RESUMEN
Coronary artery calcification quantification (scoring) has been done with electron beam CT (EBCT), but is now being done with spiral or helical CT. Many radiologists and cardiologists who do not have EBCT but do have access to spiral CT will now be able to do coronary artery calcification scoring, and will now need to know the spiral CT appearance of the coronary artery anatomy. This pictorial review will demonstrate the anatomy needed for coronary artery calcium scoring.

Extradural lymphoma can present as an acute neurosurgical emergency. The clinical presentation and radiological appearance may suggest epidural hematoma or meningioma. Lymphoma should be considered as a rare but possible diagnosis before operation. High resolution computed tomography using direct coronal imaging with and without contrast enhancement may aid in suggesting the correct preoperative diagnosis.

We report a case in which a cervical teratoma was diagnosed antenatally in the mid third trimester. In anticipation of potential upper airway obstruction, resources were mobilized to the operating room at the time of the planned cesarean section. The neonate was unable to breathe, but his airway was secured without delay. There was no evidence of cerebral anoxia initially or at one year follow-up. As prenatal diagnosis by ultrasound becomes more refined, the otolaryngologist will play an increasing role in perinatal decision making and anticipated emergencies at the time of delivery. Airway obstruction of various causes will be the most urgent problem.

Inserting distal screws freehand is a difficult but necessary part of many intramedullary roddings. In the June 1992 issue of Orthopaedic Review, Edward Yang described an excellent protocol for performing this part of the procedure. Here, we describe more tips to make it easier and to prevent or correct problems.
