RESUMEN

Vincristine (VCR) is widely used in cancer therapies, although its benefits on cardiac fibrosis remain unknown. Here, we investigated VCR's efficacy on cardiac fibrosis and elucidated the underlying mechanism of action. Network pharmacology was employed to predict the mechanism of VCR action on cardiac fibrosis. We induced cardiac fibrosis in adult male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats via isoproterenol (ISO) injection, followed by treatment with VCR or vehicle. After 10 days of treatment, VCR-treated rats exhibited a significantly lower heart/body weight ratio relative to those treated with the vehicle. Moreover, cardiac fibrosis was alleviated in VCR-treated rats relative to vehicle-treated rats. The results revealed the down-regulation of mature caspase-1, interleukin (IL)-1ß, and IL-18 in VCR-treated rats relative to vehicle-treated rats. We also observed less colocalization between the nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) and apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC) in VCR-treated rats compared with vehicle-treated rats. We then cultured neonatal rat cardiac fibroblasts (NRCFs) and exposed them to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in the presence or absence of VCR. The results indicated that VCR mediated the down-regulation of caspase-1, IL-1ß, and IL-18 and the colocalization of NLRP3 and ASC in LPS+ATP-stimulated cardiac fibroblasts (CFs). We found evidence that VCR attenuates cardiac fibrosis by directly suppressing the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome. These findings provide novel insights into VCR's mechanism of action in alleviating cardiac fibrosis.

RESUMEN

In this paper, a MoS2/MXene/N-doped carbon (NC) porous composite microsphere with a wrinkled surface was designed and constructed. Lithium fluoride exfoliation and lithium-ion etching fabricated two types of 2D assembly elements, MXene (Ti3C2Tx) and MoS2 nanosheets. The two nanosheets were self-assembled by an ultrasonic spray technique with high-temperature reduction, and MoS2/MXene microspheres with 3Dwrinkled shapes were obtained. The coating of the surface NC layer was achieved by the carbonization of a polydopamine (PDA) precursor formed by the self-polymerization of dopamine. The amount of PDA coating and raw material ratio significantly affect the microstructure and electromagnetic wave absorption performance. The optimal MXene to MoS2 mass ratio is 5:1, and the optimal coating time and filler amount are 8 h and 40%. MoS2/MXene/NC composite microspheres exhibit excellent absorption performance with low reflection losses (RLmin) of -52.9 dB at 6.4 GHz and high adequate absorption bandwidths of 5.2 GHz. By adjusting the thickness of the absorber, the full coverage of the C-Ku band (4-18 GHz) can be achieved. As a new composite absorber, it has significant potential applications.

RESUMEN

This study used metagenomic sequencing to examine the effects of carbon-based zinc oxide nanoparticles (CZnONPs) and graphene-based zinc oxide nanoparticles (GZnONPs) on quorum sensing (QS), antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and microbial community changes during cattle manure production. The manure zinc content was significantly reduced in GZnONPs group. In the QS pathway, the autoinducer gene increases significantly in Control group, while the transporter and repressor genes experience a substantial increase in CZnONPs group. These results contributed to the significantly decreased the abundance of ARGs in GZnONPs group. The co-occurrence network analysis revealed a correlation between core ARGs and QS-related KEGG Orthology or ARGs' hosts, indicating that the selective pressure of zinc influences microbial QS, forming a unique ARG pattern in in vivo anaerobic fermentation. These findings suggest that implementing nutritional regulation in farming practices can serve as a preventive measure to mitigate the potential transmission of ARGs resulting from livestock waste.

RESUMEN

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, a series of chain reactions, like international trade breakdown, stock market collapse, and crude oil's collapse, have adversely affected the global economy, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As a result, the Chinese government issued many fiscal and financial policies to support SMEs. This paper analyzes SMEs' coping methods and conceptual changes affected by the epidemic and distinguishes "victims" and "beneficiaries." Subsequently, based on extensive international experience and local government experience, it provides effective suggestions for the Chinese government to deal with the post-epidemic era's economic changes, policy suggestions, and coping strategies for SMEs' short-term and long-term sustainable development.

RESUMEN

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease of the brain. It cannot be cured currently, and those suffering from AD place a great burden on their caregivers and society. AD is characterized by high levels of iron ions in the brain, which catalyze radicals that damage the neurons. Knowing that the Aß42 peptide precipitates iron by binding iron ions at amino acid residues D1, E3, H11, H13, and H14, we synthesized a 5-repeat (HAYED) sequence peptide. By treating iron-stressed SH-SY5Y cells with it and injecting it into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of naturally senescence Kunming mouse, which displaying AD-similar symptoms such as learning and memory dysfunction, neuron degeneration and high level of iron in brain, we found that HAYED (5) decreased the iron and radical levels in the cell culture medium and in the CSF. Specially, the synthesized peptide prevented cell and brain damage. Furthermore, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), Morris water maze and passive avoidance tests demonstrated that the peptide ameliorated brain blood-oxygen metabolism and slowed cognitive loss in the experimental senescence mice, and clinical and blood tests showed that HAYED (5) was innoxious to the kidney, the liver and blood and offset the AD-associated inflammation and anemia.
