Vaccine hesitancy is one of the top 10 threats to global health, which affects the prevalence and fatality of vaccine-preventable diseases over the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people living with HIV (PLWH) may have higher risks of infection, more serious complications, and worse prognosis without the protection of the COVID-19 vaccine. A systematic review and meta-analysis aiming to evaluate the prevalence of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among PLWH was conducted using PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases for studies published between January 1, 2020, and August 31, 2022. The pooled prevalence with a corresponding 95%CI of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among PLWH was reported. Subgroup analysis was conducted to explore variation in prevalence across different categories. 23 studies with a total of 19,922 PLWH were included in this study. The prevalence of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among PLWH was 34.0%, and the influencing factors included male, influenza vaccination experience, and a CD4 count of more than 200 cells/mm3. Subgroup analysis did not identify significant causes of heterogeneity but showed that the prevalence of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among PLWH varies by study period, region, and race. Although all PLWH are recommended to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, a large proportion of them remain hesitant to be vaccinated. Therefore, governments and relevant institutions should take specific measures to encourage and promote vaccination to improve the coverage of the COVID-19 vaccine among PLWH.

RESUMEN

Communication is an integral component in palliative care. A number of studies have used conversation analysis (CA) to examine communication between healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients/companions in palliative care. To the best of our knowledge, however, no work has been done to synthesize these studies. Thus, the review aimed to synthesize these conversation analytic studies in the setting of palliative care. The review included peer-reviewed studies that focused on communication between HCPs and patients/companions and that were published in English before September 10 2022. The database and manual search produced 16 eligible studies. The thematic analysis generated five themes: (1) promoting patient agency and autonomy; (2) practices for gathering pain-related information and navigating pain concerns (practices for gathering pain-related information and practices for navigating patients' pain concerns); (3) initiating and managing end-of-life discussions; (4) facilitating shared decision making in palliative care; and (5) navigating sensitive topics and uncertainty in prognostic talk. The review highlighted the potential of CA for research in palliative care and had implications for communication practice.

Physician empathy is at the heart of doctor-patient communication and significantly influences patient outcomes. However, the research on how physicians express their empathy and how physician empathy affects patient outcomes and doctor-patient communication has not been well summarized in the latest literature. Thus, we conducted a systematic review to synthesize existing studies on physician empathy and its value to patient outcomes and doctor-patient communication. The systematic review consisted of studies published in English peer-reviewed journals between January 2017 and October 2021. Following the PRISMA procedure, a total of 3055 articles were retrieved, and 11 articles were retained. The thematic analysis revealed three emergent themes: physicians' empathic expressions; patient outcomes (patient functional status, patient safety, and patient satisfaction); and empathy enhancing doctor-patient communication. This study highlighted the different ways empathy may be expressed by physicians and its positive effects on patient outcomes and doctor- patient communication. This study also suggested the under-researched areas that can be expanded in the future.

Organic anion transporter 1 (OAT1) plays a major role in mediating the absorption, distribution and excretion of drugs and other xenobiotics in the human body. In this study we explored the OAT1 status in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients and arthritic animals and its role in regulating the anti-arthritic activity of methotrexate (MTX). We showed that OAT1 expression was significantly downregulated in synovial tissues from RA patients compared with that in the control patients. In collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) rats, synovial OAT1 expression was significantly decreased compared with the control rats. In synoviocytes isolated from CIA rats, PGE2 (0.003-1.75 µM) dose-dependently downregulated OAT1 expression, resulting in decreased absorption of MTX. Silencing OAT1 in synoviocytes caused a 43.7% reduction in the uptake of MTX. Furthermore, knockdown of OAT1 impaired MTX-induced inhibitory effects on the viability and migration of synoviocytes isolated from CIA rats. Moreover, injection of OAT1-shRNA into articular cavity of CIA rats significantly decreased synovial OAT1 expression and impaired the anti-arthritic action of MTX, while injection of lentivirus containing OAT1 sequences led to the opposite results. Interestingly, we found that paeoniflorin-6'-O-benzene sulfonate (CP-25) upregulated OAT1 expression both in vitro and in vivo and promoted MTX uptake by synoviocytes via regulating OAT1 expression and function. Taken together, OAT1 plays a major role in regulating MTX uptake by synoviocytes and the anti-arthritic activity of MTX. OAT1 is downregulated in RA and CIA rats, which can be improved by CP-25.

BACKGROUND: As the HIV epidemic among MSM in China continues, Chinese men who have sex with men (MSM) face various mental health difficulties, including suicide ideation, depression, and stigma. The current study aims to assess the mechanisms between HIV-related stigma, depression, and suicidal ideation among MSM in China. METHODS: This national cross-sectional study was completed on the geosocial networking application (GSN) app, Blued, from December 2020 to March 2021. We used the HIV Stigma Scale and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D10) to measure HIV stigma and depression, respectively. Suicidal ideation was measured by the suicidal ideation-related item. Descriptive analyses, logistic regression, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were used for data analysis. RESULTS: A total of 244 HIV-positive MSM were included in the analysis. The mediation model revealed that the direct pathway of perceived HIV-related stigma on suicidal ideation was significant (standardized pathway coefficient = 0.07), and the indirect pathway of perceived HIV-related stigma on suicidal ideation via depression was also significant (standardized pathway coefficient = 0.04). There was a partial mediating effect of depression in the association between perceived HIV-related stigma and suicidal ideation. CONCLUSIONS: Our study found that both perceived HIV-related stigma and depression were associated with suicidal ideation among HIV-positive MSM in China, and that depression could serve as a mediator between HIV-related stigma and suicidal ideation. Targeted interventions regarding HIV-related stigma and depression should be taken into account to reduce suicidal ideation among HIV-positive MSM in China.

BACKGROUND: The first-line anti-rheumatic drug methotrexate (MTX) is used in the combination. Because of the unpredictable adverse reactions, optimization of relevant regimens is necessary and meaningful. This study aimed to study the possible interaction between Securidaca inappendiculate Hassk. Derived xanthones and MTX. METHODS: We established adjuvant-induced arthritis (AIA) model, which was treated with MTX and MTX + xanthone-rich fraction (XRF). The clinical efficacy was evaluated by histopathological examination, and LC-MS was used to monitor the blood concentration of MTX. Western blotting and immunohistochemistry were used to detect protein expression. In vitro, we assessed the activity of related transporters by cellular uptake assay based on HEK-293T cells. RESULTS: Compared with MTX-treated rats, inflammation in the immunized rats in the MTX + XRF group was obvious, indicating that XRF antagonized the anti-rheumatic effect of MTX. Meanwhile, XRF reduced liver and kidney injuries caused by MTX in addition to MTX. Results from immunohistochemical and nappendiculat assays suggested that XRF may reduce uptake of MTX by down-regulating reduced folate carrier 1 (RFC1). CONCLUSION: This study indicated that XRF could reduce the plasma concentration of MTX by inhibiting the expression of RFC1, antagonize the therapeutic effect of MTX on AIA rats, and reduce its oral bioavailability. The combination of S. inappendiculate and MTX should be further optimized to achieve the goal of increasing efficiency and reducing toxicity.

The effect of heart transplantation (HTx) on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of caspofungin is not well-characterized. The aim of this study was to investigate the population PK of caspofungin in HTx and non-HTx patients and to identify covariates that may affect the PK of caspofungin. Seven successive blood samples were collected before administration and at 1, 2, 6, 10, 16, and 24 h after the administration of caspofungin for at least 3 days. This study recruited 27 HTx recipients and 31 non-HTx patients with 414 plasma concentrations in total. A nonlinear mixed-effects model was used to describe the population PK of caspofungin. The PK of caspofungin was best described by a two-compartment model. The clearance (CL) and volume of the central compartment (Vc) of caspofungin were 0.385 liter/h and 4.27 liters, respectively. The intercompartmental clearance (Q) and the volume of the peripheral compartment (Vp) were 2.85 liters/h and 6.01 liters, respectively. In the final model, we found that albumin (ALB) affected the CL of caspofungin with an adjustment factor of -1.01, and no other covariates were identified. In this study, HTx was not found to affect the PK of caspofungin. Based on the simulations, the dose of caspofungin should be proportionately increased in patients with decreased ALB levels.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is one of the most common autoimmune disease and until now, the etiology and pathogenesis of RA is not fully understood, although dysregulation of immune cells is one of the leading cause of RA-related pathological changes. Based on current understanding, the priority of anti-rheumatic treatments is to restore immune homeostasis. There are several anti-rheumatic drugs with immunomodulatory effects available nowadays, but most of them have obvious safety or efficacy shortcomings. Therefore, the development of novel anti-rheumatic drugs is still in urgently needed. Cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway (CAP) has been identified as an important aspect of the so-called neuro-immune regulation feedback, and the interaction between acetylcholine and alpha 7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α7nAChR) serves as the foundation for this signaling. Consistent to its immunomodulatory functions, α7nAChR is extensively expressed by immune cells. Accordingly, CAP activation greatly affects the differentiation and function of α7nAChR-expressing immune cells. As a result, targeting α7nAChR will bring profound therapeutic impacts on the treatment of inflammatory diseases like RA. RA is widely recognized as a CD4+ T cells-driven disease. As a major component of innate immunity, macrophages also significantly contribute to RA-related immune abnormalities. Theoretically, manipulation of CAP in immune cells is a feasible way to treat RA. In this review, we summarized the roles of different T cells and macrophages subsets in the occurrence and progression of RA, and highlighted the immune consequences of CAP activation in these cells under RA circumstances. The in-depth discussion is supposed to inspire the development of novel cell-specific CAP-targeting anti-rheumatic regimens.

BACKGROUND: COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in many countries; however, a sufficient vaccine coverage rate is not guaranteed due to vaccine hesitancy. To improve the uptake rate of COVID-19 vaccine, it is essential to evaluate the rate of vaccine hesitancy and explore relevant factors in different populations. An urgent need is to measure COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among different population groups, hence a validated scale for measuring COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy is necessary. The present study aims to validate the COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy scale among different populations in China and to provide a scale measuring COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy with satisfactory reliability and validity. METHODS: Self-reported survey data were collected from different populations in China from January to March 2021. Based on the Parent Attitudes about Childhood Vaccines scale, 15 items were adapted to evaluate the COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were utilized to identify internal constructs of the COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy scale among two randomly split subsets of the overall sample. Reliability was analyzed with the internal consistency, composite reliability, and the test-retest reliability, and validity was analyzed with the criterion validity, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. RESULTS: A total of 4227 participants completed the survey, with 62.8% being medical workers, 17.8% being students, 10.3% being general population, and 9.1% being public health professionals. The exploratory factor analysis revealed a three-factor structure that explain 50.371% of the total variance. The confirmatory factor analysis showed that models consisting of three dimensions constructed in different populations had good or acceptable fit (CFI ranged from 0.902 to 0.929, RMSEA ranged from 0.061 to 0.069, and TLI ranged from 0.874 to 0.912). The Cronbach's α for the total scale and the three subscales was 0.756, 0.813, 0.774 and 0.705, respectively. Moreover, the COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy scale had adequate test-retest reliability, criterion validity, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. CONCLUSIONS: The COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy scale is a valid and reliable scale for identifying COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among different population groups in China. Given the serious consequences of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, future studies should validate it across regions and time to better understand the application of the COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy scale.

BACKGROUND: Acute kidney injury (AKI) stage 3, one of the most severe complications in patients with heart transplantation (HT), is associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. We aimed to develop a machine learning (ML) model to predict post-transplant AKI stage 3 based on preoperative and perioperative features. METHODS: Data from 107 consecutive HT recipients in the provincial center between 2018 and 2020 were included for analysis. Logistic regression with L2 regularization was used for the ML model building. The predictive performance of the ML model was assessed using the area under the curve (AUC) in tenfold stratified cross-validation and was compared with that of the Cleveland-clinical model. RESULTS: Post-transplant AKI occurred in 76 (71.0%) patients including 15 (14.0%) stage 1, 18 (16.8%) stage 2, and 43 (40.2%) stage 3 cases. The top six features selected for the ML model to predicate AKI stage 3 were serum cystatin C, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), right atrial long-axis dimension, left atrial anteroposterior dimension, serum creatinine (SCr) and FVII. The predictive performance of the ML model (AUC: 0.821; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.740-0.901) was significantly higher compared with that of the Cleveland-clinical model (AUC: 0.654; 95% [CI]: 0.545-0.763, p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The ML model, which achieved an effective predictive performance for post-transplant AKI stage 3, may be helpful for timely intervention to improve the patient's prognosis.

Post-stroke dysphagia (PSD) is a common and costly complication of stroke and is associated with increased mortality, morbidity, and hospitalization. Although most patients can spontaneously resume swallowing, there are still many patients who do not recover and even die. Despite multiple advances in the acute treatment and secondary prevention of stroke, the effective treatment of PSD remains a neglected area. Studies have shown that repair mechanisms of neurostimulation techniques and increased cortical activity play an important role in the treatment of PSD. In addition, nutritional interventions are also crucial for the treatment of malnutrition in PSD patients. Therefore, this article reviews the effects of the current main clinical treatment methods and nutritional interventions on the treatment and rehabilitation of PSD patients. It also emphasized the necessity of developing an individualized care plan for PSD patients, which is of great significance to promote the clinical treatment, nutritional status, prognosis, and quality of life of PSD patients.

BACKGROUND: The number of empty-nest elderly in China is rapidly increasing. Empty-nest elderly could not receive adequate daily care, economic support and spiritual consolation from their children. Rural empty-nest elderly are facing more serious health challenges than those in urban areas. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to understand the experiences of rural empty-nest elderly in seeking medical services in China. METHODS: The method of inductive content analysis was used to collect and analyze data. Data were collected by in-depth interviews. A total number of 16 participants were involved in this study. A semi-structured interview guideline, which was discussed in depth and agreed upon by all researchers, was used to encourage participants to talk about their experiences in seeking medical services. RESULTS: Rural empty-nest elderly is facing a great challenge in seeking medical services in China. There are some barriers for rural nest elderly to get access to healthcare services, such as low-income status, high expenditure of medical treatment and inadequate health insurance coverage. Due to the absence of the companionship of their adult children, empty-nest elderly have to rely on their neighbors and relatives to seek medical services. CONCLUSIONS: Rural empty-nest elderly have great difficulty in seeking medical services in China. More efforts should be made to get medical services more accessible to rural empty-nest elderly.

RATIONALE: TGF (transforming growth factor)-ß is critically involved in myocardial injury, repair, and fibrosis, activating both Smad (small mothers against decapentaplegic)-dependent and non-Smad pathways. The in vivo role of TGF-ß signaling in regulation of macrophage function is poorly understood. We hypothesized that in the infarcted myocardium, activation of TGF-ß/Smad signaling in macrophages may regulate repair and remodeling. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of macrophage-specific TGF-ß Smad3 signaling in a mouse model of myocardial infarction and to dissect the mechanisms mediating Smad-dependent modulation of macrophage function. METHODS AND RESULTS: TGF-ßs markedly activated Smad3 in macrophages, without affecting Smad-independent pathways. Phagocytosis rapidly and directly activated macrophage Smad3, in the absence of active TGF-ß release. MyS3KO (myeloid cell-specific Smad3 knockout) mice had no baseline defects but exhibited increased late mortality and accentuated dilative postmyocardial infarction remodeling. Adverse outcome in infarcted MyS3KO mice was associated with perturbations in phagocytic activity, defective transition of macrophages to an anti-inflammatory phenotype, scar expansion, and accentuated apoptosis of border zone cardiomyocytes. In vitro, Smad3 null macrophages exhibited reduced expression of genes associated with eat-me signals, such as Mfge8 (milk fat globule-epidermal growth factor factor 8), and reduced capacity to produce the anti-inflammatory mediators IL (interleukin)-10 and TGF-ß1, and the angiogenic growth factor VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor). Mfge8 partly rescued the phagocytic defect of Smad3 null macrophages, without affecting inflammatory activity. Impaired anti-inflammatory actions of Smad3 null macrophages were associated with marked attenuation of phagocytosis-induced PPAR (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor) expression. MyS3KO mice had no significant alterations in microvascular density and interstitial fibrosis in remodeling myocardial segments. CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate that Smad3 critically regulates function of infarct macrophages, by mediating acquisition of a phagocytic phenotype and by contributing to anti-inflammatory transition. Smad3-dependent actions in macrophages protect the infarcted heart from adverse remodeling.

Paeoniflorin-6'-O-benzene sulfonate (CP-25) is a derivative of Paeoniflorin. We investigate beneficial effect of CP-25 on methotrexate (MTX) induced nephrotoxicity in rats. Plasma blood urea nitrogen (Bun), plasma creatinine (CREA), urine CREA and protein in the rats were quantitatively measured. Renal tissues were pathologically observed, and apoptosis was detected. Apoptosis related proteins and organic anion transporter-3 (OAT3) expression were determined by western blotting analysis. MTX induced nephrotoxicity and hematotoxicity in rats with abnormal levels of serum Bun, serum CERA, 24 h urine protein excretion, white blood cells, platelets, plateletcrit and abnormal renal pathological appearance. Either pre-treatment or treatment of CP-25 restored normal levels of hematological and renal function parameters, and improved histopathology in rats treated with MTX. CP-25 prevented MTX induced apoptosis of renal tubular cells, and the effect was further confirmed by its regulatory effects on abnormal expression of Bax, cleaved-caspase-3, cleaved-caspase-8, Cyt-c, Bcl-2. The other important finding is co-administration of CP-25 with MTX significantly increased MTX renal excretion in the damaged rats, and the effect is supposed to be linked with its regulation on abnormal renal OAT3 expression. Taken together, CP-25 shows well protective activity against MTX induced nephrotoxicity, and this effect is via its anti-apoptosis and detoxification properties.

BACKGROUND: Considerable attention has been drawn to empathy in nursing and the concept of empathy has firmly been embedded in nursing discourse. However, little has been known about the details of how nurses express empathy to their patients. In this study, we aim to conduct a qualitative study of actual nurse-patient conversations through which empathy was achieved. METHODS: The data in this study was based on audio-recording of sessions of conversations between participating nurses and patients in two Chinese hospitals. The participants in this study involved 6 female nurses and 14 patients. Based on Bachelor's (1988) categorization of empathy, this study described and analyzed the actual empathic sequences in nursing conversations in an attempt to demonstrate how nursing empathy was interactionally achieved using the method of conversation analysis. Conversation analysis (CA), focusing on the study of talk in interaction, is a useful method for the qualitative analysis of empathic talk in nursing. RESULTS: By drawing on prior theoretical work as well as on empathic sequence in nursing, this study described and analyzed some of the conversational resources nurses and patients used in achieving empathy. It has been shown that empathy can be interactionally and sequentially achieved in actual sequences of talk. Specifically, nursing empathy is a collaboratively constructed action instead of the nurse's own committed action, which is produced in specific interactional contexts. CONCLUSION: Conversation analysis is a very useful method for describing and analyzing the nurse-patient interaction, especially for studying empathy in nursing care. The sequences in this study present example of exemplary empathic interaction between nurses and patients, which might shed some light on how nurses express empathy to their patients. Also, this study could help to increase the understanding of the mirco-process of empathy in nursing and contribute to improving nursing communicative skills.

Defects have been found to enhance the electrocatalytic performance of NiFe-LDH for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Nevertheless, their specific configuration and the role played in regulating the surface reconstruction of electrocatalysts remain ambiguous. Herein, cationic vacancy defects are generated via aprotic-solvent-solvation-induced leaking of metal cations from NiFe-LDH nanosheets. DFT calculation and in situ Raman spectroscopic observation both reveal that the as-generated cationic vacancy defects tend to exist as VM (M=Ni/Fe); under increasing applied voltage, they tend to assume the configuration VMOH , and eventually transform into VMOH-H which is the most active yet most difficult to form thermodynamically. Meanwhile, with increasing voltage the surface crystalline Ni(OH)x in the NiFe-LDH is gradually converted into disordered status; under sufficiently high voltage when oxygen bubbles start to evolve, local NiOOH species become appearing, which is the residual product from the formation of vacancy VMOH-H . Thus, we demonstrate that the cationic defects evolve along with increasing applied voltage (VM → VMOH → VMOH-H ), and reveal the essential motif for the surface restructuration process of NiFe-LDH (crystalline Ni(OH)x → disordered Ni(OH)x → NiOOH). Our work provides insight into defect-induced surface restructuration behaviors of NiFe-LDH as a typical precatalyst for efficient OER electrocatalysis.

BACKGROUND: China's smart home for elderly care emerged in 2008, and had went through four developmental stages which consists of seed stage, start-up stage, development stage and popularization stage. MAIN TEXT: The status quo and development of smart home for elderly care in China is reviewed, and suggestions are provided on how to further develop China's smart home for elderly care. The focus of China's policies on smart home for elderly care were different during those four developmental stages. Compared with Western countries, China's smart home for elderly care is a policy-driven product rather than technology-driven or demand-driven one. In addition, it is quasi-public goods rather than private goods. These unique characteristics of China's smart home for elderly care not only become the driving force of its rapid development, but also bring many challenges to its development, such as the insufficient demand, the disorderly development, and the waste of public and private resources. CONCLUSIONS: Although great progress has been made in China's smart home care, much efforts are still needed to further advance its development. The technical standards for the elderly care services should be formulated as soon as possible and the existing public and private smart home for elderly care platforms should be combined. Enterprises involved in smart home care services should be encouraged to develop new technologies to reduce the cost of products and services provided by smart home for elderly care.

BACKGROUND: Glucocorticoids may impact the accuracy of serum cystatin C (sCysC) in reflecting renal function. We aimed to assess the effect of glucocorticoids on the performance of sCysC in detecting acute kidney injury (AKI) in critically ill patients. METHODS: A prospective observational cohort study was performed in a general intensive care unit (ICU). Using propensity score matching, we successfully matched 240 glucocorticoid users with 960 non-users among 2716 patients. Serum creatinine (SCr) and sCysC were measured for all patients at ICU admission. Patients were divided into four groups based on cumulative doses of glucocorticoids within 5 days before ICU admission (Group I: non-users; Group II: 0 mg < prednisone ≤50 mg; Group III: 50 mg < prednisone ≤150 mg; Group IV: prednisone > 150 mg). We compared the performance of sCysC for diagnosing and predicting AKI in different groups using the area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AUC). RESULTS: A total of 240 patients received glucocorticoid medication within 5 days before ICU admission. Before and after matching, the differences of sCysC levels between glucocorticoid users and non-users were both significant (P <  0.001). The multiple linear regression analysis revealed that glucocorticoids were independently associated with sCysC (P <  0.001). After matching, the group I had significantly lower sCysC levels than the group III and group IV (P <  0.05), but there were no significant differences in sCysC levels within different glucocorticoids recipient groups (P > 0.05). Simultaneously, we did not find significant differences in the AUC between any two groups in the matched cohort (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Glucocorticoids did not impact the performance of sCysC in identifying AKI in critically ill patients.

BACKGROUND: A large number of the hospice patients have been reported to be with symptoms of pain. Thus, managing the patient's pain is one aspect of hospice care provision. The delivery of pain care services could be facilitated through effective communication. However, little has been done to explore the interactional details of the delivery of pain care services in palliative care. METHODS: Conversation analysis is a useful method to explore the interactional details of interaction by hospice care providers and terminally ill patients. Using the method of Conversation Analysis (CA), this study aims to demonstrate how the hospice care provider employs different types of interactional practices to address the patient's pain concerns. The data showed in this study are collected from the Alexander St website http://ctiv.alexanderstreet.com , an educational resource presenting a large collection of psycho-therapeutic videos. RESULTS: In this study, an illustrative analysis is demonstrated to show the potential of conversation analysis for research on pain talk in palliative care. It has been shown that conversation analysis could contribute to unfolding the interactional details regarding "pain talk" in hospice care settings. Specifically, conversation analysis could provide a detailed description and interpretation of the conversational practices, which are used to construct hospice care provider participation in delivering pain talk. In addition, conversation analysis could also demonstrate the interactional resources by which patients disclose their experiences of physical or spiritual pain to the hospice care provider and the way how the hospice care provider responds to the patient's troubles talk or feelings talk. CONCLUSIONS: This study identifies five types of interactional resources which are used to deal with the patient's pain concerns in hospice care setting. A conversation analytical study of pain talk in hospice care could provide a turn-by-turn description of how the hospice care provider communicates with the terminally ill patient in terms of the patient's pain concerns. The findings in this study could inform how the hospice care provider initiates, delivers and develops a pain talk with the terminally ill patient effectively.

The first professional night-time light remote sensing satellite in China, Luojia1-01, has raised the resolution of night-time light data to 130 m, which provides a possibility for the study of small-scale night-time light. This paper is the first research on spatial analysis and quantitative modeling between night-time light intensity (NTLI) and community housing price (CHP) on a small scale by using the Luojia1-01 night-time light imagery. This paper takes Wuhan as the research area, CHP data obtained by web-crawler technology as the research object, combines Luojia1-01 data, and carries out spatial correlation analysis and quantitative modeling on a small scale for them. The experimental results show that there is a strong linear positive correlation between the NTLI and CHP based on geographically weighted regression (GWR), and the CHP data in Wuhan have obvious spatial non-stationarity. Moreover, the coupling mechanism between the NTLI and CHP is also revealed. We can conclude that there is potential for estimating the CHP by using Luojia1-01 night-time light imagery.
