RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To characterize the didactic and pedagogical training offered in Brazilian stricto sensu Postgraduate Programs in Nursing. METHOD: Descriptive, documentary research, based on data from 30 postgraduate programs that offer an academic master's degree and a PhD degree. We collected the course projects and teaching plans of the disciplines related to didactic and pedagogical training, accessed through the Sucupira Platform or the institutional website. The variables were analyzed by descriptive statistics, through calculations of relative and absolute frequency. RESULTS: Regarding the lines of research of the programs, it was evidenced that 17.4% (n=20) were related to didactic and pedagogical training, 9.4% (n=3) followed this approach and, regarding compulsory didactic and pedagogical disciplines, it was observed that they were expressed differently in the curricula of masters and PhD courses, since part of the masters courses (56.6%, n=17) and of the PhD courses (76.6%, n=23) did not have this requirement. CONCLUSION: There should be a Brazilian guideline to promote the didactic and pedagogical training of university professors.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze how the indications of comprehensiveness translate into the teaching-learning process in a nursing undergraduate course. METHOD: Qualitative case study carried out with professors of a Nursing Undergraduate Course. Data collection occurred through documentary analysis, non-participant observation and individual interviews. Data analysis was guided from an analytical matrix following the steps of the operative proposal. RESULTS: Eight professors participated in the study. Some indications of comprehensiveness such as dialogue, listening, mutual respect, bonding and welcoming are present in the daily life of some professors. The indications of comprehensiveness are applied by some professors in the pedagogical relationship. The results refer to the Comprehensiveness of teaching-learning in a single and double loop model, and in this the professor and the student assume an open posture for new possibilities in the teaching-learning process. CONCLUSION: Comprehensiveness, as it is recognized as a pedagogical principle, allows the disruption of a professor-centered teaching and advances in collective learning, enabling the professor and student to create their own design anchored in a reflective process about their practices and the reality found in the health services.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To understand the capitalist influence over the production of nursing knowledge according to Brazilian and Portuguese researchers. METHOD: Descriptive, exploratory, and qualitative research, with 17 research nurses selected using the snowball technique. Data were collected from October 2011 to November 2012 in Brazil and Portugal, by means of semi-structured interviews. We analysed the content of the interviews and produced inferences based in the theoretical assumptions of Gaston Bachelard and the notion of an epistemological obstacle. RESULTS: The results were organised into three categories: Blocks to creativity/innovation and the practice of repetition; Overestimation of the quantitative; and Resistance to rupture. CONCLUSION: It is necessary to create new ways of assessing scientific literature from a qualitative perspective that allows room for creativity, professional development, and critical and reflective thinking. Solidarity is perceived as an alternative to overcoming the problems caused by the capitalist way of producing knowledge.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: to understand nurses' leadership perceptions during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazilian university hospitals, through the lens of John Kotter's concepts and his eight-step change model. METHOD: a multicenter qualitative research with an analytical design. The sample comprised 139 nurses working in COVID-19 settings, interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide. Data were categorized through Bardin's content analysis based on John Kotter's concepts and his eight-step change model. RESULTS: the findings yielded significant insights into nurses' perceptions of leadership during the COVID-19 response, which exhibited characteristics consistent with Kotter's principles. There is evidence of leadership based on the pursuit of knowledge, grounded in polished communication, facilitating teamwork through a relationship of trust and respect. The recognition of the complexity and difficulty of exercising nursing leadership, particularly in crisis contexts, is apparent. CONCLUSION: nurses' perceptions reinforce essential elements for leadership practice, such as the importance of seeking diverse knowledge, polished communication, relationships based on trust and respect, and recognition of the complexity of leadership, thus presenting characteristics in line with Kotter's principles. HIGHLIGHTS: (1) Nurses' perceptions of leadership during COVID-19 were highlighted. (2) COVID-19 intensified the complexity in nurses' leadership roles. (3) Nurses' leadership was consolidated in knowledge, communication, trust. (4) Working in the COVID-19 response as a nurse-leader has become challenging. (5) Kotter's principles assist in reflections on nurses' leadership.

RESUMEN

The objective of this study is to identify the scientific production in the context of nursing produced in the last decade (1999-2008). This literature review was performed using the LILACS database and included studies published as articles, theses, dissertations, editorials and presentations in events. Studies were written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish with the electronic full-text version available. A form was developed to register the data regarding the production, which included: reference, source of the manuscript, year, category, objective, methodology and theoretical framework. A total of 57 publications were found; most were original, descriptive articles performed in the hospital environment, and very few studies were founded on the Leadership Theory. It is necessary to adopt leadership development programs and permanent education projects within health services, with the purpose of preparing nurses to work as leaders.

RESUMEN

The aim of this study is to characterize the organization of nursing education research groups in Brazil. This is a quantitative, descriptive and documentary study. Census data for 2006 were collected from the CNPq database website. Brazil has 47 education research groups, comprised of 412 researchers, of whom 91% have masters, doctoral or postdoctoral degrees. There are 307 students, of whom 92% are nursing undergraduates. However, only 9% are recipients of young investigator grants. There are also 112 technicians, of whom 75% are nursing professionals; 46% have a masters or doctoral degree. In Brazil, there are a considerable number of nursing education research groups, which contribute significantly to scientific production of nursing knowledge in Latin America. In this scenario, there are many challenges to be overcome: poor interdisciplinary cooperation; limited integration between education and practice; low number of grants awarded to young investigators and significant inequalities between the country's geographic regions in terms of access to research development.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the theoretical-practical articulation of the continuous learning of leadership in undergraduate Nursing. METHODS: Case study carried out at a Northeast federal public university. For data collection, semi-structured interview techniques, workshops, and document analysis were applied. Forty Nursing students participated in the interviews, and 26 in the workshops. The data were submitted to Minayo's operative analysis using the Nvivo software. Peter Senge's concepts were adopted. RESULTS: The students demonstrated a greater understanding of the theme throughout the course and recognized contributing elements to the continuous learning of leadership, such as behavioral characteristics and the use of methodological approaches integrated with theoretical and practical spaces. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The teaching of leadership is relevant in Nursing education, and this has been recognized by students, but still requires changes for it to become operational, with an improvement and a theoretical-practical integration of the cultivated experiences, suitable to the reality of the craft.

RESUMEN

This research aimed to present the profile of production of Nursing Education Research Groups (NERG) scientific and technological production in the South of Brazil. This documentary, quantitative, exploratory-descriptive retrospective research was guided by the active search for products in the Lattes curriculum of previously selected NERG researchers, based on the 2006 Census of the Research Group Directory/CNPq, between 1995 and 2008. The results indicated that the 18 NERG from southern Brazil produced 453 papers in proceedings, 371 book chapters, 206 books, 1,437 scientific articles and 08 technological products, but no patent was registered. NERGs scientific production in the research region has grown progressively over the past 14 years. To strengthen this structure, the establishment of collaborative networks can be used as a strategy, so that political-scientific joint actions in the sector can advance science and technology.

RESUMEN

This is a theoretical reflection that aims to encourage readers to rethink the role of permanent education of health and nursing subjects/workers in the perspective of individual and collective development through transformative praxis. We tried to make a thoughtful articulation about principles of transformative praxis presented by the philosopher Adolfo Sánchez Vázquez with the precepts of permanent education in health and nursing work. This articulation presents an educational concept in favor of the subject-worker's awareness about the distinct contributions of personal, social, relational and institutional arrangements that may result from different ways of perceiving and practicing permanent education in health and nursing work.
