ABSTRACT
Introduction. Metabolic bone disease of premature infants is a rare complication characterized by a lower mineral content in bone tissue. Objective. To establish the incidence of metabolic bone disease in premature infants and to determine associated risk factors. Materials and methods. We conducted a descriptive prospective cohort study for one year in all newborns under 32 gestational weeks, or 1,500 g, at the Hospital Universitario de Santander to determine the incidence of metabolic bone disease. We collected demographic data and prenatal histories of the selected patients, and later, we measured serum alkaline phosphatase and serum phosphorus at the third week of birth, having as reference values for diagnosis less than 5.6 mg/dl for the first one and more than 500 UI/L for the second one. We applied statistical tools for data analysis, such as average proportions, dispersion, distribution and association measures, and binomial regression. Results. From a total of 58 patients, 7 had a diagnosis of metabolic bone disease, with an incidence of 12%. The weight was reported as an independent variable for the development of the disease, being significant in children under 1,160 g, as well as prolonged parenteral nutrition for more than 24 days. When performing the multivariate analysis, low weight and short time of parenteral nutrition appeared as risk factors; in the same way, maternal age below 22 years is associated with a higher relative risk, even more than a newborn weight inferior to 1,160 g. Conclusion. Establishing an early intervention in patients with metabolic bone disease enhancing risk factors, such as low weight and prolonged parenteral nutrition, is critical to prevent severe complications.

Phosphorus (P) use efficiency is crucial for sorghum production. P acquisition efficiency is the most important component of P use efficiency. The early-stage evaluation of plant development is a useful tool for identifying P-efficient genotypes. This study aimed to identify sorghum hybrids that are efficient in P use efficiency and assess the genetic diversity among hybrids based on traits related to P acquisition efficiency. Thus, 38 sorghum hybrids and two inbred lines (checks) were evaluated under low and high P in a paper pouch system with nutrient solution. Biomass and root traits related to P efficiency were measured. There was no interaction between genotypes and P levels concerning all evaluated traits. The biomass and root traits, except root diameter, presented smaller means under low P than high P. Efficient and inefficient hybrids under each P level were identified. The genetic diversity assessment grouped these genotypes in different clusters. The hybrids AG1090, MSK326, AG1060, 1G100, AS 4639, DKB 540, and DKB 590 were superior under low-P and high-P. Hybrids SC121, 1236020 e 1167017 presented the lowest means than all other hybrids, under both conditions. The evaluated hybrids showed phenotypic diversity for traits related to P acquisition, such as root length and root surface area, which can be useful for establishing selection strategies for sorghum breeding programs and increasing P use efficiency.

Chronic end-stage renal disease increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and may lead to defects in bone mineralization. In order to prevent these risks, normal plasma phosphorus levels should be maintained. Achieving this goal depends on dialysis, chelators, and phosphorus intake, mainly of inorganic origin, incorporated through food supplements. Nutritional interventions are crucial in the treatment of these patients. The objective is to facilitate nutritional strategies to a group of pediatric dialysis patients, through food education, to increase the consumption of natural foods, decreasing the intake of inorganic phosphorus, especially from processed meat products. Materials and methods: a pediatric population undergoing dialysis was studied. An educational program was prepared with personalized care, nutritional instruction, and monthly follow-up visits, followed by a workshop. Results: n: 17 patients, mean age 12.3 years, 53% male, 88% on hemodialysis. Prior to the intervention, 64.7% consumed processed meat products. After the workshop, 58.8% decreased their consumption, 41.2% increased the intake of homemade food, 53% incorporated new seasonings, of whom 89% reported better acceptance of the preparations when they were incorporated. Conclusions: hyperphosphatemia is observed in around 50% of patients undergoing dialysis and is associated with a 20% to 40% increased risk of mortality. The presence of hidden phosphorus in food and the lack of adherence point to the need for the development of educational programs that promote collaborative learning, focusing on food-preparation practices. These programs should provide tools that facilitate a natural diet, reducing the consumption of ultra-processed food (AU)

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the effects of novel bioactive glasses (BG) including PSC with high phosphorus component and FBG with fluorine-doped element on promoting remineralization of artificial dentin caries.@*METHODS@#(1) BGs were used in this study as follows: PSC (10.8%P2O5-54.2%SiO2-35.0%CaO, mol.%) were synthesized using phytic acid as the phosphorus precursor through sol-gel method. FBG (6.1%P2O5-37.0%SiO2-53.9%CaO-3.0%CaF2, mol.%) and 45S5(6.0%P2O5-45.0%SiO2-24.5%CaO-24.5%Na2O, mol.%) were synthesized by traditional melt method. (2) The above BGs were soaked in simulated body fluid (SBF) for 24 hours. Then X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to analyze the formation of hydroxyapatite (HA) crystals. (3) Prepared 1 mm thick dentin slices were soaked in 17% ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) for 1 week to demineralize the dentin. Then the dentin slices treated by BG were soaked in SBF for 1 week. Field emission scanning electron micro-scopy (FE-SEM) was used to observe the surface morphology of the dentin slices. (4) Four cavities were prepared to 1 mm depth in each 2 mm thick dentin slice, then were treated with lactic acid for 2 weeks to form the artificial dentin caries. Wax, mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), PSC and FBG were used to fill four cavities as blank control group, MTA group, PSC group and FBG group respectively. Then the spe-cimens were soaked in SBF for 4 weeks. The changes of depth and density of demineralized dentin were analyzed using Micro-CT before filling and after 2 and 4 weeks filling.@*RESULTS@#(1) PSC and FBG promoted mineral formation on the surfaces of the demineralized dentin. And the speed was faster and crystallinity was higher in PSC group than the FBG and 45S5 groups. (2) The increased mineral density of artificial dentin caries in PSC group were (185.98 ± 55.66) mg/cm3 and (213.64 ± 36.01) mg/cm3 2 and 4 weeks after filling respectively, which were significantly higher than the control group [(20.38 ± 7.55) mg/cm3, P=0.006; (36.46 ± 10.79) mg/cm3, P=0.001]. At meanwhile, PSC group was also higher than MTA group [(57.29 ± 10.09) mg/cm3; (111.02 ± 22.06) mg/cm3], and it had statistical difference (P=0.015; P=0.006). The depth of remineralized dentin in PSC group were (40.0 ± 16.9) μm and (54.5 ± 17.8) μm 2 and 4 weeks respectively, which were also statistically different from the control group (P =0.010;P=0.001). There were no statistical differences between the control group and MTA group. The above effects of FBG group were between PSC and MTA.@*CONCLUSION@#PSC has advantages in the speed, quality and depth of mineral deposition in the demineralized layer of artificial dentin caries. It would be expected to be an ideal material to promote the remineralization of dentin caries.

Water eutrophication poses great threats to protection of water environment. Microbial remediation of water eutrophication has shown high efficiency, low consumption and no secondary pollution, thus becoming an important approach for ecological remediation. In recent years, researches on denitrifying phosphate accumulating organisms and their application in wastewater treatment processes have received increasing attention. Different from the traditional nitrogen and phosphorus removal process conducted by denitrifying bacteria and phosphate accumulating organisms, the denitrifying phosphate accumulating organisms can simultaneously remove nitrogen and phosphorus under alternated anaerobic and anoxic/aerobic conditions. It is worth noting that microorganisms capable of simultaneously removing nitrogen and phosphorus absolutely under aerobic conditions have been reported in recent years, but the mechanisms remain unclear. This review summarizes the species and characteristics of denitrifying phosphate accumulating organisms and the microorganisms capable of performing simultaneous nitrification-denitrification and phosphorous removal. Moreover, this review analyzes the relationship between nitrogen removal and phosphorus removal and the underlying mechanisms, discusses the challenges of denitrifying phosphorus removal, and prospects future research directions, with the aim to facilitate process improvement of denitrifying phosphate accumulating organisms.

Objective: To investigate the clinical presentation and genetic characteristics of malignant infantile osteopetrosis. Methods: This was a retrospective case study. Thirty-seven children with malignant infantile osteopetrosis admitted into Beijing Children's Hospital from January 2013 to September 2022 were enrolled in this study. According to the gene mutations, the patients were divided into the CLCN7 group and the TCIRG1 group. Clinical characteristics, laboratory tests, and prognosis were compared between two groups. Wilcoxon test or Fisher exact test were used in inter-group comparison. The survival rate was estimated with the Kaplan-Meier method and the Log-Rank test was used to compare the difference in survival between groups. Results: Among the 37 cases, there were 22 males and 15 females. The age of diagnosis was 0.5 (0.2, 1.0) year. There were 13 patients (35%) and 24 patients (65%) with mutations in CLCN7 and TCIRGI gene respectively. Patients in the CLCN7 group had an older age of diagnosis than those in the TCIRGI group (1.2 (0.4, 3.6) vs. 0.4 (0.2, 0.6) years, Z=-2.60, P=0.008). The levels of serum phosphorus (1.7 (1.3, 1.8) vs. 1.1 (0.8, 1.6) mmol/L, Z=-2.59, P=0.010), creatine kinase isoenzyme (CK-MB) (457 (143, 610) vs. 56 (37, 82) U/L, Z=-3.38, P=0.001) and the level of neutrophils (14.0 (9.9, 18.1) vs. 9.2 (6.7, 11.1) ×109/L, Z=-2.07, P=0.039) at diagnosis were higher in the CLCN7 group than that in the TCIRG1 group. However, the level of D-dimer in the CLCN7 group was lower than that in the TCIRGI group (2.7 (1.0, 3.1) vs. 6.3 (2.5, 9.7) μg/L, Z=2.83, P=0.005). After hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, there was no significant difference in 5-year overall survival rate between the two groups (92.3%±7.4% vs. 83.3%±7.6%, χ²=0.56, P=0.456). Conclusions: TCIRGI gene mutations are more common in children with osteopetrosis. Children with TCIRGI gene mutations have younger age, lower levels of phosphorus, CK-MB, and neutrophils and higher level of D-dimer at the onset. After hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, patients with CLCN7 or TCIRGI gene mutations have similar prognosis.

Excessive application of chemical fertilizer has caused many problems in Angelica dahurica var. formosana planting, such as yield decline and quality degradation. In order to promote the green cultivation mode of A. dahurica var. formosana and explore rhizosphere fungus resources, the rhizosphere fungi with nitrogen fixation, phosphorus solubilization, potassium solubilization, iron-producing carrier, and IAA-producing properties were isolated and screened in the rhizosphere of A. dahurica var. formosana from the genuine and non-genuine areas, respectively. The strains were identified comprehensively in light of the morphological characteristics and ITS rDNA sequences, and the growth-promoting effect of the screened strains was verified by pot experiment. The results showed that 37 strains of growth-promoting fungi were isolated and screened from the rhizosphere of A. dahurica var. formosana, mostly belonging to Fusarium. The cultured rhizosphere growth-promoting fungi of A. dahurica var. formosana were more abundant and diverse in the genuine producing areas than in the non-genuine producing areas. Among all strains, Aspergillus niger ZJ-17 had the strongest growth promotion potential. Under the condition of no fertilization outdoors, ZJ-17 inoculation significantly promoted the growth, yield, and accumulation of effective components of A. dahurica var. formosana planted in the soil of genuine and non-genuine producing areas, with yield increases of 73.59% and 37.84%, respectively. To a certain extent, it alleviated the restriction without additional fertilization on the growth of A. dahurica var. formosana. Therefore, A. niger ZJ-17 has great application prospects in increasing yield and quality of A. dahurica var. formosana and reducing fertilizer application and can be actually applied in promoting the growth of A. dahurica var. formosana and producing biofertilizer.

This study aimed to explore the correlation between rhizosphere soil microorganisms of wild Arnebia euchroma and the content of medicinal components to provide guidance for the selection of the ecological planting base. The total DNA of rhizosphere soil microorganisms of wild A. euchroma was extracted, and the microbial community structure of rhizosphere soil microorganisms was analyzed by IlluminaMiseq high-throughput sequencing technology. The content of total hydroxynaphthoquinone pigment and β,β'-dimethylacrylalkannin in medicinal materials was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). The physicochemical pro-perties of rhizosphere soil of wild A. euchroma in main producing areas were determined, and the correlation of soil microbial abundance with index component content and soil physicochemical properties was analyzed by SPSS software. The results showed that the species composition of rhizosphere fungi and bacteria in A. euchroma from different habitats was similar at the phylum and genus levels, but their relative abundance, richness index(Chao1), and community diversity(Simpson) index were different. Correlation analysis showed that the content of available phosphorus in soil was positively correlated with the content of total hydroxynaphthoquinone pigment and β,β'-dimethylacrylalkannin, and the abundance of five fungal genera such as Solicoccozyma and six bacterial genera such as Pseudo-nocardia and Bradyrhizobium was positively correlated with the content of medicinal components in medicinal materials. The abundance of Bradyrhizobium was significantly positively correlated with the content of β,β'-dimethylacrylalkanin. The abundance of fungi such as Archaeorhizomyces was significantly positively correlated with the content of available phosphorus in rhizosphere soil, and Bradyrhizobium was significantly negatively correlated with soil pH. Therefore, the abundance of fungi and bacteria in the rhizosphere of A. euchroma has a certain correlation with the medicinal components and the physicochemical properties of the rhizosphere soil, which can provide a scientific basis for the selection of ecological planting bases in the later stage.

Endodontic infection occurs mainly after pulp tissue contamination by a carious process, leading to bacterial colonization of root canal system and inflammatory response of periapical tissues, followed by formation of apical periodontitis (AP). It is widely known that smoking has harmful impacts on oral and systemic health and is considered a risk factor for periodontal diseases. The objective of this research was to investigate the influence of smoking on the development of AP in rats. Thirty-two male Wistar rats were divided into 4 experimental groups (n = 8): C - Control (no induced AP and no cigarette smoke inhalation); CSI (cigarette smoke inhalation); AP (induced apical periodontitis); CSI + AP (cigarette smoke inhalation and induced apical periodontitis). To inhale cigarette smoke, group with five animals remained in a smoking chamber inhaling smoke from 10 cigarettes for 8 minutes, three times daily, for 50 days. After 20 days of cigarette smoke inhalation, pulp chamber access was performed to induce apical periodontitis in the first mandibular right molar, which remained with pulp chamber exposed to oral cavity for 30 days in animals in the AP and CSI + AP group. During these 30 days after the AP induction, animals in the CSI + AP and CSI group continued to inhale cigarette smoke. On the 50th day, animals were euthanized and blood sample collected to assess serum levels of nicotine, cotinine, alkaline phosphatase, calcium, phosphorus, red series and white series. The hemimandibles were removed and scanned in microtomograph to assess bone volume and histologically processed to assess inflammatory profile and expression of cytokines IL-6, IL-1ß, TNF-α and bone metabolism markers RANKL and OPG. Data were tabulated and statistically analyzed using Mann-Whitney tests for nonparametric data and analysis of variation test for parametric data, with a significance level of P< 0.05. Regarding histological analysis, CSI+AP group showed more intense inflammatory infiltrate compared to other groups (P < 0.05). Histometric analysis showed a larger area of bone resorption in the CSI + AP group, also observed in the microtomographic analysis (P< 0.05). Group CSI+AP had elevated pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6, IL-1ß, TNF-α expression (P< 0.05). The RANKL cytokines were also more expressed in the CSI+AP group (P< 0.05), while OPG was more expressed in the AP group (P< 0.05). The hematological analysis revealed an increase in the concentration of red blood cells, hemoglobin, and leukocytes for CSI+AP (P< 0.05). Serum calcium levels were lower in CSI+AP (P> 0.05), and alkaline phosphatase and calcium remained constant in all experimental groups (P> 0.05). The serum concentrations of nicotine and cotinine in the CSI and CSI+AP group were compatible with human smokers(AU)

Although richness and distribution of woody species in the Cerrado physiognomies have been extensively studied, the shifts of woody species from savanna physiognomies to dry forests have not yet been addressed. Here, we investigate the effect of soil physical-chemical traits on the woody species turnover between adjacent cerrado stricto sensu and dry forest physiognomies. Woody species were surveyed, and soil and topographic variables measured, in 30 10×40 m plots systematically distributed, with 15 plots in each physiognomy. We found a spatially structured distribution of woody species, and differences of soil traits between cerrado stricto sensu and dry forest areas, mainly related to the aluminum saturation, base saturation, and available phosphorus. Aluminum saturation increased toward the savanna area, while base saturation increased toward the dry forest. Most woody species predominated in one physiognomy, such as Callisthene major in the cerrado stricto sensu and Anadenanthera colubrina in the dry forest. Only 20% of the species were widely distributed across both physiognomies or, not often, restricted to the intermediary values of the soil gradient. General results indicate that contrasting soil traits between cerrado stricto sensu and dry forest produce a strongly spatially organized and sharp transition in terms of species distribution between these physiognomies.

Application of different fertilizers to check the efficiency of expression of Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) gene in one of the leading commercialized crops (cotton) against Lepidopteran species is of great concern. The expression of Cry protein level can be controlled by the improvement of nutrients levels. Therefore, the myth of response of Cry toxin to different combinations of NP fertilizers was explored in three Bt cotton cultivars. Combinations include three levels of nitrogen and three levels of phosphorus fertilizers. Immunostrips and Cry gene(s) specific primer based PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) analysis were used for the presence of Bt gene that unveiled the presence of Cry1Ac gene only. Further, the ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kit was used to quantify the expression of Cry1Ac protein. Under various NP fertilizers rates, the level of toxin protein exhibited highly significant differences. The highest toxin level mean was found to be 2.3740 and 2.1732 µg/g under the treatment of N150P75 kg ha-¹ combination while the lowest toxin level mean was found to be 0.9158 and 0.7641 µg/g at the N50P25 kg ha-¹ level at 80 and 120 DAS (Days After Sowing), respectively. It was concluded from the research that the usage of NP fertilizers has a positive relation with the expression of Cry1Ac toxin in Bt cotton. We recommend using the N150P50 kg ha-1 level as the most economical and practicable fertilizer instead of the standard dose N100P50 kg ha-¹ to get the desired level of Cry1Ac level for long lasting plant resistance (<1.5). The revised dose of fertilizer may help farmers to avoid the cross-resistance development in contradiction of insect pests.

Chagas disease caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi affects millions of people worldwide and does not have an effective drug for its etiological treatment. The available drugs, nifurtimox and benznidazole, have low cure rates with side effects and toxicity that make it difficult for patients to adhere to therapy. This fact drives the search for treatment alternatives that are more effective and less aggressive. Therefore, this work aimed to evaluate the clinical effects presented by Rattus norvergicus infected by T. cruzi and treated with ultradiluted solutions of Lycopodium clavatum or Phosphorus. The study involved 93 forty five day old rats intraperitoneally infected with 5x106 blood trypomastigotes forms of the Y strain of T. cruzi, distributed in the following groups: Healthy SD (n=13) - non-infected and untreated control, CI group (n =27) - infected control and treated with 7% hydroalcoholic solution (ethanol water), LY group dilution 1:1x1026 (n=27) - infected and treated with Lycopodium, PH group dilution 1:1x1026 (n=26) - infected and treated with Phosphorum. The animals were clinically evaluated through the parameters weight, temperature, water and feed consumption, amount of excreta, intestinal diameter and length, coat appearance and feces consistency. This study showed that the parameters used were important for the clinical definition of infection of Rattus novergicus, Wistar lineage by T. cruzi. It showed that LY and PH drugs have beneficial effects on the clinical evolution of treated animals. The use of Lycopodium clavatum and Phosphorus diluted in the ratio of 1:1x1026, showed different effects. Eight and six parameters out of fourteen analyzed showed positive effects for LY and PH, respectively. The parameters water and feed consumption, amount of excreta, diarrhea, diffuse alopecia and intestinal length showed significant differences in relation to the infected control, showing that more studies are needed with the use of ultradiluted drugs in T. cruzi infection.

Abstract Application of different fertilizers to check the efficiency of expression of Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) gene in one of the leading commercialized crops (cotton) against Lepidopteran species is of great concern. The highest toxin level mean was found to be 2.3740 and 2.1732 µg/g under the treatment of N150P75 kg ha-1 combination while the lowest toxin level mean was found to be 0.9158 and 0.7641 µg/g at the N50P25 kg ha-1 level at 80 and 120 DAS (Days After Sowing), respectively. It was concluded from the research that the usage of NP fertilizers has a positive relation with the expression of Cry1Ac toxin in Bt cotton. We recommend using the N150P50 kg ha-1 level as the most economical and practicable fertilizer instead of the standard dose N100P50 kg ha-1 to get the desired level of Cry1Ac level for long lasting plant resistance (<1.5). The revised dose of fertilizer may help farmers to avoid the cross-resistance development in contradiction of insect pests.

ABSTRACT Objective To describe the prevalence of inadequate mineral intake and associated factors with calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus, and sodium intakes in individuals aged 15-24.9 years. Methods We analyzed 476 individuals from the Brazilian Study of Nutrition and Health, stratified into two age groups (adolescents aged 15-18.9 years and young adults aged 19-24.9 years). Mineral intake was obtained from two 24-hour Dietary Recalls. The values of the Estimated Average Requirement and the Tolerable Upper Intake Levels were considered to calculate the prevalence of inadequacy. Multiple logistic regression was used to determine associated factors with mineral intake. Results Calcium and magnesium had the highest prevalence of inadequacy (>83%) in both sexes and age groups. Sodium intake was above Tolerable Upper Intake Levels for the majority of the population studied (>68%). The intake of all minerals was different between the sexes for the two age groups (p<0.01), and it was not different between age groups (p>0.05). The associated factors with mineral intake were sex (calcium, iron, phosphorus, and sodium), age group (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and sodium), and physical activity (calcium, iron, and magnesium), followed by socioeconomic level (zinc and sodium) and body weight status (iron and sodium). Conclusion The expressive portion of the studied population is at nutritional risk for calcium, magnesium, and sodium. Such data can contribute to the national public policy revision that is related to micronutrient intake and the adoption of healthier habits by adolescents and young adults.

ADIÇÃO (p=0,2853): 0 - 4,37(2,60)a, S - 4,04(3,07)a, CS - 3,79(2,42)a. (AU)
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of adding calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P), in amounts corresponding to the saturation concentration (SC) and the solubility limit (SL), to bleaching gels containing different thickening agents on the demineralization of tooth enamel. Bleaching gels containing 35% hydrogen peroxide (PH) were manipulated and the thickeners were used: carbopol 980 (CB); aerosil 200 (SP); poloxamer 407 (PX); guar gum (GG) and hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC). The baseline readings of Knoop microhardness of the enamel using a microhardness, surface roughness using a contact profilometer and color using a colorimetric reflectance spectrophotometer were taken. The specimens were divided into 5 experimental groups according to the type of thickener. Each group was divided into three subgroups (n=20), according to mineral supplementation (0 - no supplementation; SC - addition of Ca and P according to the SC calculated for that thickener; SL - addition of the maximum amount of Ca and P according to SL). In addition, three control groups (n=20) were prepared, namely: NC (negative control ultra pure water); PC (positive control 35% pH without the addition of any mineral); CC (commercial positive control - commercial Whiteness HP gel). Were applied 0.050 g of the respective bleaching gels to each specimen for 45 min. The microhardness and surface roughness of the samples were measured immediately after bleaching. All samples were then immersed in artificial saliva for 7 days and the final color evaluated. Data from the experimental groups were statistically analyzed with 2-way ANOVA (THICKENER TYPE x MINERAL SUPPLEMENTATION) and Tukey test. Comparison with control groups was performed using Dunnett's test (ï¡ = 5%). For all measurements performed, ANOVA showed significant differences for the two factors (p<0.05). For microhardness change, the Tukey test results were: THICKENER TYPE (p=0.0001): HEC - 15.40(6.97)a, GG - 10.31(5.78)b, CB - 7.49(2.87)c, PX - 4 .60(4.96)d, SP - 0.57(2.43)e; ADDITION (p=0.0001): 0 - 12.34(7.22)a, SC -10.31(5.76)b, SL -7.49(6.09)c. For roughness change (p=0.0001), the results were: TYPE OF THICKENER (p=0.0001): SP - 5.19(23.36), GG - 9.70(17.75)ab, PX - 15.95(20.79)b, HEC - 53.58(71.82)c, CB - 55.49(63.69)c; ADDITION (p=0.0001): 0 - 79.62(58.70)a, SC - 3.23(12.08)a, SL - 1.09(9.44)b. For the color change (ΔE), the results were: TYPE OF THICKENER (p=0.0001): SP - 5.40(2.92)a, GG - 3.13(1.83)a, PX - 3.18(2.57)ab, HEC - 3.82(2.05)bc, CB - 4.79(3.26)c. ADDITION (p=0.2853): 0 - 4.37(2.60)a, SC - 4.04(3.07)a, SL - 3.79(2.42)a. The results for the Dunnett test for microhardness were: the SP, SP-S and SP-CS groups did not show differences with the CN group, and only the GG and HEC-S groups did not show differences with the CP group and the HEC-S for the CPC. For roughness, the CB-CS, SP, PX-S, PX-CS, GG-S and GG-CS groups did not show differences in relation to the CN group and all groups showed significant differences for the CP and CPC groups. By the results of this study, we can conclude that: The addition of calcium and/or phosphorus in amounts corresponding to the SC or to the SL of the aerosil group only prevented the drop in hardness and the increase in roughness.
Abstract Introduction: to know the importance of the investigations that relate the bioavailability of phosphorus in different groups of foods of animal, vegetable and industrialized origin and its effect on the progression in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Methodology: the review is based on a literary search that was carried out on web pages such as: PUBMED, Redalyc, SciELO, SCIHUB and Google Academic. Each of the studies was selected discarding those that were not quantitative, original, complete, with clear methodology, carried out in mammals, and that in their results specified the bioavailability of phosphorus in percentages. All the studies were read, placing main emphasis and interest on the percentage of phosphorus bioavailability when consuming different food groups. Three matrices were made according to the origin of the food and the bioavailability of phosphorus that is absorbed in the body; grouping them into foods of animal, vegetable and industrialized origin and additives. Results: it was found that industrialized foods and additives show a phosphorus bioavailability of 90-100%, those of animal origin 40-80%, those of plant origin 30%. Conclusions: The additives used in industrialized foods promote hyperphosphatemia and thus accelerate the progression of chronic kidney disease, unlike foods of animal and vegetable origin that are less harmful to health. This guides the training of the health sector, expanding its knowledge in the nutritional treatment of the patient.

This study aims to investigate the effects of different magnesium supply levels on the growth, nutrient absorption and distribution, and quality of Panax quinquefolium, and to determine the optimum content of exchangeable magnesium in soil. Three-year-old plants of P. quinquefolium were used in this study, and eight magnesium supply gradients(CK, Mg1-Mg7) were designed for indoor pot experiment(cultivation in soil). The plant growth indexes, nutrient element content in soil and plant, and root saponin content were determined at the end of the growth period. The correlation analysis of nutrient element content in aboveground and underground parts of P. quinquefolium showed significantly negative correlations of magnesium-calcium, magnesium-potassium, and magne-sium-manganese. With the increase in magnesium supply level, the biological absorption coefficient of magnesium increased, while that of total nitrogen, potassium, iron, and manganese decreased; the biological transfer coefficient of magnesium decreased, while that of nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, iron, and manganese increased. The saponin content was analyzed by principal component analysis, which showed the comprehensive score in the order of Mg4(2.537), Mg2(1.001), Mg3(0.600), Mg1(0), Mg7(-0.765), CK(-0.825), Mg6(-0.922), and Mg5(-1.663). The partial least squares-path modeling(PLS-PM) showed that the correlation coefficients of exchangeable magnesium and pH with quality were-0.748 and-0.755, respectively, which were significant. Magnesium-calcium, magnesium-potassium, and magnesium-manganese showed antagonism in the nutritional physiology of P. quinquefolium. Excessive application of magnesium can lead to the imbalance of nutrient elements in P. quinquefolium. The content of exchangeable magnesium in soil suitable for the quality formation of P. quinquefolium was 193.34-293.34 mg·kg~(-1). In addition to exchangeable magnesium, pH was also important to the quality formation of P. quinquefolium. Therefore, exchangeable magnesium and pH could be regarded as monitoring factors for the quality formation of P. quinquefolium.
