Piperacilina/tazobactam en el sistema VITEK ®2 / Piperacillin / Tazobactam in the VITEk ®2 System

RESUMEN

Como parte del compromiso continuo con los laboratorios clínicos y farmacéuticos, bioMérieux ha trabajado con la Food and Drug Administration (FDA) y en abril del presente año notificó la corrección de producto relacionada con el desempeño de la identificación y el antibiograma para piperacilina/tazobactam en el sistema automatizado VITEK® 2. En este comunicado, se indicó a los usuarios del sistema VITEK® 2, las acciones específicas que debían realizar previas al reporte del laboratorio, para la prueba de susceptibilidad de los bacilos Gram negativos a piperacilina/ tazobactam.

ABSTRACT

As part of its ongoing commitment to clinical and pharmaceutical laboratories, bioMérieux has been working with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and in April this year notified the FDA of a product correction related to the performance of the identification and antibiogram for piperacillin/tazobactam in the automated VITEK® 2 system. In this communication, users of the VITEK® 2 system were instructed on the specific actions to be taken prior to laboratory reporting for susceptibility testing of Gram-negative bacilli to piperacillin/tazobactam.
