RESUMEN

The objective of this study was to conduct a meta-analysis to determine risk factors that may facilitate patient selection for radical resections or additional resections after a polypectomy. Eligible articles were identified by searches of PUBMED, Cochrane Library and Korean Medical Database using the terms (early colorectal carcinoma [ECC], lymph node metastasis [LNM], colectomy, endoscopic resection). Thirteen cohort studies of 7,066 ECC patients who only underwent radical surgery have been analysed. There was a significant risk of LNM when they had submucosal invasion (≥ SM2 or ≥ 1,000 µm) (odds Ratio [OR], 3.00; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.36-6.62, P = 0.007). Moreover, it has been found that vascular invasion (OR, 2.70; 95% CI, 1.95-3.74; P < 0.001), lymphatic invasion (OR, 6.91; 95% CI, 5.40-8.85; P < 0.001), poorly differentiated carcinomas (OR, 8.27; 95% CI, 4.67-14.66; P < 0.001) and tumor budding (OR, 4.59; 95% CI, 3.44-6.13; P < 0.001) were significantly associated with LNM. Furthermore, another analysis was carried out on eight cohort studies of 310 patients who underwent additional surgeries after an endoscopic resection. The major factors identified in these studies include lymphovascular invasion on polypectomy specimens (OR, 5.47; 95% CI, 2.46-12.17; P < 0.001) and poorly or moderately differentiated carcinomas (OR, 4.07; 95% CI, 1.08-15.33; P = 0.04). For ECC patients with ≥ SM2 or ≥ 1,000 µm submucosal invasion, vascular invasion, lymphatic invasion, poorly differentiated carcinomas or tumor budding, it is deemed that a more extensive resection accompanied by a lymph node dissection is necessary. Even if the lesion is completely removed by an endoscopic resection, an additional surgical resection should be considered in patients with poorly or moderately differentiated carcinomas or lymphovascular invasion.

BACKGROUND: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a promising cell source for cartilage regeneration. However, the function of MSC can vary according to cell culture conditions, donor age, and heterogeneity of the MSC population, resulting in unregulated MSC quality control. To overcome these limitations, we previously developed a fluorescent real-time thiol tracer (FreSHtracer) that monitors cellular levels of glutathione (GSH), which are known to be closely associated with stem cell function. In this study, we investigated whether using FreSHtracer could selectively separate high-functioning MSCs based on GSH levels and evaluated the chondrogenic potential of MSCs with high GSH levels to repair cartilage defects in vivo. METHODS: Flow cytometry was conducted on FreSHtracer-loaded MSCs to select cells according to their GSH levels. To determine the function of FreSHtracer-isolated MSCs, mRNA expression, migration, and CFU assays were conducted. The MSCs underwent chondrogenic differentiation, followed by analysis of chondrogenic-related gene expression. For in vivo assessment, MSCs with different cellular GSH levels or cell culture densities were injected in a rabbit chondral defect model, followed by histological analysis of cartilage-regenerated defect sites. RESULTS: FreSHtracer successfully isolated MSCs according to GSH levels. MSCs with high cellular GSH levels showed enhanced MSC function, including stem cell marker mRNA expression, migration, CFU, and oxidant resistance. Regardless of the stem cell tissue source, FreSHtracer selectively isolated MSCs with high GSH levels and high functionality. The in vitro chondrogenic potential was the highest in pellets generated by MSCs with high GSH levels, with increased ECM formation and chondrogenic marker expression. Furthermore, the MSCs' function was dependent on cell culture conditions, with relatively higher cell culture densities resulting in higher GSH levels. In vivo, improved cartilage repair was achieved by articular injection of MSCs with high levels of cellular GSH and MSCs cultured under high-density conditions, as confirmed by Collagen type 2 IHC, Safranin-O staining and O'Driscoll scores showing that more hyaline cartilage was formed on the defects. CONCLUSION: FreSHtracer selectively isolates highly functional MSCs that have enhanced in vitro chondrogenesis and in vivo hyaline cartilage regeneration, which can ultimately overcome the current limitations of MSC therapy.

BACKGROUND: Confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) allows real-time in vivo histologic evaluation of GI lesions. To our knowledge, there is no reported prospective study comparing endoscopic and optical biopsy using CLE before endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) with post-ESD histopathology. OBJECTIVE: We compared endoscopic and optical biopsy before ESD and thereby assessed the ability of CLE to effectively diagnose and differentiate gastric epithelial neoplasia. DESIGN: Single tertiary-care center, prospective comparative study. SETTING: Soonchunhyang University Hospital, between September 2009 and April 2010. PATIENTS: This study involved 31 patients with 35 gastric epithelial neoplasias, previously diagnosed by endoscopic biopsy, who were scheduled for ESD. INTERVENTION: Target lesions were imaged in vivo by using CLE. MAIN OUTCOME MEASUREMENTS: The overall accuracy of endoscopic and CLE diagnosis was compared with post-ESD histopathology. RESULTS: In histopathology after ESD, 11 of 35 lesions (31.5%) were adenomas and 24 (68.5%) were adenocarcinomas. The overall accuracy of CLE diagnosis of gastric adenomas and adenocarcinomas was significantly higher at 94.2% (95% confidence interval [CI], 81.3-98.4), versus 85.7% (95% CI, 70.6-93.7) for endoscopic biopsy (P = .031). The overall accuracy of CLE diagnosis of differentiated and undifferentiated adenocarcinomas also was higher (95.4%; 95% CI, 78.2-99.1) than that of endoscopic biopsy (84.2%; 95% CI, 62.4-94.4) but did not differ significantly (P = .146). LIMITATIONS: Single tertiary-care center experience and small patient number. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates the high accuracy of diagnosis of gastric epithelial neoplasia by using CLE. The use of CLE could possibly thus reduce the number of unnecessary biopsies and mistaken diagnoses before ESD.

Astragalus extract mixture HT042 is a standardized functional food granted by the Korean FDA for promoting "Children's Height Growth". In this study, we determined whether HT042 affects circulatory Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) after administration and investigated whether Growth hormone (GH), Growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor (GHRH-R), and Growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R) mRNAs are expressed in the pituitary, and whether Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) and Somatostatin (SST) are expressed in the hypothalamus. We also evaluated the growth effect of HT042 on endochondral bone formation. Male Sprague-Dawley rats in the control and HT042 groups were orally administered a single dose of the control and HT042, respectively, and those in the recombinant human GH (rhGH) group were subcutaneously injected with rhGH. Tetracycline was injected intraperitoneally 72 h prior to sacrifice to decide endochondral bone formation. To determine the endocrine or paracrine/autocrine mechanism, we evaluated the expression of local BMP-2 and IGF-1, an immunohistochemical study after HT042 administration. It was confirmed that the growth-promoting effect of HT042 can be contributed to the increase in serum IGF-1, which can be stimulated by GH secretion. Administration of HT042 modulated the activity of GHRH-R and GHR-S in the pituitary gland and promoted GH secretion, thereby changing longitudinal growth through GH/IGF-1 mediation. Results for GHRH and SST expression demonstrated that the hypothalamus can be influenced and mediated by HT042 through a complex neuroendocrine regulatory system. In addition, it was confirmed by oral administration for 10 days that HT042 increased bone formation in cartilage, which is important for height growth. The effect of HT042 could be owing to upregulation of local Bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) and IGF-1 expression in the growth plate, which could be regarded as a GH-dependent autocrine/paracrine pathway, as well as circulatory IGF-1.

BACKGROUND: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is increasingly being performed for early gastric cancers (EGCs) that are larger than 2 cm and those that are not intestinal-type (IT) cancers by Lauren's classification. The technical feasibility of ESD for these EGCs has not been fully evaluated. OBJECTIVE: To identify appropriate expanded indications for ESD of EGC. DESIGN AND SETTING: A retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data was performed on consecutive patients who underwent ESD at a single tertiary center. PATIENTS AND METHODS: In total, 487 EGCs in 461 patients treated by ESD were classified by size and histologic type: IT EGCs 2 cm or less (257 lesions in 235 patients), IT EGCs larger than 2 cm (172 lesions in 168 patients), and non-IT EGCs (58 lesions in 58 patients). MAIN OUTCOME MEASUREMENTS: Curative resections were assessed among the 3 groups, and logistic regression analysis was used to analyze factors related to curative resection. RESULTS: The rates of curative resection significantly decreased from IT EGCs 2 cm or less (88.7%) to IT EGCs larger than 2 cm (73.3%) to non-IT EGCs (37.9%). Tumor size (>3 cm), ulceration, histologic type (non-IT), and piecemeal resection were independently unfavorable factors in curative resection. LIMITATIONS: Small sample size and short-term duration of follow-up study. CONCLUSIONS: ESD with curative intent is technically most feasible for nonulcerative and IT EGCs smaller than 3 cm.

RESUMEN

Adult intussusception represents 5% of all cases of intussusception and accounts for only 1-5% intestinal obstructions. Intussusception is a rare complication after gastric surgery with an incidence estimated at 0.1%. Early diagnosis of the acute onset intussusception is critical because mortality rates increase abruptly with delay in surgical treatment. We present here a case of jejunogastric intussusception diagnosed by gastroscopy in a patient with a history of distal gastrectomy due to early gastric cancer who had experienced hematemesis.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: The correct pathologic review is very important after endoscopic submucosal dissection. The cut direction of specimen should be the right angle of the closest area between the lesion and the lateral margin for the correct pathologic review. The aim of this study was to evaluate the concordance of the gross finding and stereoscopic finding compared to the pathologic mapping in the setting of the cut direction. METHODS: Between December 2008 and May 2009, the objects were 48 specimens in 46 patients who were diagnosed with early gastric cancer and high grade adenoma after endoscopic submucosal dissection. The specimens were stained with hematoxylin and observed by the stereoscopy and analyzed by the image analysis system. The cut direction was divided by an angle of 45 degree based on the oral side of the specimen, and the cut directions of the gross finding, the stereoscopic finding, and the pathologic finding were compared. RESULTS: The concordance of the gross finding in the setting of the cut direction was 68% (33/48), and the kappa value was 0.626, and the concordance of the stereoscopic finding in the setting of the cut direction was 87% (33/48), and the kappa value was 0.874. The accuracy of the gross finding was significantly lower than that of the stereoscopic finding in the setting of the cut direction (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The endoscopist needs the careful observation and close attention in the setting of the cut direction of the specimen by gross finding, and stereoscopic analysis may be a useful tool for decision of the cut direction.

This study aimed to investigate the metabolic effect of yogurt fermented by Lactobacillus fermentum TSI and S2 isolated from a Mongolian traditional dairy product on rats with high-fat-diet-induced obesity. Quality characteristics of yogurt fermented by commercial starter (CON), L. fermentum TSI2 (TSI2 group), L. fermentum S2 (S2 group), and mixed TSI2 and S2 strains at 1:1 (MIX group), were verified. Six-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into five groups and administered the following diets: group NOR, normal diet with oral saline administration; group HF, high-fat diet (HD) with oral saline administration; group TSI, HD and L. fermentum TSI-fermented yogurt; group S2, HD and L. fermentum S2-fermented yogurt; and group MIX, HD and MIX-fermented yogurt. After eight weeks, the HD groups displayed significantly increased body weight and fat, serum cholesterol, and abdominal adipose tissue levels. However, serum HDL cholesterol levels were higher, triglyceride levels were lower, and abdominal adipocytes were smaller in the TSI and S2 groups than in the HF group. These results indicate that L. fermentum TSI reduces abdominal fat and improves blood lipid metabolism in HD-induced obese rats.

Processed meat products are prone to oxidative damage and quality decline during storage; however, these problems can be mitigated by the proper formulation of meat productions. This study evaluated the effects of natural anti-oxidants found in Boswellia serrata (B), whey protein powder (W), and their combination on pork patties during storage, exploring changes in textural properties and lipid oxidation susceptibility. The 2% whey-added group exhibited a higher crude protein content than the untreated control group. The highest water-holding capacity and lowest cooking losses were observed in mixed-additive groups (WB1 (2% W/0.5% B) and WB2 (2% W/1.0% B), and the highest sensory scores for overall acceptability were obtained for WB1. Adding B. serrata can neutralize the hardness caused by whey powder, thereby improving palatability. From 7 d (days 7), the extents of lipid oxidation, determined using 2-thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) analysis, for the WB1 and WB2 groups were significantly lower than that of the control group. The WB1 and WB2 groups exhibited substantially suppressed total bacterial colony and Escherichia coli counts relative to the control group. Our findings suggest that the additive combination of B. serrata and whey protein powders can suppress lipid oxidation, improve storage stability, and enhance textural properties in the production of functional pork patties.

This study investigated the effects of L-cysteine (C) combined with Boswellia serrata (B) and whey protein (W) on the antioxidant and physicochemical properties of pork patties. Proximate composition, water holding capacity (WHC), pH, texture profile analysis, sensory evaluation, thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS), DPPH radical-scavenging activity, volatile basic nitrogen (VBN), and color stability were assessed. Patty VBN gradually increased throughout the storage period. However, VBN for the C treatment increased relatively slowly, indicating that cysteine can delay spoilage and extend the shelf life of patties. The protein content of the whey powder treatment group increased to a greater extent than that of the C and control (CON) groups. Pork patties supplemented with antioxidants showed significantly higher WHC and significantly lower cooking loss and hardness than the CON. Moreover, the addition of 2% whey, 1% B. serrata, and 0.25% cysteine (WBC) significantly enhanced the relative DPPH radical-scavenging activity and sensory characteristics of the patties. After 7-day storage, the MetMb and TBARS values of all treatments were significantly lower than those of the untreated. The results indicated that there was synergy among the cysteine, B. serrata, and whey protein. This finding is of great importance to the production of high-quality pork patties with enhanced shelf life.

BACKGROUND: The technique of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) was introduced to be able to obtain en bloc specimens of large early GI neoplasms. The drawback of ESD is its technical difficulty, which, consequently, is associated with a higher rate of complication and which requires advanced endoscopic techniques and a long procedure time. OBJECTIVE: To assess the therapeutic outcome of ESD by expert endoscopists who have at least 3 years' experience of EMR in Korea. DESIGN: A retrospective, multicenter study. PATIENTS: From January 2006 to June 2007, 1000 early gastric cancers in 952 patients (502 men, 450 women; mean age 62.1 years, range 43-90 years) were treated by using ESD at 6 Korean ESD study group (KESG)-related university hospitals in Korea. INTERVENTION: We performed ESD procedures with typical sequences (marking, incision, and submucosal dissection). MAIN OUTCOME MEASUREMENTS: The rate of en bloc resection, incidence of complication, and length of procedure. Predetermined factors (various endoscopic and final pathologic features) for these outcomes. RESULTS: The rates of en bloc resection, complete en bloc resection, vertical incomplete resection, and piecemeal resection were 95.3%, 87.7%, 1.8%, and 4.1%, respectively. The rates of delayed bleeding, significant bleeding, perforation, and surgery related to complication were 15.6%, 0.6%, 1.2%, and 0.2%, respectively. The mean procedure time was 47.8 +/- 38.3 minutes. The rates of en bloc resection differed significantly in relation to the location of the lesions (upper portion vs middle portion vs lower portion of the stomach, 88.6% vs 95.2% vs 96.0%, respectively; P = .02), presence of a scar (no vs yes, 96.0% vs 89.5%, respectively; P = .002), and histologic type (low-grade adenoma vs high-grade adenoma vs differentiated early gastric cancer vs undifferentiated early gastric cancer, 95.8% vs 94.6% vs 96.2% vs 83.8%, respectively; P = .007). The rates of delayed bleeding differed significantly in relation to location (upper portion vs lower portion of the stomach, 28.6% vs 13.8%, respectively; P = .003), the size of the tumor (>40 mm vs <20 mm, 28.6% vs 13.7%, respectively; P = .009), recurrent lesion (29.4% vs 15.1%, respectively; P = .024), and macroscopic type (flat vs elevated, 18.8% vs 12.4%, respectively; P = .047). Factors related to the longer procedure time were location (upper portion vs lower portion of the stomach, 64.8 vs 44.1 minutes, respectively; P < .001), the size of the tumor (>40 mm vs < 20 mm, 67.1 vs 42.0 minutes, respectively; P < .001), the presence of ulcer (54.6 vs 46.8 minutes; P < .045), and the presence of a scar (69.2 vs 45.0 minutes; P < .001). CONCLUSIONS: ESD is an effective and safe therapy in the management of early gastric neoplasms. Endoscopists have to accept the need for advanced endoscopic techniques for performing ESD in the case of large lesions, scar lesions, undifferentiated cancers, or for the lesions in the upper portion of the stomach. Endoscopists require more experience to decrease complications in patients who have a large or recurrent lesion in the upper portion of the stomach; these lesions also take more time to complete the ESD procedure.

The Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (KSGE) has organized an ESD research group and made several plans to standardize pathologic and therapeutic points of view. This article is to introduce the present and future view of ESD in Korea.

This study was investigated to evaluate the antioxidant activity, the angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibition effect, and the α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibition activities of hot pepper water extracts both before and after their fermentation. The fermented pepper water extract (FP) showed significantly higher total phenol content, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical inhibition effect, metal chelating activity and ACE inhibition activity compared to the non-fermented raw pepper water extract (RP) (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the FP showed lower α-amylase and higher α-glucosidase inhibitory activities, but the RP showed similar levels of α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities. Taken together, these results suggested that fermented pepper extract using water should be expected to have potentially inhibitory effects against both hyperglycemia and hypertension.

The supplementation with natural ingredients that are rich in polyphenols could improve the quality and functionality of yogurt. Lotus leaf (LL) are abundant in phenolic compounds. We aimed to investigate the effects of LL powder on the quality properties, total phenolic content (TPC), and antioxidant activity of yogurt. Yogurt was supplemented with four different concentrations (0%, 0.2%, 0.5%, and 1%) of LL powder and evaluated for 14 d refrigerated storage. During storage, the titratable acidity (TA) of all LL yogurt groups was higher than that of the control (p<0.05). The L* and a* values decreased by LL addition to the yogurts, while the b* values increased. All LL yogurt groups indicated better viscosity than that of control, and among them, 0.2% LL yogurts had the highest viscosity without significant decrease until the end of the storage duration. The addition of LL into yogurt enhanced the water-holding capacity (WHC) by at least 1.5-fold than that of control for the entire storage duration. The TPC of yogurts gradually increased with the addition of LL (p<0.05) and continued to increase during storage; the 1% LL yogurt at 14 d showed the highest value of 61.94±1.68 µg GAE/g. The DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity and reducing power of the yogurts were also significantly enhanced with increasing LL concentrations (p<0.05). These results suggest that lotus leaf may be useful as a natural ingredient for improving the quality and antioxidant activity of yogurt.

This study evaluated the lignan contents of raw omija (R) and sugared omija (S), byproducts discarded after the use of raw omija, by HPLC and determined their bioactivity by feeding rats R and S for eight weeks. S retained 63% more lignan than R. Body weight gains in the raw omija-fed group (RO) and sugared omija-fed group (SO) decreased significantly compared to that of the control group (CON, p < 0.05). Glucose and aspartate aminotransferase levels in the serum of the experimental groups were lower than those in CON, especially in SO (p < 0.05). The amount of atrial natriuretic peptide in RO decreased significantly compared to that in CON (p < 0.05). The renin activity in RO increased and that in SO decreased compared to the same in CON (p > 0.05). Therefore, it was suggested that sugared omija contains lignan compounds and potentially contributes to bioactivity in that it decreases blood glucose levels and blood pressure.

This study investigated the effect of storage state (chilled state on sous-vide, CS; frozen state without thawing on sous-vide, FS; and frozen/thawed states on sous-vide, TS) and sous-vide cooking temperature (65°C and 72°C) on the longissimus dorsi muscle quality of pork. FS showed a higher moisture content than that of CS and TS (p<0.001), whereas both FS and CS showed higher expressible moisture loss than that of TS (p<0.001). FS showed a lower cooking loss (p<0.001) than that of CS and TS. FS and TS exhibited significantly higher lipid oxidation than that of CS. Carbonyl and sulfhydryl content were not significantly affected by the storage treatment. FS and TS exhibited lower shear force than that of CS (p<0.001). FS and TS showed higher springiness than that of CS (p<0.001), FS exhibited lower gumminess than that of CS and TS (p<0.01). Sous-vide treatment at 65°C exhibited significantly higher moisture content and lower expressible moisture loss, cooking loss, and total and sarcoplasmic protein than those at 72°C. Shear force and springiness of 65°C-treated groups were lower than those of 72°C-treated groups (p<0.01). Cooking temperature significantly influenced overall acceptability, whereas the storage state did not affect the overall acceptability. These results indicated that meat quality might be improved upon cooking from the frozen or frozen/thawed state using sous-vide when compared with traditional processing.

AIM: To introduce and evaluate the efficacy and technical aspects of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) using a novel device, the Fork knife. METHODS: From March 2004 to April 2008, ESD was performed on 265 gastric lesions using a Fork knife (Endo FS) (group A) and on 72 gastric lesions using a Flexknife (group B) at a single tertiary referral center. We retrospectively compared the endoscopic characteristics of the tumors, pathological findings, and sizes of the resected specimens. We also compared the en bloc resection rate, complete resection rate, complications, and procedure time between the two groups. RESULTS: The mean size of the resected specimens was 4.27 +/- 1.26 cm in group A and 4.29 +/- 1.48 cm in group B. The en bloc resection rate was 95.8% (254/265 lesions) in group A and 93.1% (67/72) in group B. Complete ESD without tumor cell invasion of the resected margin was obtained in 81.1% (215/265) of group A and in 73.6% (53/72) of group B. The perforation rate was 0.8% (2/265) in group A and 1.4% (1/72) in group B. The mean procedure time was 59.63 +/- 56.12 min in group A and 76.65 +/- 70.75 min in group B (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The Fork knife (Endo FS) is useful for clinical practice and has the advantage of reducing the procedure time.

The antioxidant effects of Allium hookeri root (AHR) were investigated by evaluating lipid and protein oxidation in meatballs during refrigerated storage at 4±1℃. AHR was mixed at concentrations of 0.5% (w/w, T2) and 1% (w/w, T3) with minced longissimus dorsi muscle. Meatballs containing AHR (T2 and T3) were compared to those containing 0.05% (w/w) ascorbic acid (T1) as a reference and without antioxidant as a control. The 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) value, disulfide bond formation, carbonyl contents, and volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) value of T2 were lower than those of the control during storage (p<0.05). The pH values of T2 and T3 were higher than that of the control (p<0.05). Texture profile analysis of T2 revealed a lower value compared to the control (p<0.05). Therefore, the VBN value, TBARS value, disulfide bond formation, and carbonyl content in meatball containing AHR were lower than those of the control meatball. These results indicate that AHR improves the quality of meat products and functions as an antioxidant.

The objective of this study was to determine the antioxidant and quality characteristics of yogurt added green olive powder stored at 4°Ð¡ for 15 d. The following four groups were used in this study: Control group (GY0), Yogurt added with 1% green olive (GY1), with 3% green olive (GY3), and with 5% green olive (GY5). The more time of titratable acidity went by, the more it increased. Except GY0, viscosity tended to decrease in other groups (p>0.05), and the more time of syneresis went by, the more it increased, but GY3 of them showed the lowest syneresis. Lactic acid bacteria showed no significant with GY0 until 5 d, but after that, GY1, GY3 and GY5 showed lower than GY0. Yogurt added green olive showed darker color than GY0 (low L* and high a*). The antioxidant activity of GY5 was found to be the highest among the four groups at day 1 of storage. Total phenolic content, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, and reducing power of GY5 was found to be the highest among the four groups at day 1 of storage which were 6.96 mg GAE/kg, 47.53%, and 0.57, respectively. In the sensory evaluation sweet and overall of GY3 indicated the highest score among the four groups. Results of this study demonstrated that green olive powder might be used to improve the antioxidant capacity and sensory characteristics of yogurt.
