P + E and S + E groups were given estrogen intramascularly. All rats were maintained on their indiuidual treatment for 14 days. One hour before the sacrifice rats were orally lavaged with 2 ml 99% ethanol. Gastric mucosal blood flow, degree of gastric mucosal injury and mucosal NO production were determined.
