ABSTRACT
This is an integrative review on nursing interventions for pain relief in the immediate postoperative in pediatrics. We used the databases LILACS, MEDLINE and SciELO with the descriptors pain; child; nursing; pain, postoperative; postoperative care;postoperative period; postoperative complications; care, postoperative; pediatric nursing, for published works between January 2007 and December 2011. We found 43 articles. After the selection criteria, we included five articles. Among the interventions, the pharmacological ones were found more often as a resource for pain relief. However, studies have recommended the complementation by non-pharmacological actions, seeking appropriate pain control in children in the immediate postoperative period.
