ABSTRACT
Microbes are widespread in human body.Although the respiratory tract interfaces with the environment, the lung is thought to be a sterile environment in the traditional sense.High throughput sequencing technology has been developed in more fields which provides a new way to reveal the relationship between the microbiota in respiratory tract and the health and disease of human body.Further, there appears to be a complex interaction between the development of the gastrointestinal and respiratory microbiota in the regulation of immune function. The contribution of the dynamic change of microbiota in respiratory disease of the newborn is unknown. This article summarizes the microbial influence on the development of respiratory disease and the function of the respiratory microbiome.
