Acromegalia: a propósito de un caso / Acromegalia: a case presentation

RESUMEN

Se presenta un caso atendido en el Consultorio # 7 del Policlínico Norte de Ciego de Ávila, de aparición poco frecuente. Se trata de una paciente femenina, 50 años de edad, que acude a consulta con cefalea, debilidad muscular, dolores osteoarticulares, somnolencia, y al examen físico se encuentra crecimiento exagerado de las porciones acrales del cuerpo. Se realizaron estudios pertinentes y se arribó al diagnóstico de Acromegalia. Se realizó cirugía transeptoesfenoidal con exéresis de adenoma hipofisario productor de hormona GH.

ABSTRACT

A case seen in the Family Doctor's office #7 of Ciego de Ávila North Area Polyclinic is presented, being of frequent occurrence. A female patient, 50 years old, who went to consultation suffering from cephalea, muscle weakness, osteoarticular pains, and excessive growth of the acral portions of the body were observed in the physical test. Appropriate studies were carried out and it was arrived to Acromegalia diagnosis. A transeptoesphenoidal surgery with exeresis of Growth hormone-secreting pituitary adenoma was done.
