RESUMEN

The rapid proliferation of power sources equipped with lithium-ion batteries poses significant challenges in terms of post-scrap recycling and environmental impacts, necessitating urgent attention to the development of sustainable solutions. The cathode direct regeneration technologies present an optimal solution for the disposal of degraded cathodes, aiming to non-destructively re-lithiate and straightforwardly reuse degraded cathode materials with reasonable profits and excellent efficiency. Herein, a potential-regulated strategy is proposed for the direct recycling of degraded LiFePO4 cathodes, utilizing low-cost Na2SO3 as a reductant with lower redox potential in the alkaline systems. The aqueous re-lithiation approach, as a viable alternative, not only enables the re-lithiation of degraded cathode while ignoring variation in Li loss among different feedstocks but also utilizes the rapid sintering process to restore the cathode microstructure with desirable stoichiometry and crystallinity. The regenerated LiFePO4 exhibits enhanced electrochemical performance with a capacity of 144 mA h g-1 at 1 C and a high retention of 98% after 500 cycles at 5 C. Furthermore, this present work offers considerable prospects for the industrial implementation of directly recycled materials from lithium-ion batteries, resulting in improved economic benefits compared to conventional leaching methods.

RESUMEN

Due to the intrinsic polarized emission property, polarized emissive materials with anisotropic nanostructures are expected to be potential substitutes for polarizers. Herein, by the template-assisted strategy, well-aligned lead-free metal halide Cs3Cu2I5 nanowire (NW) arrays are fabricated by evaporating the precursor ink in the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) for polarized emission. The Cs3Cu2I5/AAO composite film emits highly polarized light with a degree of polarization (DOP) of 0.50. Furthermore, by changing the molar ratio of CsI/CuI, the stability of Cs3Cu2I5 precursor inks is improved. Finally, an ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diode (LED) is adopted to pump the composite film to achieve a blue LED device. The reported Cs3Cu2I5/AAO composite film with highly polarized light emissions will have great potential for polarized emission applications such as liquid crystal display backlights, waveguides, and lasers.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Although sleep quality (SQ) reportedly affects the health-related quality of life (QOL) of patients with epilepsy, little is known about the potential association between SQ and QOL, particularly in children with epilepsy (CWE). Our study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of SQ on the QOL of CWE to obtain more information for the prevention and treatment of epilepsy in children. METHODS: We collected general demographic and clinical data of 212 CWE and 79 controls (children who visited the Health Examination Department), and their guardians were instructed to answer the Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) and the optimized Quality of Life in Childhood Epilepsy Questionnaire-16 (QOLCE-16). The t-test, analysis of variance, chi-square test, and Fisher's exact test were used for between group comparisons. The Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between variables. The direct, indirect, and total effects of predictors on the QOL of CWE were estimated based on an adjusted mediation model. RESULTS: CWE had significantly smaller long-term urban residence rates, less educated guardians, higher total CSHQ score, higher incidence of poor SQ, higher bedtime resistance, more sleep anxiety, worse sleep-disordered breathing, increased parasomnia, more daytime sleepiness, more frequent night waking, and greater sleep onset delay than controls (P < 0.05 for all). The univariable analysis showed significant differences in total CSHQ scores between CWE with different seizure frequency in the last month, whether or not drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE), and with different video electroencephalogram (VEEG) findings (P < 0.05 for all). Differences in QOLCE-16 scores between CWE with different guardian's employment status, age at diagnosis, number of anti-seizure medication (ASM) types, seizure frequency in the last month, DRE status, seizure type, VEEG findings, neuropsychological evaluation findings, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings, and etiology were statistically significant (P < 0.05 for all). The correlation study indicated that the total CSHQ score was negatively correlated with the QOLCE-16 score (P < 0.05). The mediation analysis showed that DRE and VEEG abnormalities had a standardized direct effect on the QOL. Seizure frequency in the last month, DRE, and VEEG abnormalities had an indirect effect on the QOL through SQ, and their mediating effect values of SQ were 31.61 %, 13.45 %, and 14.35 %, respectively. CONCLUSION: Our findings uncovered the relationship of some clinical characteristics with SQ and QOL and characterized the nature of factors affecting the QOL of CWE. SQ could be a key factor in the prognosis of CWE experiencing epileptic seizures, and more attention should be paid on the management of SQ in interventions for epilepsy.

RESUMEN

The short pre-M1 helix within the S1-M1 linker (also referred to as the pre-M1 linker) between the agonist-binding domain (ABD, S1) and the M1 transmembrane helix of the NMDA receptor (NMDAR) is devoid of missense variants within the healthy population but is a locus for de novo pathogenic variants associated with neurological disorders. Several de novo variants within this helix have been identified in patients presenting early in life with intellectual disability, developmental delay, and/or epilepsy. In this study, we evaluated functional properties for twenty variants within the pre-M1 linker in GRIN1, GRIN2A, and GRIN2B genes, including six novel missense variants. The effects of pre-M1 variants on agonist potency, sensitivity to endogenous allosteric modulators, response time course, channel open probability, and surface expression were assessed. Our data indicated that virtually all of the variants evaluated altered channel function, and multiple variants had profound functional consequences, which may contribute to the neurological conditions in the patients harboring the variants in this region. These data strongly suggest that the residues within the pre-M1 helix play a key role in channel gating and are highly intolerant to genetic variation.

RESUMEN

Hole-collecting monolayers have drawn attention in perovskite solar cell research due to their ease of processing, high performance, and good durability. Since molecules in the hole-collecting monolayer are typically composed of functionalized π-conjugated structures, hole extraction is expected to be more efficient when the π-cores are oriented face-on with respect to the adjacent surfaces. However, strategies for reliably controlling the molecular orientation in monolayers remain elusive. In this work, multiple phosphonic acid anchoring groups were used to control the molecular orientation of a series of triazatruxene derivatives chemisorbed on a transparent conducting oxide electrode surface. Using infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy and metastable atom electron spectroscopy, we found that multipodal derivatives align face-on to the electrode surface, while the monopodal counterpart adopts a more tilted configuration. The face-on orientation was found to facilitate hole extraction, leading to inverted perovskite solar cells with enhanced stability and high-power conversion efficiencies up to 23.0%.

RESUMEN

Nanobodies (Nbs) have great potential in immunoassays due to their exceptional physicochemical properties. With the immortal nature of Nbs and the ability to manipulate their structures using protein engineering, it will become increasingly valuable to understand what structural features of Nbs drive high stability, affinity, and selectivity. Here, we employed an anti-quinalphos Nb as a model to illustrate the structural basis of Nbs' distinctive physicochemical properties and the recognition mechanism. The results indicated that the Nb-11A-ligand complexes exhibit a "tunnel" binding mode formed by CDR1, CDR2, and FR3. The orientation and hydrophobicity of small ligands are the primary determinants of their diverse affinities to Nb-11A. In addition, the primary factors contributing to Nb-11A's limited stability at high temperatures and in organic solvents are the rearrangement of the hydrogen bonding network and the enlargement of the binding cavity. Importantly, Ala 97 and Ala 34 at the active cavity's bottom and Arg 29 and Leu 73 at its entrance play vital roles in hapten recognition, which were further confirmed by mutant Nb-F3. Thus, our findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the recognition and stability mechanisms of anti-hapten Nbs and shed new light on the rational design of novel haptens and directed evolution to produce high-performance antibodies.

RESUMEN

N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is one of the most common types of methylation modifications in eukaryotic mRNA. However, its role in the pathogenesis of pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PXG) has not yet been reported. To enhance understanding in this regard, we assessed the m6A methylome in the aqueous humor of patients with PXG. MeRIP-Seq and RNA-Seq analyses were performed to compare the m6A methylomes and gene expression profiles of the aqueous humor of patients with PXG with those of patients with age-related cataract (ARC). Colorimetric m6A quantification was performed to detect global m6A levels. Quantitative reverse transcription PCR confirmed the expression of m6A-related enzymes and mRNAs in both groups. Results showed significantly higher aqueous humor m6A levels in the PXG group than in the ARC group. Five m6A-related enzymes, including METTL3, YTHDC2, HNRNPA2B1, HNRNPC, and LRPPRC, were significantly up-regulated in PXG specimens. We also observed 9728 m6A-modified peaks related to 6126 gene transcripts in the PXG group, with more than 250 genes containing one m6A peak (hypomethylated or hypermethylated). The distribution of the m6A peaks was enriched in coding sequences and 3'-untranslated regions for both groups. GGAC motif structures were also significantly enriched. Bioinformatics analysis further revealed that m6A plays a critical role in extracellular matrix formation and histone deacetylation. Additionally, MMP14, ADAMTSL1, FN1, and HDAC1 showed significant changes in m6A methylation and mRNA expression in the PXG group. Therefore, m6A methylation may regulate extracellular matrix composition in PXG and METTL3 may be a pivotal regulator of this process. In the future, it would be necessary to investigate MMP14, ADAMTSL1, FN1, and HDAC1, which are potential target genes.

RESUMEN

Epileptic spasms (ES) occur mostly between age 3 months and 24 months. ES beginning before 3 months of age were called early-onset ES in previous studies. The aim of this study was to identify clinical and electroencephalographic characteristics of patients with ES onset before 3 months of age. In total, 34 ES patients were retrospectively identified at Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 1, 2020 to October 1, 2022. Our patients had diverse etiologies, including genetic (32.3 %), genetic-structural (11.8 %), structural-acquired (11.8 %), structural-congenital (8.8 %), and metabolic (5.9 %), with 29.4 % of patients having unknown etiology. Some patients experienced ES in clusters (either symmetrical or flexional) that occurred most often during awakening after sleep, and a minority of ES were characterized as isolated or asymmetrical, occurred during sleep, and could also manifest as relatively subtle. Approximately 35.3 % of patients also experienced other seizure types concurrently, including 10 focal seizures and 2 generalized seizures, and only half of the focal seizures had structural causes. The other seizure types occurred alone or sequentially with ES. Interictal electroencephalography revealed hypsarrhythmia or its variants, multifocal discharge, or burst suppression. 18 patients had no seizures lasting for more than 2 months, however, at the last follow-up visit, 5 of them had relapsed. All patients had different degrees of psychomotor retardation.

RESUMEN

Compared with monometallic selenides, bimetallic selenides have better synergistic effects and more abundant active sites for electrochemical reactions. As an important member of the transition metal oxide family, NiCoSe2 has been widely used in energy storage devices and has shown excellent electrochemical performance. So in this paper, nitrogen-doped carbon decorated NiCoSe2 composites (NiCoSe2/NC-700, NiCoSe2/NC-800, and NiCoSe2/NC-900) with a microflower structure were synthesized by calcining nickel-cobalt bimetallic organic skeleton materials at different temperatures, and were used as anode materials for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Because the MOF precursor has many advantages such as structural controllability, and a bimetal synergistic effect, the test results showed that the prepared NiCoSe2/NC composites have a special morphology, outstanding electrical conductivity, excellent lithium storage performance and electrochemical cycling performance in the process of being used as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The NiCoSe2/NC-800 materials displayed a high initial capacity (2099.8/1084.3 mA h g-1), and still maintained a high capacity (1041.2/989.9 mA h g-1) after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.1 A g-1 and in the voltage range of 0.01-3.0 V. In addition, at high current densities of 0.5 A g-1 and 1.0 A g-1, the increased capacity of NiCoSe2/NC composites may be due to the activation of electrodes and the pseudocapacitance during cycling. Through ex situ XRD experiments, the lithium storage mechanism of the NiCoSe2/NC-800 electrode material during cycling was further studied, and NiCoSe2/NC-800 was continuously converted into Ni, Co, and Li2Se during cycling.

RESUMEN

Background: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of left colic artery (LCA) preservation in laparoscopic anterior resection with D3 lymphadenectomy for lower rectal cancer. Methods: A total of 117 patients with lower rectal cancer who received laparoscopic anterior resection were retrospectively analyzed. Results: No differences were detected in terms of the numbers of harvested lymph nodes and metastatic lymph nodes, the intraoperative and postoperative complications or the postoperative recurrence and survival rates between the two groups (p > 0.05), but the LCA preservation group showed a lower anastomotic leakage rate than the LCA nonpreservation group (2/49 vs 12/68). Conclusion: LCA preservation may help reduce the incidence of anastomotic leakage without impairing surgical and oncological outcomes.

RESUMEN

Despite significant progress in the treatment of myeloma, multiple myeloma (MM) remains an incurable hematological malignancy due to cell adhesion-mediated drug resistance (CAM-DR) phenotype. However, data on the molecular mechanisms underlying the CAM-DR remains scanty. Here, we identified a miRNA-mRNA regulatory network in myeloma cells that are directly adherent to bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs). Our data showed that the BMSCs up-regulated miR-30a-5p and down-regulated BCL2L11 at both mRNA and protein level in the myeloma cells. Besides, luciferase reporter genes demonstrated direct interaction between miR-30a-5p and BCL2L11 gene. Moreover, the BMSCs activated NF-ΚB signaling pathway in myeloma cells and the NF-κB P65 was shown to directly bind the miR-30a-5p promoter region. Moreover, suppression of the miR-30a-5p or upregulation of the BCL2L11 promoted apoptosis of the myeloma cells independent of the BMSCs, thus suggesting clinical significance of miR-30a-5p inhibitor and PLBCL2L11 plasmid in CAM-DR. Together, our data demonstrated the role of P65-miR-30a-5p-BCL2L11 loop in CAM-DR myeloma cells. These findings give new insights into the role of tumor microenvironment in the treatment of patients with myeloma.

RESUMEN

The aim of this research is to study the phenotype, genotype, treatment strategies, and short-term prognosis of Chinese children with ATP1A3 (Na+/K+-ATPase alpha 3 gene)-related disorders in Southwest China. Patients with pathogenic ATP1A3 variants identified using next-generation sequencing were registered at the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from December 2015 to May 2019. We followed them as a cohort and analyzed their clinical data. Eleven patients were identified with de novo pathogenic ATP1A3 heterozygous variants. One (c.2542 + 1G > T, splicing) has not been reported. Eight patients with alternating hemiplegia of childhood (AHC), one with cerebellar ataxia, areflexia, pes cavus, optic atrophy, and sensorineural hearing loss (CAPOS), and two with relapsing encephalopathy with cerebellar ataxia (RECA) were included. The initial manifestations of AHC included hemiplegia, oculomotor abnormalities, and seizures, and the most common trigger was an upper respiratory tract infection without fever. All patients had paroxysmal hemiplegic attacks during their disease course. The brain MRI showed no abnormalities. Six out of eight AHC cases reached a stable disease state after treatment. The initial symptom of the patient with CAPOS was ataxia followed by developmental regression, seizures, deafness, visual impairment, and dysarthria, and the brain MRI indicated mild cerebellar atrophy. No fluctuation was noted after using Acetazolamide. The initial manifestations of the two RECA cases were dystonia and encephalopathy, respectively. One manifested a rapid-onset course of dystonia triggered by a fever followed by dysarthria and action tremors, and independent walking was impossible. The brain MRI image was normal. The other one presented with disturbance of consciousness, seizures, sleep disturbance, tremor, and dyskinesias. The EEG revealed a slow background (δ activity), and the brain MRI result was normal. No response to Flunarizine was noted for them, and it took 61 and 60 months for them to reach a stable disease state, respectively. CONCLUSION: Pathogenic ATP1A3 variants play an essential role in the pathogenesis of Sodium-Potassium pump disorders, and AHC is the most common phenotype. The treatment strategies and prognosis depend on the phenotype categories caused by different variation sites and types. The correlation between the genotype and phenotype requires further exploration. WHAT IS KNOWN: • Pathogenic heterozygous ATP1A3 variants cause a spectrum of neurological phenotypes, and ATP1A3-disorders are viewed as a phenotypic continuum presenting with atypical and overlapping features. • The genotype-phenotype correlation of ATP1A3-disorders remains unclear. WHAT IS NEW: • In this study, the genotypes and phenotypes of ATP1A3-related disorders from Southwest of China were described. The splice-site variation c.2542+1G>T was detected for the first time in ATP1A3-related disorders. • The prognosis of twins with AHC p. Gly947Arg was more serious than AHC cases with other variants, which was inconsistent with previous reports. The phenomenon indicated the diversity of the correlation between the genotype and phenotype.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Menopause is a specific physical and psychological transition period for women, during which they experience a series of menopausal symptoms. Menopausal hormone therapy is an important treatment for improving menopausal symptoms. Helping women correctly understand menopausal hormone therapy is a prerequisite for increasing the acceptance and utilization of menopausal hormone therapy by women. Physical examinations are an important method for women to master their own health status and detect potential health problems, and in recent years, an increasing number of women have actively participated in physical examinations. Therefore, this study aims to comprehend the prevalence of menopausal symptoms and attitudes towards menopausal hormone therapy among women aged 40-60 who underwent physical examinations, which would provide a useful reference to reduce the prevalence of menopausal symptoms and improve acceptance of menopausal hormone therapy. METHODS: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Health Management Centre of the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. The data were collected from 295 women aged between 40 and 60 using convenience sampling. Information on all participants was collected through face-to-face interviews. Participants completed a demographic questionnaire and an attitude towards menopausal hormone therapy questionnaire, and the modified Kupperman index was used to assess the prevalence and severity of participants' menopausal symptoms. The collected data were processed using SPSS and Excel software and analysed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression. RESULTS: The top 5 menopausal symptoms were insomnia, fatigue, bone and joint pain, sexual dysfunction and emotional instability. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that residence, sexual intercourse frequency, mentality, and physical exercise were the influencing factors of menopausal symptoms. The study showed that 77% of women said they were still reluctant to receive menopausal hormone therapy after experiencing menopause-related symptoms. The main source of menopausal hormone therapy-related knowledge among women was from surrounding menopausal women (62%), and 54% wanted to gain menopausal hormone therapy-related knowledge through a web-based approach. CONCLUSION: The incidence of menopausal symptoms is higher in women aged 40-60 years, which is related to women's mentality, exercise, and sexual intercourse frequency. In addition, the results of this study indicate that women's knowledge of menopausal hormone therapy is insufficient, which suggests that we need to strengthen health education to improve the acceptance rate of menopausal hormone therapy.

RESUMEN

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of super pulse CO2 laser-assisted punctoplasty with canalicular curettage in primary canaliculitis. In this retrospective serial case study, the clinical data of 26 patients who underwent super pulse CO2 laser-assisted punctoplasty for the treatment of canaliculitis were collected from January 2020 to May 2022. The clinical presentation, intraoperative and microbiologic findings, surgical pain severity, postoperative outcome, and complications were studied. Of the 26 patients, most were females (female:male 20:6), with a mean age of 60.1 ± 16.1 years (range, 19-93). Mucopurulent discharge (96.2%), eyelid redness and swelling (53.8%), and epiphora (38.5%) were the most common presentations. During the surgery, concretions were present in 73.1% (19/26) of the patients. The surgical pain severity scores ranged from 1 to 5, according to the visual analog scale, with a mean score of 3.2 ± 0.8. This procedure resulted in complete resolution in 22 (84.6%) patients and significant improvement in 2 (7.7%) patients, and 2 (7.7%) patients required additional lacrimal surgery with a mean follow-up time of 10.9 ± 3.7 months. The surgical procedure of super pulse CO2 laser-assisted punctoplasty followed by curettage appears to be a safe, effective, minimally invasive, and well-tolerated treatment for primary canaliculitis.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The aim was to clarify the distributions of bacteria in the conjunctival sac and lacrimal sac in patients with chronic dacryocystitis. METHODS: In total, 297 (322 eyes) chronic dacryocystitis patients who underwent nasal endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (EN-DCR) were included. Conjunctival sac secretions from the affected eye were collected preoperatively, and lacrimal sac retention fluid from the affected side in the same patient was collected intraoperatively. Bacterial culture and drug sensitivity testing were performed to determine bacterial distributions. RESULTS: In total, 127 bacterial isolates (49 species) were detected in 123 eyes in the conjunctival group, with a positivity rate of 38.2% (123/322); 85 bacterial isolates (30 species) were detected in 85 eyes in the lacrimal sac group, with a positivity rate of 26.4% (85/322). The positivity rates were significantly different (P = 0.001) between two groups. The gram-negative bacilli proportion in the lacrimal sac group (36/85, 42.4%) was significantly higher than that in the conjunctival sac group (37/127, 29.2%) ( P = 0.047). Positive conjunctival sac secretion culture (123/322) was significantly associated with increased ocular secretion (281/322, 87.3%) (P = 0.002). Among the culture-positive bacteria in the conjunctival sac group and the lacrimal sac group, 30/127, 23.6% and 43/127, 26.7% and 21/85, 24.7% and 20/85, 23.5% were resistant to levofloxacin and tobramycin, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: This study illustrated differences in bacterial distributions between conjunctival sac secretions and retained lacrimal sac fluid in chronic dacryocystitis patients, with a higher proportion of gram-negative bacilli in lacrimal sac secretions. The ocular surface flora in chronic dacryocystitis patients is partially resistant to levofloxacin and tobramycin, which need to be considered by ophthalmologists.

RESUMEN

Developing rapid detection technology for adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is crucial in quality supervision and food safety. Herein, an electrochemical aptasensor based on an aptazyme-catalyzed signal amplification strategy is constructed for ATP detection using polyethyleneimine-functionalized molybdenum disulfide (PEI-MoS2)/Au@PtPd nanobipyramids (MoS2/Au@PtPd NBPs) as a modification material. Additionally, a novel kind of nitrogen-rich covalent organic framework (COF) is prepared using melamine and cyanuric acid (MCA). We synthesize MCA and the Co-based metal organic framework (Co-MOF) as the signal label. Due to the fact that π-π stacking interactions of Co-MOF@MCA can expand the load efficiency and surface concentration of the signal label, the signal response is an order of magnitude higher than that of Co-MOF or MCA as the signal label. Target ATP changes the conformation of the aptazyme, and it becomes activated. With the assistance of metal ions, the signal label is circularly cleaved, causing an amplification of the signal. Among them, MoS2/Au@PtPd NBPs have a large specific surface area and good electrical conductivity and can carry substantial DNA strands and amplify the redox signal of methylene blue (MB). Under optimal conditions, the aptasensor can detect ATP from 10 pM to 100 µM with a low limit of detection of 7.37 × 10-10 µM. Therefore, the novel aptasensor has extensive application prospects in quality supervision and food safety.

RESUMEN

Probing endogenous molecular profiles in living entities is of fundamental significance to decipher biological functions and exploit novel theranostics. Despite programmable nucleic acid-based aptasensing systems across the breadth of molecular imaging, an aptasensing system enabling in vivo imaging with high sensitivity, accuracy, and adaptability is highly required yet is still in its infancy. Artificial catalytic DNA circuits that can modularly integrate to generate multiple outputs from a single input in an isothermal autonomous manner, have supplemented powerful toolkits for intracellular biosensing research. Herein, a multilayer nonenzymatic catalytic DNA circuits-based aptasensing system is devised for in situ imaging of a bioactive molecule in living mice by assembling branched DNA copolymers with high-molecular-weight and high-signal-gain based on avalanche-mimicking hybridization chain reactions (HCRs). The HCRs aptasensing circuit performs as a general and powerful sensing platform for precise analysis of a series of bioactive molecules due to its inherent rich recognition repertoire and hierarchical reaction accelerations. With tumor-targeting capsule encapsulation, the HCRs aptasensing circuit is specifically delivered into tumor cells and allowed the high-contrast imaging of intracellular adenosine triphosphate in living mice, highlighting its potential for visualizing these clinically important biomolecules and for studying the associated physiological processes.

RESUMEN

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) have recently attracted people's extensive attention in their application in energy storage systems resulting from their exclusive characteristics of low cost and environmental compatibility. However, finding suitable cathode materials continues to be the major challenge. Polyoxovanadates (POVs), as an important branch of polyoxometalates (POMs), are considered as a promising electrode material for reversible aqueous ZIBs relying on the flexible valence state of V. Herein, POVs (K2 Zn2 V10 O28 : KZVO) are reported as an advanced cathode for storing Zn2+ , which delivers a high discharge capacity of 223.4 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1 , considerable energy density (182.9 Wh kg-1 ) and power density (40.38 W kg-1 ), and robust cyclic performance. In addition, the dynamic properties of the KZVO/Zn battery are revealed by pseudocapacitance analysis and GITT tests. Meanwhile, the storage mechanism of Zn2+ is further analyzed by ex situ XRD, XPS, TEM, and HRTEM. Overall, this work not only draws up a cathode material for the POMs system in aqueous ZIBs, but also demonstrates that POMs are the rising star in energy storage and electric energy applications.

RESUMEN

The rapid depletion of lithium resources and the increasing demand for electrical energy storage have stimulated the pursuit of emerging electrochemical energy storage. Aqueous zinc ion batteries (ZIBs) are highly sought after for their low cost, high safety, and increased environmental compatibility. However, the search for suitable cathode materials is still tricky for a wide range of researchers. Vanadium oxides (Vx Oy ), with their abundant vanadium valence, easily deformable V-O polyhedrons, and tunable chemical compositions, are of significant advantage in developing emerging materials. This work provides a detailed review of different Vx Oy for the application in aqueous ZIBs. The current problems and optimization strategies of Vx Oy cathode materials are systematically discussed. Finally, the current challenges and possible directions for future research of Vx Oy cathode materials in aqueous ZIBs are presented.

RESUMEN

Aims: Clarifying the initial trigger of the differentially expressed genes in cancers helps researchers understand the cellular system as a whole network. Materials & methods: We retrieve the transcriptome and translatome of tumor and normal tissues from ten liver cancer patients and define differentially expressed genes and tumor-specific mutations. We associate the oncogenesis with the mutations by target prediction and experimental verification. Results: Upregulated genes have tumor-specific mutations in 3'UTRs that abolish the binding of miRNAs. For downregulated genes, their corresponding miRNAs are mutually targeted by two circRNAs, with mutations in base-pairing regions. Transfection experiments support the oncogenic role of these mutations. Conclusions: The tumor-specific mutations serve as the initial trigger of liver cancer. The mutation-circRNA-miRNA-target gene chain is completed.
