Erteng Tongbi Mixture for the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis: An Clinical Observation of 162 Cases / 中药新药与临床药理

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Erteng Tongbi Mixture(ETM) on rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Methods 102 cases of RA were treated with ETM for 3 months. Time of morning stiffness, rest pain, 20m- walking time, hand grip, the number of joint with swelling and tenderness, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), rheumatoid factor (RF), C- reactive protein (CRP) were compared before and after the treatment. Results The total effective rate of ETM was 91.4 % and the ineffective rate 8.6 % . The morning stiffness, rest pain, hand grip and joint tenderness were obviously relieved, while 20m- walking time and the number of joint with swelling remained unchanged.
