RESUMEN

The purpose of the study was to analyze the influence of left-handed athletes on the opponent (right-handed players) of elite badminton women's singles. The study selected a total of 40 women's singles matches played by elite female players: twenty matches (42 games, n = 42) were played between left-handed and right-handed players and twenty matches (44 games, n = 44) were played between two right-handed players. There were significant (p < 0.05) differences in hitting positions, techniques, routes and landing points. No significant (p > 0.05) differences were found in scores per game and frequency distribution of rally outcomes. In conclusion, the details of technical and tactical application were different in two game forms, the main impact of the left-handed player on the opponent's (right-handed player) game was a decrease in the opponent's stroke in the overhead, an increase in the number of drives, predominance of small slashes and a decrease in big slashes.

Selectively producing a variety of valuable compounds using controlled chemical reactions starting from a common material is an appealing yet complex concept. Herein, a photocatalytic approach for the selective synthesis of (E)-ß-aminovinyl sulfones and (E)-ß-amidovinyl sulfones from allenamides and sodium sulfinates was established. This reaction exhibits the traits of an eco-friendly solvent and adjustable amide cleavage, and can accommodate a diverse range of substrates with exceptional functional group tolerance. Based on control experiments and deuterium labeling experiments, a plausible radical reaction pathway is proposed.

This study presents a convenient approach to the synthesis of indole- and benzofuran-based benzylic sulfones using unactivated alkynes containing aryl iodides and sodium sulfinates under visible light irradiation. The procedure involves a sequential series of dehalogenation, carbo-cyclization, and radical sulfonylation. Plausible insights into the reaction mechanism are derived from control experiments, leading to the proposal of a radical cascade reaction pathway.

It is difficult for traditional therapies to further improve the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), and immunotherapy is considered to be a promising approach to overcome this dilemma. However, only a minority of patients benefit from immunotherapy, which greatly limits its application. Therefore, it is particularly urgent to elucidate the specific regulatory mechanism of tumor immunity so as to provide a new direction for immunotherapy. NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase 3 (NSUN3) is a protein with RNA binding and methyltransferase activity, which has been shown to be involved in the occurrence and development of a variety of tumors. At present, the relationship between NSUN3 and immune implication in LIHC has not been reported. In this study, we first revealed that NSUN3 expression is upregulated in LIHC and that patients with high NSUN3 expression have a poor prognosis through multiple databases. Pathway enrichment analysis demonstrated that NSUN3 may be participated in cell adhesion and cell matrix remodeling. Next, we obtained a set of genes coexpressed with NSUN3 (NCGs). Further LASSO regression was performed based on NCGs, and a risk score model was constructed, which proved to have good predictive power. In addition, Cox regression analysis revealed that the risk score of NCGs model was an independent risk factor for LIHC patients. Moreover, we established a nomogram based on the NCGs-related model, which was verified to have a good predictive ability for the prognosis of LIHC. Furthermore, we investigated the relationship between NCGs-related model and immune implication. The results implied that our model was closely related to immune score, immune cell infiltration, immunotherapy response, and multiple immune checkpoints. Finally, the pathway enrichment analysis of NCGs-related model showed that the model may be involved in the regulation of various immune pathways. In conclusion, our study revealed a novel role of NSUN3 in LIHC. The NSUN3-based prognostic model may be a promising biomarker for inspecting the prognosis and immunotherapy response of LIHC.

Hopf insulators are topological insulators whose topological behavior arises from the nontrivial mapping from a 3D sphere to a 2D sphere, known as the Hopf map. The Hopf map, typically encountered in the study of spinor and Skyrmion systems, is classified topologically by an integer invariant called the Hopf index. Here we show that, owing to the periodic circulation of light inside each microring, a 2D lattice of microring resonators can emulate an N-band photonic Hopf insulator with nontrivial Hopf index. In particular, we show by numerical computation and direct analytical proof that the N-band Hopf index of the microring lattice is identical to its winding number. The result shows that the Hopf index is an alternative topological invariant for classifying 2D microring photonic lattices and establishes a correspondence between the Hopf insulator phase and the anomalous Floquet insulator phase of the lattice. More generally, our work shows that 2D microring lattices can provide a versatile nanophotonic platform for studying non-Abelian topological photonic systems.

An atom-economic method of preparing allylic sulfones via hydrosulfonylation of allenes with sulfinic acids under Pd(0)-catalysis was reported. This process has a high degree of regio- and stereoselectivity, and provides the target product with a moderate to excellent yield. A wide range of nitrogen- or oxygen-containing linear E-allylic sulfones have been synthesized. With the support of experimental research, a possible mechanism was proposed.

RESUMEN

A new and expedient photocatalytic protocol for the construction of quinolin-2(1H)-ones via Markovnikov-type sulfonylation/6-endo-trig cyclization/selective C(O)-CF3 bond cleavage starting from N-alkyl-N-(2-ethynylphenyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamides and sulfinic acids has been developed. It is as an unprecedented protocol for the preparation of 4-sulfonylquinoline-2(1H)-ones with high efficiency, mild reaction conditions, acceptable yields and a wide range of substrates.

RESUMEN

Background: A pincer nail (PN) is a type of nail deformity. Although it is a minor ailment, it can cause intractable pain, affecting daily work and life. Currently, there is no standard invention for PN. The main purpose of treatment is to correct the curvature of the nail, so we apply double-layer artificial dermis (DLAD), a novel treatment, for PN according to this aim. Case presentation: A 40-year-old man suffering from PN was treated with DLAD. After 1 year of follow-up, the patient's great toenail plate of the right foot was completely grown out. His pain was relieved, and the curvature of the toenail was corrected. Conclusion: The innovative method of using DLAD to fill the ingrown nail bed not only solves the problem of recurrent pincer nail deformity but also restores the original appearance of the toenail. It suggested that this simple procedure can be widely applied in clinical practice.

This study explored and investigated how zearalenone (ZEA) affects the morphology of small intestine and the distribution and expression of ghrelin and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in the small intestine of weaned gilts. A total of 20 weaned gilts (42-day-old, D × L × Y, weighing 12.84 ± 0.26 kg) were divided into the control and ZEA groups (ZEA at 1.04 mg/kg in diet) in a 35-d study. Histological observations of the small intestines revealed that villus injuries of the duodenum, jejunum and ileum, such as atrophy, retardation and branching dysfunction, were observed in the ZEA treatment. The villi branch of the ileum in the ZEA group was obviously decreased compared to that of the ileum, jejunum and duodenum, and the number of lymphoid nodules of the ileum was increased. Additionally, the effect of ZEA (1.04 mg/kg) was decreased by the immunoreactivity and distribution of ghrelin and PCNA in the duodenal and jejunal mucosal epithelial cells. Interestingly, ZEA increased the immunoreactivity of ghrelin in the ileal mucosal epithelial cells and decreased the immunoreactivity expression of PCNA in the gland epithelium of the small intestine. In conclusion, ZEA (1.04 mg/kg) had adverse effects on the development and the absorptive capacity of the villi of the intestines; yet, the small intestine could resist or ameliorate the adverse effects of ZEA by changing the autocrine of ghrelin in intestinal epithelial cells.

This paper proposes an optimized trajectory planner and motion planner framework, which aim to deal with obstacle avoidance along a reference road for autonomous driving in unstructured environments. The trajectory planning problem is decomposed into lateral and longitudinal planning sub-tasks along the reference road. First, a vehicle kinematic model with road coordinates is established to describe the lateral movement of the vehicle. Then, nonlinear optimization based on a vehicle kinematic model in the space domain is employed to smooth the reference road. Second, a multilayered search algorithm is applied in the lateral-space domain to deal with obstacles and find a suitable path boundary. Then, the optimized path planner calculates the optimal path by considering the distance to the reference road and the curvature constraints. Furthermore, the optimized speed planner takes into account the speed boundary in the space domain and the constraints on vehicle acceleration. The optimal speed profile is obtained by using a numerical optimization method. Furthermore, a motion controller based on a kinematic error model is proposed to follow the desired trajectory. Finally, the experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed trajectory planner and motion controller framework in handling typical scenarios and avoiding obstacles safely and smoothly on the reference road and in unstructured environments.

The study aimed to investigate the effect of combined balance and plyometric training on the change of direction (COD) performance of badminton athletes. Sixteen elite male badminton players volunteered to participate and were randomly assigned to a balance-plyometric group (BP: n = 8) and plyometric group (PL: n = 8). The BP group performed balance combined with plyometric training three times a week over 6 weeks; while the PL group undertook only plyometric training three times a week during the same period. Meanwhile, both groups were given the same technical training. All participants were tested to assess the COD ability before and after the training period: Southeast Missouri (SEMO) test and 5-0-5 test, dynamic balance ability (Y-Balance test, YBT), and reactive strength index (RSI). Repeated-measure ANOVA revealed that after the intervention there was a significant time × group interaction for 5-0-5 COD test, YBT of both legs and RSI (p < 0.05, partial η2 = 0.26-0.58) due to the better performance observed at post-test compared with a pre-test for the BP group [effect size (ES) = 1.20-1.76], and the improvement was higher than that of the PL group. The change in SEMO test did not differ between BP and PL (p < 0.159, partial η2= 0.137), but the magnitude of the with-group improvement for BP (ES = 1.55) was higher than that of PL (ES = 0.81). These findings suggest that combined training could further improve the COD performance of badminton athletes than plyometric training alone and might provide fitness trainers a more efficient COD training alternative.

This study was aimed to: (1) investigate the effects of physiological functions of sprint interval training (SIT) on the aerobic capacity of elite badminton players; and (2) explore the potential mechanisms of oxygen uptake, transport and recovery within the process. Thirty-two elite badminton players volunteered to participate and were randomly divided into experimental (Male-SIT and Female-SIT group) and control groups (Male-CON and Female-CON) within each gender. During a total of eight weeks, SIT group performed three times of SIT training per week, including two power bike trainings and one multi-ball training, while the CON group undertook two Fartlek runs and one regular multi-ball training. The distance of YO-YO IR2 test (which evaluates player's ability to recover between high intensity intermittent exercises) for Male-SIT and Female-SIT groups increased from 1083.0 ± 205.8 m to 1217.5 ± 190.5 m, and from 725 ± 132.9 m to 840 ± 126.5 m (p < 0.05), respectively, which were significantly higher than both CON groups (p < 0.05). For the Male-SIT group, the ventilatory anaerobic threshold and ventilatory anaerobic threshold in percentage of VO2max significantly increased from 3088.4 ± 450.9 mL/min to 3665.3 ± 263.5 mL/min (p < 0.05),and from 74 ± 10% to 85 ± 3% (p < 0.05) after the intervention, and the increases were significantly higher than the Male-CON group (p < 0.05); for the Female-SIT group, the ventilatory anaerobic threshold and ventilatory anaerobic threshold in percentage of VO2max were significantly elevated from 1940.1 ± 112.8 mL/min to 2176.9 ± 78.6 mL/min, and from 75 ± 4% to 82 ± 4% (p < 0.05) after the intervention, which also were significantly higher than those of the Female-CON group (p < 0.05). Finally, the lactate clearance rate was raised from 13 ± 3% to 21 ± 4% (p < 0.05) and from 21 ± 5% to 27 ± 4% for both Male-SIT and Female-SIT groups when compared to the pre-test, and this increase was significantly higher than the control groups (p < 0.05). As a training method, SIT could substantially improve maximum aerobic capacity and aerobic recovery ability by improving the oxygen uptake and delivery, thus enhancing their rapid repeated sprinting ability.

As one of the core issues of autonomous vehicles, vehicle motion control directly affects vehicle safety and user experience. Therefore, it is expected to design a simple, reliable, and robust path following the controller that can handle complex situations. To deal with the longitudinal motion control problem, a speed tracking controller based on sliding mode control with nonlinear conditional integrator is proposed, and its stability is proved by the Lyapunov theory. Then, a linear parameter varying model predictive control (LPV-MPC) based lateral controller is formulated that the optimization problem is solved by CVXGEN. The nonlinear active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method is applied to the second lateral controller that is easy to be implemented and robust to parametric uncertainties and disturbances, and the pure pursuit algorithm serves as a benchmark. Simulation results in different scenarios demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control schemes, and a comparison is made to highlight the advantages and drawbacks. It can be concluded that the LPV-MPC has some trouble to handle uncertainties while the nonlinear ADRC performs slight worse tracking but has strong robustness. With the parallel development of the control theory and computing power, robust MPC may be the future direction.

INTRODUCTION: The evaluation of the functional status of blood vessels, especially the arterial system, plays a very important role in the judgment of the condition of septic shock patients and the guidance of resuscitation programs and the judgment of the therapeutic effect. We aimed to design an observational study protocol to explore the correlation of peripheral arterial pulse/resistance index, organ function and inflammation in patients with septic shock. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: A total of 60 patients with septic shock in the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University from June 2020 to September 2020 and 20 healthy volunteers will be enrolled. Total of 60 patients with septic shock will be randomly divided into 20 groups by lot method. Group 1: fluid resuscitation; Group 2: fluid resuscitation + norepinephrine; Group 3: fluid resuscitation + norepinephrine + ulinastatin; Group 4: healthy control group. Fluid resuscitation is an early goal-directed fluid resuscitation in which norepinephrine is adjusted by a senior intensive care unit specialist for clinical presentation and ulinastatin is pumped at 20,000 U/h. Index including vascular ultrasound, inflammatory factors, organ function will be collected and analyzed. DISCUSSION: Existing studies on septic shock focus on hemodynamics of the heart, brain, and kidney, while the differences in blood flow between peripheral blood vessels and protective renal vessels may be consistent, and imaging analysis is still lacking. This study protocol aims to explore the correlation of peripheral arterial pulsation index/resistance index, organ function, and inflammation in patients with septic shock. How to make a controller robust and stable to reject the disturbance of uncertainty is an inevitable challenge. Aiming at addressing the lateral control problem for an autonomous road sweeper, a heading-error-based first order linear active disturbance rejective controller (HFO-LADRC) is proposed in this paper. To eliminate the lateral error and the heading error at the same time, a new model, called the heading-error-based model, is proposed for lateral motion, and the Lyapunov function was employed to explore the convergence ability of the heading error and lateral error. Since the heading-error-based model is first order, the ADRC is designed as first order and linear, and each module of the HFO-LADRC has been devised in detail. To ensure solution accuracy, the fourth order Runge-Kutta method was adopted as the differential system solver, and a typical ring scenario and a double lane-changing scenario were designed referencing the standard. Considering the obvious influence, wheelbase uncertainty, steering ratio uncertainty and Gaussian white noise disturbance were taken into account for the tests. The results illustrate that, in the case of both wheelbase uncertainty and steer ratio uncertainty, the HFO-LADRC has strong robustness and stability compared with a typical pure pursuit controller and classical SO-LADRC.

In the present study, the conditions for Azotobacter chroococcum fermentation using Agaricus bisporus wastewater as the culture medium were optimized. We analyzed the total number of living A. chroococcum in the fermentation broth, using multispectral imaging flow cytometry. Single-factor experiments were carried out, where a Plackett-Burman design was used to screen out three factors from the original six processing factors wastewater solubility, initial pH, inoculum size, liquid volume, culture temperature, and rotation speed that affected the total number of viable A. chroococcum. The Box-Behnken response surface method was used to optimize the interactions between the three main factors and to predict the optimal fermentation conditions. Factors significantly affecting the total number of viable A. chroococcum, including rotation speed, wastewater solubility, and culture temperature, were investigated. The optimum conditions for A. chroococcum fermentation in A. bisporus wastewater were a rotation speed of 200 rpm, a solubility of 0.25%, a culture temperature of 26°C, an initial pH of 6.8, a 5% inoculation volume, a culture time of 48 h, and a liquid volume of 120 mL in a 250 mL flask. Under these conditions, the concentration of total viable bacteria reached 4.29 ± 0.02 ✕ 107 Obj/mL A. bisporus wastewater can be used for the cultivation of A. chroococcum.

Osteoporosis is a global public health concern and, it can result from numerous pathogenic mechanisms, many of which are closely related with age, nutritional disorders, endocrine imbalance, or adverse drug side effects presented by glucocorticoids, heparin, and anti-epileptics. Given its wide range etiologies, it is crucial to establish an animal model of osteoporosis for use in screening potential drugs quickly and effectively. Previous research has reported that an accumulation of elevated iron in the body is an independent risk factor for osteoporosis. As such, we sought to use both zebrafish larvae and adults to model an osteoporosis phenotype using high iron stress (FAC, ferric ammonium citrate). Skeletal staining results suggested that iron-overload caused a significant decrease in bone calcification as well as severe developmental cartilage defects. In addition, osteoblast and cartilage-specific mRNA expression levels were downregulated after exposure to a high-iron environment. Most importantly, we demonstrated in both larval and adult fish that high iron-induced osteogenic defects were significantly rescued using alendronate (AL), a drug known to be effective against to human osteoporosis. Even more, the repair effect of AL was achieved by facilitating osteoblast differentiation and targeting Bmp signaling. Taken together, our findings propose an rapid and effective osteoporosis model, which could be used widely for future osteoporosis drug screening.

A new catalytic difluorohydration of ß-alkynyl ketones using NFSI as the fluorinating reagent has been established, diastereoselectively furnishing a range of structurally diverse difluoride 1,5-dicarbonyl products through C(sp3)-H fluorination. Notably, the sterically encumbered t-butyl functionality located at the α-position of the carbonyl group of substrates 1 showed excellent diastereoselectivity (up to >99 : 1 dr). The reaction enabled multiple bond-forming events including two C(sp3)-F formation through Ag-catalysis to provide a highly efficient and practical method toward difluoride 1,5-dicarbonyls, some of which were successfully converted into difluorinated isoquinolines.

During the industrial production of canned mushroom (Agaricus bisporus), a large quantity of wastewater is produced. In this study, the wastewater generated during the canning of mushroom was analyzed. From this wastewater, four polysaccharide components (Abnp1001, Abnp1002, Abap1001, and Abap1002) with hepatic-protective activity were isolated by ultrafiltration, DEAE cellulose-52 chromatography and Sephadex G-200 size-exclusion chromatography. Results of ultraviolet spectra analysis and molecular weight determination showed that Abnp1001, Abnp1002, Abap1001 and Abap1002 were uniform with average molecular weights of 336, 12.8, 330 and 15.8kDa, respectively. The monosaccharide composition analysis using gas chromatography (GC) showed that the four fractions were heteropolysaccharides and mainly composed of glucose. Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) analysis showed that the isolated fractions were all composed of ß-glycoside linkages. Additionally, the potential hepatoprotective activities of these polysaccharides against CCl4-induced hepatic injury in mice were studied. Notably, Abnp1002 and Abap1002 could lower the alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) concentrations in serum in a dose dependent manner and reduce the hepatocellular degeneration and necrosis, as well as inflammatory infiltration. These results indicate that these two polysaccharides had protective effects on acute hepatic injury induced by CCl4 in mice and suggest that the polysaccharides extracted from A. bisporus industrial wastewater might have potential in therapeutics of acute hepatic injury.
