ABSTRACT
Bifidohacterium is an inherent intestinal microflora. It is anaerobic, nonpathogenic and bad-less. Researches have demonstrated that bifidohacterium can inhibit tumor cells growth, induce tumor cells apop-tosis and stimulate the immunocytes secreting cytokines. Because it can selectively localizes and proliferates in solid tumors,it can be used as a delivery system for tumor-targeting enzyme-prodrug in geoe therapy. In vivo studies show that bifidobacterium is an ideal biologic agent which can be used to treat tumor without toxicity.
