RESUMO

Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar e comparar as grandezas anatômicas angulares vestibulares dos primeiros e segundos molares superiores utilizando os princípios da engenharia reversa. A amostra constituiu-se de 32 modelos em gesso de pacientes portadores de oclusão normal que foram escaneados e transformados em modelos ortodônticos virtuais tridimensionais para avaliação das grandezas. Os resultados demostraram diferenças estatisticamente significativas em todas as medidas quando comparados os primeiros com os segundos molares superiores.

ABSTRACT

The aims of this study were evaluate and compare the anatomic angular values of the buccal surface of first and second upper molars using reverse engineering principles. The sample was constituted of 32 plaster models of patient with normal occlusion that were scanned and transformed in orthodontics three-dimensional virtual models. Next, the models were analyzed in the Rapidform 2006 software. The results demostrated statiscally significant differences in al the evaluated measurements.
