The mesothelium, which consists of a monolayer of mesothelial cells, extends over the surface of the serosal cavities (pleura, pericardium, peritoneum and tunica vaginalis). Mesothelial tumours of the tunica vaginalis is rare compared with those arise from pleura or peritoneum. According to World Health Organization 2022 Classification of Urinary and Male Genital Tumours (5th edition), mesothelial tumours of the tunica vaginalis were categorized into adenomatoid tumour, well-differentiated papillary mesothelial tumour (WDPMT) and mesothelioma. Since WDPMT of tunica vaginalis was rare, there was no consensus concerning the treatment of it. In this case report, a 29-year-old man who had endured intermittent right scrotal pain for 8 months, aggravating scrotal pain for 2 weeks was admitted. No symptoms, such as frequent, urgent, or painful urination were shown. Physical examination revealed the enlargement and tenderness of right scrotum, with no signs of lifting pain. The most recent scrotal ultrasonography before surgery revealed right hydrocele with maximum depth of 4 centimeters and poor blood flow of right testis. Under the circumstance of patient' s chronic history of testicular hydrocele, he underwent an emergency operation of right scrotal exploration and hydrocelectomy under epidural anesthesia. After opening the vagina tunic cavity, spot-like bleeding was observed on the right testicle, epididymis and vaginalis surface. The vaginalis was obviously thickened and the inner and outer walls were smooth. The post-operative histopathology revealed a grayish-brown tissue with a thickness of 0.3-0.5 cm, smooth inner and outer walls, and a suspected WDPMT with a diameter of 1. 5 cm. Immunohistochemical staining showed positive for Calretinin, BAP1, WT-1, CK5/6, D2-40 and P16ï¼which confirmed the diagnosis of WDPMT. To sum up, the purpose of this case report was to raise awareness of a rare disease WDPMT, which was usually asymptomatic and could be diagnosed by pathology and immunohistochemistry. The disease should be differentiated from testicular torsion, epididymitis, orchitis and oblique inguinal hernia in symptoms, and from malignant mesothelioma and adenomatoid tumour in pathology. Because of the rarity of the cases, there was no unified standard for the treatment of WDPMT at present. The common treatment methods reported in literature included orchidectomy and vaginectomy. Due to the lack of understanding of this disease, postoperative follow-up was still recommended for at least 5 years.

OBJECTIVE: To summarize the available evidence and to quantitatively evaluate the global results of different waterproofing layers in substantiating the UCF repair. MATERIAL AND METHODS: After defining the study protocol, the review was conducted according to the PRISMA guidelines by a team comprising experts in hypospadiology, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics and data science. Studies published from 2000 onwards, reporting on the results of UCF closure after hypospadias repair were searched for on PUBMED, Embase and Google Scholar. Study quality was assessed using Joanna Briggs Checklist (JBI) critical appraisal tool. The results with different techniques were compared with the two samples independent proportions test with the help of Microsoft Excel, MedCalc software and an online calculator. RESULTS: Seventy-three studies were shortlisted for the synthesis; the final analysis included 2886 patients (71 studies) with UCF repair failure in 539. A summary of various dimensions involved with the UCF repair has been generated including time gap after last surgery, stent-vs-no stent, supra-pubic catheterization, suture material, suturing technique, associated anomalies, complications, etc. The success rates associated with different techniques were calculated and compared: simple catheterization (100%), simple primary closure (73.2%), dartos (78.8%), double dartos flaps (81%), scrotal flaps (94.6%), tunica vaginalis (94.3%), PATIO repair (93.5%), biomaterials or dermal substitutes (92%), biocompatible adhesives (56.5%) and skin-based flaps (54.5%). Several techniques were identified as solitary publications and discussed. CONCLUSIONS: Tunica vaginalis and scrotal flaps offer the best results after UCF closure in the synthesis. However, it is not possible to label any technique as ideal or perfect. Almost all popular waterproofing layers have depicted absolute (100%) success sometimes. There are a vast number of other factors (patient's local anatomy, surgeon's expertise and technical perspectives) which influence the final outcome.

Well differentiated papillary mesothelioma (WDPM) is a rare entity making up 0.3-5% of all mesothelioma cases, while manifestations of the tunica vaginalis are even more uncommon. Literature on WDPM is scarce and our understanding is rather limited. Cellular architecture, stromal invasion, mitotic activity and immunohistochemical markers are used to distinguish well differentiated entities from more malignant subspecies. These cases confront both pathologists and clinicians with a hefty diagnostic challenge. Although no paratesticular WDPM specific mortality has been reported, the prognosis of a malignant mesothelioma is very poor. A correct diagnosis is therefore of the utmost importance. In this paper we provide an overview on the diagnosis and differentiation of mesotheliomas of the tunica vaginalis. Furthermore, we highlight pitfalls and build up a recommended therapeutic strategy.

AIMS: Malignant mesothelioma (MM) of the tunica vaginalis (TV) is a rare and aggressive tumour, and the molecular features and staining profile with contemporary immunohistochemical (IHC) biomarkers are largely unexplored. We characterise the clinicopathological, molecular and IHC features of MM (n = 13) and mesothelial neoplasms of uncertain malignant potential (MUMP) (n = 4). METHODS AND RESULTS: Targeted next-generation sequencing was performed on seven MMs and two MUMPs. IHC was performed for methylthioadenosine phosphorylase (MTAP), BRCA1-associated protein 1 (BAP1) and SRY-box transcription factor 6 (SOX6). Thirteen adenomatoid tumours were also assessed with SOX6. MM were epithelioid (seven of 13) or biphasic (six of 13). In MM, NF2 (five of seven; 71%), CDKN2A (three of seven; 43%) and BAP1 (two of seven; 29%) were most frequently altered. Non-recurrent driver events were identified in PTCH1 and TSC1. In contrast, none of these alterations were identified in MUMPs; however, one MUMP harboured a TRAF7 missense mutation. By IHC, loss of MTAP (two of 12; 17%) and BAP1 (two of nine; 22%) was infrequent in MM, whereas both were retained in the MUMPs. SOX6 was positive in nine of 11 (82%) MMs and negative in all MUMPs and adenomatoid tumours. CONCLUSIONS: Testicular MM exhibit a similar mutational profile to those of the pleura/peritoneum; however, alterations in CDKN2A and BAP1 are less common. These findings suggest that although MTAP and BAP1 IHC are specific for MM, their sensitivity in testicular MMs appears lower. In addition, rare tumours may harbour targetable alterations in driver genes (PTCH1 and TSC1) that are unusual in MMs at other anatomical sites. SOX6 is sensitive for MM; accordingly, the presence of SOX6 expression argues against a benign neoplastic process.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the clinical characteristics, treatment methods, and prognosis of neonatal pyocele of tunica vaginalis and to provide a reference for the clinical treatment. METHODS: A total of 56 newborns with pyocele of tunica vaginalis were admitted to our hospital due to the scrotal emergency from January 2015 to January 2020. Our study retrospectively analyzed these 56 cases. Of the 56 cases, including 32 full-term infants and 24 premature infants, age ranged from 1 to 27 days. Initially, conservative treatment (intravenous antibiotic treatment) was applied to 42 cases, and surgery to 14 cases. Then, 7 underwent surgical exploration during the conservative treatment, and 2 cases with initial surgical treatment experienced orchiectomy because of complete necrosis. For 56 cases, the average follow-up time was 18 months. RESULTS: The clinical recovery time of cases with conservative treatment ranged from 8 to 17 days, with an average of 11.02 ± 2.31 days. The clinical recovery time of cases with surgery ranged from 6 to 15 days, with an average of 9.28 ± 2.78 days. During the follow-up, for 56 cases, except for the 2 cases with orchiectomy, the testicular position and Doppler flow both went back to normal, of the 42 cases with initial conservative treatment, 1 case experienced testicular retardation, of the 14 cases with initial surgical treatment, 2 cases experienced testicular retardation, and hydrocele of 42 cases were self-healed. CONCLUSIONS: Neonatal pyocele of tunica vaginalis is mostly secondary to intra-abdominal infection. Color Doppler ultrasound is helpful for the diagnosis. The percutaneous aspiration is a way of collecting pathogenic bacteria during the conservative treatment. If the color Doppler suggests testicular involvement, surgical exploration should be performed.

Background: Two stage urethroplasty for proximal penile hypospadias is time consuming, expensive and; traumatic both for parents and phallus. On the other hand, single stage procedure technically demanding. We would like to describe Extended Ulaanbaatar Procedure (EUP) which is not a two stage procedure. Rather, might be called as 'extended single stage' procedure. In EUP we have done orthoplasty along with urethroplasty with preputial skin graft at same sitting as primary procedure keeping urination diverted through proximal hypospadiac meatus as "controlled fistula" which was closed after six months as secondary procedure. Methods: We operated on 35 patients of proximal penile hypospadias with moderate to severe chordee. Chordee was excised till correction of curvature. Two distracted cut ends of native plate was bridged with preputial skin graft (PSG) in between. Following that, silastic tube was placed over glandular plate as scaffold, on both cut ends of native plate and PSG. All the urethral plates and PSG were buried with tunica vaginalis flap before glanuloplasty. After six months, proximal "controlled fistula" was closed with scrotal dartos fascia and skin to join distal to proximal urethra. Results: Vertical meatus in glans was found in 32 patients. One patient had glans dehiscence, two patients had medium sized fistula, another two patients had stenosis in neourethra and six had suture track fistula. Twenty-nine patients had satisfactory curve with good flow in uroflowmetry as per nomogram at sixth month of follow up. Conclusion: In classic Ulaanbaatar procedure authors do distal urethroplasty and glanuloplsaty in 1st stage following orthoplasty to avoid repeat trauma in glans in repeat procedures. Left over urethroplasty in classic Ulaanbaatar was done in 2nd stage. However, in EUP; we did urethroplasty for full length following orthoplasty as primary procedure. This procedure is less invasive than two staged as we avoided repeat degloving and repeat dissection on operated tissues. Urethroplasty done as primary procedure shunned the need of repeat degloving, decreased the period of morbidity, stay, and cost of surgery. We also avoided problems of urination through not matured, long, neo-urethra. Similarly complications i.e disruption, stenosis in neo-urethra can be managed utilizing the advantages of urinary diversion.

BACKGROUND: Malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis is a rare tumour which comprises less than 1% of all mesotheliomas. CASE PRESENTATION: 69-years old patient with painful hard mass and hydrocele in the right scrotum to whom a right hydrocelectomy was performed. Any history of scrotal trauma or exposure to asbestos was not present. Excisional biopsy revealed a multinodular tumour with focal areas of necrosis and infiltrative growth. According to morphological and immunohistochemical findings, diagnosis of malignant biphasic mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis was made. Two months after hydrocelectomy, right inguinal orchidectomy was performed. Post-surgical whole body CT scan revealed paraaortic and pararenal lymphadenopathy, likely to be metastatic. Adjuvant treatment with 6 cycles of cisplatin and pemetrexed was applied. After 3 cycles of chemotherapy, CT scan showed progression and the treatment was changed to gemcitabine 1 month after. CONCLUSIONS: Although malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis is a rare malignancy, it poses a diagnostic challenge which can mimic common inguinal or scrotal diseases such as hydrocele. Despite aggressive surgical procedures or adjuvant therapies, the prognosis remains poor.

BACKGROUND: Tubularized incised plate (TIP) urethroplasty is the most commonly performed procedure for hypospadias. Several flap procedures have been recommended to decrease the postoperative complication rate in TIP repair, but no single flap procedure is ideal. This study aimed to compare the outcomes of dartos fascia (DF) and tunica vaginalis fascia (TVF) as intermediate layers in TIP urethroplasty. METHODS: We searched PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, clinicaltrials.gov, and other sources for comparative studies up to April 16, 2020. Studies were selected by the predesigned inclusion criteria. The primary outcomes were postoperative complications. The secondary outcomes were functional and cosmetic outcomes. RESULTS: The pooled RR with 95% CI were calculated. We extracted the relevant information from the included studies. Only 6 comparative studies were included. No secondary outcomes were reported. The RR of the total complications rate for DF was 2.41 (95% CI 1.42-4.07, P = 0.0001) compared with TVF in TIP repair. For each postoperative complication, the RRs were 6.48 (2.20-19.12, P = 0.0007), 5.95 (1.13-31.30, P = 0.04), 0.62 (0.25-1.52, P = 0.29), and 0.75 (0.23-2.46, P = 0.64) for urethrocutaneous fistula, prepuce-related complications, meatal/urethral stenosis, and wound-related complications, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis reveals that compared to DF, TVF is a better option in TIP repair in terms of decreasing the incidence of the total postoperative complications, urethrocutaneous fistula, and prepuce-related complications. However there is limited evidence for functional and cosmetic outcomes. Overall, larger prospective studies and long-term follow-up data are required to further demonstrate the superiority of TVF over DF. TRIAL REGISTRATION: PROSPERO CRD42019148554.

Primary rhabdomyosarcoma of tunica vaginalis is very rare. We report a case of a 15-year-old man presenting as hydrocele. Pre-operatively, no masses were detected by ultrasonography. Hydrocelectomy was performed. At surgery, a 0.8 cm polypoid nodule and diffusely thickened tunica were found. Pathologic examination finally revealed rhabdomyosarcoma. A PET-CT was then performed and indicated scrotal implantation metastasis. The patient underwent radical inguinal orchiectomy and was treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy after surgery. At 12 months of follow-up, he remained disease-free.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the outcomes of recurrent urethrocutaneous fistula repair using tunica vaginalis graft as an intermediate protective layer. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the data of 45 children with recurrent urethrocutaneous fistula who underwent tunica vaginalis graft repair between February 2011 and January 2019. The repair was carried out at least 6 months after a previous fistula repair. Follow up at an outpatient clinic was scheduled on a weekly basis for 1 month, then monthly for 6 months and then annually. During follow up, every patient was evaluated by history taking. The site of repair and the act of micturition were inspected. Urine analyses together with culture and sensitivity tests were carried out if required. Successful repair was defined as the absence of recurrence, with good force and caliber of the urinary stream. RESULTS: This study included 45 patients with recurrent urethrocutaneous fistula who were managed with a tunica vaginalis graft as a second layer. The mean age of patients was 6.7 ± 2.8 years. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 5.5 ± 0.7 days. The repair was successful for 43 (95.6%) patients, and urethrocutaneous fistula recurrence was reported for two (4.4%) patients, which were repaired after 6 months. In all patients, the cosmetic appearance of the penis was satisfactory without torsion or ventral chordee. CONCLUSION: Tunica vaginalis graft is a simple and fast procedure that is highly effective as a protective second layer for recurrent urethrocutaneous fistula repair.

Molecular next gene sequencing was used to evaluate mutations in 409 common mutated cancer-related genes in malignant mesothelioma of tunica vaginalis testis (MMTVT) of 81-year-old man. Multifocal papillary-solid areas contained necrosis among highly cellular fields with multiple mitoses. It was positive for WT1, CKAE1/AE3, calretinin, CK7 with negativity for CK5, PSA, TTF-1. Proliferative changes seen in reactive mesothelial hyperplasia of a hydrocele sac may mimic malignant mesothelioma. There is no immunohistochemical staining that reliably separates benign from malignant mesothelial proliferations. However, the combined analysis of BAP1 by immunohistochemistry and CDKN2A by FISH has been reported to yield both a high specificity and sensitivity in this differential diagnosis. In addition, the evaluation of risk factors such as asbestos exposure or prior traumata may be helpful for the correct diagnosis. Exclusion of stromal invasion, which is diagnostic for malign mesothelioma, is of utmost importance. Therefore, extended histological workup is essential.

BACKGROUND: Malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis (MMTVT) is a rare disease with a poor prognosis. The diagnosis and management of these lesions are often difficult for pathologists, surgeons, oncologists and occupational physicians. A preoperative diagnosis of malignancy is rarely made, and there is no established effective therapy except orchidectomy. METHODS: A systematic literature review was conducted among the articles published in the English literature on primary MMTVT. Moreover four cases from the Apulia mesothelioma register are reported here. RESULTS: Two hundred eighty-nine cases of MMTVT have been reported from 1943 to 2018. Overall asbestos exposure has been investigated only for 58% of all cases reported in this review, while in 41.8% this data are not available. Noteworthy is the fact that in many reports there is not an anamnestic reconstruction of any asbestos exposure. A history of direct occupational, environmental or familial asbestos exposure is found in 27.6% of the cases. The four cases from the Apulia mesothelioma register are all with ascertained occupational exposure to asbestos. CONCLUSIONS: The true incidence of asbestos exposure in MMTVT is underestimated because of insufficient information reported in older literature. To establish a broad consensus on the causal relationship between asbestos and MMTVT in the scientific community its necessary to analyze the same variables in the epidemiological studies. In general it should be recommended that a positive history of exposure to asbestos or to asbestos-containing materials are at risk for the development of a MMTVT and should be monitored.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis is a rare and lethal disease. The genomic characteristics and genetic changes of tumor cells during the progression of this disease are unknown. METHODS: we performed whole-genome sequencing of four successive tumor samples derived from surgery and a blood sample in a single patient. RESULTS: All tumors were found to have significant C-to-T and T-to-C mutations, and amplification of copy number in chromosomes 1 and 12 were notified in all tumor samples. Subclone analysis revealed a parallel evolution of the tumor in this patient. We also identified some mutations in mesothelioma-associated genes such as KIF25, AHNAK, and PRDM2. CONCLUSIONS: The results showed a comprehensive genomic change in malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis and provide a better understanding of the clonal evolution during tumor recurrence and metastasis.

Paratesticular mesothelioma is a rare differential diagnosis in the presence of scrotal hydrocele. A 17-year-old boy presented with a 3-year history of progressive hydrocele. Sonography revealed a large left paratesticular mass within the hydrocele. Serum tumor markers were negative. Left hydrocelectomy was performed and pathological analysis of the epididymal mass revealed a well-differentiated papillary mesothelioma. We discuss the sonographic and pathological findings of this rare neoplasm.

INTRODUCTION: Mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis is a extremely rare tumor and represents 0.3 to 0.5% of all malignant mesotheliomas. Exposure to asbestos often precedes illness. Because of its low incidence and nonspecific clinical presentation, it is mostly diagnosed accidentally during surgery for other reasons and the prognosis is usually poor. We present a case of a patient with a mesothelioma of tunica vaginalis testis, diagnosed secondarily during hydrocele surgery, with long-term survival after radical surgery. MATERIALS AND METHODS: a 40 years old patient was admitted to our department for routine surgery of a left hydrocele. During the operation a frozen section analysis was requested because of the unusual nodular thickening of the tunica vaginalis: the examination revealed a diffuse malignant mesothelioma with epithelioid structure and tubular-papillary proliferation. Therefore a left hemi-scrotectomy with left inguinal lymph node dissection was performed. RESULTS: The definitive histology confirmed the previous report of diffuse malignant mesothelioma with angio-invasion but normal testicle findings and negative lymph nodes. No metastases were found on the CT-scan. For the first 2 years a CT was repeated every 4 months, for other 3 years every 6 months and then yearly. Six years after surgery the patient is classified as no evidence of disease. CONCLUSIONS: malignant mesothelioma of the tunica vaginalis testis is a rare entity, often initially thought to be a hydrocele or an epididymal cyst. An aggressive approach with hemiscrotectomy with or without inguinal and retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy can reduce the risk of recurrence.

The aim of this study is to describe an entity of primary hydrocele accompanied with fibrosis, thickening and hemorrhagic infiltration of parietal layer of tunica vaginalis (PLTV). During a 4-year period (2011-2014), 94 boys (2.5-14 years old) underwent primary hydrocele repair. Hydrocele was right sided in 55 (58.5 %), left sided in 26 (28.7%) and bilateral in 12 patients (13.8%). Eighty three out of 94 patients (88.30%) had communicating hydrocele and the rest eleven patients (11.7%) had non-communicating. Our case group consists of 8 patients (8.51%) based on operative findings consistent with PLTV induration, thickening and hemorrhagic infiltration. Preoperative ultrasonography did not reveal any pathology of the intrascrotal structures besides hydrocele. There weren't hyperechoic reflections or septa within the fluid. Evaluation of thickness of the PLTV was not feasible. Presence of lymph or exudate was excluded after fluid biochemical analysis. Tunica vaginalis histological examination confirmed thickening, hemorrhagic infiltration and inflammation, while there was absence of mesothelial cells. Immunochemistry for desmin was positive, excluding malignant mesothelioma. One patient underwent high ligation of the patent processus vaginalis and PLTV sheath fenestration, but one year later, he faced a recurrence. An elective second surgery was conducted via scrotal incision and Jaboulay operation was performed. The latter methodology was our treatment choice in other 7 out of 8 patients. During a 2-year postoperative follow-up, no other patient had any recurrence. We conclude that in primary hydrocele with macroscopic features indicative of tunica vaginalis inflammation, reversion of the tunica should be a part of operative strategy instead of sheath fenestration, in order to minimize the recurrence.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate clinical use of a tunica vaginalis flap as the dorsal component of a two-stage urethroplasty in boys with cripple hypospadias. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We performed the first stage of a Bracka two-stage urethroplasty, using a tunica vaginalis flap as the dorsal component in six boys with cripple hypospadias. We analysed their clinical characteristics and the results of this technique. RESULTS: The mean (range) age of the boys was 57 (34-120) months. The mean (range) number of previous procedures the boys had undergone was 4 (3-5). At the 6-month follow-up, all the boys presented significant fibrosis of the dorsal graft rendering it unusable for tubularisation. CONCLUSIONS: Exposure to the external environment seems to induce retraction and fibrosis of the tunica vaginalis. We believe one should be very cautious about using tunica vaginalis as the dorsal component of a two-stage urethroplasty, as significant fibrosis might well render the flap unusable.

AIM: To evaluate the results of surgical reconstruction of the upper urinary tract using an autograft of testicular tunica vaginalis in experimental animals. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The article presents the results of partial replacement of the renal pelvis and ureter with an autograft in 25 male dogs. The grafts were harvested by resection of the parietal layer of the testicular tunica vaginalis, which was transplanted into the region of the pelvi-ureteric junction and the proximal ureter. The upper urinary tract was drained using a ureteral stent catheter. The results were evaluated at week 1 and months 1, 3 and six after the operation. The functional state of the kidneys and ureters was analyzed using excretory urography and ultrasound; the autograft biopsy specimens were examined histologically. RESULTS: In all cases, the viability of the autograft was completely preserved, there were no signs of secondary infection, necrosis and impaired patency in the anastomosis zone. Histological examination revealed signs of epithelialization, connective tissue substitution and neovasculogenesis in the implantation zone. CONCLUSION: The proposed surgical modality is an alternative method to restore normal urine flow in the upper urinary tract in obstructive urological diseases. The group of obstructive urological diseases was studied using the model of the strictures of the pelvi-ureteric junction in the intrarenal pelvis and ureteral strictures measuring up to 3-4 cm in length.

The Fischer 344 (F344) rat was used by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) for over 5 decades for toxicity and carcinogenicity studies. However, in 2006, the NTP decided to switch to a different rat stock due largely to high background control incidences of Leydig cell tumors (LCTs) and mononuclear cell leukemia (MNCL), also known as large granular lymphocytic (LGL) leukemia. In the current review, we aim (1) to provide a summary of NTP bioassays with treatment-associated effects involving MNCL and LCTs in addition to male F344-specific tunica vaginalis mesothelioma (TVM); (2) to describe important pathobiological differences between these F344 rat tumor responses and similar target tissue-tumor response in humans; and (3) to present the NTP reasons for switching away from the F344 rat. We show that due to the highly variable background incidence of F344 MNCL, more reliance on historical control data than is usual for most tumor responses is warranted to evaluate potential effect of any chemical treatment in this rat strain. The high spontaneous incidence of LCTs in the testes of male F344 rats has made this tumor endpoint of little practical use in identifying potential testicular carcinogenic responses. TVM responses in F344 rats have a biological plausible relationship to LCTs unlike TVM in humans. Given their high spontaneous background incidence and species-specific biology, we contend that MNCL and LCT, along with TVM responses, in F344 rat carcinogenicity studies are inappropriate tumor types for human health risk assessment and lack relevance in predicting human carcinogenicity.
