We describe an 83-year-old man with diffuse tracheobronchial amyloidosis presenting with pneumonia, against a background of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The condition continued with intermittent episodes of obstruction for 2 years after diagnosis and the patient died after upper digestive tract hemorrhage. Monoclonally was never demonstrated.

Pulmonary dirofilariasis mimicking lung cancer.

We describe the case of a 30-year-old asymptomatic farmer who underwent a pulmonary segmentectomy due to the casual finding of a pulmonary nodule in preoperative chest radiography. As bronchoscopic samples rule out mycobacterium infection and malignancy, surgery could have been avoided with the use of serological tests and radiographic follow-up based on epidemiology of dirofilariasis in our country.

[Recurrent rectorrhagia caused by angiodysplasia of the colon localized exclusively by scintigraphy with Tc-99m red blood cells]. / Rectorragia recidivante por angiodisplasia de colon, localizada exclusivamente mediante gammagrafía con 99mTc-hematíes.

A case of angiodysplasia of the colon with clinical manifestation of massive rectal bleeding is presented. The activity and the severity of the life-threatening bleeding episode led to emergency exploratory laparotomy with intraoperative colonoscopy which was not diagnostic. Three years later, following multiple recurrent bleeding episodes and non diagnostic explorations, the localization of the hemorrhage was obtained by abdominal scintigraphy with 99mTc-red blood cells. Surgical removal of the affected area achieved definitive cure.

The case of a young man with an aneurysm of the renal artery, causing vasculorenal hypertension, and surgically treated, is presented. The present concepts of incidence, etiology, renal aneurysm-hypertension association, surgical indications and rupture risk, are exposed.

A case of glomus tumor of the stomach occurring in a patient of 59 year old founded during a cholecystectomy is described. Clinicopathological and immunohistochemical findings are commented.

[Interactions of lysozyme with Pb(II) using viscosimetry and dilatometry of the equilibrium of dialysis]. / Interacciones de la lisozima con el Pb(II) por viscosimetría y dilatometría de equilibrio de diálisis.

The conformational hen white egg lysozyme in the binary mixture water/Pb2+ as a function of the binary mixture composition has been studied. Intrinsic viscosity, partial specific volume and preferential adsorption parameter in the 0-0.100 M Pb2+ concentration range has been experimentally measured. The obtained results suggest that the observed conformational transition is a consequence of the interactions established between lysozyme and Pb2+ cation.
