RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is a very common complication of ischemic stroke (IS). Triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index was an effective alternative marker of insulin resistance (IR). This prospective study was designed to explore the correlation between TyG index and PSCI. METHODS: Between January 1 2021 to June 30 2022, consecutive patients with first onset IS were enrolled prospectively. Baseline information was collected at admission and fasting blood was drawn the next morning. Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was used to evaluate cognitive function at three months after stroke. Multiple regression analysis was used to explore the correlation between PSCI and TyG. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) was performed to evaluate the predictive ability. RESULTS: Ultimately, 313 patients were enrolled in this study. The TyG index was higher in patients with PSCI than those without PSCI (8.99 (8.55, 9.54) vs. 8.61(8.25, 8.87), P<0.001). The spearman correlation analysis indicated that TyG index was negatively correlated with MoCA score (r=-0.272, P<0.001). The multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that TyG index was correlated with PSCI independently (P<0.001) regardless of whether the patients had diabetes or not. The area under curve (AUC) of the ROC was 0.684 (95%CI=0.635-0.768, P<0.001). The optimal cutoff value of TyG index for predicting PSCI was 8.81, with a sensitivity of 61.7% and a specificity of 73.6%. CONCLUSION: A higher TyG index level at admission was independently correlated with increased risk of PSCI three months later and could be used as a predictor.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The ratio of triglycerides (TG) to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) bears a relation with poor outcomes of acute ischemic stroke (AIS), but the impact of serum TG/HDL-C level on post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) remains unknown. We conducted this prospective study to explore the association between TG/HDL-C and PSCI. METHODS: Consecutive AIS patients from the Stroke Units of our hospital were prospectively enrolled between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021. Blood samples were collected within 24 h after admission. Cognition function was evaluated by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) at 3 months after stroke. We used logistic regression analyses to explore the relationship between TG/HDL-C and PSCI, and then used a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis to assess the ability of acute TG/HDL-C for predicting PSCI. RESULTS: A total of 227 AIS patients were recruited. Compared with patients without PSCI, those with PSCI had a higher level of TG/HDL-C at admission (P < 0.01). The multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that TG/HDL-C level was independently associated with PSCI (P < 0.01). The area under the curve of the ROC for TG/HDL-C as predictor of PSCI was 0.701 (95%CI 0.635-0.768). The optimal cutoff value of TG/HDL-C to indicate PSCI was 1.564, which gave a sensitivity of 55.2% and specificity of 80.6%. CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrated that a higher level of TG/HDL-C at the acute phase of ischemic stroke predicted the presence of PSCI at 3 months after stroke.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The incidence of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma has been constantly rising in recent decades. The tumor, node, metastasis staging system is designed to predict prognosis in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma. Recent studies have shown that the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) 8th edition is superior to the 7th edition for predicting tumor recurrence in PTC patients. To date, whether the 8th edition is also better able to predict recurrence in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) remains unclear. METHOD: We enrolled 1007 cases from our thyroid cancer database in the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, from 1997 to 2011. Univariable and multivariate Cox hazard regression analyses were used to identify the association between variables and recurrence. Disease-free survival was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared using the log-rank test. RESULTS: A total of 1007 PTMC patients were enrolled, with a median follow-up of 67 months. Of 93 (9.2%) patients downstaged by the changes in versions, 49 (52.7%) were downstaged because the age-at-diagnosis cut-off used for staging increased from 45 to 55 years, while 35 (37.6%) were downstaged due to the weakening of the effects of lymph node metastasis. The recurrence rate of PTMC was 4.17%. Univariate Cox hazards regression analyses showed that TNM stage according to the AJCC 8th edition was significantly associated with recurrence, while the recurrence survival curves showed that TNM stage (stage I vs. stage II-IV) according to the AJCC 8th edition, but not the 7th edition, was significantly associated with disease-free survival (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The AJCC 8th edition has better ability to predict recurrence in PTMC patients than the 7th edition.

RESUMEN

Rheum tanguticum (Maxim. ex Regel) Maxim. ex Balf. is a herbaceous perennial plant indigenous to China, and its root and rhizomes were usually used as an important traditional Chinese medicine. However, the genomic resources are still scarce for R. tanguticum and even for Rheum genus. Transcriptome datasets from different tissues of R. tanguticum were obtained to screen the genes related to anthraquinones biosynthesis, and five free anthraquinones were also determined. Nine cDNA libraries of roots, stems and leaves were generated, and a total of 272 million high-quality reads were assembled into 257,942 unigenes. Based on the functional annotation, A total of 227 candidate enzyme genes involved in the MVA, MEP, shikimate and polyketide pathways were identified, and several differentially expressed genes found functionally associated with anthraquinones biosynthesis showed distinct tissue-specific expression patterns. Especially, we found that the expression levels of PKS III genes might result in the content differences of free anthraquinones in different tissues of R. tanguticum. Besides, 137,400 SSR loci were identified, and 64,081 SSR primer pairs were successfully designed based on these loci. Our results not only provide cues for the genetic mechanism of anthraquinone content differences in different tissues of R. tanguticum, but also lay genomic foundation for the subsequent genetic engineering and breeding for Rheum species. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s12298-021-01099-8.

RESUMEN

KEY MESSAGE: Complete plastomes of Rheum species facilitated to clarify the phylogeny of Polygonaceae, and comparative chloroplast genomics contributed to develop genetic markers for the authentication of Rheum species. Rheum (Polygonaceae) is widely distributed throughout the temperate and subtropical areas of Asian interior. Rheum species are usually perennial herbs, and half of them are endemic to China with important medicinal properties. On account of similar morphological characteristics, species delimitation of Rheum still remains unclear. Chloroplast genomes of eight Rheum species, Rumex crispus and Oxyria digyna were characterized. Based on the comparison of genome structure of these species and the two published Rheum species, it is shown that plastome sequences of these species are relatively conserved with the same gene order, and three Sect. Palmata species remarkably showed high sequence similarities. Some hotspots could be used to discriminate the Rheum species, and 17 plastid genes were subject to positive selection. The phylogenetic analyses indicated that all the Polygonaceae species were clustered in the same group and showed that Rheum species, except for Rheum wittrockii, formed a monophyletic group with high maximum parsimony/maximum likelihood bootstrap support values and Bayesian posterior probabilities. The molecular dating based on plastomes indicated that the divergences within Polygonaceae species were dated to the Upper Cretaceous period [73.86-77.99 million years ago (Ma)]. The divergence of Sect. Palmata species was estimated to have occurred around 1.60 Ma, indicating that its diversification was affected by the repeated climatic fluctuation in the Quaternary.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The associations of occupational activity (OA), commuting, leisure-time physical activity (LTPA), and sitting with overweight/obesity in working adults are controversial. This study explored these factors with the risk of overall and abdominal overweight/obesity in a Chinese working population and whether these associations differ by gender. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted. Data analysis was done among 6739 employed participants. Multivariate logistic regression was used to estimate the odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the studied associations. RESULTS: For male employees, those with heavy OA had a lower overall (OR 0.76; 95% CI, 0.62-0.93) and abdominal (OR 0.76; 95% CI, 0.62-0.93) overweight/obesity risk than those with light OA. Those with LTPA ≥150 min/week had a lower risk of overall (OR 0.73; 95% CI, 0.56-0.96) and abdominal (OR 0.70; 95% CI, 0.53-0.91) overweight/obesity than those with LTPA <150 min/week. Men with leisure-sitting time <2.5 h/day had a significantly lower risk of abdominal overweight/obesity than those sitting ≥4 h/day (OR 0.80; 95% CI, 0.65-0.99). And men who cycled to/from work had a lower risk of overall (OR 0.69; 95% CI, 0.53-0.90) and abdominal overweight/obesity (OR 0.71; 95% CI, 0.54-0.92) than passive transports. However, the above significant associations disappeared among female employees. CONCLUSIONS: Heavy OA, cycling to/from work, and LTPA were associated with lower risk of overall or abdominal overweight/obesity in male employees. Reducing leisure sitting time can also help male employees reduce the risk of abdominal overweight/obesity. More research on gender disparity in the risk of overweight and obesity should be done.

RESUMEN

Toxocara canis is an common intestinal nematode of canids and the principal causative agent of human toxocariasis. Vitellogenin (Vg), a source of amino acids and lipids in the eggs, are considered to play an important role in embryo development of a wide range of organisms. In the present study, the transcriptional levels of Tc-vit-6 gene in male and female adult T. canis were determined by quantitative real-time PCR, which indicated high transcription of Tc-vit-6 in the intestine, reproductive tract and body wall of male and female adult T. canis. The fragment of Tc-vit-6 encoding a vWD domain, was cloned and expressed to produce a rabbit anti-TcvWD polyclonal antibody. Tissue distribution of TcVg6 was detected by immunohistochemical assays, which showed predominant distribution of TcVg6 in the tissues of intestine, as well as reproductive tract (including some of the germ cells) and musculature of male and female adult worms. Collectively, these results indicated multiple biological roles of TcVg6 apart from that in the reproduction of T. canis.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of Waist-to-Height Ratio in early detection of obesity and metabolic syndrome in Chinese children and adolescents. METHOD: A cross-sectional study was conducted in six cities in China in 2010 with 16,914 children and adolescents aged 7-17 years. Participants were randomly divided into the training and testing sets. Diagnostic values were estimated using sensitivity, specificity and areas under receiver operating characteristic curves. RESULTS: The coefficients of variation of Waist-to-Height Ratio among age groups were lower than that of body mass index and waist circumstance. The area under receiver operating characteristic curve of Waist-to-Height Ratio was 0.968 in boys and 0.949 in girls for general obesity evaluation, and 0.983 in boys and 0.984 in girls for central obesity. The optimal cut-offs of Waist-to-Height Ratio were 0.47 in boys and 0.45 in girls in the training set and validated in the testing set. For metabolic syndrome evaluation, the sensitivity and specificity were 0.858 and 0.825 in boys, 0.864 and 0.812 in girls under the suggested cut-offs. CONCLUSION: Waist-to-Height Ratio was a simple, effective and practical tool for mass screening childhood obesity and metabolic syndrome in China. It will have potential values in public health practice.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Whether cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption are associated with the risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS) remains controversial. This study investigated the associations of cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption with MetS in a male population in China. METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional study. A questionnaire was used to collect data on cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, MetS status, and other related information from 8169 men aged 19-97 years. Logistic regression was used to estimate the odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the associations between smoking and alcohol consumption and the risk of MetS. RESULTS: The prevalence of MetS was 15.2% in the study population. Proportions of current smokers and drinkers were 48.2% and 46.5%, respectively. Adjusted OR of MetS was 1.34 (95% CI, 1.01-1.79) among smokers who smoked ≥40 cigarettes/day compared with nonsmokers and 1.22 (95% CI 1.03-1.46) for those who consumed 0.1-99 grams of alcohol/day compared with nondrinkers. Adjusted OR was 2.32 (95% CI 1.45-3.73) among ex-drinkers who never smoked, 1.98 (95% CI 1.35-2.91) among ex-drinkers who were current smokers, and 1.34 (95% CI 1.08-1.68) among current drinkers who never smoked compared with those who neither smoked nor drank. There was a significant interaction between smoking and drinking alcohol on MetS (P for interaction is 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Our study indicated that smoking and drinking is associated with higher prevalence of MetS. Interactions between smoking and drinking on the risk of MetS in men in China may also exist. Our findings need to be confirmed in future case-control or cohort studies.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Outbreaks of human infection with a new avian influenza A H7N9 virus occurred in China in the spring of 2013. Control and prevention of a new human infectious disease outbreak can be strongly affected by public reaction and social impact through the Internet and social media. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the potential roles of Internet surveillance in control and prevention of the human H7N9 outbreaks. METHODS: Official data for the human H7N9 outbreaks were collected via the China National Health and Family Planning Committee website from March 31 to April 24, 2013. We obtained daily posted and forwarded number of blogs for the keyword "H7N9" from Sina microblog website and a daily Baidu Attention Index (BAI) from Baidu website, which reflected public attention to the outbreak. Rumors identified and confirmed by the authorities were collected from Baidu search engine. RESULTS: Both daily posted and forwarded number and BAI for keyword H7N9 increased quickly during the first 3 days of the outbreaks and remained at a high level for 5 days. The total daily posted and forwarded number for H7N9 on Sina microblog peaked at 850,000 on April 3, from zero blogs before March 31, increasing to 97,726 on April 1 and to 370,607 on April 2, and remaining above 500,000 from April 5-8 before declining to 208,524 on April 12. The total daily BAI showed a similar pattern of change to the total daily posted and forwarded number over time from March 31 to April 12. When the outbreak locations spread, especially into other areas of the same province/city and the capital, Beijing, daily posted and forwarded number and BAI increased again to a peak at 368,500 and 116,911, respectively. The median daily BAI during the studied 25 days was significantly higher among the 7 provinces/cities with reported human H7N9 cases than the 2 provinces without any cases (P<.001). So were the median daily posted and forwarded number and daily BAI in each province/city except Anhui province. We retrieved a total of 32 confirmed rumors spread across 19 provinces/cities in China. In all, 84% (27/32) of rumors were disseminated and transmitted by social media. CONCLUSIONS: The first 3 days of an epidemic is a critical period for the authorities to take appropriate action through Internet surveillance to prevent and control the epidemic, including preparation of personnel, technology, and other resources; information release; collection of public opinion and reaction; and clarification, prevention, and control of rumors. Internet surveillance can be used as an efficient and economical tool to prevent and control public health emergencies, such as H7N9 outbreaks.

RESUMEN

Introduction: In today's fast-paced business environment, innovation from elder employees is increasingly vital to organizations. High-involvement work practices that emphasize engagement and empowerment have a significant impact on the innovation performance of these employees, harnessing their wealth of experience and fostering organizational growth. However, most of the current research on innovation performance focuses on the single factor of the individual or the organization, and most of them focus on the linear relationship; research on the factor of human resource practices, in particular high-involvement work practices, is inadequate. Methods: Based on social exchange theory, this paper uses structural equation modeling (SEM) to examine the impact of high-involvement work practices on elder workers' innovation performance using 278 valid samples from three time points, and the non-linear effects of exploratory and exploitative innovation on elder workers' innovation performance. Results: (1) There is no significant relationship between high-involvement work practices and elder employees' innovation performance. (2) Exploratory innovation has a significant U-shaped relationship with innovation performance, i.e., as the level of exploratory innovation increases, the innovation performance of elder employees first decreases and then increases. There is a significant inverted U-shaped relationship between exploitative innovation and innovation performance, i.e., as the level of exploitative innovation increases, innovation performance first increases and then decreases. High-involvement work practices have a U-shaped effect on elder employees' innovation performance through exploitative innovation. (3) Transformational leadership moderates the direct effects of high-involvement on exploratory innovation and elder employees' innovation performance, and transformational leadership moderates the U-shaped effect of high-involvement work practices on elder employees' innovation performance through exploratory innovation. Discussion: The conclusion is helpful for organizations to enhance elder employees' innovation performance by enriching high-involvement work practices.

RESUMEN

Purpose: The fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio (FAR) is a novel inflammation marker associated with various diseases. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between FAR and early neurological deterioration (END) after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Patients and Methods: From September 1, 2021, to March 31, 2023, continuously recruited AIS patients who received IVT within 4.5 hours were included in the study. Blood samples were collected in the emergency room before IVT. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was assessed upon admission and after thrombolysis within the first 24 hours. END was defined as an increase in the NIHSS score by ≥ 4 points within 24 hours after thrombolysis. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted to explore the relationship between FAR and END, and a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive ability of FAR for END. Results: 343 participants were recruited, and 59 (17.2%) experienced END. Patients with END had higher FAR levels than those without END (P<0.001). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that FAR was independently associated with END, both as a continuous variable and as a tertile variable (P<0.005). After excluding patients with hemorrhagic transformation (HT), FAR remained independently associated with END (P<0.005). The area under the curve (AUC) of FAR for predicting END was 0.650 (95% CI=0.571-0.729, P<0.001), with an optimal cutoff of 72.367 mg/g, a sensitivity of 61.6%, and a specificity of 62.6%. Conclusion: FAR upon admission was independently associated with END after IVT and can be an effective predictor.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this prospective study was to evaluate the association of systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), with PSCI in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). METHODS: First-onset AIS patients were consecutively included from January 1, 2022 to March 1, 2023. The baseline information was collected at admission. Fasting blood was drawn the next morning. Cognitive function was assessed by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) 3 months after onset. Logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the correlation between SII, SIRI, and PSCI. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) was conducted to evaluate the predictive ability of SII. RESULTS: 332 participants were recruited, and 193 developed PSCI. Compared with patients without PSCI, the patients with PSCI had higher SII (587.75 (337.42, 988.95) vs. 345.66 (248.44, 572.89), P<0.001) and SIRI (1.59 (0.95, 2.84) vs. 1.02 (0.63, 1.55), P=0.007). SII and SIRI negatively correlated with MoCA scores (both P<0.05). The multivariable logistic regression analysis indicated that SII was independently associated with PSCI (P<0.001), while SIRI was not. The optimal cutoff for SII to predict PSCI was 676.83×109/L. CONCLUSIONS: A higher level of SII upon admission was independently correlated to PSCI three months later in AIS patients.

RESUMEN

Objectives: To assess antibody responses to an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in individuals aged 50 and older. Methods: We conducted a post-market cross-sectional seroepidemiology study. We recruited 4,632 vaccinated individuals aged 50 and older, measured their total serum SARS-CoV-2-specific antibody (TA), and collected correlates. The primary outcome was the geometric mean titer (GMT) of TA, and the secondary outcome was the decline of TA with age. Univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses were used to examine the associations of the TA GMT with age, and trend analyses were used to test whether their associations were significant. Results: All participants had a detectable TA, which was generally at a low level across all age groups. The TA GMT (95% CI) in AU/mL was 3.05 (2.93, 3.18); the corresponding arithmetic mean (95% CI) was 17.77 (16.13, 19.42) in all participants and 4.33 (3.88, 4.84), 3.86 (3.49, 4.28), 3.24 (2.92, 3.59), 2.77 (2.60, 2.96), and 2.65 (2.48, 2.83) in the age groups of 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-74, and 75 years or older, respectively. The TA GMT decreased with age with a P trend < 0.001. The TA GMT was significantly lower in those with hypertension or diabetes compared to those with neither. Conclusion: The inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine is effective in individuals aged 50 and older. This is the first study that has found an inverse dose-response relationship between ages and the low-level TAs. Older people, especially those with chronic diseases, should get the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, and their vaccination frequency, dose, and method may need to be different from those of younger people.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Previous studies indicated that type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) might be associated with the risk of cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between T2DM and the risk of developing common cancers in a Chinese population. METHODS: A population-based retrospective cohort study was carried out in the Nan-Hu district of Jiaxing city, Zhejiang province, China. The incidence of cancer cases among type 2 diabetic patients were identified through record-linkage of the Diabetic Surveillance and Registry Database with the Cancer Database from January 2002 to June 2008. The standardized incidence ratio (SIR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were estimated for the risk of cancer among the patients with type 2 diabetes. RESULTS: The overall incidence of cancer was 1083.6 per 10(5) subjects in male T2DM patients and 870.2 per 105 in females. Increased risk of developing cancer was found in both male and female T2DM patients with an SIR of 1.331 (95% CI = 1.143-1.518) and 1.737 (1.478-1.997), respectively. As for cancer subtypes, both male and female T2DM patients had a significantly increased risk of pancreatic cancer with the SIRs of 2.973 (1.73-4.21) and 2.687 (1.445-3.928), respectively. Elevated risk of liver and kidney cancers was only found in male T2DM patients with SIRs of 1.538 (1.005-2.072) and 4.091 (1.418-6.764), respectively. Increased risks of developing breast cancer [2.209 (1.487-2.93)] and leukemia SIR: [4.167 (1.584- 6.749) ] were found in female patients. CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicated that patients with T2DM have an increased risk of developing cancer. Additional cancer screening should be employed in the management of patients with T2DM.

RESUMEN

Macleaya cordata (Willd.) R. Br. are proposed for the application in phytoremediation of heavy metal-contaminated soil. In this paper, the physiological response, subcellular distribution, chemical form, ultrastructure, and manganese (Mn) absorption characteristics of M. cordata under the stress of 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 mmol/L manganese concentration were studied by sand culture experiment. The results showed that M. cordata seedlings show high tolerance to Mn stress with a concentration of less than 6 mmol/L, while higher Mn concentration showed a significant toxic effect. A low concentration of Mn (≤ 6 mmol/L) can promote the synthesis of chlorophyll and soluble protein; furthermore, superoxide dismutase and peroxidase activities responded positively. The accumulation of Mn in the inactive metabolic part (cell wall and vacuole) of M. cordata leaves might be one of the main Mn detoxification mechanism. According to the ultrastructure of M. cordata, high-concentration Mn2+ (≥ 12 mmol/L) stress can cause M. cordata cells to be distorted and deformed, black precipitates appeared in the intercellular space, mitochondria decrease, chloroplasts shrink, hungry particles increased, and starch granules decrease. The uptake ability of different tissues for Mn is leaf > root > stem, and transport coefficient decreases with the increase of Mn concentration. Clearly, M. cordata has a certain tolerance to manganese, which has the ecological application potential in Mn-polluted areas.

RESUMEN

Vernonia amygdalina Del. is a traditional medicinal plant and vegetable originating from tropical Africa. The phytochemical investigation of V. amygdalina led to eight undescribed polyhydric stigmastane-type steroids, vernonin M-T (1-8). Their gross structures and stereochemistry were elucidated by HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectra, X-ray diffraction, quantum chemical computation of the ECD spectrum, and the in situ dimolybdenum CD method. The anti-neuroinflammatory activity of the isolated compounds was performed in BV-2 microglia cells. As a result, compound 1 displayed a notable anti-neuroinflammatory effect via suppressing the LPS-induced IκB degradation and restricting the activation of the PI3K/AKT and p38 MAPK pathways.

RESUMEN

To explore breast cancer etiology, literature was searched using Medline. We explored the 1) plausibility of smoking in breast carcinogenesis; 2) physiological properties, susceptibility windows, and exposure timing of breast cells; 3) role of exogenous hormones in breast carcinogenesis; 4) biological mechanism of synergistic interactions between smoking and exogenous hormones in breast carcinogenesis; and 5) evidence from epidemiologic studies and the fitted secular trend between smoking rate, exogenous hormone use, and breast cancer incidence in past decades. We deduced that exogenous hormone use per se is not a significant cause and its association with breast cancer is distorted by chronic exposure to environmental carcinogens, especially smoking. We hypothesize that smoking is one of the causes of breast cancer and that this causality is strengthened by synergistic interaction between smoking and exogenous hormone use. Physicians should be cautious of prescribing exogenous hormones for those with chronic exposure to environmental carcinogens to prevent breast cancer.

RESUMEN

Digital technological innovation is reshaping the pattern of industrial development. Due to the shortage of digital talents and the frequent mobility of these people, the competition for talents will be very fierce for organizations to realize digital transformation. The digitization transformation of China's service industry is far ahead of that of industry and agriculture. It is of great significance to study the organizational management and talent management of service enterprises to reduce the negative impact of insufficient talent reserve and meet the needs of digital development. Based on 378 valid questionnaires from China's service industry, this paper applied polynomial regression and a response surface model to analyze the impact of two kinds of person-environment fit on work engagement and individual creativity. The results show that: (1) under the combination of high morality and high talent, work engagement and individual creativity are the highest; (2) individual creativity is stronger under the condition of high morality and low talent than under low morality and high talent; and (3) work engagement mediates the influence of morality and talent on individual creativity. The research reveals the internal mechanism by which morality and talent cooperatively promote individual creativity, which provides theoretical guidance for management practice of service firms to improve individual creativity in the process of digital transformation.

RESUMEN

(±)-Hypersines A-C (1-3), the three pairs of enantiomerically pure monoterpenoid polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols with an unprecedented 6/6/5/4 fused ring system, were isolated from Hypericum elodeoides. Their structures, including absolute configurations, were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic data, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and quantum chemical calculations. The plausible, biosynthetic pathway of 1-3 was proposed. Moreover, the bioactivity evaluation indicated that 1a might be a novel DNA damage response inhibitor, and could enhance MCF-7 cell sensitivity to the anticancer agent, camptothecin.
