[Angiographic and endoscopic diagnosis of pancreatic cancer]. / Angiograficheskaia i éndoskopicheskaia diagnostika raka podzheludochnoi zhelezy.

The report discusses the results of 60 angiographic and 25 angioscintigraphic examinations of the pancreas, 129 endoscopic retrograde pancreatocholangiographic examinations and 226 standard and combined laparoscopies carried out in 276 cases of diseases of the pancreas and extrahepatic biliary ducts. Pancreatic cancer was identified in 119 cases. Angiographic and angioscintigraphic examination established the correct diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma in 85.2% of patients, endoscopic retrograde pancreatocholangiography--93.9%, and complex examination (angiography, endoscopic retrograde pancreatocholangiography and laparoscopy) in 98.7%.

[Diagnosis and surgical treatment of obstructive jaundice in benign diseases]. / Diagnostika i khirurgicheskoe lechenie obturatsionnoi zheltukhi pri dobrokachestvennykh zabolevaniiakh.

The article analyses the results of the diagnosis and surgical treatment of obstructive jaundice caused by benign diseases in 279 patients. Cholelithiasis was the cause of obstructive jaundice in 82.4% of patients; in 30.3% of cases the clinical symptomatology of the disease was atypical due to which the patients were at first placed erroneously in hospitals for infectious diseases. Endoscopic methods of examination proved to be most informative: the informativeness of ERP was 91%, that of combined laparoscopy--98.5%. Choledochoduodenostomy is the operation of choice in choledocholithiasis, and double drainage after O.B. Milonov--in combination of obstructive choledocholithiasis with papillostenosis.

[Pancreatoduodenal resection in cancer of the head of the pancreas]. / Pankreatoduodenal'naia rezektsiia pri rake golovki podzheludochnoi zhelezy.

The nearest results of surgical treatment of 375 patients with carcinoma of the pancreatic head and of 104 patients with cancer of other organs of the pancreatoduodenal area are described. Radical operations were made on 62 of them. Resectability was 16.5%, lethality--9.7%, postoperative complications were noted in 35.5% of the patients.
