RESUMEN

Menopause is a physiological phase of life of aging women, and more than 1 billion women worldwide will be in menopause by 2025. The processes of global senescence parallel stages of reproductive aging and occur alongside aging-related changes in the body. Alterations in the endocrine pathways accompany and often predate the physiologic changes of aging, and interactions of these processes are increasingly being recognized as contributory to the progression of senescence. Our goal for this review is to examine, in aging women, the complex interplay between the endocrinology of menopause transition and post-menopause, and the metabolic transition, the hallmark being an increasing tendency towards central adiposity that begins in tandem with reproductive aging and is often exacerbated post menopause. For the purpose of this review, our choice of the terms 'female' and 'woman' refer to genetic females.

RESUMEN

Countries that are striving to keep pace with emerging technologies in surgical practices and still not able to cope with exemplary international standards are in dire need of resources to build and strengthen their healthcare system. This review focusses on the impeding factors that hinder in adaptation of advanced technology and machinery in the health care industry. Considering the immense potential for current surgical technologies to transform the delivery of healthcare, their implementation in LMICs confronts considerable challenges due to lack of infrastructure, human capital and inadequate resources. To address these difficulties, various entities, including healthcare institutions, government and non-governmental organisations, and foreign partners, must work together. Building capacity through intended education and training initiatives, building infrastructure, and collaborative partnerships are critical for overcoming hurdles to effective deployment of surgical technology in low-income communities of the world.

RESUMEN

Among respiratory problems, asthma is one of the most apidly growing disorder which has victimised about onethird of the world's population and almost 2.5 million patients die annually as a result of severe exacerbation. Asthmatic patients most of the time fail to receive maximum benefits from the therapy because of drugrelated problems, side effects of steroid medication and special skill required for the administration technique of drug inhalation. The current review was planned to highlight the most frequent problems of asthmatic patients and their possible management suggested during the last few years. The greatest challenge is to ensure adherence to medication along with appropriate inhalation technique among asthmatic Patients Proper selection of drug and Device. According to Global Initiative for Asthma Guidelines 2017, proper counselling, training sessions, dosage calendars, patient reminders and evaluation of inhalation technique are found to be very helpful in improving the quality of life of patients.

RESUMEN

Vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID) are a growing threat to public health without any known treatment. The bilateral common carotid artery stenosis (BCAS) mouse model is valid for VCID. Previously, we have reported that remote ischemic postconditioning (RIPostC) during chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH) induced by BCAS increases cerebral blood flow (CBF), improves cognitive function, and reduces white matter damage. We hypothesized that physical exercise (EXR) would augment CBF during CCH and prevent cognitive impairment in the BCAS model. BCAS was performed in C57/B6 mice of both sexes to establish CCH. One week after the BCAS surgery, mice were randomized to treadmill exercise once daily or no EXR for four weeks. CBF was monitored with an LSCI pre-, post, and 4 weeks post-BCAS. Cognitive testing was performed for post-BCAS after exercise training, and brain tissue was harvested for histopathology and biochemical test. BCAS led to chronic hypoperfusion resulting in impaired cognitive function and other functional outcomes. Histological examination revealed that BCAS caused changes in neuronal morphology and cell death in the cortex and hippocampus. Immunoblotting showed that BCAS was associated with a significant downregulate of AMPK and pAMPK and NOS3 and pNOS3. BCAS also decreased red blood cell (RBC) deformability. EXR therapy increased and sustained improved CBF and cognitive function, muscular strength, reduced cell death, and loss of white matter. EXR is effective in the BCAS model, improving CBF and cognitive function, reducing white matter damage, improving RBC deformability, and increasing RBC NOS3 and AMPK. The mechanisms by which EXR improves CBF and attenuates tissue damage need further investigation.

RESUMEN

This paper pioneers the exploration of ocular cancer, and its management with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Existing literature presents a significant increase in new eye cancer cases in 2023, experiencing a higher incidence rate. Extensive research was conducted using online databases such as PubMed, ACM Digital Library, ScienceDirect, and Springer. To conduct this review, Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines are used. Of the collected 62 studies, only 20 documents met the inclusion criteria. The review study identifies seven ocular cancer types. Important challenges associated with ocular cancer are highlighted, including limited awareness about eye cancer, restricted healthcare access, financial barriers, and insufficient infrastructure support. Financial barriers is one of the widely examined ocular cancer challenges in the literature. The potential role and limitations of ChatGPT are discussed, emphasizing its usefulness in providing general information to physicians, noting its inability to deliver up-to-date information. The paper concludes by presenting the potential future applications of ChatGPT to advance research on ocular cancer globally.
