ABSTRACT
The literature shows that subjects with epilepsy have difficulties performingactivities in all or nearly all aspects of life. Searching for a better understanding of the problems of occupational performance in subjects with epilepsy, this research sought to evaluate and classify these problems according to the ICF experienced by subjects with Epilepsy and to discuss the data gleaned from the literature. Thirty-four individuals were interviewed, where the main performance problems reported were maintaining a job (d8451) with 18 complaints, vocational training (d825) with 15 complaints, and moving around in different locations (d460), also with 15 complaints. It was observed that thedetermining factors for these performance problems were easily classified according to the ICF, and their limitations to activities and restrictionsto participation were in accord with the biopsychosocial model of health given by the classification where, apart from deficiencies related to the body functions, the environmental and personal factors also interfere with the lives of these individuals.
