RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To explore the feasibility of the Internet + nursing service mode in family rehabilitation of elderly patients with osteoarthritic diseases. PATIENTS AND METHODS: The control group (n=50) received routine rehabilitation treatment procedures and discharge guidance. For the observation group (n=50), extended nursing rehabilitation service was conducted through the Internet + nursing service platform based on the routine treatment in the control group. RESULTS: (1) The compliance with follow-up of the patients in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group; (2) The total satisfaction of patients in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group; (3) The VAS (1 month: 4.36±1.15 vs. 5.86±1.61, p<0.05; 3 months 4.36±1.15 vs. 5.86±1.61, p<0.05), SAS (1 month: 37.21±14.16 vs. 49.31±13.45, p<0.05; 3 months 26.73±8.25 vs. 40.33±9.50, p<0.05), SDS (1 month: 32.36±10.15 vs. 46.32±12.61, p<0.05; 3 months 27.11±8.08 vs. 40.62±11.40, p<0.05) and PSQI (1 month: 13.64 ± 1.13 vs. 16.31 ± 3.45, p<0.05; 3 months 11.54 ± 1.87 vs. 15.74 ± 1.36, p<0.05) scores in the observational group were significantly lower than that in control group at one month and three months after discharge. The ADL (1 month: 86.86 ± 4.13 vs. 74.33 ± 3.44, p<0.05; 3 months 90.34 ± 7.87 vs. 78.52 ± 6.36, p<0.05) scores in the observational group were significantly higher than that in control group at one month and three months after discharge. CONCLUSIONS: The extended rehabilitation nursing management for family rehabilitation of elderly patients with osteoarthritic diseases through the Internet + nursing service is a family rehabilitation model suitable for elderly patients with osteoarthritic diseases in China and has positive significance in developing a diversified medical nursing model.

RESUMEN

The stereoacuity threshold (ST) was measured in 124 cases of correctable ametropia, comprising 100 cases of myopia (-0.75 to -13.00D) and 24 cases of hyperopia (+0.87 to +5.00D). The mean ST in myopia without and with correction was 97.73" and 8.25" respectively and in hyperopia without and with correction was 21.37" and 9.74" respectively, both differing significantly from the value of 5.15" in normal eyes. The results indicated that the ametropia could have affected ST through reduced visual acuity and possibly other factors.

RESUMEN

The distance to the limbus and breadth of the insertions of the horizontal recti were measured in 857 strabismic patients during operation. The average distance and breadth of MR were 4.99 mm and 10.02 mm, and those of the LR were 6.48 mm and 9.47 mm respectively. The insertion of MR in esotropia (4.87 mm) was nearer to the limbus than that in exotropia (5.39 mm) (P less than 0.01). The insertion of LR in esotropia (6.66 mm) was further from the limbus than that in exotropia (6.43 mm) (P less than 0.01). The relationships between the horizontal recti insertion and the degree of deviation and the refraction of the deviating eye were discussed. It was inferred that the position of the insertion could play a role in the etiology of strabismus.

RESUMEN

In 51 patients (102 eyes) after strabismus operation, the incidence of corneal dellen was 22.54%. The average preoperative tearfilm breakup time was 28.75 sec, while the postoperative BUT in the dellen formation group was markedly reduced from the average 23.22 sec to 8.61 sec. The incidence of dellen after rectus resection (47.75%) was much higher than that after rectus recession (5.13%). It was believed that elevation of the bulbar conjunctiva after operation disturbed stability of the precorneal tearfilm to result in reduced BUT and local desiccation of the cornea, leading to dellen formation.

RESUMEN

The stereoacuity (SA) was measured by means of the Titmus test, Random Dot E stereotest and Yan's stereoscopic test charts in 90 cases of glaucoma or retinitis pigmentosa with visual field contraction and 28 normal subjects. Significant reduction in SA was observed in all patients with contracted visual field, and markedly so (> 130") in cases with bilateral or unilateral tubular vision. The SA was reduced with visual field loss of over 30% and there was a positive correlation between the SA reduction and the area of visual field loss.
