ABSTRACT
Mesenteric venous thrombosis is a potentially dangerous entity and represents a vascular acute abdomen. This uncommon abdominal catastrophe has received little attention. The diagnosis is not easy and often it is not made until laparotomy. Early recognition is important because the propagation of the infartion may be healted by appropriate treatment
