RESUMEN

The article presents the results of a multi-center observational study carried out in 2014-2015 comprising 630 male patients from 23 Russian health care institutions. The study aimed to accumulate epidemiological data on sexual dysfunction in men and test the efficacy and safety of biologically active complex NeyroDoz. Data for the study were collected using questionnaires. The study findings showed a high prevalence of premature ejaculation (PE) in 38.2% of patients with chronic prostatitis (CP) and in 33.25% of patients with erectile dysfunction (ED). The data were analyzed for the total study population (n=630) and separately for three groups of patients selected according to the presence of PE (n=582), orgasmic disorders without PE (n=17) and increased anxiety related to urological diseases without PE (n=31). In all patients of the study, NeyroDoz intake produced a statistically significant increase in the intensity of orgasm from 5,0+/-2,2 to 7,6+/-1,8 points, duration of sexual intercourse from 3,3+/-5,4 to 6,5+/-4,8 min, and satisfaction with sexual intercourse from 1,4+/-0,7 to 3,1+/-1,1 points. In 81% of PE patients the duration of penetration phase of sexual intercourse increased by 50% of the baseline values. The intensity of orgasm increased on average by 60% and 75% in men with PE and orgasm disorders without PE, respectively. Reduction of psycho-emotional burden was observed in 90% of patients with anxiety and depression. The dietary supplement NeyroDoz showed clinical efficacy and safety in the combined treatment of sexual dysfunction in men.

RESUMEN

A judicious analysis of previously published experimental data leads one to conclude that the ground state of iron(II) phthalocyanine is an orbitally degenerate spin triplet a(1g)(2) e(g)(↑↓↑) b(2g)(↑) ((3)Eg). The ligand field parameters, in relation to Racah's C, are approximately as follows: B20∕C = 0.84, B40∕C = 0.0074. The uniqueness of this result is demonstrated by means of a special diagram in the B20∕C - B40∕C plane (under additional conditions that B44∕B40 = 35∕3 and B∕C = 0.227). The system is in a strong-ligand-field regime, which enables the use of single-determinant techniques corrected for correlations within the 3d shell of Fe.

RESUMEN

AIM: Study species composition and biological properties of microorganisms isolated from lower respiratory tract of 34 patients of surgical departments during mechanical lung ventilation. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 59 strains of microorganisms were isolated and identified by established methods from tracheobronchial secretion during intubation and extubation. Hemolytic and anti-lysozyme activity was determined in isolates by methods described previously (O.V. Bukharin, 1999). RESULTS: During extubation an increase of seeding of tracheobronchial secretion in patients, increase of microorganism species diversity and frequency of occurrence of highly virulent strains characterized by the ability to hemolyze erythrocytes and high values of anti-lysozyme activity were established. CONCLUSION: The data obtained may be used to prognose the risk of development of diseases of respiratory system.

RESUMEN

Magnetization study of a single crystal of Nd(2)Fe(14)Si(3) (with the rhombohedral Th(2)Zn(17)-type structure) reveals that the compound is a ferromagnet with a spontaneous magnetic moment of 32.3µ(B) per formula unit (at T = 2 K) and a Curie temperature equal to 495 K. The easy-magnetization direction lies close to the b-axis, tilting slightly towards the c-axis. (The b-axis [120] is not a high-symmetry direction in the crystallographic class D(3d).) The observed strong magnetic anisotropy is attributed almost entirely to the Nd sublattice, as concluded from comparison with a Y(2)Fe(14)Si(3) single crystal. A magnetic field applied along the c-axis induces a first-order spin reorientation transition at B(FOMP) = 20 T. In the process of magnetization the Nd and Fe sublattices behave as essentially non-collinear. This is manifest particularly in the downward curvature of the first (pre-FOMP) stage of the magnetization curve. It is proposed to regard this curvature as a validity criterion for the single-sublattice approximation.

RESUMEN

We report the attainment of the ferromagnetic state in an interstitially modified heavy rare-earth-iron intermetallic compound in an external magnetic field. The starting composition is RE2Fe17, which is the RE-Fe binary richest in iron. We concentrate on the Tm-Fe compound, which is the most sensitive to magnetic field. The maximum possible amount of hydrogen (5 at.H/f.u.) is inserted into a Tm2Fe17 single crystal. We demonstrate that in a magnetic field of 57 T Tm2Fe17H5 reaches the ferromagnetic state with an enviably high polarization of 2.25 T.

RESUMEN

Changes in the antilysozyme activity of bacteria under the action of high temperature and short-wave hyperthermia have been studied. The regulating influence of these factors on the species composition and persistence characteristics of the microflora of ejaculate obtained from sterile patients has been demonstrated. A method for the treatment of male sterility is proposed.

RESUMEN

Microorganisms can be isolated from most seminal fluid samples, but the significance of bacteriospermia is uncertain because many males lack symptoms associated with the bacterial infection of the reproductive tract. The data on the influence of urogenital tract infections of fertility are contradictory. In many cases opportunistic microorganisms cause such classical infections of the urogenital tract as epididymitis and prostatitis, as well as subclinical reproductive tract infections. Some possible pathophysiological mechanisms of the development of infertility linked with infection of the ejaculate are considered: its direct effect on the fertile properties of the seminal fluid due to a decrease in the number of spermatozoa, the suppression of their motility, changes in their morphology and fertilizing capacity, its indirect influence due to the inhibition of spermatogenesis resulting from testicular damage, autoimmune processes induced by inflammation, secretory dysfunction of the male accessory sex glands as a consequence of the infection of the reproductive tract organs, leukocytospermia with its secondary influence of the ejaculate parameters, etc. The importance of the pathogenic properties of microorganisms for the localization of the inflammatory process in the urogenital tract of males and their role in the pathogenesis of male infertility are discussed.

RESUMEN

The effect of androgenic preparations on the urogenital tract microflora in males of the reproductive age with chronic prostatitis has been studied. As the result of the use of androgens, the normalization of the microflora of ejaculate has been noted, which is characterized by the restoration of normal microflora (corynebacteria and lactic bacteria), a decrease in the content, or elimination, of opportunistic microorganisms and the inhibition of their persistence potential. The method for the correction of the dysbiosis of the male urogenital tract is proposed.

RESUMEN

The species composition and the complex of biological characteristics of microflora in the front section of urethra in healthy males and in patients with chronic nonspecific urethritis. The study revealed that in patients with chronic nonspecific nongonococcal urethritis changes in the microbiocenosis of the urethra were observed. These changes were manifested by a decrease in the number of species, the appearance of Grain-negative enterobacterial flora and an increase in the persistence potential of symbiotic bacteria. These disturbances are regarded as the manifestation of urogenital dysbiosis.

RESUMEN

The influence of hyperthermia induced by radiowaves on the microflora of the prostate in cases of male sterility was studied. The use of hyperthermia was shown to produce a stable decrease in bacteriospermia and the persistence potential of bacteria isolated from sperm. Hyperthermia produced a bactericidal effect not only on microorganisms contained in sperm but also on the microflora of prostatic tissues 1 cm deep. The study gave grounds for treating male sterility with the use of hyperthermia induced by radiowaves and a subsequent course of antibiotics to achieve the stable decrease of bacteriospermia and the restoration of the reproductive function.

RESUMEN

The influence of sex steroid hormones on the antilysozyme activity and growth characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus was studied. The study revealed that in the process of the cultivation of S. aureus in the presence of the hormones the antilysozyme of these bacteria became lower and the degree of heterogeneity of the population with regard to the sign under study decreased. The nonuniform influence of the hormones on the growth characteristic of staphylococci was registered. The data obtained in this study may be used for explanation of mechanisms of the formation of the microbiocenosis of the reproductive system.

RESUMEN

The efficacy of transurethral radiowave hyperthermia (TRH) provided by Thermex-2 unit (Dyrex Systems Ltd, Israel) was studied in combined treatment of patients with chronic prostatitis complicated by asthenozoospermia (patent of RF N 2111773). The treatment reduced intensity of bacteriospermia, improved functional activity of spermatozoa as a result of attenuation of the opportunistic microflora. Mechanisms of action of TRH in therapy of chronic prostatitis are discussed.

RESUMEN

Achieving a very strong magnetic anisotropy in a 3d material is a difficult, but not an impossible task. It is difficult because there is no general recipe (necessary condition) for a strong anisotropy in a band magnet. Several strategies can be pursued in this situation. One of them is to re-examine the less studied 3d compounds, somewhat neglected since the discovery of the Nd-Fe-B magnets 30 years ago. As an example, a single crystal of (Fe0.7Co0.3)2B has been investigated in this work.

RESUMEN

Analysis of available experimental data shows that there exists a limited variety of shapes of temperature dependence of spontaneous magnetization. For most metallic ferromagnets the shape (as opposed to scale) of the M(s) versus T curve can be characterized by a single dimensionless parameter. A numerical description of the dependence M(s)(T) for a particular ferromagnetic material is thus reduced to evaluating three quantities: the saturation magnetization M(0) identical with M(s)(0), the Curie point T(C), and the shape parameter s. It is demonstrated that classical spin (S = infinity) dynamics fails to describe correctly either of the finite-temperature characteristics, T(C) or s.

RESUMEN

Spermal samples of 60 men were examined, 40 of these men suffering from sterility. A significant reduction of the share of mobile spermatozoa in sterile patients was parallelled by a reduced spermal lysozyme level, as against that in healthy controls. In other words, a relationship between spermal lysozyme level and spermatozoa mobility was revealed. The detected regular reduction of spermal lysozyme level permits using this parameter as a diagnostic test.

RESUMEN

The paper presents the results of the study of species composition and biological signs of microflora of the ejaculate obtained from infertile males. The strains of the microorganisms were characterized by high adhesive capacity and multiple resistance to antibiotics. High antilysozyme activity in staphylococci and enterobacteria isolated from the sterile patients was registered. The correlation between spermatozoa motility, lysozyme level in the ejaculate and bacterial ability to inactivate lysozyme is demonstrated the hypothesis about the role of persistent properties of bacteria in pathogenesis of male infertility is discussed.
