MOTIVATION: Wikipedia is a vital open educational resource in computational biology. The quality of computational biology coverage in English-language Wikipedia has improved steadily in recent years. However, there is an increasingly large 'knowledge gap' between computational biology resources in English-language Wikipedia, and Wikipedias in non-English languages. Reducing this knowledge gap by providing educational resources in non-English languages would reduce language barriers which disadvantage non-native English speaking learners across multiple dimensions in computational biology. RESULTS: Here, we provide a comprehensive assessment of computational biology coverage in Spanish-language Wikipedia, the second most accessed Wikipedia worldwide. Using Spanish-language Wikipedia as a case study, we generate quantitative and qualitative data before and after a targeted educational event, specifically, a Spanish-focused student editing competition. Our data demonstrates how such events and activities can narrow the knowledge gap between English and non-English educational resources, by improving existing articles and creating new articles. Finally, based on our analysis, we suggest ways to prioritize future initiatives to improve open educational resources in other languages. BACKGROUND & AIMS: Biliary complications are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in liver transplantation. Up to 25% of patients that develop biliary complications require additional surgical procedures, re-transplantation or die in the absence of a suitable regraft. Here, we investigate the role of the primary cilium, a highly-specialised sensory organelle, in biliary injury leading to post-transplant biliary complications. METHODS: Human biopsies were used to study the structure and function of primary cilia in liver transplant recipients that develop biliary complications (N=7) in comparison with recipients without biliary complications (N=12). To study the biological effects of the primary cilia during transplantation, we generated murine models that recapitulate liver procurement and cold storage, and assessed the elimination of the primary cilia in biliary epithelial cells in the K19CreERTKif3aflox/flox mouse model. To explore the molecular mechanisms responsible for the observed phenotypes we used in vitro models of ischemia, cellular senescence and primary cilia ablation. Finally, we used pharmacological and genetic approaches to target cellular senescence and the primary cilia, both in mouse models and discarded human donor livers. RESULTS: Prolonged ischemic periods before transplantation result in ciliary shortening and cellular senescence, an irreversible cell cycle arrest that blocks regeneration. Our results indicate that primary cilia damage results in biliary injury and a loss of regenerative potential. Senescence negatively impacts primary cilia structure and triggers a negative feedback loop that further impairs regeneration. Finally, we explore how targeted interventions for cellular senescence and/or the stabilisation of the primary cilia improve biliary regeneration following ischemic injury. CONCLUSIONS: Primary cilia play an essential role in biliary regeneration and we demonstrate that senolytics and cilia-stabilising treatments provide a potential therapeutic opportunity to reduce the rate of biliary complications and improve clinical outcomes in liver transplantation. IMPACT AND IMPLICATIONS: Up to 25% of liver transplants result in biliary complications, leading to additional surgery, retransplants, or death. We found that the incidence of biliary complications is increased by damage to the primary cilium, an antenna that protrudes from the cell and is key to regeneration. Here, we show that treatments that preserve the primary cilia during the transplant process provide a potential solution to reduce the rates of biliary complications.

To achieve insights in antiviral immune defense of the central nervous system (CNS), we investigated T cells and CD45 cells in the marine fish model Dicentrarchus labrax infected with the CNS-tropic virus betanodavirus. By employing markers for pan-T cells (mAb DLT15) and CD45-cells (mAb DLT22) in immunofluorescence (IIF) of leukocytes from brain, we obtained 3,7 ± 2.3 % of T cells and 7.3 ± 3.2 % of CD45+ cells. Both IIF and immunoelectron microscopy confirmed a leukocyte/glial morphology for the immunoreactive cells. Quantitative immunohistochemistry (qIHC) of brain/eye sections showed 1.9 ± 0.8 % of T+ cells and 2 ± 0.9 % of CD45+ cells in the brain, and 3.6 ± 1.9 % and 4.1 ± 2.2 % in the eye, respectively. After in vivo RGNNV infection the number of T cells/CD45+ leukocytes in the brain increased to 8.3 ± 2.1 % and 11.6 ± 4.4 % (by IIF), and 26.1 ± 3.4 % and 45.6 ± 5.9 % (by qIHC), respectively. In the eye we counted after infection 8.5 ± 4.4 % of T cells and 10.2 ± 5.8 % of CD45 cells. Gene transcription analysis of brain mRNA revealed a strong increase of gene transcripts coding for: antiviral proteins Mx and ISG-12; T-cell related CD3ε/δ, TcRß, CD4, CD8α, CD45; and for immuno-modulatory cytokines TNFα, IL-2, IL-10. A RAG-1 gene product was also present and upregulated, suggesting somatic recombination in the fish brain. Similar transcription data were obtained in the eye, albeit with differences. Our findings provide first evidence for a recruitment and involvement of T cells and CD45+ leukocytes in the fish eye-brain axis during antiviral responses and suggest similarities in the CNS immune defense across evolutionary distant vertebrates.

The activity of neuron populations gives rise to field potentials (FPs) that extend beyond the sources. Their mixing in the volume dilutes the original temporal motifs in a site-dependent manner, a fact that has received little attention. And yet, it potentially rids of physiological significance the time-frequency parameters of individual waves (amplitude, phase, duration). This is most likely to happen when a single source or a local origin is erroneously assumed. Recent studies using spatial treatment of these signals and anatomically realistic modeling of neuron aggregates provide convincing evidence for the multisource origin and site-dependent blend of FPs. Thus, FPs generated in primary structures like the neocortex and hippocampus reach far and cross-contaminate each other but also, they add and even impose their temporal traits on distant regions. Furthermore, both structures house neurons that act as spatially distinct (but overlapped) FP sources whose activation is state, region, and time dependent, making the composition of so-called local FPs highly volatile and strongly site dependent. Since the spatial reach cannot be predicted without source geometry, it is important to assess whether waveforms and temporal motifs arise from a single source; otherwise, those from each of the co-active sources should be sought.

High-throughput genotyping of large numbers of lines remains a key challenge in plant genetics, requiring geneticists and breeders to find a balance between data quality and the number of genotyped lines under a variety of different existing genotyping technologies when resources are limited. In this work, we are proposing a new imputation pipeline ("HBimpute") that can be used to generate high-quality genomic data from low read-depth whole-genome-sequence data. The key idea of the pipeline is the use of haplotype blocks from the software HaploBlocker to identify locally similar lines and subsequently use the reads of all locally similar lines in the variant calling for a specific line. The effectiveness of the pipeline is showcased on a dataset of 321 doubled haploid lines of a European maize landrace, which were sequenced at 0.5X read-depth. The overall imputing error rates are cut in half compared to state-of-the-art software like BEAGLE and STITCH, while the average read-depth is increased to 83X, thus enabling the calling of copy number variation. The usefulness of the obtained imputed data panel is further evaluated by comparing the performance of sequence data in common breeding applications to that of genomic data generated with a genotyping array. For both genome-wide association studies and genomic prediction, results are on par or even slightly better than results obtained with high-density array data (600k). In particular for genomic prediction, we observe slightly higher data quality for the sequence data compared to the 600k array in the form of higher prediction accuracies. This occurred specifically when reducing the data panel to the set of overlapping markers between sequence and array, indicating that sequencing data can benefit from the same marker ascertainment as used in the array process to increase the quality and usability of genomic data.

Background and Objectives: To better understand patients' and neurologists' assessments of their experiences regarding effectiveness of teleneurology encounters. Methods: Following an audio-video telehealth visit, neurologists asked patients to participate in a survey-based research study about the encounter, and then, the neurologists also recorded their own evaluations. Data were analyzed using standard quantitative and qualitative techniques for dichotomous and ordered-category survey responses in this cross-sectional analysis. Results: The study included unique encounters between 187 patients and 11 general neurologists. The mean patient age was 49 ± 17.5 years. Two thirds of the patients (66.8%, 125/187) were female. One third (33.2%; 62) were patients new to the NYU Langone Health neurology practices. The most common patient chief complaints were headache (69/187, 36.9%), focal and generalized numbness or tingling (21, 11.2%), memory difficulty (15, 8%), spine-related symptoms (12, 6.4%), and vertigo (11, 5.9%). Most patients (94.7%, 177/187) reported that the teleneurology encounter satisfied their needs. Patients and their neurologists agreed that the experience was effective in 91% (162/178) of encounters, regardless of whether the visit was for a new or established patient visit. Discussion: More than 90% of new and established patients and their neurologists agreed that teleneurology encounters were effective despite some limitations of the examination, the occasional need for patient assistance, and technical difficulties. Our results provide further evidence to justify and to expand the clinical use of teleneurology.

The gut epithelium is a polarized monolayer that exhibits apical and basolateral membrane surfaces. Monolayer cell components are joined side by side via protein complexes known as tight junction proteins (TJPs), expressed at the most apical extreme of the basolateral membrane. The gut epithelium is a physical barrier that determinates intestinal permeability, referred to as the measurement of the transit of molecules from the intestinal lumen to the bloodstream or, conversely, from the blood to the gut lumen. TJPs play a role in the control of intestinal permeability that can be disrupted by stress through signal pathways triggered by the ligation of receptors with stress hormones like glucocorticoids. Preclinical studies conducted under in vitro and/or in vivo conditions have addressed underlying mechanisms that account for the impact of stress on gut permeability. These mechanisms may provide insights for novel therapeutic interventions in diseases in which stress is a risk factor, like irritable bowel syndrome. The focus of this study was to review, in an integrative context, the neuroendocrine effects of stress, with special emphasis on TJPs along with intestinal permeability.

OBJECTIVE: Endoluminal flow diversion reduces blood flow into intracranial aneurysms, promoting thrombosis. Postprocedural dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is necessary for the prevention of thromboembolic complications. The purpose of this study is to therefore assess the impact that the type and duration of DAPT has on aneurysm occlusion rates and iatrogenic complications after flow diversion. METHODS: A retrospective review of a multicenter aneurysm database was performed from 2012 to 2020 to identify unruptured intracranial aneurysms treated with single device flow diversion and ≥12-month follow-up. Clinical and radiologic data were analyzed with aneurysm occlusion as a function of DAPT duration serving as a primary outcome measure. RESULTS: Two hundred five patients underwent flow diversion with a single pipeline embolization device with 12.7% of treated aneurysms remaining nonoccluded during the study period. There were no significant differences in aneurysm morphology or type of DAPT used between occluded and nonoccluded groups. Nonoccluded aneurysms received a longer mean duration of DAPT (9.4 vs 7.1 months, P = 0.016) with a significant effect of DAPT duration on the observed aneurysm occlusion rate (F(2, 202) = 4.2, P = 0.016). There was no significant difference in the rate of complications, including delayed ischemic strokes, observed between patients receiving short (≤6 months) and prolonged duration (>6 months) DAPT (7.9% vs 9.3%, P = 0.76). CONCLUSIONS: After flow diversion, an abbreviated duration of DAPT lasting 6 months may be most appropriate before transitioning to low-dose aspirin monotherapy to promote timely aneurysm occlusion while minimizing thromboembolic complications.

To explore the existing literature on the effect of Interprofessional Education (IPE) on the work environment of health professionals. The research question was systematized according to the PCC (Population, Concept, and Context) format. A scoping review was performed. A search of multiple bibliographic databases identified 407 papers, of which 21 met the inclusion criteria. The populations of the 21 studies reviewed were composed of professionals in the fields of medicine, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and social work, among others. The study contexts were both academic and nonacademic hospitals, mental health institutions, and community settings, and the topics examined were organizational climate, organizational culture, organizational attachment and job satisfaction. The findings from the reviewed studies showed positive effects of IPE interventions on organizational climate and culture, but the results on job satisfaction and organizational attachment were mixed (i.e., positive and no effects following IPE interventions). Research on IPE is worth more attention as IPE could be an effective alternative for the fulfillment of the Quadruple Aim and achieving the third of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aimed at improving health and well-being. It seems critical for IPE to be positioned as a trend in global health, aiming at boosting human health resources as one of its building blocks and calling the attention of health decision-makers.

INTRODUCTION: Within advances in minimally invasive spine surgery, the implementation of lateral single position (LSP) increases efficiency while limiting complications, avoiding intraoperative repositioning and diminishing surgical time. Most literature describes one-level instrumentation of the lumbar spine; this study includes the use of LSP for multilevel degenerative disease. OBJECTIVE: The objective of the article is to analyze initial clinical results and complications in the use of LSP for multiple level instrumentation in adults with lumbar degenerative disease. METHODS: A retrospective early clinical series was performed for patients who had multiple level instrumentation in LSP between August 2019 and September 2022 at the Hospital Universitario San Ignacio in Bogota, Colombia. Inclusion criteria were patients older than 18 years with symptomatic lumbar degenerative disease, undergoing any combination of multilevel anterior lumbar interbody fusion, lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) and pedicle screw fixation. RESULTS: Forty patients with an average age of 61.3 years were included, with diagnosis of multilevel degenerative spondylotic changes. Four-, three- and two-level interventions were performed in 52.5, 35 and 12.5%, respectively. Average time per level was 68.9 min, and length of hospital stay had an average of 2.4 days, with all patients starting ambulation within the first postoperative day. CONCLUSION: Procedural time and blood loss were similar to those reported in literature. No severe lesions, postoperative infections or reinterventions took place. Although it was a small number of patients and further clinical trials are needed, LSP for multiple levels is apparently safe with adequate outcomes which may improve efficiency in the operating room.

Background and Objectives: To better understand neurologists' assessments of the experiences and effectiveness of teleneurology encounters. Methods: After completing an audio-video telehealth visit with verbally consenting patients, neurologists recorded their evaluations of the encounter. Data were analyzed using standard quantitative and qualitative techniques. Results: The study included unique encounters between 187 patients and 11 neurologists. The mean patient age was 49 ± 17.5 years. Two thirds of patients (66.8%, 125/187) were female. One third of patients (33.2%; 62) were new patients. The most common patient complaints were headache (69/187, 36.9%), focal and generalized numbness or tingling (21, 11.2%), memory difficulty (15, 8%), spine-related symptoms (12, 6.4%), and vertigo (11, 5.9%). Neurologists reported that they completed a virtual examination that provided enough information for medical decision-making in 94.9% of encounters (169/178, 9 missing responses). Fourteen of 25 examination elements important for medical decision-making could be performed sufficiently during virtual encounters. Examination assistance was needed for 16.4% (30/183) of patients, who were, on average, 17.3 years older than those who did not require assistance (62.9 years vs. 45.6 years, p = 0.0002). In 19.1% (34/178) of encounters, neurologists learned clinically relevant information from seeing patients in their homes. Neurologists' assessments of the effectiveness of encounters were not related to the presence (97.2%, 35/36 effective) or absence (95%, 134/141 effective) of technical difficulties (p = 0.5729) in 177 encounters (10 missing responses). Discussion: Neurologists reported that nearly 95% of teleneurology encounters were effective despite limitations of the virtual examination, occasional need for patient assistance, and technical difficulties.

Skeletal muscle is responsible for the majority of glucose disposal following meals, and this is achieved by insulin-mediated trafficking of glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4) to the cell membrane. The eight-protein exocyst trafficking complex facilitates targeted docking of membrane-bound vesicles, a process underlying the regulated delivery of fuel transporters. We previously demonstrated the role of exocyst subunit EXOC5 in insulin-stimulated GLUT4 exocytosis and glucose uptake in cultured rat skeletal myoblasts. However, the in vivo role of EXOC5 in skeletal muscle remains unclear. Using mice with inducible, skeletal-muscle-specific knockout of exocyst subunit EXOC5 (Exoc5-SMKO), we examined how muscle-specific disruption of the exocyst would affect glucose homeostasis in vivo. We found that both male and female Exoc5-SMKO mice displayed elevated fasting glucose levels. Additionally, male Exoc5-SMKO mice had impaired glucose tolerance and lower serum insulin levels. Using indirect calorimetry, we observed that male Exoc5-SMKO mice have a reduced respiratory exchange ratio during the light period and lower energy expenditure. Using the hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp method, we further showed that insulin-stimulated skeletal muscle glucose uptake is reduced in Exoc5-SMKO males compared with wild-type controls. Overall, our findings indicate that EXOC5 and the exocyst are necessary for insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in skeletal muscle and regulate glucose homeostasis in vivo.

Methamphetamine (MA) abuse remains a public health issue. Prenatal MA exposure (PME) poses a significant health problem, as we know very little about the drug's long-term physiological impact on the developing human brain. We investigated the long-term consequences of early MA exposure using a mouse model that targets the brain growth spurt, which occurs during human third-trimester. Adult mice previously subjected to acute MA during post-natal days 4-9 exhibited hyperactivity during the Open-Field Test, while exhibiting no motor coordination changes during the Rotarod Test. Neonatal MA exposure reduced basal dopamine (DA) uptake rates in adult nucleus accumbens slices compared with saline-injected controls. Although slices from neonatal MA-exposed mice showed no change in evoked DA signals in the presence of MA, they exhibited potentiated non-evoked DA release through DA efflux in response to MA. These data suggest that developmental MA exposure alters brain development to produce long-lasting physiological changes to the adult mesolimbic DA system, as well as altering responses to acute MA exposure in adulthood. This study provides new insights into an important, under-investigated area in drugs of abuse research.

ABSTRACT: This article presents the telehealth version of the Buffalo Concussion Physical Examination (BCPE) (Tele-BCPE). It is a brief, focused telehealth PE for use in the outpatient setting by sports medicine physicians, pediatricians, neurologists, and primary care physicians. It is derived from the BCPE and includes general considerations for providers performing telehealth services and instructions for adapting traditional clinical tests for virtual use. The Tele-BCPE includes an orthostatic intolerance screen, examination of the cranial nerves, and tests of the oculomotor, vestibular, and cervical systems. It is meant to be used at initial and follow-up outpatient visits for patients acutely after concussion and in those with prolonged symptoms. This telehealth PE, when combined with other assessments, can help provide direct treatment to patients at any stage after concussion and reduce barriers to healthcare access posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and for patients living in rural or underserved areas.

A good approximation to power amplifier (PA) behavioral modeling requires precise baseband models to mitigate nonlinearities. Since digital predistortion (DPD) is used to provide the PA linearization, a framework is necessary to validate the modeling figures of merit support under signal conditioning and transmission restrictions. A field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based testbed is developed to measure the wide-band PA behavior using a single-carrier 64-quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) multiplexed by orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) based on long-term evolution (LTE) as a stimulus, with different bandwidths signals. In the search to provide a heuristic target approach modeling, this paper introduces a feature extraction concept to find an appropriate complexity solution considering the high sparse data issue in amplitude to amplitude (AM-AM) and amplitude to phase AM-PM models extraction, whose penalties are associated with overfitting and hardware complexity in resulting functions. Thus, experimental results highlight the model performance for a high sparse data regime and are compared with a regression tree (RT), random forest (RF), and cubic-spline (CS) model accuracy capabilities for the signal conditioning to show a reliable validation, low-complexity, according to the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF), coefficients extraction, normalized mean square error (NMSE), and execution time figures of merit. The presented models provide a comparison with original data that aid to compare the dimension and robustness for each surrogate model where (i) machine learning (ML)-based and (ii) CS interpolate-based where high sparse data are present, NMSE between the CS interpolated based are also compared to demonstrate the efficacy in the prediction methods with lower convergence times and complexities.

RESUMEN

The ability of the body to maintain homeostasis requires constant communication between the brain and peripheral tissues. Different organs produce signals, often in the form of hormones, which are detected by the hypothalamus. In response, the hypothalamus alters its regulation of bodily processes, which is achieved through its own pathways of hormonal communication. The generation and transmission of the molecules involved in these bi-directional axes can be affected by redox balance. The essential trace element selenium is known to influence numerous physiological processes, including energy homeostasis, through its various redox functions. Selenium must be obtained through the diet and is used to synthesize selenoproteins, a family of proteins with mainly antioxidant functions. Alterations in selenium status have been correlated with homeostatic disturbances in humans and studies with animal models of selenoprotein dysfunction indicate a strong influence on energy balance. The relationship between selenium and energy metabolism is complicated, however, as selenium has been shown to participate in multiple levels of homeostatic communication. This review discusses the role of selenium in the various pathways of communication between the body and the brain that are essential for maintaining homeostasis.

RESUMEN

Cellular senescence is an irreversible cell cycle arrest implemented by the cell as a result of stressful insults. Characterized by phenotypic alterations, including secretome changes and genomic instability, senescence is capable of exerting both detrimental and beneficial processes. Accumulating evidence has shown that cellular senescence plays a relevant role in the occurrence and development of liver disease, as a mechanism to contain damage and promote regeneration, but also characterizing the onset and correlating with the extent of damage. The evidence of senescent mechanisms acting on the cell populations of the liver will be described including the role of markers to detect cellular senescence. Overall, this review intends to summarize the role of senescence in liver homeostasis, injury, disease, and regeneration.

In this work, two synthetic aurones revealed moderate schistosomicidal potential in in vitro and in vivo assays. Aurones (1) and (2) promoted changes in tegument integrity and motor activity, leading to death of adult Schistosoma mansoni worms in in vitro assays. When administered orally (two doses of 50 mg/kg) in experimentally infected animals, synthetic aurones (1) and (2) promoted reductions of 56.20 % and 57.61 % of the parasite load and stimulated the displacement towards the liver of the remaining adult worms. The oogram analysis revealed that the treatment with both aurones interferes with the egg development kinetics in the intestinal tissue. Seeking an action target for compounds (1) and (2), the connection with NTPDases enzymes, recognized as important therapeutic targets for S. mansoni, was evaluated. Molecular docking studies have shown promising results. The dataset reveals the anthelmintic character of these compounds, which can be used in the development of new therapies for schistosomiasis.

Due to seasonal ice cover, acoustics can provide a unique means for Arctic undersea communication, navigation, and remote sensing. This study seeks to quantify the annual cycle of the thermohaline structure in the Beaufort Sea and characterize acoustically relevant oceanographic processes such as eddies, internal waves, near-inertial waves (NIWs), and spice. The observations are from a seven-mooring, 150-km radius acoustic transceiver array equipped with oceanographic sensors that collected data in the Beaufort Sea from 2016 to 2017. Depth and time variations of the sound speed are analyzed using isopycnal displacements, allowing a separation of baroclinic processes and spice. Compared to lower latitudes, the overall sound speed variability is small with a maximum root mean square of 0.6 m/s. The largest source of variability is spice, most significant in the upper 100 m, followed by eddies and internal waves. The displacement spectrum in the internal wave band is time dependent and different from the Garret-Munk (GM) spectrum. The internal wave energy varied with time averaging 5% of the GM spectrum. The spice sound-speed frequency spectrum has a form very different from the displacement spectrum, a result not seen at lower latitudes. Because sound speed variations are weak, observations of episodic energetic NIWs with horizontal currents up to 20 cm/s have potential acoustical consequences.

Selenoproteins are a class of proteins with the selenium-containing amino acid selenocysteine (Sec) in their primary structure. Sec is incorporated into selenoproteins via recoding of the stop codon UGA, with specific cis and trans factors required during translation to avoid UGA recognition as a stop codon, including a Sec-specific tRNA, tRNA[Ser]Sec, encoded in mice by the gene Trsp. Whole-body deletion of Trsp in mouse is embryonically lethal, while targeted deletion of Trsp in mice has been used to understand the role of selenoproteins in the health and physiology of various tissues. We developed a mouse model with the targeted deletion of Trsp in brown adipocytes (Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre+/-), a cell type predominant in brown adipose tissue (BAT) controlling energy expenditure via activation of adaptive thermogenesis, mostly using uncoupling protein 1 (Ucp1). At room temperature, Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre+/- mice maintain oxygen consumption and Ucp1 expression, with male Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre+/- mice accumulating more triglycerides in BAT than both female Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre+/- mice or Trspf/f controls. Acute cold exposure neither reduced core body temperature nor changed the expression of selenoprotein iodothyronine deiodinase type II (Dio2), a marker of adaptive thermogenesis, in Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre+/- mice. Microarray analysis of BAT from Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre+/- mice revealed glutathione S-transferase alpha 3 (Gsta3) and ELMO domain containing 2 (Elmod2) as the transcripts most affected by the loss of Trsp. Male Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre+/- mice showed mild hypothyroidism while downregulating thyroid hormone-responsive genes Thrsp and Tshr in their BATs. In summary, modest changes in the BAT of Trspf/f-Ucp1-Cre +/- mice implicate a mild thyroid hormone dysfunction in brown adipocytes.
