Intervención de enfermería para la capacitación sobre lactancia materna / Nursing intervention for breast feeding training

RESUMEN

Según la Organización Mundial de La Salud, podrían salvarse en el mundo más de un millón de vidas infantiles al año si todas las madres alimentaran exclusivamente con la leche materna a sus hijos los primeros 6 meses de vida. Se realizó un estudio de intervención en el hogar materno de Baraguá, área de salud Baraguá, municipio Mella, Santiago de Cuba, con el objetivo de incrementar los conocimientos sobre lactancia materna en pacientes del citado hogar. El universo estuvo constituido por 12 mujeres ingresadas en enero de 2003. Se determinó el nivel de conocimientos sobre la lactancia materna según la edad y la escolaridad antes de la intervención. Las mujeres que tuvieron más conocimientos sobre lactancia materna oscilaron entre los 20 y 35 años de edad para un 75,0 (por ciento) mientras que entre las que no conocían se incluyeron, además, mujeres con menos de 20 años y mayores de 35. Según la escolaridad, el 50,0 (por ciento) de las pacientes que dominaban los temas tenían nivel de preuniversitario y antes de la actividad de capacitación, el 66,6 (por ciento) conocían como tener suficiente leche y las posiciones más frecuentes para lactar. Al final de la intervención todas las pacientes se capacitaron en los temas de lactancia materna(AU)

ABSTRACT

According to the World Organization of The Health, they could survive in the world more than a million infantile lives a year if all the mothers fed exclusively with the maternal milk to their children the first 6 months of life. He/she was carried out an intervention study in the maternal home of Baraguá, area of health Baraguá, municipality Dents, Santiago from Cuba, with the objective of increasing the knowledge has more than enough maternal nursing in patient of the mentioned home. The universe was constituted by 12 women entered in January of 2003. The level of knowledge was determined on the maternal nursing according to the age and the escolaridad before the intervention. The women that had more knowledge have more than enough maternal nursing they oscillated between the 20 and 35 years of age for a 75,0 (percent) while among those that didn't know they were included, also, women with less than 20 years and bigger than 35. According to the escolaridad, the 50,0 (percent) of the patients that dominated the topics they had preuniversitario level and before the training activity, the 66,6 (percent) they knew as having enough milk and the most frequent positions to suckle. At the end of the intervention all the patients were qualified in the topics of maternal nursing(AU)
