Current adhesive systems in dentistry: what is being said and researched

ABSTRACT

Many adhesive systems are present in today's dentistry market. Therefore, it is difficult for dentists to choose among so many alternatives of products. Also, dentistry colleges throughout the world try to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies regarding adhesive dentistry. It is imperative that the mechanisms of current dental adhesive systems be fully understood. The purpose of this article was to review the main concepts regarding current adhesive systems, presenting the latest scientific reseaeches in this area and the future trends of in vitro and in vivo research regarding adhesive systems, so that dentists may have a profound and up-to-date view of adhesive dentistry.
