RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: A meta-analysis was performed to assess the epidemiological correlation between dietary intake of various types of vitamin intake and the risk of periodontal disease. METHODS: A comprehensive computerized search was conducted in eight databases, namely PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, China Biology Medicine Disc, CNKI, VIP, and WanFang Database, and a random effect model was applied to combine pooled odds ratio (ORs) with corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of the included studies, and the sensitivity analysis was performed to explore the impact of a single study on the comprehensive results. RESULTS: We finally included 45 effect groups from 23 observational studies, with a total number of study participants of 74,488. The results showed that higher levels of vitamin A (OR: 0.788, 95% CI: 0.640-0.971), vitamin B complex (OR: 0.884, 95% CI: 0.824-0.948), vitamin C (OR: 0.875, 95% CI: 0.775-0.988), vitamin D (OR: 0.964, 95% CI: 0.948-0.981), and vitamin E (OR: 0.868, 95% CI: 0.776-0.971) intake all were negatively correlated with periodontal disease. After removing each study, leave-one-out sensitivity analysis indicated no significant change in the overall results of any of the five meta-analyses. CONCLUSIONS: The results from this meta-analysis demonstrated a negative association between high-dose vitamin A, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, vitamin D, and vitamin E consumption and the likelihood of developing periodontal disease, revealing the significant role of vitamins in preventing periodontal disease.

RESUMO

This research established a high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method for simultaneous determination of isoorientin, orientin, vitexin, and isovitexin in Commelina communis to conduct content difference analysis and quality evaluation of 62 batches of C. communis from different origins. The HPLC content determination was performed on a Dikma Platisil ODS chromatographic column(4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm), with acetonitrile-0.1% formic acid(14∶86) as the mobile phase. The detection wavelength was set at 348 nm, the flow rate was 1.0 mL·min~(-1), and the column temperature was 35 ℃. The differences in origins and quality of 62 batches of C. communis were studied by chemometrics. The results showed that the determination of four components mani-fested a good linear relationship in the range of mass concentration(r>0.999 9), and the average recovery rate was 96.17%-103.0%. The relative standard deviations(RSDs) of precision, stability, and repeatability were all less than 2.0%. The content of four components from high to low was isoorientin>isovitexin>orientin>vitexin. Forty-seven batches of C. communis with clear origins were classified into six categories by chemometrics. C. communis from different origins had different qualities. Generally, C. communis from Western China, Central China, and South of China had superior qualities. The HPLC method established in this study is specific, simple, and efficient, which provides references for the comprehensive evaluation of the quality of C. communis. The chemometrics shows that the qualities of C. communis from different origins are largely different. Isoorientin can be used as an index to determine the content of C. communis, and its content limit should be set no less than 0.023%.

RESUMO

Bronchial asthma is a heterogeneous disease characterized by chronic airway inflammation and airway hyperresponsiveness. With the development of the whole-life-cycle health concept, the focus of treatment for bronchial asthma in children has gradually shifted from initial pharmacological control to an integrated management model of functional rehabilitation and pharmacological assistance. As a non-pharmacological integrated approach, pulmonary rehabilitation plays an equally important role in the management of childhood asthma as pharmacological treatment. Studies have shown that breathing techniques such as Buteyko breathing, pursed lip breathing, diaphragmatic breathing training, threshold-pressure inspiratory muscle training and yoga breathing can improve lung function indicators such as FEV1, FVC, PEF and MVV in children. The comprehensive pre-exercise assessment, the development of exercise prescriptions, and the implementation and evaluation of exercise effects can improve the physical fitness, neuromuscular coordination and self-confidence of children with asthma. The comprehensive interventions of health education, psychological support and nutritional intervention can improve the compliance and effectiveness of rehabilitation training. This article reviews the research progress on respiratory training, physical exercise and comprehensive interventions in the pulmonary rehabilitation of asthmatic children, to provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for the scientific and rational management of pulmonary rehabilitation of asthmatic children in clinical settings.

RESUMO

Water degumming, mainly removes hydrated phospholipids, is the most common method applying in traditional edible oil production. Silicon dioxide (SiO2) adsorption has been proved as a green and efficient method for removing phospholipids from rapeseed oil. But both methods exhibited poor effect on okra seed oil. Based on a hypothesis that SiO2 can adsorb non-hydrated phospholipids, removal effect of non-hydrated phospholipids in okra seed oil was studied. Single factor test and response surface design were used to optimize the SiO2 adsorbing process in water-degummed oil. Meanwhile, the qualities and flavor changes of okra seed oil before and after degumming were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the optimized degumming procedure was: 1.43% (w/w) of SiO2 added into the water-degummed oil, and the mixture was stirred at 33.52℃ for 30.47 min. The maximum non-hydrated phospholipids removal rate reached 43.3%. Comparing with crude okra seed oil, the optimal degumming method resulted in the increase of peroxide value and the decrease of induction period (IP) of the oil. However, it had the same safety as the water and the SiO2 degumming methods. It could retain 62% of total phenols, which was less than the water and the SiO2 degumming methods (both about 79%). The differences of E-nose sensors among oils were most likely caused by the pyrazines. It is necessary to study the composition and properties of phospholipids and develop new methods to further improve the phospholipids removal rate of okra seed oil.

RESUMO

ObjectiveBased on the medical cases of Qi and blood co-treatment of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) masters, to discover the syndrome and treatment rules and medication experience of Qi and blood co-treatment through data mining. MethodFrom December 1999 to November 2020, the Qi and blood treatment cases of TCM masters were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). Frequency statistics, association rules, cluster analysis and other methods were used for data mining. ResultThe analysis of 591 medical cases of 57 national medical master found that blood stasis, Qi deficiency, Qi stagnation, blood deficiency and phlegm were the most common syndromes. The tongue was reddish, pale or dark, the moss was white or thin, and the pulse was thin, stringy, heavy and slippery. In the treatment of Qi and blood, the disease in the early stage is mostly in Qi and blood itself. At this time, the emphasis should be on regulating Qi and blood, or tonic or attack or both. At the same time, attention should be paid to invigorating the spleen, soothing the liver and tonifying the kidney. Core drugs include Danggui Buxuetang, Buyang Huanwutang, Huangqi Guizhi Wuwutang, Taohong Siwutang, Si Junzitang, Linggui Zhugantang, Xiaoyaosan, Danggui Shaoyaosan and other chemical cut. ConclusionWhen treating Qi and blood together, Chinese medical masters attach great importance to the relationship between Qi and blood and the development stage of diseases, and emphasize the precision and dynamic differentiation of treatment. Their theories and experience of diagnosis and treatment are worthy of clinical application and promotion.

RESUMO

Acupoint autohemotherapy at bilateral Zusanli (ST36) and Xuehai (SP10) was used to treat a 26-year-old female patient who had suffered from recalcitrant atopic eczema (AE) for five years. The treatment was applied at a frequency of once per week for the first month, followed by a three-month period of once every other week. At the end of treatment, the patient's AE symptoms were entirely resolved, and by the end of a six-month follow-up her immunoglobulin E level had returned to the normal range. Further, there was no relapse of AE symptoms during the six-month follow-up. Therefore, we hypothesized that after the repeated treatments the local inflammatory reaction induced by autologous blood injection triggered a local immune response, followed by a systemic immune response after the repeated treatment, finally leading to the anti-inflammation and immunomodulation effects. This case suggests that acupoint autohemotherapy could be used as an effective complementary treatment for recalcitrant AE, especially in cases where other treatments have failed. Further comparative studies are needed to corroborate the value and mechanisms of this therapy.

RESUMO

The pathogenesis of gouty arthritis contains internal cause and external cause. The deficiency of Zang Fu organs is the internal cause and the invasion of external pathogens is the external cause, which is related to the liver, spleen and kidney. In clinical treatment, we should grasp the pathological factors such as dampness, heat and blood stasis, and treat this diseaseaccording to different stages and types, anddeal with both symptoms and the root cause. Clinically, orally taken Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture, collateral pricking and bleeding, and external application of TCM are the common methods to treat this disease and combining various methods together has better curative effect, which could significantly relieve the pain and alleviate inflammation with safetiness. However, the operation methods and standards of the existing studies are not unified, which needs long-term follow-up, large samples and high-quality studies.

RESUMO

Intrauterine adhesion (IUA) is characterized by endometrial stromal replaced with fibrous tissue during the trauma or operation induced injury. Current clinic IUA management mainly involves surgical removal of the connective tissues and physical separation and often results in reoccurrence. It is of clinic interest to directly address the issue via facilitating the endometrial repair and thereby inhibiting the formation of re-adhesion. To this end, we designed a nanocomposite aloe/poloxamer hydrogel for ß-estradiol (E2) intrauterine delivery to exert multi-therapeutic effects and promote endometrial regeneration for IUA treatment. Nanoparticulate decellularized uterus (uECMNPs) was prepared to encapsulate E2 (E2@uECMNPs), which improved the solubility and prolonged cargo release. Then, E2@uECMNPs were further embedded into the thermosensitive aloe-poloxamer hydrogel (E2@uECMNPs/AP). Multiple components from E2@uECMNPs/AP system could collectively promote proliferation and inhibit apoptosis of endometrial stromal cells. E2@uECMNPs/AP significantly increased morphological recovery and decreased uterine fibrosis rate compared with IUA rats in other groups in vivo. Additionally, the levels of Ki67, cytokeratin, and estrogen receptor ß were all up-regulated, along with the decreased expression of TGF-ß1 and TNF-α in the uterus from rats receiving E2@uECMNPs/AP therapy. Taken together, in situ administration of E2@uECMNPs/AP hydrogel could effectively promote endometrial regeneration and prevent the re-adhesion.

RESUMO

Trace metals deficiency or excess are associated with the etiology and pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Aconiti Radix Cocta(A) and Paeoniae Radix Alba(B) are commonly used together for the treatment of RA. In this study, we aim to determine anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability in the compatibility of herb A and B for avoiding metal deficiency or excess, and optimize the combination ratio of herb A and B, accordingly. Anti-arthritic-related metal bioaccessibility were evaluated by in vitro simulator of all gastrointestinal tract(including mouth, stomach, small and large intestines), and the roles of gastrointestinal digestive enzymes and intestinal microflora were investigated. Anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability was assessed by the affinity adsorption with liposomes. The results indicated that compatibility proportion of corresponding herbal plants, gastrointestinal digestion and microbial metabolic, which could affect metal digestion and absorption. The optimal compatibility proportion of 1 A∶1 B is recommended, according to the dose of anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability, which is often chosen for clinical practice of RA therapy. Thus, anti-arthritic-related metal bioavailability might be the key active substances for RA treatment.

RESUMO

Instability of silk fibroin nanoparticles (SFNPs) in physiologic condition hinders its application as drug delivery vehicle. Herein, indocyanine green (ICG) loaded silk fibroin nanoparticles (ICG-SFNPs) was firstly prepared and then crosslinked by proanthocyanidins to obtain the stable ICG-CSFNPs for killing the residual tumour niche under near infra-red irradiation (NIR) after surgery. The particle size and zeta potentials of ICG-CSFNPs was 120.1 nm and -40.4 mV, respectively. Moreover, ICG-CSFNPs exhibited good stability of particle size in the physiological medium. Meanwhile, the stable photothermal properties of ICG-CSFNPs were not compromised even after several cycles of NIR. Few of the ICG-CSFNPs were phagocytized by RAW264.7 macrophage in vitro, while they were easily internalized by C6 glioma cells, resulting in their significant toxicity on tumour cells after NIR. The pharmacokinetic study showed that ICG-CSFNPs had a longer blood circulation time than ICG-SFNPs, making them more distribution in glioma after intravenous administration in vivo. Meanwhile, the pharmacological study showed the more effective inhibition of tumour growth was exhibited by ICG-CSFNPs in C6 glioma-bearing mice after NIR. Overall, the cross-linked nanoparticles of silk fibroin may be a promising vehicle of ICG for photothermal therapy of glioma after surgical resection.

RESUMO

Commercial fragrant rapeseed oil (CFRO), from roasted and hot-pressed seeds, is enjoyed in China for its unique aroma. However, the characteristic of aroma-active compounds in CFRO is still unclear. In this study, a new odor monolithic material sorptive extraction method was established to trap volatiles from rapeseed oil. Thirty CFROs were investigated using this method coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. A total of 29 volatile compounds were identified by gas chromatography-olfactometry including pyrazines, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, and sulfur compounds. Further, 2,5-dimethylpyrazine (peanut-like), 3-ethyl-2,5-dimethylpyrazine (roasted nut-like), dimethyl trisulfide (cabbage-like), 4-isothiocyanato-1-butene (pungent and pickle-like), butyrolactone (caramel-like), and benzyl nitrile (pungent and sulfur-like) are affirmed as the key odorants for the overall aroma of CFRO, owing to their odor activity values ≥1. This work provides a new insight on acquiring aroma-active compounds from rapeseed oil in a more time-effective process compared to conventional methods. Futhermore, this novel approach is applicable in the field of food flavor.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of integrated Chinese and Western medicine for the treatment of occupational noise-induced deafness( ONID). METHODS: A total of 80 ONID patients were selected and randomly divided into control group and treatment group by judgment sampling method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine western medicine treatment using mecobalamin tablets, vitamin B complex, nerve growth factor and hyperbaric oxygen. The treatment group received routine western medicine as the control group, plus acupuncture, moxibustion and auricular point pressing. The patients in both groups were treated continuously for 30 days. The questionnaire of conscious, the selfconscious symptoms such as tinnitus, headache, dizziness and insomnia were recorded in these two groups before and after treatment. Pure tone audiometry was performed on the patients at the same time. RESULTS: After treatment, the binaural high frequency threshold average( BHFTA) and threshold of weighted value of the left and right ears in the treatment group were better than that in the same group before treatment( P < 0. 05). The difference of the BHFTA and threshold of weighted value of the right ear in the treatment group before and after treatment was higher than that in the control group( P < 0. 05). After treatment, the symptoms of tinnitus, headache, dizziness and insomnia in the two groups were better than those in the same group before treatment. The total improvement rate of tinnitus and dizziness symptoms in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group( P < 0. 05). CONCLUSION: The treatment with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for ONID can improve the hearing level of patients, effectively alleviate the accompanying self-conscious symptoms, and is suitable for promotion in clinical use.

RESUMO

Didymin (isosakuranetin 7-O-rutinoside) is an orally bioactive dietary flavonoid glycoside first found in citrus fruits. Traditionally, this flavonoid has long been used in Asian countries as a dietary antioxidant. Recent studies have provided newer insights into this pleiotropic compound, which could regulate multiple biological activities of many important signaling molecules in health and disease. Emerging data also presented the potential therapeutic application of dietary flavonoid glycoside didymin against cancer, neurological diseases, liver diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and other diseases. In this review, we briefly introduce the source and extraction methods of didymin, and summarize its potential therapeutic application in the treatment of various diseases, with an emphasis on molecular targets and mechanism that contributes to the observed therapeutic effects. The dietary flavonoid didymin can be used to affect health and disease with multiple therapeutic targets, and it is anticipated that this review will stimulate the future development of this potential dietary medicine.

RESUMO

Currently, phototherapy initiated by local irradiation with a near-infrared (NIR) laser has emerged as a promising strategy for cancer treatment owing to its low toxicity. However, a key problem for effective phototherapy is how to specifically deliver a sufficient dose of photosensitizers to a tumor focus. Herein, indocyanine green (ICG), a United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)-approved photosensitizer, was first encapsulated in an inner aqueous compartment of liposome (ICG-LIP) to improve its stability. Thereafter, tumor cell membranes were isolated from native glioma cells and subsequently inlaid in the bilayer lipid membrane of ICG-LIP to construct cell-like liposomes (ICG-MCLs). ICG was easily encapsulated into the ICG-MCLs with a very high encapsulation efficiency, reaching 78.01 ± 0.72% and its concentration in the final formulation reached 200 µg mL-1. The ICG-MCLs displayed a spherical morphology with a hydrodynamic diameter (Dh) of 115.0 ± 0.5 nm, a PDI of 0.14, and a zeta potential of -11.2 ± 0.9 mV. Moreover, ICG-MCLs exhibited a good stability in terms of particle size and significantly improved the chemical stability of ICG in pH 7.4 PBS at 37 °C. In addition, the temperature of the ICG-MCLs rapidly increased to 63 °C after 10 min irradiation and this was maintained for a longer time. Owing to the cancer cell membrane associated protein, the ICG-MCLs were specifically internalized by homogenous glioma C6 cells in vitro, which resulted in the strong red fluorescence of ICG in cytoplasm. Moreover, in vivo imaging showed that the ICG-MCLs were effectively homed to the tumor site of C6 glioma-bearing Xenograft nude mice through vein injection, which resulted in the temperature of the tumor site rapidly rising, allowing the killing of tumor cells after local NIR irradiation. After treatment with the ICG-MCLs, the primary tumor focus was completely eradicated and lung metastases were effectively inhibited. In conclusion, liposomes inlaid with tumor cellular membranes may serve as an excellent nanoplatform for homologous-targeting phototherapy using ICG.

RESUMO

Currently, combination drug therapy is one of the most effective approaches to glioma treatment. However, due to the inherent dissimilar pharmacokinetics of individual drugs and blood brain barriers, it was difficult for the concomitant drugs to simultaneously be delivered to glioma in an optimal dose ratio manner. Herein, a cationic micellar core (Cur-M) was first prepared from d-α-tocopherol-grafted-ε-polylysine polymer to encapsulate the hydrophobic curcumin, followed by dopamine-modified-poly-γ-glutamic acid polymer further deposited on its surface as a anion shell through pH-sensitive linkage to encapsulate the hydrophilic doxorubicin (DOX) hydrochloride. By controlling the combinational Cur/DOX molar ratio at 3:1, a pH-sensitive core-shell nanoparticle (PDCP-NP) was constructed to simultaneously target the cancer stem cells (CSCs) and the differentiated tumor cells. PDCP-NP exhibited a dynamic diameter of 160.8 nm and a zeta-potential of -30.5 mV, while its core-shell structure was further confirmed by XPS and TEM. The ratiometric delivery capability of PDCP-NP was confirmed by in vitro and in vivo studies, in comparison with the cocktail Cur/DOX solution. Meanwhile, the percentage of CSCs in tumors was significantly decreased from 4.16% to 0.95% after treatment with PDCP-NP. Overall, PDCP-NP may be a promising carrier for the combination therapy with drug candidates having dissimilar physicochemical properties.

RESUMO

Silk was easily dyed in traditional textile industry because of its strong affinity to many colorants. Herein, the biocompatible silk fibroin was firstly extracted from Bombyx mori silkworm cocoons. And SF nanoparticles (SFNPs) were prepared for dyeing indocyanine green (ICG) and construct a therapeutic nano-platform (ICG-SFNPs) for photo-thermal therapy of glioblastoma. ICG was easily encapsulated into SFNPs with a very high encapsulation efficiency reaching to 97.7 ± 1.1%. ICG-SFNPs exhibited a spherical morphology with a mean particle size of 209.4 ± 1.4 nm and a negative zeta potential of -31.9 mV, exhibiting a good stability in physiological medium. Moreover, ICG-SFNPs showed a slow release profile of ICG in vitro, and only 24.51 ± 2.27% of the encapsulated ICG was released even at 72 h. Meanwhile, ICG-SFNPs exhibited a more stable photo-thermal effect than free ICG after exposure to near-infrared irradiation. The temperature of ICG-SFNPs rapidly increased by 33.9 °C within 10 min and maintained for a longer time. ICG-SFNPs were also easily internalized with C6 tumor cells in vitro, and a strong red fluorescence of ICG was observed in cytoplasm for cellular imaging. In vivo imaging showed that ICG-SFNPs were effectively accumulated inside tumor site of C6 glioma-bearing Xenograft nude mice through vein injection. Moreover, the temperature of tumor site was rapidly rising up to kill tumor cells after local NIR irradiation. After treatment, its growth was completely suppressed with the relative tumor volume of 0.55 ± 033 while free ICG of 33.72 ± 1.90. Overall, ICG-SFNPs may be an effective therapeutic means for intraoperative phototherapy and imaging.

RESUMO

Objective:The aim of this study is to establish an evaluation framework for an integrated health care service system, which provides evidence for the further construction of the evaluation index system. Methods:A sys-tematic review, thematic system and expert consultation were synthetically used to screen, construct and improve the evaluation framework of the integrated health care service system. Results:The results of this study show that the fi-nalized evaluation framework of the integrated health care system contains 4 first-level indexes which include system integration, organizational integration, professional integration and service integration; and 25 corresponding second level indictors. Conclusions:The evaluation framework of the integrated health care service system constructed in this study has a strong effectiveness and suitability, which lays a good foundation for further development of the corre-sponding evaluation index system.

RESUMO

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of scalp acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture in the treatment of aphasia after ischemic stroke. Methods Totally 90 patients with aphasia after ischemic stroke were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group, with 45 cases in each group. The control group received Schuell language training, 30 min each time, while the treatment group received scalp acupuncture plus electroacupuncture (Yifeng, Baihui, Houxi and Tongli), 20 min each time. The treatment for both group was 5 times a week and lasted for 16 weeks. The clinical efficacy was evaluated by aphasia degree, Chinese functional communication profile (CFCP) score and Western aphasia battery (WAB). Results There was statistical significance between the treatment group and the control group in the level of aphasia degree (P<0.05). Compared with before treatment, the total scores of CFCP and WAB in both groups increased, with statistical significance (P<0.05). The total scores of CFCP and WAB in treatment group were higher than control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the therapeutic effect was 91.11% (41/45) in the treatment group and 75.56% (34/45) in the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion Scalp acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture can obviously improve the language understanding and expression ability and language communication ability of aphasic patients after ischemic stroke.

RESUMO

Gastric cancer is a leading cause of cancerassociated mortality worldwide. In studies on the mechanisms of antigastric cancer drugs, autophagy and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress have been demonstrated to serve an active role in gastric cancer. The organic extract of Periplaneta americana (also termed American Cockroach), which is named Kangfuxin (KFX) in China, has been used clinically as a traditional Chinese medicine against disorders, including stomach bleeding, gastric ulcers, tuberculosis, burns and trauma. However, the role of KFX and its mechanism in gastric cancer remains to be elucidated. The present study aimed to determine the effects of KFX in vitro against cultured the human carcinoma SGC7901 cell line, and to explore the potential mechanism of the anticancer effects of KFX in gastric cancer. SGC7901 cells were treated with different concentrations of KFX for varying amounts of time. As a result, KFX treatment decreased the ratio of apoptosis regulators Bcl2/Bax, activated ER stress and induced significant apoptosis in SGC7901 cells. Furthermore, KFX was able to restore the ER stress activation blocked by 4phenylbutyrate. In addition, KFX activated autophagy in SGC7901 cells. These results demonstrated that ER stress, autophagy and the apoptosisinducing effects of KFX in SGC7901 cells may achieve promising anticancer effects in numerous other types of cancer. In particular, ER stress may serve an essential role in KFXinduced anticancer effects on gastric carcinoma and a secondary role in autophagy.
