RESUMEN

The advancement of spatial transcriptomics (ST) technology contributes to a more profound comprehension of the spatial properties of gene expression within tissues. However, due to challenges of high dimensionality, pronounced noise and dynamic limitations in ST data, the integration of gene expression and spatial information to accurately identify spatial domains remains challenging. This paper proposes a SpaNCMG algorithm for the purpose of achieving precise spatial domain description and localization based on a neighborhood-complementary mixed-view graph convolutional network. The algorithm enables better adaptation to ST data at different resolutions by integrating the local information from KNN and the global structure from r-radius into a complementary neighborhood graph. It also introduces an attention mechanism to achieve adaptive fusion of different reconstructed expressions, and utilizes KPCA method for dimensionality reduction. The application of SpaNCMG on five datasets from four sequencing platforms demonstrates superior performance to eight existing advanced methods. Specifically, the algorithm achieved highest ARI accuracies of 0.63 and 0.52 on the datasets of the human dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and mouse somatosensory cortex, respectively. It accurately identified the spatial locations of marker genes in the mouse olfactory bulb tissue and inferred the biological functions of different regions. When handling larger datasets such as mouse embryos, the SpaNCMG not only identified the main tissue structures but also explored unlabeled domains. Overall, the good generalization ability and scalability of SpaNCMG make it an outstanding tool for understanding tissue structure and disease mechanisms. Sino-Tibetan is the second largest language family in the world. Recent linguistic and genetic studies have traced its origin to Neolithic millet farmers in the Yellow River region of China around 8,000 y ago and also suggested that initial divergence among branches of Sino-Tibetan coincided with expansion of the Neolithic Yangshao culture to the west and southwest during the sixth millennium BP. However, archaeological investigations to date have been insufficient to understand the lifeways of these migrant Proto Sino-Tibetan speakers. Here, we present the results of the interdisciplinary research on the material culture and ritual activities related to the initial southwestward migration of Yangshao populations, based on evidence from microfossil remains on ceramics at three sites in Gansu and Sichuan, regional archaeological contexts, and ethnographic accounts of modern Gyalrong Tibetans. The first Yangshao migrants may have integrated with indigenous hunter-gatherers in the NW Sichuan highlands, and adopted broad-spectrum subsistence strategies, consisting of both millet farming and foraging for local wild resources. Meanwhile, the migrants appear to have retained important ritual traditions previously established in their Yellow River homelands. They prepared qu starter with Monascus mold and rice for brewing alcoholic beverages, which may have been consumed in communal drinking festivals associated with the performance of ritual dancing. Such ritual activities, which to some extent have survived in the skorbro-zajiu ceremonies in SW China, may have then played a central role in maintaining and reinforcing cultural identities, social values, and connections with the homelands of the Proto Sino-Tibetan migrants.

Nuclear Factor Erythroid 2-Related Factor 2 (NRF2) is important for the expression of genes associated with oxidative stress. The levels of NRF2 are controlled by Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (KEAP1)-dependent degradation. Although oxidative stress is known to suppress KEAP1 activity to stabilize the levels of NRF2, the mechanism for this control is unclear. Here, we identify that KEAP1 is modified by SUMO1 at the lysine residue position 39 (K39). Arginine replacement of this lysine (K39R) in KEAP1 did not affect its stability, subcellular localization, or dimerization but promoted the formation of the Cullin 3 ubiquitin ligase and increased NRF2 ubiquitination. This was accompanied by decreased NRF2 expression. Gene reporter assays showed that the transcription of antioxidant response elements was heightened in KEAP1-WT cells compared to cells expressing the KEAP1-K39R SUMO1 substrate mutant. Consistent with this, chromatin immunoprecipitation assays revealed higher NRF2 binding to the promoter regions of antioxidant genes in cells expressing the KEAP1-WT compared to the KEAP1-K39R mutant protein in H1299 lung cancer cell. The significance of this suppression of KEAP1 activity by its SUMOylation was tested in a subcutaneous tumor model of H1299 lung cancer cell lines that differentially expressed the WT and K39R KEAP1 constructs. This model showed that mutating the SUMOylation site on KEAP1 altered the production of reactive oxygen species and suppressed tumor growth. Taken together, our study recognizes that NRF2-dependent redox control is regulated by the SUMOylation of KEAP1. These findings identify a potential new therapeutic option to counteract oxidative stress.

Herein, a concise, effective, and scalable strategy is reported that the introduction of polar molecules (PMs) (e.g., anisole (PhOMe), phenetole (PhOEt), 2-methoxynaphthalene (NaphOMe), thioanisole (PhSMe), and N,N-dimethylaniline (PhNMe2)) as continuously coordinated neutral ligand of cationic active species in situ generated from the constrain-geometry-configuration-type rare-earth metal complexes A-F/AliBu3/[Ph3C][B(C6F5)4] ternary systems can easily switch the regio- and stereoselectivity of the polymerization of conjugated dienes (CDs, including 2-subsituted CDs such as isoprene (IP) and myrcene (MY), 1,2-disubstituted CD ocimene (OC), and 1-substituted polar CD 1-(para-methoxyphenyl)-1,3-butadiene (p-MOPB)) from poor selectivities to high selectivities (for IP and MY: 3,4-selectivity up to 99%; for OC: trans-1,2-selectivity up to 93% (mm up to 90%); for p-MOPB: 3,4-syndioselectivity (3,4- up to 99%, rrrr up to 96%)). DFT calculations explain the continuous coordination roles of PMs on the regulation of the regio- and stereoselectivity of the polymerization of CDs. In comparison with the traditional strategies, this strategy by adding some common PMs is easier and more convenient, decreasing the synthetic cost and complex operation of new metal catalyst and cocatalyst. Such regio- and stereoselective regulation method by using PMs is not reported for the coordination polymerization of olefins catalyzed by rare-earth metal and early transition metal complexes.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: To explore the relationship between body mass index (BMI), chinese visceral adiposity index (CVAI) and the risk of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in populations with different body types defined by BMI. METHODS AND RESULTS: 24 191 participants from the Jinchang cohort were involved in the prospective cohort study with a 2.3-year follow-up. Information from epidemiological investigations, comprehensive health examinations and biochemical examinations was collected. MASLD was assessed by abdominal ultrasonography. BMI and CVAI were calculated using recognized formulas. Cox regressions, Restricted cubic spline (RCS) and Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis were performed. The risk of MASLD increased with the increase in BMI and CVAI (Ptrend <0.001), and there was a nonlinear dose-response relationship. In the total population, BMI and CVAI increased the risk of MASLD with adjusted HR (95%CI) of 1.097 (1.091-1.104) and 1.024 (1.023-1.026), respectively. The results were similar in the lean and overweight/obese groups. There was also a nonlinear relationship between CVAI and MASLD (Pnon-linearity<0.001), no matter in which group. The area under the curve of CVAI was significantly higher than that of BMI in females with different body types, and the areas in the whole females were 0.802 (95%CI: 0.787-0.818) and 0.764 (95%CI: 0.747-0.780), respectively. There was no significant difference in the ability of BMI and CVAI to predict MASLD in all-sex and males, either in lean or overweight/obese groups. CONCLUSIONS: CVAI and BMI were independently associated with the risk of MASLD regardless of body types defined by BMI, and CVAI showed better diagnostic ability for MASLD in females.

BACKGROUND: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is heritable neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), but environmental risk factors have also been suggested to a play a role in its development. Prenatal, perinatal and parental factors have been associated with an increased risk of ASD in children. The aim of the present study was to explore the prenatal, perinatal, and parenting risk factors in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) from Beijing, China by comparing them with typically developing (TD) children. METHODS: A sample of 151 ASD children's parents who from rehabilitation institutions in Beijing were enrolled in this study, and an additional 151 children from kindergartens in Beijing were recruited as a control group (child age: mean = 4.4 years). TD children were matched according to age, sex and maternal education. We explored the maternal AQ (Autism Spectrum Quotient) scores (mean:19.40-19.71, no significant difference between two groups) to referring the genetic baseline. This study evaluated 17 factors with unadjusted and adjusted analyses. RESULTS: Birth asphyxia was associated with a more than a thirteen-fold higher risk of ASD (adjusted odds ratio (AOR) = 13.42). Breastfeeding difficulties were associated with a higher risk of ASD(AOR = 3.46). Parenting influenced the risk of ASD, with low responding (LR) and harsh or neglectful parenting associated with a higher risk of ASD in offspring (AOR = 2.37 for LR, AOR = 3.42 for harsh parenting and AOR = 3.01 for neglectful parenting). Maternal fever during pregnancy was associated with a higher risk of ASD in offspring (AOR = 3.81). CONCLUSIONS: Many factors were associated with ASD in offspring. Further assessment is needed to elucidate the role of modifiable environmental factors to inform prevention strategies.

INTRODUCTION: Existing research has shown that intimate partner violence (IPV) may hinder maternal access to healthcare services, thereby affecting maternal and child health. However, current studies have ignored whether emotional intimate partner violence (EV) could negatively affect maternal healthcare use. This study aims to evaluate the impact of invisible IPV on maternal healthcare utilization in Pakistan. METHODS: We analyzed nationally representative data from the Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey database from 2012-2013 and 2017-2018. Exposure to physical intimate partner violence (PV) and EV was the primary predictor. Based on women's last birth records, outcomes included three binary variables indicating whether women had inadequate antenatal care (ANC) visits, non-institutional delivery, and lack of postnatal health check-ups. A logistic regression model was established on weighted samples. RESULTS: Exposure to EV during pregnancy was significantly associated with having inadequate ANC visits (aOR = 2.16, 95% CI: 1.06 to 4.38, p = 0.033) and non-institutional delivery (aOR = 2.24, 95% CI: 1.41 to 3.57, p = 0.001). Lifetime exposure to EV was associated with increased risks of inadequate ANC visits (aOR = 1.48, 95% CI: 1.00 to 2.19, p = 0.049). Lifetime exposure to low-scale physical intimate partner violence (LSPV) (adjusted OR (aOR) = 1.73, 95% CI: 1.29 to 2.31, p < 0.001) was associated with increased risks of having no postnatal health check-ups. CONCLUSIONS: Pregnant women who experienced EV and LSPV are at greater risk of missing maternal healthcare, even if the violence occurred before pregnancy. Therefore, in countries with high levels of IPV, early screening for invisible violence needs to be integrated into policy development, and healthcare providers need to be trained to identify EV and LSPV.

BACKGROUND: Off-targeted distribution of chemotherapeutic drugs causes severe side effects, further leading to poor prognosis and patient compliance. Ligand/receptor-mediated targeted drug delivery can improve drug accumulation in the tumor but it always attenuated by protein corona barriers. RESULTS: To address these problems, a radically different strategy is proposed that can leave the off-targeted drugs inactive but activate the tumor-distributed drugs for cancer-targeting therapy in a tumor microenvironment-independent manner. The feasibility and effectiveness of this strategy is demonstrated by developing an ultrasound (US)-activated prodrug-loaded liposome (CPBSN38L) comprising the sonosensitizer chlorin e6 (Ce6)-modified lipids and the prodrug of pinacol boronic ester-conjugated SN38 (PBSN38). Once CPBSN38L is accumulated in the tumor and internalized into the cancer cells, under US irradiation, the sonosensitizer Ce6 rapidly induces extensive production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), thereby initiating a cascade amplified ROS-responsive activation of PBSN38 to release the active SN38 for inducing cell apoptosis. If some of the injected CPBSN38L is distributed into normal tissues, the inactive PBSN38 exerts no pharmacological activity on normal cells. CPBSN38L exhibited strong anticancer activity in multiple murine tumor models of colon adenocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma with no chemotherapy-induced side effects, compared with the standard first-line anticancer drugs irinotecan and topotecan. CONCLUSIONS: This study established a side-effect-evitable, universal, and feasible strategy for cancer-targeting therapy.

Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) pneumonia has become an increasingly important public health problem. Recent evidence suggests that epigenetic modifications are critical in the host immune defence against pathogen infection. In this study, we found that S. aureus infection induces the expression of histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, by using a S. aureus pneumonia mouse model, we showed that the HDAC6 inhibitor, tubastatin A, demonstrates a protective effect in S. aureus pneumonia, decreasing the mortality and destruction of lung architecture, reducing the bacterial burden in the lungs and inhibiting inflammatory responses. Mechanistic studies in primary bone marrow-derived macrophages demonstrated that the HDAC6 inhibitors, tubastatin A and tubacin, reduced the intracellular bacterial load by promoting bacterial clearance rather than regulating phagocytosis. Finally, N-acetyl-L- cysteine, a widely used reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenger, antagonized ROS production and significantly inhibited tubastatin A-induced S. aureus clearance. These findings demonstrate that HDAC6 inhibitors promote the bactericidal activity of macrophages by inducing ROS, an important host factor for S. aureus clearance and production. Our study identified HDAC6 as a suitable epigenetic modification target for preventing S. aureus infection, and tubastatin A as a useful compound in treating S. aureus pneumonia.

Vehicle-infrastructure cooperative perception is becoming increasingly crucial for autonomous driving systems and involves leveraging infrastructure's broader spatial perspective and computational resources. This paper introduces CoFormerNet, which is a novel framework for improving cooperative perception. CoFormerNet employs a consistent structure for both vehicle and infrastructure branches, integrating the temporal aggregation module and spatial-modulated cross-attention to fuse intermediate features at two distinct stages. This design effectively handles communication delays and spatial misalignment. Experimental results using the DAIR-V2X and V2XSet datasets demonstrated that CoFormerNet significantly outperformed the existing methods, achieving state-of-the-art performance in 3D object detection.

In nature, plants have developed a series of resistance mechanisms to face various external stresses. As understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying plant resistance continues to deepen, exploring endogenous resistance in plants has become a hot topic in this field. Despite the multitude of studies on plant-induced resistance, how plants respond to stress under natural conditions remains relatively unclear. To address this gap, we investigated Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis) using pine caterpillar (Dendrolimus tabulaeformis) under natural conditions. Healthy Chinese pine trees, approximately 10 years old, were selected for studying induced resistance in Huangtuliangzi Forestry, Pingquan City, Chengde City, Hebei Province, China. Pine needles were collected at 2 h and 8 h after feeding stimulation (FS) via 10 pine caterpillars and leaf clipping control (LCC), to simulate mechanical damage caused by insect chewing for the quantification of plant hormones and transcriptome and metabolome assays. The results show that the different modes of treatments significantly influence the contents of JA and SA in time following treatment. Three types of differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) were found to be involved in the initial response, namely phenolic acids, lipids, and flavonoids. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis indicated that 722 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) are positively related to feeding stimulation and the specific enriched pathways are plant hormone signal transduction and flavonoid biosynthesis, among others. Two TIFY transcription factors (PtTIFY54 and PtTIFY22) and a MYB transcription factor (PtMYB26) were found to be involved in the interaction between plant hormones, mainly in the context of JA signal transduction and flavonoid biosynthesis. The results of this study provide an insight into how JA activates, serving as a reference for understanding the molecular mechanisms of resistance formation in conifers responding to mandibulate insects.

Cardiac arrhythmias remain a significant concern with Ibrutinib (IBR), a first-generation Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitor (BTKi). Acalabrutinib (ABR), a next-generation BTKi, is associated with reduced atrial arrhythmia events. However, the role of ABR in ventricular arrhythmia (VA) has not been adequately evaluated. Our study aimed to investigate VA vulnerability and ventricular electrophysiology following chronic ABR therapy in male Sprague-Dawley rats utilizing epicardial optical mapping for ventricular voltage and Ca2+ dynamics and VA induction by electrical stimulation in ex-vivo perfused hearts. Ventricular tissues were snap-frozen for protein analysis for sarcoplasmic Ca2+ and metabolic regulatory proteins. The results show that both ABR and IBR treatments increased VA vulnerability, with ABR showing higher VA regularity index (RI). IBR, but not ABR, is associated with the abbreviation of action potential duration (APD) and APD alternans. Both IBR and ABR increased diastolic Ca2+ leak and Ca2+ alternans, reduced conduction velocity (CV), and increased CV dispersion. Decreased SERCA2a expression and AMPK phosphorylation were observed with both treatments. Our results suggest that ABR treatment also increases the risk of VA by inducing proarrhythmic changes in Ca2+ signaling and membrane electrophysiology, as seen with IBR. However, the different impacts of these two BTKi on ventricular electrophysiology may contribute to differences in VA vulnerability and distinct VA characteristics.

Studies have demonstrated that fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is an underlying risk factor for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), but evidence exploring the relationship between PM2.5 chemical components and T2DM was extremely limited, to investigate the effects of long-term exposure to PM2.5 and its five constituents (sulfate [SO42-], nitrate [NO3-], ammonium [NH4+]), organic matter [OM] and black carbon [BC]) on incidence of T2DM. Based on the "Jinchang Cohort" platform, a total of 19,884 participants were selected for analysis. Daily average concentrations of pollutants were gained from Tracking Air Pollution in China (TAP). Cox proportional hazards regression models were utilized to estimate the hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) in single-pollutant models, restricted cubic splines functions were used to examine the dose-response relationships, and quantile g-computation (QgC) was applied to evaluate the combined effect of PM2.5 compositions on T2DM. Stratification analysis was also considered. A total of 791 developed new cases of T2DM were observed during a follow-up period of 45254.16 person-years. The concentrations of PM2.5, NO3-, NH4+, OM and BC were significantly associated with incidence of T2DM (P-trend < 0.05), with the HRs in the highest quartiles of 2.16 (95% CI 1.79, 2.62), 1.43 (95% CI 1.16, 1.75), 1.75 (95% CI 1.45, 2.11), 1.31 (95% CI 1.08, 1.59) and 1.79 (95% CI 1.46, 2.21), respectively. Findings of QgC model showed a noticeably positive joint effect of one quartile increase in PM2.5 constituents on increased T2DM morbidity (HR 1.27, 95% CI 1.09, 1.49), and BC (32.7%) contributed the most to the overall effect. The drinkers, workers and subjects with hypertension, obesity, higher physical activity, and lower education and income were generally more susceptible to PM2.5 components hazards. Long-term exposure to PM2.5 and its components (i.e., NO3-, NH4+, OM, BC) was positively correlated with T2DM incidence. Moreover, BC may be the most responsible for the association between PM2.5 constituents and T2DM. In the future, more epidemiological and experimental studies are needed to identify the link and potential biological mechanisms.

There are some problems in positron emission tomography/ computed tomography (PET/CT) lung images, such as little information of feature pixels in lesion regions, complex and diverse shapes, and blurred boundaries between lesions and surrounding tissues, which lead to inadequate extraction of tumor lesion features by the model. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a dense interactive feature fusion Mask RCNN (DIF-Mask RCNN) model. Firstly, a feature extraction network with cross-scale backbone and auxiliary structures was designed to extract the features of lesions at different scales. Then, a dense interactive feature enhancement network was designed to enhance the lesion detail information in the deep feature map by interactively fusing the shallowest lesion features with neighboring features and current features in the form of dense connections. Finally, a dense interactive feature fusion feature pyramid network (FPN) network was constructed, and the shallow information was added to the deep features one by one in the bottom-up path with dense connections to further enhance the model's perception of weak features in the lesion region. The ablation and comparison experiments were conducted on the clinical PET/CT lung image dataset. The results showed that the APdet, APseg, APdet_s and APseg_s indexes of the proposed model were 67.16%, 68.12%, 34.97% and 37.68%, respectively. Compared with Mask RCNN (ResNet50), APdet and APseg indexes increased by 7.11% and 5.14%, respectively. DIF-Mask RCNN model can effectively detect and segment tumor lesions. It provides important reference value and evaluation basis for computer-aided diagnosis of lung cancer.

Chemical presodiation (CP) is an effective strategy to enhance energy density of sodium ion batteries. However, the sodiation reagents reported so far are basically polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) wth low reductive potential (~0.1 V vs. Na+ /Na), which could easily cause over-sodiation and structural deterioration of the presodiated cathodes. In this work, Aromatic ketones (AKs) are rationally designed as mild presodiating reagents by introducing a carbonyl group (C=O) into PAHs to balance the conjugated and inductive effect. As the representatives, two compounds 9-Fluorenoneb (9-FN) and Benzophenone (BP) manifest favorable equilibrium potential of 1.55 V and 1.07 V (vs. Na+ /Na), respectively. Note that 9-FN demonstrates versatile presodiating capability toward multiple Na uptake hosts (tunneled Na0.44 MnO2 , layered Na0.67 Ni0.33 Mn0.67 O2 , polyanionic Na4 Fe2.91 (PO4 )2 P2 O7 , Na3 V2 (PO4 )3 and Na3 V2 (PO4 )2 F3 ), enabling greatly improved initial charging capacity of the cathode to balance the irrevisible capacity of the anode. Our results indicate that the Aromatic ketones are competitive presodiating cathodic reagents for high-performance sodium-ion batteries, and will inspire more studies and application attempts in the future.

This experiment was conducted to define changes in metabolic pathways in response to mandibulate insect feeding and to provide a reference for further investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of conifer resistance. Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis Carr.) in good growth status in natural condition was chosen for stimulation by 10 pine caterpillars (Dendrolimus tabulaefomis Tsai et Liu) as feeding stimulation (FS), leaf clipping control (LCC) as mechanical damage, and CK group (with no treatment) (recorded as 0 h). The metabolome and total flavonoid content were measured in the needles at 0, 2, and 8 h after treatment. Plant hormones were measured with needles at 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 4, 6, and 8 h after different treatments. The results show that a total of 30.8% flavonoids are identified by metabolomics analysis. Compared with leaf clipping control, feeding stimulation of Chinese pine caterpillars significantly induced the upregulation of metabolites in the flavonoid pathway in Chinese pine, and the plant hormones JA and IAA showed expression trends consistent with those of the metabolome. According to the biological processes of the four plant hormones involved, JA and SA are mostly involved in resistance formation, and in this study, both of them also have fluctuating expressions influenced by feeding stimulation, while the expressions of the growth-related hormones IAA and ABA have no significant changes at other time points except for 1 h after treatment. Thus, the flavonoid pathway is one of the main pathways involved in resistance formation in conifers, and JA and IAA are involved in the formation of resistance.

Conductive composites based on thermosetting resins have broad applications in various fields. In this paper, a new self-compositing strategy is developed for improving the conductivity of graphene nanoplatelet/thermosetting resin composites by optimizing the transport channels. To implement this strategy, conventional graphene nanoplatelet/thermosetting resin is crushed into micron-sized composite powders, which are mixed with graphene nanoplatelets to form novel complex fillers to prepare the self-composited materials with thermosetting resins. A highly conductive compact graphene layer is formed on the surface of the crushed composite powders, while the addition of the micron-sized powder induces the orientation of graphene nanoplatelets in the resin matrix. Therefore, a highly conductive network is constructed inside the self-composited material, significantly enhancing the electrical conductivity. The composite materials based on epoxy resin, cyanate resin, and unsaturated polyester are prepared with this method, reflecting that the method is universal for preparing composites based on thermosetting resins. The highest electrical conductivity of the self-composited material based on unsaturated polyester is as high as 25.9 S m-1 . This self-compositing strategy is simple, efficient, and compatible with large-scale industrial production, thus it is a promising and general way to enhance the conductivity of thermosetting resin matrix composites.

Mechanoluminescence (ML) materials present widespread applications. Empirically, modulation for a given ML material is achieved by application of programmed mechanical actuation with different amplitude, repetition velocity and frequency. However, to date modulation on the ML is very limited within several to a few hundred hertz low-frequency actuation range, due to the paucity of high-frequency mechanical excitation apparatus. The universality of temporal behavior and frequency response is an important aspect of ML phenomena, and serves as the impetus for much of its applications. Here, we push the study on ML into high-frequency range (∼250 kHz) by combining with piezoelectric actuators. Two representative ML ZnS:Mn and ZnS:Cu, Al phosphors were chosen as the research objects. Time-resolved ML of ZnS:Mn and ZnS:Cu, Al shows unrevealed frequency-dependent saturation and quenching, which is associated with the dynamic processes of traps. From the point of applications, this study sets the cut-off frequency for ML sensing. Moreover, by in-situ tuning the strain frequency, ZnS:Mn exhibits reversible frequency-induced broad red-shift into near-infrared range. These findings offer keen insight into the photophysics nature of ML and also broaden the physical modulation of ML by locally adjusting the excitation frequency.

Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) due to Klebsiella pneumoniae infection can trigger life-threatening malignant consequences, however, there are few studies on the strain-associated clinical pathogenic mechanisms between VAP and PLA. A total of 266 patients consist of 129 VAP and 137 PLA were included for analysis in this study. We conducted a comprehensive survey for the two groups of K. pneumoniae isolates, including phenotypic experiments, clinical epidemiology, genomic analysis, and instrumental analysis, i.e., to obtain the genomic differential profile of K. pneumoniae strains responsible for two distinct infection outcomes. We found that PLA group had a propensity for specific underlying diseases, especially diabetes and cholelithiasis. The resistance level of VAP was significantly higher than that of PLA (78.57% vs. 36%, P < 0.001), while the virulence results were opposite. There were also some differences in key signaling pathways of biochemical processes between the two groups. The combination of iucA, rmpA, hypermucoviscous phenotype, and ST23 presented in K. pneumoniae infection is more important and highly prudent for timely treatment. The present study may contribute a benchmark for the K. pneumoniae clinical screening, epidemiological surveillance, and effective therapeutic strategies.

Helicity-resolved Raman spectroscopy (HRRS) can effectively distinguish the Raman modes of two-dimensional (2D) layered materials by phonon symmetry. In this paper, we systematically investigated the phonon helicity selection of basal and edge planes of MoS2 bulk by HRRS. We find that the symmetry of the crystal structure changes the helicity selection of the E1g, E1 2g, and A1g modes in the edge plane. The theoretical calculation results confirm that the E1 2g and A1g modes of the basal plane exhibit a perfect helicity exchange, and the helicity selections of the E1 2g and A1g modes of the edge plane are eliminated or weakened. Our study provides references for phonon helicity selection of 2D layered materials represented by MoS2.
