RESUMEN

The aim of this study is to provide an empirical answer to the question of whether nexus exists between climate change and sustainable agricultural growth in nine (9) countries within the Sahel region between 1990 and 2020. The study utilized Panel ARDL and Pairwise Dumitrescu Hurlin Panel Causality Tests to arrive at the following conclusions; firstly, the climate change orchestrated by change in rainfall is a very prominent factor causing reduction in sustainable agricultural growth in the Sahel region. One way feedback relationship flows from sustainable agricultural growth to greenhouse gas emission. In the light of the above, this study recommends that, in addressing the adverse effects of change in rainfall on agricultural sustainability, the policymakers in the Sahel region in particular and Africa as a whole should embark on a policy mix by embanking on mitigating policy response towards ensuring sustainable agricultural production via irrigation which is the best mode of water provisions without causing negative spilliovers on the environment. Also, the policymakers should be proactive by embarking on policies and programs that would build the resilience and adaptation of the region ahead of the future adverse effects of agriculturally induced climatic change.

RESUMEN

NiOx-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted much attention because of their low fabrication temperature, suppressed hysteresis, and superior stability. However, the poor interfacial contacts between NiOx and perovskite layers always limit the progress of PSCs. Here, we applied 2-thiophenemethylamine (TPMA) as charge transport channels at the interface between NiOx and perovskite layers. The introduction of TPMA provides moderate dipole moment pointing to the perovskite side and effectively promotes the charge transportation. Meanwhile, TPMA anchorage also passivates the defect states at the surfaces of both NiOx and MAPbI3, which compensates the voltage loss due to the change in NiOx work function induced by the dipole. Thus, the device performance has been significantly enhanced in both electrochemical properties and power conversion efficiency. Our work has demonstrated a new way of improving current and voltage in the NiOx-based PSCs simultaneously through a moderate interfacial dipole moment toward highly efficient PSCs.

RESUMEN

Due to the unique physical and chemical properties of liquid nitrogen (LN2), LN2 fracturing has been considered as a promising reservoir stimulation technique. In order to further investigate the feasibility of LN2 fracturing, a new device is designed to research the effect of LN2 fracturing under different conditions, such as different specimen sizes, temperatures, and confining pressures. The setup consists of three units: a high-pressure LN2 generating system, a true-triaxial loading and heating system, and a control and data acquisition system. Now, a series of experiments have been successfully carried out based on the setup. The results have proven the excellent fracturing effect of LN2 and the applications of this setup. The apparatus lays a foundation for the application of LN2 fracturing in both conventional and geothermal reservoirs.
