RESUMEN

Venous aneurysms are uncommon in the vascular pathology of the lower limb. They are more commonly encountered in the neck, thoracic veins and visceral veins. Involvement of the popliteal veins is not often encountered. These aneurysms often cause thrombosis and subsequently pulmonary embolism. Phlebography and duplex scanning give the most accurate diagnosis. As the risk of associated pulmonary embolism is high, elective surgery is recommended since it has been proven that proper anticoagulation treatment does not prevent the risk of pulmonary embolism.

RESUMEN

Retroperitoneal liposarcomes are characterised by their tendency to recurrence, Eight cases are related, from which no one get out of this rule. Late diagnosis is due to their silent growth and poor symptomatology. Ancillary procedures, particularly computerised tomography, and histological examination, allow to confirm diagnosis. The main treatment is surgery, it must be as aggressive as possible, it allows to confirm histologically the nature of the tumor. Postoperative radiotherapy is helpful and chemotherapy can be associated, if it seems that complete excision has not been possible or if metastasis are detected. Histologically, these sarcomes seem to derive from a pluripotential mesenchymatous cell, it explains their polymorphic differentiation. A clinical prognosis, based on histology, seems to be illusive.

RESUMEN

We report the case of a patient who suffered major trauma following a motorcycle accident that resulted in multiple fractures, bilateral hemopneumothorax, pulmonary contusions, and an isthmic rupture of the aorta with a pseudoaneurysm compressing the descending aorta. This compression was responsible for distal hypotension and low flow, leading to acute renal insufficiency and massive rhabdomyolysis. Due to the critical clinical status of the patient, which prevented any type of open thoracic surgery, endovascular treatment was performed. An initial stent-graft permitted alleviation of the compression and the re-establishment of normal hemodynamic conditions, but its low position did not allow sufficient coverage of the rupture. A second stent-graft permitted total exclusion of the pseudoaneurysm while preserving the patency of the left subclavian artery.
