ABSTRACT

@#AIM: To explore the effect of fundus laser combined with Qi Ming granule on diabetic retinopathy in stage Ⅲ.<p>METHODS: Fifty six patients with Ⅲ stage diabetic retinopathy who were treated in our hospital from December 2017 to June 2018 were divided into control group(28 cases)and observation group(28 cases)according to the treatment method. The control group was treated with panretinal photocoagulation. The observation group was treated with Qi Ming granule combined with retinal laser photocoagulation. The best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA), mean defect of visual field(MD), and central macular thickness(CMT)were examined before photocoagulation and 1mo, 3mo and 6mo after photocoagulation to compare the retinal function between the two groups.<p>RESULTS: The mean BCVA, MD and CMT values of the eyes in the PRP+ drug treatment group and the PRP treatment group were statistically significant(<i>P</i><0.05)at 1, 3, and 6mo after treatment. The mean BCVA, MD and CMT values between the two groups were statistically significant(<i>P</i><0.05)at 1 and 3mo after treatment. There was no significant difference at 6mo after treatment(<i>P</i>>0.05).<p>CONCLUSION: Qi Ming granule can alleviate the degree of laser photocoagulation damage to the retina, promote the rapid repair of laser damage, and reduce diabetic macular edema. It is worthy of popularization and application in the clinic.

ABSTRACT

·AIM: To investigate the clinical efficacy of Qi Ming granule combined with macular grid laser photocoagulation in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy (DR) with diabetic macular edema (DME). ·METHODS: The clinical data of 50 patients (98 eyes) with DME treated in our hospital from March 2014 to March 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were randomly divided into two group, 25 patients (48 eyes) treated with macular grid laser photocoagulation were included into the control group. On the basis of this, 25 patients (50 eyes) treated with Qi Ming granule were included into observation group. The central macular thickness(CMT) and best corrected visual acuity(BCVA) between two groups were evaluated and compared after detected by optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) at 7d, 1 and 3mo post-treatment. ·RESULTS: The total effective rate was 94% in the observation group with 47 effective eyes, which was was significantly higher than 83% in the control group with 40 effective eyes (P< 0. 05). The BCVA was significantly improved in the two groups after treatment; the BCVA of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group after 7d, 1 and 3mo treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). CMT in the two groups after treatment decreased significantly;the CMT of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group after 7d, 1 and 3mo treatment, with statistical significance (P<0. 05). The intraocular hypertension occurred in observation group(2 eyes) and the control group (1 eyes), and relieved quickly after receiving medication, without any other obvious adverse reactions. ·CONCLUSION: The clinical efficacy of Qi Ming granule combined with macular grid laser photocoagulation in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy with macular edema is effective, which can reduce CMT,improve eyesight.

ABSTRACT

@#AIM: To investigate the clinical effect of Qi Ming granule combined with calcium dobesilate in treatment of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR).<p>METHODS: Totally 94 patients with I~III stage NPDR in our hospital from January 2014 to May 2016 were collected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, all were unilateral, with 47 eyes in each group. The two groups were given control of blood glucose, diet and exercise therapy and other conventional treatment. The control group were treated with conventional western medicine calcium dobesilate treatment, 0.5g,3 times per day, the observation group combined with Qi Ming granule treatment based on control group treatment. Both groups were treated for 3mo. Two groups were observed before and after treatment for visual sensitivity and changes of serum cytokines \〖vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1), pigment epithelium derived factor(PEDG)\〗. Therapeutic effect and safety of the two groups were comprehensively evaluated and compared. <p>RESULTS: The average sensitivity of the observation group after treatment was lower than that before treatment and the control group after treatment, the difference were statistically significant(<i>P</i><0.05).The VEGF,IGF-1,PEDG of observation group after treatment, were significantly improved compared with the control group, the difference were statistically significant(<i>P</i><0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions in the two groups, the total effective rate was 89% in the observation group, which was higher compared with the control group 72%, and the difference was statistically significant(<i>P</i><0.05). <p>CONCLUSION: Qi Ming granule combined with western medicine in the treatment of DR can effectively improve the function of the retina and ease the progress of the disease, and the safety is good, the clinical treatment effect is remarkable.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate effect of Qi-ming granule on vision function of patients with mild, moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy ( NPDR ) .Methods Using the randomized double blind and placebo-controlled clinical trial method. From Oct.2012 to Jun.2014, 36 patients with 68 eyes who included in the standard were randomly divided into treatment group, control group, given Qi-ming gran-ule and placebo respectively for 6 months, exam with mfERG before treatment and after treatment, evaluate the curative effect. Results After 6 months treatment of Qi-ming granule, the implicit time of the 4th ring of the N1 wave about the mfERG was shorter than that of preoperative( P <0.05), the amplitude density was more than both that of preoperative and control group( P <0.01), the amplitude density of the 5th ring increased compared to that of control group; The peak latency of 3 rd ring of P1 wave was shorter than that of control group( P <0.01), the amplitude density of 1st,3rd,5th ring restored compared with that of preopera-tive and control group( P <0.01), the amplitude density of 4th ring improve than that of control group( P<0.01).Conclusions Qi-ming granule can improve the multifocal ERG of patients with mild, moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, restore the vision function.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To evaluate the clinical therapeutic efficacy of the Qi ming granule for macular edema ( ME ) in diabetic patients after phacoemulsification. METHODS:In this was a prospective clinical comparison study, 57 diabetic patients ( 76 eyes ) who underwent phacoemulsification were recruited and divided into two groups:treatment group (34 eyes) and control group (42 eyes) . All the patients in treatment group were given oral administration Qi ming granule (4. 5g, tid) and vitamin C ( 0. 1g, tid ) for 6mo postoperatively, while vitamin C ( 0.1g, tid ) for the controls. General clinical examinations, including blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin, as well as comprehensive standardized ophthalmic examinations were performed. Optical coherence tomography ( OCT ) were used to detect macular edema incidence and measure central field retinal thickness. RESULTS: No significant difference was found in the levels of blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, course of disease, and macular thickness between the two groups during the initial visits. At the 6th month, 2 eyes ( 6%) eyes had clinically apparent macular edema in treatment group, while 6 ( 14%) eyes had clinically apparent macular edema in control group (P=0. 285). The central subfield retinal thickness values were significantly lower in the treatment group ( 211. 76±41. 21μm ) than those in control group (278. 36±48. 94μm) (P CONCLUSION:Qi ming granule can significantly reduce the incidences of macular edema and suppresses increasing retinal thickening after phacoemulsification in patients with diabetes mellitus.
