RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the impact of comprehensive health education on insulin therapy outcomes in diabetic patients. Methods: A total of 130 diabetes mellitus patients admitted to our hospital between January 2020 and January 2023 were enrolled. We used a randomization method to divide participants into two groups, one of which received the "admission-discharge-home follow-up" comprehensive health education program and the other which did not. They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group (65 patients in each). The control group received conventional education, while the observation group received additional one-stop health education involving "admission-discharge-family follow-up." Various parameters, including 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (2hPG), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), insulin injection compliance, insulin standard injection mastery, and quality of life (assessed using the Insulin Therapy Related Quality of Life Questionnaire, ITR-QOL-CV), were compared between the two groups. Results: The study's key findings highlight the significant effects of a comprehensive health education program on key outcomes such as improving insulin injection compliance, improving glycemic control, and improving quality of life in patients with diabetes. Before the intervention, 2hPG, FPG, and HbA1c levels were similar in both groups (P > .05). Following the intervention, these indicators decreased in both groups, with significantly lower levels observed in the observation group (P < .05). Insulin injection compliance was comparable between the groups before the intervention (P > .05), but it increased in both groups post-intervention, with higher compliance observed in the observation group (P < .05). Similarly, scores from the insulin standard injection mastery questionnaire and ITR-QOL-CV were enhanced in both groups after the intervention, with higher scores in the observation group compared to the control group (P < .05). Conclusion: The implementation of one-stop health education involving "admission-discharge-family follow-up" led to improved insulin injection effectiveness, blood glucose control, compliance, insulin standard injection mastery, and overall quality of life in diabetic patients. These significant improvements have important clinical implications for patients with diabetes, as more efficient and consistent use of insulin injections will help to better control blood sugar levels, reducing patients' symptoms and risk of complications. For health care providers, these findings underscore the importance of providing comprehensive health education programs to improve outcomes and overall care for patients with diabetes.

RESUMO

This study aimed to reveal the effects and regulatory mechanism of dietary NDF on the performance of pigs by multi-omics analysis. Results showed that 16 % dietary NDF significantly improved meat quality, increased flavor amino acid content, and reduced backfat thickness and the feed-to-gain ratio. 16S rDNA sequencing showed that 16 % NDF significantly increased the abundance of Akkermansia, Lachnoclostridium, and Ruminococcus. Transcript analysis showed that genes related to muscle development and lipid metabolism were significantly modified. Metabonomic analysis showed that 16 % NDF significantly increased amino and fatty acid related metabolites. Correlation analysis suggested that 16 % NDF treatment may alter the gut microbiota and metabolites, regulate the expression of genes related to lipid and amino metabolism, and ultimately affect the flavor and performance of pigs. This study provides a novel understanding about the effect and regulatory mechanism of NDF supplements on the finishing pigs and a relevant reference for the improvement of diet formulation.

RESUMO

Novel NIR-II Ru(II) polypyridyl fluorophore Ru-1 dots for synergistic chemo-photothermal therapy against 4T1 tumors were designed and synthesized. Guided by in vivo NIR-II fluorescence imaging, the synergistic therapeutic efficacy, intracellular delivery, and biodistribution of the Ru-1 dots were precisely tracked in real-time.

RESUMO

In this study, the exercise prescription intervention rehabilitation suggestions for fatty liver patients were summarized as follows: first, basic exercises (brisk walking and jogging.), sports (swimming, badminton, and cycling), traditional Chinese medicine exercises (Taichi boxing and eight-section brocade), the aim of which is to improve overall physical strength and endurance of the body; second, exercise intensity, duration, and frequency; third, exercise precautions; and fourth, exercise prescription selection and suggestion.

RESUMO

Based on the authors' clinical experience, the acupuncture treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease mainly includes the following three aspects. (1) The etiology and pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are based on "deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality." The deficiency in origin means deficiency of the spleen and stomach, and the excess in superficiality is caused by hepatobiliary disorders. (2) The application of the theory of strengthening the spleen and mobilizing transportation should be considered for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by acupuncture and moxibustion. Therefore, the use of "treatment from the spleen" often has miraculous effects. (3) Skillful use of acupuncture, shallow acupuncture, acupoint thread embedding, and other traditional Chinese medicine therapies are used to regulate the liver and spleen. In addition, warm acupuncture is reused to warm the Yang and strengthen the body.

RESUMO

Drugs are frequently used for only chemotherapy that ignores their photophysical properties that potentially endow them with other therapeutic potency. Additionally, current photothermal-chemotherapy replies on the codelivery of drugs and photothermal agents, but their spatiotemporal delivery and precise release is unsatisfactory. Herein, label-free doxorubicin (DOX) polyprodrug nanoparticles (DPNs) are formulated from disulfide bonds-tethered DOX polyprodrug amphiphiles (PDMA-b-PDOXM). Benefiting from boosted nonradiative decay of high-density DOX, significant fluorescence quenching and photothermal effects are observed for DPNs without common photothermal agents. Upon cellular uptake and laser irradiation, the heat can promote lysosomal escape of DPNs into reductive cytosol, whereupon free DOX is released to activate chemotherapy and fluorescence, achieving rational cascade photothermal-chemotherapy. The current label-free polyprodrug strategy can make full use of drugs; it provides an alternative insight to extend the therapeutic domain of drugs.

RESUMO

In spite of the rapid emergence of numerous nanoparticles (NPs) for biomedical applications, it is often challenging to precisely control, or effectively tame, the bioactivity/toxicity of NPs, thereby exhibiting limited applications in biomedical areas. Herein, we report the construction of hyaluronic acid (HA)-laminated, otherwise toxic methylviologen (MV), NPs via ternary host-guest complexation among cucurbit[8]uril, trans-azobenzene-conjugated HA, and MV-functionalized polylactic acid NPs (MV-NPs). The high, nonspecific toxicity of MV-NPs was effectively shielded (turned off) by HA lamination, as demonstrated in cells, zebrafish, and mouse models. The supramolecular host-guest interaction-mediated HA coating offered several HA-MV-NP modalities, including hyaluronidase locally and photoirradiation remotely, to precisely remove HA lamination on demand, thereby endowing materials with the capability of selective decoating-induced activation (DIA) for applications as a user-friendly herbicide, a selective antibacterial agent, or an anticancer nanomedicine. This work offers facile supramolecular coating and DIA strategies to effectively tame and precisely control the bioactivity and toxicity of functional nanomaterials for diverse applications.

RESUMO

There is no criteria of placebo acupuncture method and no suitable method for all kinds of acupuncture research currently. In this paper, the methods and theories of placebo acupuncture were collected in recent 10 years at home and abroad. The analysis was conducted in the aspects of the premise of placebo acupuncture design, the common methods and their advantages and disadvantages, the application of various placebo acupuncture methods and the controversy on placebo acupuncture. It is required to further improve the design of placebo acupuncture control, explore the key questions of it and specify the criteria of its method so as to lay the foundation for the establishment of scientific and rational placebo acupuncture control in acupuncture research.
