ABSTRACT
Objectives: To present a simple form of vocal and breathing conditioning for voice professionals based on concepts from vocal science. The vocal conditioning program called Voice Athletes Conditioning uses the principles of exercise physiology to gradually improve vocal and respiratory overload to achieve endurance, power, and flexibility. Methods: Due to our personal experience with high voice users, we synthesized a vocal conditioning program (AVCP) that combines voice science, exercise physiology, sports science and physical therapy principles. This is an 8-week program of daily vocal and breathing exercises with overload enhancement each week using different types of breathing devices and semi-occluded vocal tract exercises, designed and developed according to the specific requirements and performance of the voice professional. Reflections: Professional voice users often experience episodes of vocal fatigue that can directly affect their performance and vocal health. As with physical training for athletes, voice exercises can also contribute to improving vocal conditioning, preventing voice disorders, as well as helping to obtain better performance, greater tolerance to fatigue and shorter recovery time. Conclusions: AVCP is an approach that considers the principles of muscle training aimed objectively at the respiratory and vocal muscles, carried out with a variety of breathing devices and specific vocal exercises in search of greater performance time, less physiological stress, and shorter recovery time in the professional use of the voice.

ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:Resistance exercise increases muscle mass and improves muscle strength, but there is a lack of conclusive evidence on its effects on body composition.Controversial results from randomized controlled trials and multiple Meta-analyses pose a problem for clinical decisions on exercise interventions. OBJECTIVE:Based on the methodological paradigm of umbrella review,to explore the efficacy and safety of resistance exercise in improving the body composition of overweight and obese people. METHODS:We searched PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science, and CNKI for systematic reviews on the effect of resistance exercise in overweight and obese people published from database inception to August 31,2022.Chinese search terms included"anti-resistance,resistance,self-weight,Meta,Meta-analysis,body composition, body fat percentage, fat mass, lean body mass, body mass."English search terms included"resistance training, strength training,weight-lifting strengthening program, body composition, body fat distribution,Meta-analysis,data pooling, overviews, clinical trial, clinical trial overviews."PRISMA was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the included studies, and a GRADE evaluation system was used to grade the quality of evidence. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 14 Meta-analyses were included, and GRADE evidence quality evaluation showed that 2 outcome indicators were intermediate,12 were low,and 14 were extremely low.Compared with the control group,23 of the 32 outcome measures showed significant improvement. The intervention effect of resistance exercise on body fat percentage has reached a consensus, but the intervention effects on lean body mass, body mass index and visceral fat still need further confirmation.Resistance exercise is an effective and safe method to improve the body composition of overweight and obese people. The overall quality of the research and the evidence quality of the outcome indicators included in the systematic evaluation are generally low.In the future, the initial state, exercise goal and willingness of the subjects should be fully combined on the basis of clarifying the sample characteristics and refining the scheme design.Through multiple, scientific and personalized exercise prescription designs of water, air and elastic resistance, the safety and compliance of resistance exercise can be improved, providing clear evidence-based support and decision-making basis for resistance exercise intervention.
ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:Sarcopenia is a chronic condition that leads to strength loss and functional decline, increasing the risk of frailty, disability, falls, and death in older adults.Blood flow restriction training can be effective in the treatment of sarcopenia, but a comprehensive review of its advantages, disadvantages, biological mechanisms, and application options is lacking. OBJECTIVE:To review the advantages, limitations, and biological mechanisms of blood flow restriction training interventions for sarcopenia and to give recommendations for application protocols based on current published evidence. METHODS:A search of major databases was conducted for literature published in the time frame up to February 2023.The search terms were"blood flow restriction training,KAATSU,elderly, sarcopenia, muscle"in English and Chinese.Finally,82 included papers were compiled and analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Blood flow restriction training as an intervention for sarcopenia has been effective in peripheral muscle groups, but there are limitations in its application.Blood flow restriction training is highly operational and safe. This training can improve muscle strength and physical performance, but there are potential risks, including adverse events on skeletal muscle, cardiovascular and endothelial cells. Therefore, blood flow restriction training needs to be performed under scientific guidance and further studies are needed to verify its efficacy in patients with sarcopenia. The biological mechanisms of blood flow restriction training intervention in sarcopenia may include:increasing muscle hypertrophy due to reactive muscle congestion, improving muscle protein synthesis capacity, inducing metabolic stress adaptation, promoting skeletal muscle growth and repair, activating vascular endothelial growth factor signaling pathway to promote angiogenesis, and promoting satellite cell proliferation. However, these specific roles and combined effects of these mechanisms need to be determined by more in-depth studies.Blood flow restriction training interventions for sarcopenia are mainly influenced by training and cuffs. To avoid adverse events,it is recommended that 20%to 50%1RM,20 to 75 repetitions,2 to 3 times per week,30-60 seconds interval between sessions, smaller size cuffs with a pressurization value≤140 mmHg for upper limb training, and larger size cuffs with a pressurization value≤180 mmHg for lower limb training, usually 50%to 80%of the pressure value in the completely occluded artery. However, more research is needed on the training frequency and interval between sessions in older adults, and further research is needed on the optimal choice of cuff pressurization values.
ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease, and its pathogenesis involves mitochondrial dysfunction.Exercise has a potential ameliorative effect on mitochondrial dysfunction related to Parkinson's disease, but there is no comprehensive review and in-depth analysis in this field. OBJECTIVE:To comprehensively review and analyze mitochondrial dysfunction related to Parkinson's disease and the potential ameliorative effect of exercise, thereby providing new ideas and methods for the treatment and prevention of Parkinson's disease. METHODS:We searched the Web of Science,PubMed,CNKI,WanFang, and VIP databases with the keywords of"mitochondria, mitochondrial function, mitochondrial disease, mitochondrial dysfunction,Parkinson's disease,Parkinson, exercise, physical activity, exercise training, exercise therapy, mitochondrial impairment, mitochondrial damage, mitochondrial defects"in Chinese and"mitochondria,Parkinson's disease,Parkinson disease, physical exercise, exercise, physical activity, mitochondrial dysfunction, mitochondrial damage, mitochondrial impairment, athletic training, exercise training, rehabilitation"in English.A total of 89 articles were included for review and analysis. RESLUTS AND CONCLUSION:Parkinson's disease is closely related to mitochondrial dysfunction, including mitochondrial biogenesis inhibition, reduced autophagy, increased apoptosis, abnormal elevation of Ca2+ concentration, and increased oxidative stress in Parkinson's disease patients.Exercise has a positive effect on mitochondrial dysfunction related to Parkinson's disease,by promoting mitochondrial biogenesisand autophagy, regulating mitochondrial morphology, altering the plasticity of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, and reducing oxidative stress, thus helping to improve the development and progression of Parkinson's disease. However, the detailed mechanism between mitochondrial dysfunction and the ameliorative effect of exercise is still not fully understood, and future clinical studies can be conducted to validate the results of animal models and gain insights into the benefits and mechanisms of exercise in patients with Parkinson's disease.
ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:Superior lower limb mobility is regarded as one of the prerequisites for winning competitions.Wearable resistance training can effectively overcome the deficiency in the transfer efficiency of traditional strength training in enhancing lower limb mobility.Considering that the impact of wearable resistance training based on different body parts on lower limb mobility may have significant differentiated characteristics,it is particularly important to review and summarize the specific application strategies and acute and chronic intervention effects. OBJECTIVE:To comb and analyze acute and chronic intervention effects of wearable resistance training based on different body parts on lower limb mobility,in order to provide insightful and methodological references for optimizing application strategies for lower limb movement ability. METHODS:A literature search was conducted in CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,Web of Science,Medline,SPORTDiscus, and PubMed databases for publications up to October 2023.Chinese and English search terms were"arm, forearm, limb, leg, lower extremity, vest, trunk, resist, weight, load, sprint, agility, change of direction".A total of 60 articles were ultimately included for review after screening the retrieval results. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Trunk loading of 6-20%of body mass is suitable for optimizing acceleration in sprinting, while trunk loading of≤6%body mass is suitable for optimizing high-speed running.A trunk load of 5%body mass is applicable for optimizing change-of-direction movement;forearm, calf,or thigh loading often uses 1%or 2%body mass.(2)Trunk loading optimizes the functional performance of the lower limb stretch-shortening cycle by increasing vertical load. This enhances the efficiency of ground reaction force utilization and strengthens the coordinated stability control of the whole body musculature.Forearm loading effectively enhances the driving force of the upper limb swing, improves the propulsive force of the lower limb sprint, and optimizes the efficiency of inter-limb coordination.Calf loading can impose restrictions on the function of the hip joint, thereby leading to localized load stimulation and compensatory functional enhancement in the knee or ankle joint.Thigh loading partially restricts the peak extension angle and speed of the knee joint, creates specific load stimulation at the hip joint, and significantly improves its rotational kinetic energy output.(3)During larger-angle change-of-direction movements, the impact of calf loading is more significant than thigh loading.Thigh loading stimulation helps to enhance power output, while calf loading stimulation aids in improving stability control and directional change.(4)Currently,wearable resistance training has been proven to be an effective way to improve sprint and change-of-direction performance. The methodological strategies to improve sprint performance are relatively mature, but the optimal application scheme to improve change-of-direction performance needs to be further refined and optimized.Further research is recommended to supplement this area.
ABSTRACT
Objective:To investigate the effect of rehabilitation exercise combined with resistance training on the postoperative recovery and quality of life among patients with pulmonary nodules. Methods:A randomized controlled study was conducted on 90 patients with pulmonary nodules who underwent thoracoscopic resection of pulmonary nodules at Zhejiang Veteran Hospital between January 2022 and April 2023. Patients were randomly allocated into an observation group and a control group, with 45 patients in each group using the random number table method. The control group underwent routine rehabilitation exercise, whereas the observation group received resistance training combined with routine rehabilitation exercise. All patients were treated for 1 week. The incidence of postoperative complications and the changes in lung function, exercise endurance, and quality of life from baseline levels were compared between the two groups. Results:The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group [6.7% (3/45) vs. 24.4% (11/45), χ2 = 5.41, P = 0.020). After intervention, the forced expiratory volume in 1 second, maximal voluntary ventilation per minute, and forced vital capacity in the observation group were (83.84 ± 4.35)%, (96.53 ± 3.45) L/min, and (2.87 ± 0.16) L, respectively, which were higher than those in the control group [(78.98 ± 4.01)%, (92.13 ± 3.08) L/min, (2.62 ± 0.19) L, t = -5.51, -6.38, -6.75, all P < 0.001]. Additionally, the modified Medical Research Council dyspnea score in the observation group was (0.42 ± 0.13) points, which was significantly lower than that in the control group [(0.87 ± 0.19) points, t = 13.11, P < 0.001). The modified Barthel index score in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group [(89.53 ± 3.67) points vs. (82.94 ± 4.23) points, t = -7.89, P < 0.001). Conclusion:The combination of rehabilitation exercise and resistance training can effectively enhance lung function, exercise endurance, and overall quality of life in patients with pulmonary nodules. Furthermore, this combined therapy markedly reduces postoperative complications.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Physical exercise can be an alternative for preventing and treating the harmful effects of obesity, mainly inflammatory effects on skeletal muscle and liver tissues. However, no consensus exists regarding this purpose's best physical training model. Objective: Evaluate morphological, metabolic, and inflammatory alterations in rats' skeletal and hepatic muscle tissues caused by aerobic and resistance training. Methods: 24 Wistar rats were divided into sedentary (S), aerobic (AE), and resistance training (R) groups. Blood glucose, total cholesterol, and serum triglycerides were measured periodically. After euthanasia, body mass was measured to calculate the total mass gain during the experiment. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) was measured. Adipose tissue was extracted to calculate its percentage relative to body mass and the liver, soleus, and gastrocnemius muscles for morphological analyses and concentrations of glycogen, lipids, and Tumor Necrosis Factor α (TNF-α). The Kruskall-Wallis test and Dunn's post-test were performed for statistical analysis, adopting p<0.05. Results: Both training models reduced the percentage of adipose tissue, body mass gain, and hepatic TNF-α concentration (p<0.05). AE increased serum HDL, gastrocnemius fiber diameter and reduced the fractal dimension in the soleus (p<0.05). R reduced blood glucose and serum and liver lipids, increased liver and soleus glycogen concentrations, increased gastrocnemius fiber diameter, and decreased TNF-α (p<0.05). Conclusion: Both training models reduced body mass, relative visceral adipose tissue, serum total cholesterol concentration, and liver inflammation. However, resistance training was more effective in promoting metabolic effects in the liver and skeletal muscle and reducing muscle inflammation in rats. Level of Evidence V; Expert Opinion.
ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Introduction: The recovery interval (RI) between sets and exercises has received attention from strength training (ST) researchers, to understand the relationship of rest on performance maintenance, especially the total load in a training session. It is known that each individual responds in a specific way to the training stimulus. So, what would be the effect of the different recovery interval strategies on the strength performance? Objective: Compare the different recovery intervals in strength training volume, considering the number of repetitions in healthy adults. Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis based on methodological criteria, comparing fixed and self-selected RI on training volume, identified by the number of repetitions performed in a weight training program. Three electronic databases (Pubmed, VHL Virtual Health Library, Ebsco Sportdiscus) were analyzed, combining the expressions "resistance training", "resistance exercise", "strength exercise", "recovery interval", "rest interval", "interval auto suggested", "auto range selected" with "AND" and "OR" combination. Results: Pooled data from five studies showed a large significant effect in favor of the experimental group (>2 minutes) (MD: 1.24; 95%-CI [0.78; 1.71]; z: 5.25, Q:1.08; p < 0.01), since in the studies, recovery interval allowed a greater training volume. Conclusion: Longer RI seems be better, for maintaining total training volume, although there is no consensus for different training objectives against the self-selected RI. Thus, we imagine that this strategy may be important in the organizing a bodybuilding exercise program. Level of Evidence I; Systematic Review and Meta Analysis.
Nível de Evidencia I; Revisão Sistemática e Meta Análise.
ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is characterized by different factors, such as chronic diffuse muscle pain (CDMP), fatigue and psycho-emotional changes. Among the animal models that mimic FMS, the acid saline model is consolidated in the development and maintenance of CDMP. Resistance training (RT) has been an effective method for reducing pain in FMS. Thus, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of resistance training on nociceptive and motor responses in an animal model of chronic diffuse muscular pain. METHODS: Twenty-four male Wistar rats were allocated into four groups: resistance training, RT control, amitriptyline (AMITRIP) and AMITRIP control; all treatment protocols lasted 4 weeks. CDMP was induced in all mice. Then, the animals were treated with low-intensity RT (40% 1 maximum repetition) and AMITRIP (10 mg/kg/day). The mechanical paw withdrawal threshold, locomotor activity and muscle strength were evaluated. RESULTS: Animals treated with both RT and AMITRIP showed an increase in the mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (p<0.05) compared to their controls, suggesting a reduction in mechanical hyperalgesia. There was no improvement in locomotor activity in all groups (p>0.05). Animals with CDMP that underwent RT showed an increase in hindlimb muscle strength (p<0.0001) compared to the RT control group. CONCLUSION: Low-intensity resistance training resulted in antihyperalgesic effects and improved muscle strength in animals submitted to the CDMP model.

Introduction: Older adults (OA) represent a growing population group that is especially susceptible to a loss of physical fitness associated with functional impairment. Traditional resistance training (TRT) has proven to be effective, improving or limiting the loss of muscle mass and frailty. Functional training (FT) has emerged as an affordable alternative to prevent physical changes caused by aging. However, there is little evidence regarding the effectiveness of functional training, versus traditional resistance training, on physical capacity in older adults. Purpose: To systematically review the effectiveness of FT, compared to TRT, on improving physical fitness in OA. Methodology: Pubmed, SPORTDiscus (EBSCO), SCOPUS, PEDro, and Web of Science databases were consulted. In addition, search strategies were performed, including the terms "resistance training," "aged," "physical fitness," and "functional training." Results: Five articles meeting inclusion criteria were identified. From the qualitative analysis conducted, it was observed that both FT and TRT training are effective in improving various manifestations of strength. In addition, compared to TRT, FT presents a higher proportion of effectiveness on functional fitness elements such as cardiorespiratory capacity (3.3 times), agility (2.7 times), and functional lower body strength (1.7 to 2.8 times). Conclusion: Both FT and TRT can be valid alternatives to improve general physical fitness in OA. Likewise, EF is more effective on parameters related to functionality in OA.

Motor Imagination (MI) is the mental representation of a motor act without the actual execution of the movement. It activates the same brain areas as real movement, even in the presence of paralysis, missing limb or vision, and can be used in the process of conserving and stimulating brain engrams in the process of motor recovery of a paralyzed limb. Method: We report a 34-year-old patient with right hemiplegia due to ischemic stroke. He performed exercises with a Physical Educator professional, twice a week, 50 minutes/session, for 19 weeks, in addition to the conventional multidisciplinary rehabilitation program. The intervention was based on MI for flexion and extension of the knee on the paralyzed side, followed by the attempt of the same active movement. Results: Active range of motion (ROM_A) of the right knee flexors started at 217° with the minimum equipment load (11 lbs). Then, the professional asked the patient to imagine that he was performing the movement and then try to perform it. After 19 weeks, ROM_A was 112° Conclusion: The ROM_A gain of 8.48° for knee flexion of the paralyzed hemibody represents a clinically important minimal difference in post-stroke patients. MI increases the cognitive demand on the brain's motor networks, increasing plasticity, resulting in motor gains that impact the prognosis of capacity and functionality, justifying its use as a training method in post-stroke recovery. MI associated with strength training in rehabilitation contributes to the recovery of post stroke sequelae.
ABSTRACT
Introduction: Resistance training (RT) is part of the physical fitness program of a large number of people. In these programs, periodic evaluations are carried out to plan and monitor the effects of training. Recently, in addition to the traditional physical evaluations, it has been recommended the inclusion of functional tests to evaluate the movement pattern of individuals. Objective: To assess the functional performance of women and men participating of RT. Methods: Fifty-seven participants (27 women, 26.2 ± 5.1 years old; and 30 men, 26.3 ± 5.8 years old), who are physically active and experienced in RT, were assessed through the use of Functional Movement Screen (FMS®). The total score was compared between the genders using the Mann-Whitney U test, and the distribution of the partial scores (scores of individual tests) and the proportion of asymmetric scores between groups was performed through the Chi-Square test (p < 0.05). Results: Women and men presented, respectively, a total score of 14.6 ± 1.5 and 15.3 ± 1.4 points, and there was no significant difference between genders. Considering the partial scores, men performed better in the trunk stability (p = 0.001) and deep squat (p = 0.024) tests, while women presented higher scores in the shoulder mobility test (p = 0.001). In the latter, besides presenting worse results, men were significantly more asymmetrical (p = 0.002). Conclusions: The results of this study suggest the necessity of a more detailed observation of the partial scores in order to plan personalized training programs that consider the participants' individual needs.

ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION: Intrinsic capacity (IC) is a construct that encompasses physical and mental capacities important for self-care and healthy aging. Understanding the potential role of resistance training with and without instability to promote IC needs to be clarified. OBJECTIVE: To assess the impact of resistance training on intrinsic capacity levels in older adults with cognitive complaints. METHODS: Older adults with cognitive complaints (n=67) were randomly assigned to either 12 weeks of traditional RE (n=23), RE with instability devices (REI) (n=22), or control (n=22). Both training groups performed three sets of 10-15 repetitions. REI group performed each exercise using instability devices. The control group received weekly health education classes. IC domains were analyzed using mobility and gait velocity (locomotor), global and executive functioning (cognitive), grip strength and six-minute walking test (vitality), and depressive symptoms and self-efficacy (psychological) through z-composite scores. We computed global levels of IC by the sum of each composite score. RESULTS: A significant within-group difference (improvement) in overall levels of IC (∆REI = +1.69, ∆RE = +1.30) and all their domains (Locomotion: ∆REI = +2.32, ∆RE = +3.21; Cognition: ∆REI = +2.31; Vitality: ∆REI = +1.23, ∆RE = +1.42; and Psychological: ∆REI = -0.65, ∆RE = -0.62). However, no between-group differences were observed at the completion of the trial. Sensitivity analysis merging training groups revealed a between-group difference for the locomotor domain (+1.97, p=0.045). CONCLUSION: Resistance training with and without instability devices did not improve IC levels among older adults with cognitive complaints.

Abstract Exercise improves quality of life and life expectancy, and its benefits outweigh its associated risks. However, athletes are at risk for sudden cardiac death, which occurs more frequently in them than in sedentary people, secondary to silent heart disease. Preparticipation evaluation varies by country and is a challenge for physicians in deciding whether to clear an individual for exercise or sports. Resistance training carries additional risks secondary to the cardiovascular adaptations it causes, such as cardiac remodeling, which may become pathological and increase the risk of arrhythmias, thus leading to sudden cardiac death. The main objective of this article is to propose a preparticipation evaluation in different age groups, based on current evidence in the literature for detecting and preventing cardiovascular diseases which can lead to sudden cardiac death in an athlete during sports practice.
ABSTRACT
Objective:To evaluate the effects of different types of resistance training on the treatment and prevention of sarcopenia in the elderly. Methods:A computer search was conducted in seven databases including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, and Wanfang, to identify randomized controlled trials published from the inception of the databases to March 2023, for the assessment of the preventive effects of resistance training on sarcopenia in older adults. Two reviewers independently performed the literature search, selection, and quality assessment of the included studies.A Meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.3.Results:A total of 12 studies with 1018 participants were included.Compared with the control group, resistance training significantly improved the skeletal muscle mass index( MD=0.34, 95% CI: 0.24~0.44, P<0.01), grip strength( MD=1.63, 95% CI: 0.73~2.53, P<0.01), and 5 times sit-to-stand test performance( MD=-1.99, 95% CI: -2.48--1.51, P<0.01).However, there was no significant improvement observed in muscle mass( MD=1.28, 95% CI: -0.38-2.94, P>0.05), knee extensor strength( SMD=1.71, 95% CI: -0.51-3.93, P>0.05), or gait speed( MD=0.03, 95% CI: -0.03-0.08, P>0.05). Conclusions:Resistance training improves the skeletal muscle mass index, grip strength and the time taken to perform the 5 times sit-to-stand test in the elderly, thus delaying degenerative skeletal muscle changes in older adults with sarcopenia and offering a preventive effect on sarcopenia in healthy senior adults.
ABSTRACT
Objective:To observe the effect of nutrition intervention and exercise rehabilitation treatment on the sarcopenia in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods:It was a cross-sectional study. From March 2019 to September 2020, 101 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes complicated with sarcopenia treated in the Department of Endocrinology of Tianjin Third Central Hospital were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into four groups with propensity score matching method: sarcopenia education group without nutrition and resistance training group (group A, n=22), simple nutrition intervention group (group B, n=28), nutritional intervention combined with resistance training group (group C, n=27) and nutritional intervention combined with aerobic and resistance training group (group D, n=24). All the patients were intervened for 24 weeks, two patients in groups C and D dropped due to their own reasons. The 25-dihydroxy vitamin D3 (25(OH)D 3), grip strength, muscle mass of the limbs and short physical performance battery (SPPB) scores were measured before and 24 weeks after the intervention in all the participants. Results:After the intervention, the 25(OH)D 3 levels in the B, C, D groups was (33.45±4.05), (33.68±4.69), (34.28±5.58) μg/L, respectively, all were higher than those before the treatment (all P<0.01), and there was no significant differences among the three groups ( P>0.05). The muscle mass in the B, C, D groups after intervention was 5.650 (5.102, 6.658), 6.601 (6.007, 7.156) and 6.520 (6.017, 7.302) kg/m 2, respectively, all were significantly higher than those before the treatment (all P<0.01); the muscle mass in group C and D increased more significantly than that in group B ( P<0.01), but there was no significant differences between group C and D ( P>0.05). After the intervention, the muscle strength in the C and D groups was 20.60 (19.20, 24.55) kg and 21.15 (19.43, 26.63) kg, and the SPPB scores was 8.00 (7.00, 9.00) points and 8.00 (8.00, 9.00) points, respectively, all were higher than those before the intervention (all P<0.01), but there was no significant differences between the two groups(both P>0.05). The SPPB function score in group D was better than that in group C, the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Nutritional intervention can improve the muscle mass in elderly type 2 diabetes patients with sarcopenia. Combined with rehabilitation training, the muscle strength and muscle function of these patients could also be improved, and the improvement of muscle mass is better than that in patients receiving nutritional intervention only. In terms of increasing muscle strength, the two kinds of rehabilitation training are equivalent. If combined with aerobic exercise, it can also improve the muscle function of these patients.
