodology: Polybags size of 5 X 7 inch was used for experiment. After the filling of growing media in poly bags, the hard wood cuttings of Pusa Navrang with uniform size having 4-5 functional bud was taken from one year matured canes from research farm, College of Horticulture, Mandsaur. The diameter of cutting about 0.75 to 1 cm (pencil thickness) were taken and before planting cuttings were treated with IBA solution by quick dip method.Results: The significant result were found for shoot parameter like shoot length, number of nodes per shoot, internodal length, number of buds per shoot, stem diameter, stem fresh weight, stem dry weight. Root Parameters like number of primary and secondary roots, root length, root thickness, whole root volume, fresh weight of root and dry weight of root. Leaf Parameters like number of leaves per plant, fresh weight of leaf, dry weight of leaf, leaf area, leaf area index, specific leaf weight, minimum days taken to emergence of 1st leaf and water content of leaf found in IBA @ 6000 ppm (G3).Conclusion: Among four concentration of growth regulator (IBA), the application of IBA @ 6000 ppm (G3) responded well in terms of rooting and shooting in hard wood cutting of grapes.

Introducción: La gran diversidad de especies maderables tropicales demanda el desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías de identificación con base en sus patrones o características anatómicas. La aplicación de redes neuronales convolucionales (CNN) para el reconocimiento de especies maderables tropicales se ha incrementado en los últimos años por sus resultados prometedores. Objetivo: Evaluamos la calidad de las imágenes macroscópicas con tres herramientas de corte para mejorar la visualización y distinción de las características anatómicas en el entrenamiento del modelo CNN. Métodos: Recolectamos las muestras entre el 2020 y 2021 en áreas de explotación forestal y aserraderos de Selva Central, Perú. Luego, las dimensionamos y, previo a la identificación botánica y anatómica, las cortamos en secciones transversales. Generamos una base de datos de imágenes macroscópicas de la sección transversal de la madera, a través del corte, con tres herramientas para ver su rendimiento en el laboratorio, campo y puesto de control. Resultados: Usamos tres herramientas de corte para obtener una alta calidad de imágenes transversales de la madera; obtuvimos 3 750 imágenes macroscópicas con un microscopio portátil que corresponden a 25 especies maderables. El cuchillo ''Tramontina'' es duradero, pero pierde el filo con facilidad y se necesita una herramienta para afilar, el cúter retráctil ''Pretul'' es adecuado para madera suave y dura en muestras pequeñas de laboratorio; el cuchillo ''Ubermann'' es apropiado para el campo, laboratorio y puesto de control, porque tiene una envoltura duradera y láminas intercambiables en caso de pérdida de filo. Conclusiones: La calidad de las imágenes es decisiva en la clasificación de especies maderables, porque permite una mejor visualización y distinción de las características anatómicas en el entrenamiento con los modelos de red neuronal convolucional EfficientNet B0 y Custom Vision, lo cual se evidenció en las métricas de precisión.
Introduction: The great diversity of tropical timber species demands the development of new technologies capable of identifying them based on their patterns or anatomical characteristics. The application of convolutional neural networks (CNN) for the recognition of tropical timber species has increased in recent years due to the promising results of CNNs. Objective: To evaluate the quality of macroscopic images with three cutting tools to improve the visualization and distinction of anatomical features in the CNN model training. Methods: Samples were collected from 2020 to 2021 in areas of logging and sawmills in the Central Jungle, Peru. They were later sized and, after botanical and anatomical identification, cut in cross sections. A database of macroscopic images of the cross-section of wood was generated through cutting with three different tools and observing its performance in the laboratory, field, and checkpoint. Results: Using three cutting tools, we obtained high quality images of the cross section of wood; 3 750 macroscopic images were obtained with a portable microscope and correspond to 25 timber species. We found the ''Tramontina'' knife to be durable, however, it loses its edge easily and requires a sharpening tool, the ''Pretul'' retractable cutter is suitable for cutting soft and hard wood in small laboratory samples and finally the ''Ubermann'' knife is suitable for use in the field, laboratory, and checkpoint, because it has a durable sheath and interchangeable blades in case of dullness. Conclusion: The quality of the images is decisive in the classification of timber species, because it allows a better visualization and distinction of the anatomical characteristics in training with the EfficientNet B0 and Custom Vision convolutional neural network models, which was evidenced in the precision metrics.

A Field experiment was conducted at AICRP on Forage Crops and Utilization, ARI, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad during kharif 2021. The treatments consisted of four fodder pearl millet varieties (TSFB 15-4, TSFB 15-8 ,Moti bajra and Moti bajra ), two nitrogen levels (80 and 120 kg N ha-1) and two cutting management practices (C1: Two cuts: 1st at 60 DAS, 2nd cut at 50% flowering) (C2: Three cuts: 1st at 50 DAS, 2nd cut at 35 days after 1st cut and 3rd cut at 50% flowering) laid out in randomized block design with factorial concept, with Factor (A) as varieties, Factor (B) as nitrogen levels and Factor (C) as cutting management with three replications. The soil was sandy loam in texture with pH of 7.0 low in available nitrogen, medium in available phosphorus and available potassium. The results revealed that TSFB 15-8 recorded significantly higher green fodder (769.8 q ha-1) and dry fodder (191.7 q ha-1) yields. The variety TSFB 15-8 was also shown highest crude protein content (6.0%), crude protein yield (13.8 q ha-1) and higher nitrogen uptake (190.2 kg ha-1). Application of nitrogen 120 kg N ha-1 significantly recorded maximum green fodder yield (716.1 q ha-1),dry fodder yield,crude protein content (6.1%), crude protein yield (14.7 q ha-1) and nitrogen uptake (207.1kg ha-1). But as the nitrogen application increases the ADF and NDF contents decrease. The higher ADF and NDF contents recorded highest at 80 kg N ha-1 and lowest at 120 kg N ha-1. Three cuts for green fodder recorded highest crude protein content (6.5%), crude protein yield (13.9 q ha-1) and nitrogen uptake (228.0 kg ha-1) over two cuts for green fodder. Variety TSFB 15-8 with nitrogen level of 120 kg N ha-1 at C2 found suitable and economical for cultivation in southernTelangana zone.

Vegetative propagation is a fantastic way to improve the quality of the forest tree planting stock. It is often used in seed orchards and clone banks as a method of genotype preservation. Vegetative propagation is the greatest option when low quality seed and poor germination rates limit the availability of planting stock and quality. This review article discusses different vegetative propagation methods, including macro-propagation by cuttings, micropropagation through tissue culture, and grafting. Having insufficient knowledge and experience is the biggest obstacle to employing vegetative propagation. Therefore, an effort was made to outline several techniques together with their history and significance.

A power operated maize stalk harvester was designed and developed in the Dept. of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, MPUAT, Udaipur, Rajasthan during 2018-19. The objective of this study is to optimize the operational parameters of the maize stalk harvesting by using the RSM techniques. The effects of independent parameters i.e., blade speed (2000, 4000 and 6000 rpm) and stalk moisture content (38, 42 and 46%) on cutting efficiency (%) and fuel consumption (l/h) were studied. To correlate the independent parameters with the dependent parameters, the central composite rotatable design (CCRD) method with a quadratic model was used. The findings indicated that the variations in blade speed and stalk moisture content affected the cutting efficiency (%) and fuel consumption (l/h). To assess the statistical significance of the model, an analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed, which showed good agreement between the experimental data and data predicted by the model. The blade speed of 4000 rpm and stalk moisture content of 46.0% was found to be the optimum for power operated maize stalk harvester with the 96.52% cutting efficiency and 0.72 l/h fuel consumption.

India is the second-leading country in production of cashew nut. Cashew nut are roasted or steamed before shelling. The study was conducted in cashew nut processing industries situated in Selsella and Mankachar blocks of Meghalaya and Assam. The purpose of this study was to compare the cutting strength of cashew nut shells influenced by roasting and steaming. The impact of manual shelling of cashew nut on occupational health of workers was also assessed by using ergonomic tools. The moisture content, colour, and hardness of cashew nut shell were measured. The processing of cashew nut influenced the cutting strength of cashew nut significantly. Steamed cashew nut shell was stronger than the roasted cashew nut shell. Hence, manually shelling of steamed cashew nut shell required more force compared to with that of roasted cashew nut shell. Four cashew nut processing industries, two each from Selsella and Mankachar block of Meghalaya and Assam, respectively were selected purposively. A group of 10 female workers from each industry were selected randomly as sample for this study. Ergonomic parameters: working Heart Rate, energy expenditure, rated perceived exertion, hand grip measurements, RULA and REBA analysis were used to assess occupational health of workers. The results of the study showed that the workers of cashew nut industries were exposed to high occupational health and safety risk due to poor working environment, awkward working posture, repetitive and tedious job.

Good quality planting materials for yam cultivation is a major challenge and adapting the most preferred local varieties to high ratio propagation methods such as the vine cutting could help ameliorate this constraint. An experiment was conducted in the screen house at CSIR-Savanna Agricultural Research Institute to assess the response of ‘Labako’, ‘Nyamenti’ and ‘Kpamyo’ (check) to vine cutting under different substrates. The experiment was 3 x 6 factorial arranged in a completely randomized design with 3 replications. Single node cuttings were obtained from 3 months old plants and established in the various rooting substrates (carbonized rice husk; fermented rice bran; aged rice husk; top-soil ,cocopeat and carbonized rice husk + top-soil; 2:1).Highly significant differences (P<0.001) existed in main effects and interaction of the factors. All cultivars attained 100% survival in CRH (carbonized rice husk) and cocopeat. Kpamyo and Nyamenti had 89.6% regeneration in cocopeat, FRB (fermented rice bran) and CRH. Labako exhibited the maximum shoot growth (31 cm) in CRH whiles the minimum (10 cm) was observed in ARH (aged rice husk) for Kpamyo. Six nodes were produced by Nyamenti in CRH, whiles Kpamyo produced 3 nodes in the same substrate. Labako initiated 88% tuberization, higher than Kpamyo with 75%. Generally, the cultivars were successfully adapted to the vine cutting technique in CRH, FRB as well as cocopeat. CRH and FRB are locally available, hence less expensive to acquire and therefore recommended for cost-effective single node propagation of the popular local yam cultivars.

A avicultura de corte levou ao Brasil a ser o no líder exportador de carne de frango, desde 2011, e o terceiro produtor global desta proteína. Portanto, é importante que todo produtor possua e mantenha um programa de biosseguridade continuado, respeitando rigorosamente cada etapa ou prática de manejo a fim de obter o sucesso econômico de sua produção. Sustentado pela medicina veterinária preventiva, um programa de biosseguridade deve apresentar aspectos direcionados a cada sistema de proteção em particular, para prevenir e controlar a presença e/ou introdução de microrganismos patogênicos nos rebanhos. O objetivo deste trabalho e apresentar uma revisão atualizada de literatura sobre programas de biosseguridade para evitar a proliferação de agentes patogênicos na avicultura de corte como os dois tipos de Salmonella que causam riscos à saúde pública e à dos animais. A pesquisa é qualitativa de cunho exploratório bibliográfico-documental, com pesquisa em sites como o Google Acadêmico, da revista de veterinária da Unipar, SCIELO, portal CAPES e sites governamentais. O resultado da pesquisa apresentou um panorama real sobre emprego de programas de biosseguridade no Brasil, direcionados à avicultura de corte, demonstrando que os produtores estão se conscientizando sobre a importância destes programas, devido à pressão do mercado exportador global. Conclui-se que ainda falta uma maior conscientização por parte de todos os produtores brasileiros, para evitar que o plantel produzido seja contaminado por agentes patogênicos, principalmente a Salmonella, evitando que a saúde pública e animal esteja comprometida. Somente desta maneira, o Brasil conseguirá manter e expandir mais o mercado avícola a nível global.(AU)
Poultry farming has led Brazil to be the leading exporter of chicken meat, since 2011, and the third global producer of this protein. Therefore, it is important that every producer has and maintains a continuous biosecurity program, strictly respecting each stage or management practice in order to obtain the economic success of their production. Supported by preventive veterinary medicine, a biosecurity program must present aspects directed to each protection system in particular, to prevent and control the presence and/or introduction of pathogenic microorganisms in herds. The objective of this work is to present an updated review of the literature on biosecurity programs to prevent the proliferation of pathogenic agents in poultry farming, such as the two types of Salmonella that pose risks to public and animal health. The research is qualitative, bibliographical-documentary exploratory, with research on sites such as Google Scholar, Unipar's veterinary magazine, SCIELO, CAPES portal and government sites. The result of the research presented a real panorama on the use of biosecurity programs in Brazil, directed to poultry production, demonstrating that producers are becoming aware of the importance of these programs, due to the pressure of the global export market. It is concluded that there is still a lack of greater awareness on the part of all Brazilian producers, to prevent the produced herd from being contaminated by pathogenic agents, mainly Salmonella, preventing public and animal health from being compromised. Only in this way will Brazil be able to maintain and further expand the poultry market at a global level.(AU)
La avicultura llevó a Brasil a ser el principal exportador de carne de pollo, desde 2011, y el tercer productor mundial de esta proteína. Por ello, es importante que todo productor cuente y mantenga un programa de bioseguridad continuo, respetando estrictamente cada etapa o práctica de manejo para obtener el éxito económico de su producción. Apoyado en la medicina veterinaria preventiva, un programa de bioseguridad debe presentar aspectos dirigidos a cada sistema de protección en particular, para prevenir y controlar la presencia y/o introducción de microorganismos patógenos en los rebaños. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar una revisión actualizada de la literatura sobre programas de bioseguridad para prevenir la proliferación de agentes patógenos en la avicultura, como los dos tipos de Salmonella que presentan riesgos para la salud pública y animal. La investigación es cualitativa, bibliográfico-documental exploratoria, con pesquisa en sitios como Google Scholar, revista veterinaria de la Unipar, SCIELO, portal de la CAPES y sitios gubernamentales. El resultado de la investigación presentó un panorama real sobre el uso de programas de bioseguridad en Brasil, dirigidos a la producción avícola, demostrando que los productores están tomando conciencia de la importancia de estos programas, debido a la presión del mercado mundial de exportación. Se concluye que aún falta una mayor conciencia por parte de todos los productores brasileños, para evitar que el hato producido sea contaminado por agentes patógenos, principalmente Salmonella, evitando que se comprometa la salud pública y animal. Solo así Brasil podrá mantener y expandir aún más el mercado avícola a nivel mundial.(AU)

Objective To investigates the applicability of cutting balloon in the pretreatment of superficial coronary artery calcified lesions, so as to decrease the occurrence of serious consequences in the treatment of calcified lesions. Methods The effect of cutting balloon on calcified plaques with different curvatures, thickness, and length was analyzed using the finite element method, with normal balloon as a control. The thickness of calcified plaque was set to 0.3 mm and 0.4 mm, and the length was set to 2 mm and 4 mm. The calcification degree was set to 120°, 180°, 270°and 360° according to the intravenous ultrasound (IVUS) calcification severity grading, with a total of 16 types of calcified plaques. The brittle fracture module was used to simulate calcification fracture of calcified plaques, and virtual stent implantation was carried out based on pretreatment simulation. The effect of pretreatment was evaluated by calcification fracture condition and stent roundness. Results For superficial calcification lesions, in lesions less than 120°, the balloon could not remove the calcification plaque obstruction, and the stent roundness rate was 82.75%. In 180° calcified lesions with thickness of less than 0.3 mm, the calcification was broken by cutting balloon under 1 215.9 kPa expansion pressure, and the post-stent roundness rate was 74.42%; normal balloon could not cause calcification fracture under safe expansion pressure (1 418.55 kPa). In 270°calcified lesions with thickness less than 0.3 mm, the normal balloon produced 3 fractures under 1 013.25 kPa expansion pressure. The cutting balloon produced 2 fractures under 1 013.25 kPa expansion pressure, and the balloon could not fracture the circular calcified lesions with thickness of 0.3 mm. Conclusions Cutting balloon is recommended for 180°calcified lesions with thickness less than 0.3 mm, the normal balloon is recommended for 270°calcified lesions, and balloon pretreatment is not recommended for annular lesions with thickness greater than 0.3 mm.

DNA barcoding has been widely used for herb identification in recent decades,enabling safety and innovation in the field of herbal medicine.In this article,we summarize recent progress in DNA bar-coding for herbal medicine to provide ideas for the further development and application of this tech-nology.Most importantly,the standard DNA barcode has been extended in two ways.First,while conventional DNA barcodes have been widely promoted for their versatility in the identification of fresh or well-preserved samples,super-barcodes based on plastid genomes have rapidly developed and have shown advantages in species identification at low taxonomic levels.Second,mini-barcodes are attractive because they perform better in cases of degraded DNA from herbal materials.In addition,some mo-lecular techniques,such as high-throughput sequencing and isothermal amplification,are combined with DNA barcodes for species identification,which has expanded the applications of herb identification based on DNA barcoding and brought about the post-DNA-barcoding era.Furthermore,standard and high-species coverage DNA barcode reference libraries have been constructed to provide reference se-quences for species identification,which increases the accuracy and credibility of species discrimination based on DNA barcodes.In summary,DNA barcoding should play a key role in the quality control of traditional herbal medicine and in the international herb trade.

OBJECTIVE@#The purpose of this study is to explore the biomechanical characteristics of the tibia after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty with different distributions of two-pin holes, and to optimize the two-pin holes scheme to reduce the risk of tibial fractures after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty.@*METHODS@#Lower limbs model is segmented and reconstructed from computed tomography images. Four combinations of two pin holes created for tibial cutting guide placement are simulated with finite element analysis.@*RESULTS@#In the third mode, the positioning hole at the proximal medial edge of the tibial plateau has the highest stress value, and the position of the positioning hole near the medial edge of the proximal tibial plateau appears stress concentration.@*CONCLUSIONS@#The present study revealed that placing tibial cutting guide holding pins centrally would lower the risks of periprosthetic fracture of the medial tibial plateau.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of intravascular lithotripsy(IVL)in the treatment of coronary artery calcification lesions.Methods A total of 53 patients who underwent endovascular imaging guided treatment of coronary artery calcified lesions with either IVL or cutting balloon(CB)at the Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical College from January 2023 to July 2023 were retrospectively analysed(IVL:n=18,CB:n=35)were retrospectively analysed to compare the technique,clinical success rate,major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE)and readmission for cardiovascular events in patients followed during hospitalisation and 1 month after the procedure.Results Clinical success rates were identical in the IVL and CB groups(100.0%vs.100.0%,P>0.999),the minimum lumen area of lesions was similar in the VL and CB groups[(1.7±0.4)mm2 vs.(1.7±0.5 mm2),P=0.628].And there was a statistically significant difference in the overall mean lesion length between the IVL and CB groups[(28.4±9.6)mm vs.(20.9±8.6)mm,P=0.008].During the procedure,there were no complications such as aneurysm,thrombus,or emergency vessel closure.There was a statistically significant difference in the overall mean value of residual stenosis between the IVL and CB groups[(1.7±1.7)%vs.(6.9±2.0)%,P=0.049].There were no MACE in either group during hospitalisation or at the one-month follow-up(0 vs.0,P>0.999),and 3 patients in the CB group were readmitted for angina pectoris(0 vs.8.6%,P=0.543),with no significant difference in readmission rates between the two groups.Conclusions The technique of intravascular lithotripsy is safe and effective in the treatment of coronary artery calcification lesions.

The purpose of the present study was to compare the soil nutrient content and the development of Turnera subulata Smith, an ornamental species, in the presence of the nest refuse (basically composed of fragments of grass leaves and the symbiotic fungus) produced by the leaf-cutting ant Acromyrmex balzani (Emery, 1890) or in control soil through a greenhouse pot experiment. The experiment was carried out with two treatments: control soil and soil with 25% of nest refuse. The plants were kept in 1L pots for 90 days. We evaluated the parameters: plant height, stem diameter, root length, number of leaves, dry weight of the root, dry and fresh aboveground biomass. Additionally, the relative chlorophyll content and leaf nutrients were used as nutritional parameters. As a result, plants that grew in the soil with nest refuse showed significant higher values of all parameters evaluated when compared to the control treatment (p < 0.001). We conclude that this biofertilizer contributed to the production of more vigorous plants, being able to act on the local dynamics of nutrients in the ecosystems where A. balzani occurs. As it is relatively abundant and easy to collect, the refuse of A. balzani has the potential to be used as an alternative substrate in the production of shortlife cycle plants.

Concluímos que esse biofertilizante contribuiu para a produção de plantas mais vigorosas, podendo atuar na dinâmica local de nutrientes nos ecossistemas onde A. balzani ocorre. Além disso, por ser relativamente abundante e fácil de coletar, o SD de A. balzani tem potencial para ser utilizado como biofertilizante na produção de plantas de ciclo de vida curta.
