ABSTRACT
A recent systematic evaluation analysis identified probiotic strains with efficacy on clinical outcomes related to premature infants, and found only a small number of single or hybrid strains of probiotics could reduce the mortality and complication rates. In this paper, the objective is to provide recommendations for a systematic evaluation of the literature on which strains can be used and which strains should not be used, and provide the status of corresponding preparations and applications in China. If the quality and safety of all product preparations can be satisfied and monitored, in order to reduce the incidence of such complications as infection in premature infants, the single strain of Lactobacillus rhamnosus or hybrid strains of Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium lactis and Streptococcus thermophilus could be recommended.
