ABSTRACT

One of the triazole tautomers, 1,2,4-triazole derivatives, has a wide range of biological activities that suggest its potential therapeutic utility in medicinal chemistry. These actions include anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-tuberculosis, and anti-diabetic effects. The review highlights anti-inflammatory effect of 1,2,4-triazoles in relation to their ability to disrupt significant inflammatory mediators and pathways. We present in-silico data that illuminate the triazoles capacity to inhibit cell division, encourage apoptosis, and stop metastasis in a range of cancer models. This review looks at the bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties of 1,2,4-triazole derivatives, with a focus on their potential efficacy against multi-drug resistant bacterial infections and their usage in tuberculosis therapy. In order to better understand these substances' potential anti-diabetic benefits, this review also looks at how they affect glucose metabolism regulation and insulin responsiveness. Based on information provided, it can be concluded that 1,2,4-triazole derivatives are a promising class of diverse therapeutic agents with potential utility in a range of disorders. Their development and improvement might herald a new era of medical care that will be immensely advantageous to both patients and medical community as a whole. Additionally, this study encourages more research into these substances and their enhancement for use in pharmaceutical development.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Cancer is a fatal disease that severely affects humans. Designing new anticancer strategies and understanding the mechanism of action of anticancer agents is imperative. HYPOTHESIS/PURPOSE: In this study, we evaluated the utility of metformin and D-limonene, alone or in combination, as potential anticancer therapeutics using the human liver and breast cancer cell lines HepG2 and MCF-7. STUDY DESIGN: An integrated systems pharmacology approach is presented for illustrating the molecular interactions between metformin and D-limonene. METHODS: We applied a systems-based analysis to introduce a drug-target-pathway network that clarifies different mechanisms of treatment. The combination treatment of metformin and D-limonene induced apoptosis in both cell lines compared with single drug treatments, as indicated by flow cytometric and gene expression analysis. RESULTS: The mRNA expression of Bax and P53 genes were significantly upregulated while Bcl-2, iNOS, and Cox-2 were significantly downregulated in all treatment groups compared with normal cells. The percentages of late apoptotic HepG2 and MCF-7 cells were higher in all treatment groups, particularly in the combination treatment group. Calculations for the combination index (CI) revealed a synergistic effect between both drugs for HepG2 cells (CI = 0.14) and MCF-7 cells (CI = 0.22). CONCLUSION: Our data show that metformin, D-limonene, and their combinations exerted significant antitumor effects on the cancer cell lines by inducing apoptosis and modulating the expression of apoptotic genes.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Eosinophilic esophagitis is an antigen-mediated chronic inflammatory disorder that has risen in incidence and prevalence over the past 2 decades. The clinical presentation is variable and consists of mainly esophageal symptoms such as dysphagia, heartburn, food impaction, and vomiting. Current management relies on dietary elimination, proton-pump inhibitors, and topical corticosteroids with different response rates and relapses after treatment discontinuation. With a better understanding of the underlying pathophysiology, many molecules emerged recently as targeted treatment including dupilumab (IL4/IL13 blocker), as the first FDA-approved biological treatment, which has changed the management paradigm.

ABSTRACT

Background: Drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHRs) are immune-mediated responses triggered by exposure to a drug. DHRs are responsible for serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and are considered the fifth leading cause of death. This study aims to assess and evaluate the knowledge, practice, and attitudes of healthcare providers (HCPs) towards DHRs. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted at King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Healthcare providers, including pharmacists, physicians, and nurses, were recruited using a convenience sampling method to complete the survey. The survey comprised three domains: knowledge (14 items), attitudes (5 items), and practices (6 items), utilizing a standardized self-administered questionnaire. Results: The survey was completed by 373 healthcare providers. The respondents were predominantly female (72.1 %) with a mean age of 33.8 ± 7.8 years. Of the respondents, 64 % were nurses, 25 % pharmacists, and 11.3 % physicians. Educational levels varied, with 53 % holding a bachelor's degree, 22 % an associate degree, and 25 % a master's degree or higher. The median knowledge score was 48. Female healthcare providers, those with advanced levels of education, and physicians had higher knowledge scores compared to male and nurse participants (p < 0.05). One-third of the respondents (33 %) were satisfied with their knowledge of DHRs, and 42 % believed HCPs should receive more advanced training in DHR management. Less than a quarter of HCPs reported inquiring about patients' histories of hypersensitivity reactions. Conclusions: The study revealed that healthcare workers had a relatively low level of knowledge about drug hypersensitivity reactions and lacked a consensus on DHR management. While displaying a positive attitude towards DHRs, they often did not translate this attitude into consistent clinical practice.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of the degree of fracture reduction after open reduction and internal fixation of Zygomaticomaxillary Complex (ZMC) fractures in the Saudi population of the Al-Baha region, using Gillies approach. Further comparison with preoperative and postoperative standardized computed tomography (CT) views with the calculation of residual deformity percentage, which remained after the ZMC rehabilitation. Methods: A 5-year retrospective CT-based study on preoperative and postoperative axial CT scans of 46 male patients with ZMC fractures. The CT measurements were made (in millimeters) at the fracture site of maximum displacement through the anterior orbital rim and orbital floor, posterolateral wall of the maxillary sinus, zygomatic arch, and zygomaticofrontal suture. For the zygomatic arch, measurements were made (in mm) by drawing a tangent to the fractured arch segments and dropping a perpendicular to the inward displaced fractured arch. The total difference in all measured parts between preoperative and postoperative displacement was calculated in percentages. Results: Upon comparison of preoperative and postoperative zygomaticomaxillary complex CTs, three-point fixation at the regions of infraorbital rim, frontozygomatic suture, and posterolateral wall of the maxilla results in a reduction of the fracture sites in the range of 72.85% to 85%. Maximum reduction was noted at the zygomatic arch, that is, 85%, and minimum at the infraorbital rim, that is, 72.85%. The reduction obtained at all four sites was statistically significant, with P values ranging from .011 to .039. Conclusion: Gillies temporal approach and three-point fixation at the regions of the infraorbital rim, frontozygomatic suture, and posterolateral wall of the maxilla results in satisfactory treatment of ZMC fractures and improves patients oral health and quality of life.

Background: Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) is a vector-borne skin infection that remains prevalent in regions with poor socioeconomic conditions. Stigmatization occurs when individuals with physical or psychological disorders interact with societal stereotypes. The aim of this study was to explore the perceived social stigma surrounding CL among people residing in Hubuna, Saudi Arabia. Methods: This cross-sectional community-based survey recruited 618 individuals aged 18 years and above using the snowball sampling technique to reach hidden cases within the target population. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire and the Explanatory Model Interview Catalogue for Perceived Social Stigma (EMIC-SS-12) was used to assess the level of perceived social stigma. It includes questions on demographic variables, behaviors, and experiences. The analysis was performed using SPSS. Results: The study included 618 participants, the majority of whom were women and girls (54.2%), with a mean age of 28 ± 12.7 years. The median score for perceived social stigma was 26.0. Only 2.1% (n = 13) of participants had the highest EMIC-SS-12 score of 36, while 7.6% (n = 47) scored zero. The mean score for overall perceived social stigma was 1.89 ± 0.91, while the mean score for experienced stigma was 1.99 ± 1.02. Univariate analysis showed that sex, employment, location of lesions, and number of lesions were insignificantly associated with stigmatization (P-value < 0.05), because these associations were uncertain because the CI includes or very close to 1. Conclusion: The study reveals insights into stigmatization associated with CL in the Habuna area of Saudi Arabia. It found that the median of perceived social stigma was 26. Factors such as sex, employment status, and location of the lesion are uncertainly associated with stigma. It is crucial to explore negative behaviors and perceptions and develop suitable health education programs.

ABSTRACT

Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs) have revolutionized the treatment of thromboembolic disorders, offering targeted, effective, and safer alternatives to traditional anticoagulants like heparins and vitamin K antagonists (VKAs). Despite their benefits, DOACs have drawbacks, including an increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and unsuitability for patients with mechanical heart valves. Recent research has highlighted Factor XI (FXI) as a promising anticoagulation target due to its significant role in pathological thrombosis and minor involvement in normal hemostasis. Abelacimab, an antibody that inhibits FXI, has shown potential in transforming anticoagulation therapy by sparing hemostasis. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of abelacimab, examining its clinical pharmacology and its pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties. It scrutinizes abelacimab's safety profile and key monitoring parameters. The current evidence supporting its use and potential future research strengthening its position in anticoagulant therapy is also discussed. The objective is to enhance understanding and contribute to discussions around developing safer anticoagulants, particularly for patients at risk for thrombosis.

This article reviews the existing literature on diagnostic and medical imaging of pregnant women, the risks and safety measures of different medical imaging modalities, and alternative modalities for imaging pregnant patients. Different medical imaging modalities such as MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and X-ray imaging help to evaluate women with recognized or unrecognized pregnancies and identify any underlying complications among pregnant patients. Fetuses are more sensitive to radiation and the effects of medical imaging as compared to adults since they have a rapidly developing cell system. During cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation, fetuses suffer greatly from imaging radiation since they are developing under a dynamic system. To ensure safety, pregnant women should discuss the benefits and risks of medical imaging with their physicians. In addition, radiologists should not perform any medical imaging procedure without the patient's consent, unless the patient cannot make any sound decision. Fetal risks of medical imaging include slow growth and development of the fetus, abortion, malformations, impaired brain function, abnormal childhood growth, and neurological development. Diagnostic imaging procedures are necessary when a condition that needs medical evaluation arises during pregnancy such as appendicitis.

Consanguineous marriages, where spouses are related by blood, have been a longstanding practice in human history. The primary medical concern with consanguineous marriages is the increased risk of genetic disorders. When closely related individuals reproduce, there is a higher probability that both parents carry the same genetic mutation. In Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia, the rate of consanguineous marriage is high compared with Western European and Asian countries. This high rate is directly proportionate with elevated risk of genetic disorders, including congenital heart diseases, renal diseases, and rare blood disorders. Additionally, it was noted that the rate of negative postnatal outcomes is higher in consanguineous marriages compared with the general population. These observations indicate the necessity of tackling this area and highlighting the consequences of this practice. In this review, we aim to discuss the current evidence regarding the association between consanguineous marriages and genetic disorders in Saudi Arabia.

BACKGROUND: Ulcerative colitis is a risk factor for colorectal carcinoma. Different mechanisms are related to colitis like apoptosis and hyperproliferation. Moringa oleifera leaves extract (MO) provides a promising option to overcome the risk. PURPOSE: To examine the colonic changes in a rat model of colitis induced by sodium nitrate (SN) and study the effects of MO. STUDY DESIGN: Eight adult male rats were allocated in each of the three group; control (distilled water), SN (100 mg/kg/day, orally via gastric gavage), and SN + MO (100 mg/kg/day, orally via gastric gavage). METHODS: Body weight was measured after the end of the experiment. Colonic homogenates were tested for levels of oxidative stress indicators. Immunohistochemistry for P53, PCNA and Ki-67 was performed. Fresh colon specimens were used for quantitative real-time PCR for assessment of P53, PCNA and Ki-67 gene expression. RESULTS: SN group revealed a significant decreased weight (p = 0.002). MDA and NO levels were higher with SN administration than with MO co-administration (p= 0.04, 0.01 respectively). GSH level was reduced in SN group (p = 0.02) and significantly increased with MO intake (p = 0.04). SN-induced colonic destructive changes were reversed with MO. P53, PCNA and Ki-67 levels of gene expression were reduced in SN + MO group than SN group (P = 0.007, 0.02, 0.001 respectively). CONCLUSION: MO protected the colonic mucosa against SN-induced changes regulating apoptosis, and cell proliferation.

INTRODUCTION: Hemorrhoidal disease is one of the most common benign anorectal conditions. It is described as the symptomatic enlargement and abnormally downward displacement of anal cushions. Its effect on the quality of life of patients is significantly negative and is considered one of the leading causes of lower gastrointestinal bleeding. However, studies that determine the prevalence of and risk factors associated with hemorrhoidal disease are limited. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of and risk factors for hemorrhoids among the general adult population in the city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. METHODS: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with a structured, prevalidated questionnaire and was used with some modifications. It was created using Google Forms (Google, Mountain View, CA) and distributed via social media platforms in Arabic along with the English version of each question. All data from the returned survey were encrypted. IBM SPSS Statistics, version 21 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY) was used to analyze the data. RESULTS: A total of 400 participants completed the study questionnaire. Regarding the prevalence of hemorrhoids among the general population in Makkah, 64 participants (16%) reported that they were diagnosed with hemorrhoid disorder. The most reported symptoms among participants with hemorrhoids were pain with defecation (76.2%), discomfort (63.5%), and swelling (55.6%). CONCLUSION: Hemorrhoids are one of the most common complaints among surgical patients and are more prevalent in men. The risk of hemorrhoids is significantly higher in married women with a history of pregnancy, who are overweight, and who consume low-fiber diets. It is better to practice close follow-up of patients with hemorrhoids to avoid complications, particularly, patients with chronic diseases who are at a high risk.

Background Parents serve a fundamental role in monitoring developmental milestones and identifying potential delays during early childhood, enabling timely interventions. However, previous studies in Saudi Arabia have shown limited awareness among parents regarding age-specific norms and red flags across developmental domains. This knowledge gap can severely impact the detection and management of abnormalities. Hence, a comprehensive understanding of Saudi parental knowledge, attitudes, and practices concerning childhood developmental trajectories is imperative.  Methodology This cross-sectional study assessed developmental milestone awareness, beliefs, and behaviors among Saudi parents. A sample of 1,052 parents completed a validated 38-item questionnaire covering knowledge, attitudes, practices, and demographics. Knowledge was assessed across developmental domains using 22 multiple-choice questions, with scores categorized as excellent (≥75%), good (50%-75%), fair (40%-50%), or poor (≤39%). Attitudes and practices were captured on five-point Likert scales. Descriptive and chi-square analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 28.0 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY).  Results The majority of participants were females (844, 80.2%), with a mean age of 38.8 years. Serious knowledge inadequacies existed regarding developmental timelines across domains, especially motor milestones like crawling (93, 29.4% correct), sitting unsupported (45, 27.6%), pointing at objects (278, 26.4%), and responding to names (440, 41.8%). Overall, 2 (0.2%) participants showed excellent and 281 (26.7%) showed good understanding, while 490 (46.6%) had poor knowledge. Significant sociodemographic variations were observed, with women and experienced parents demonstrating greater awareness (P < 0.001). Despite knowledge gaps, 542 (51.5%) actively sought developmental information themselves, and over 50% trusted pediatric guidance. Most participants expressed a willingness to undergo screenings if risk factors existed and reported spending a considerable amount of daily interaction time with their children, focusing on developmental needs. Conclusions Critical developmental milestone knowledge shortfalls and selective attitudes persist among Saudi parents, warranting public education and physician-parent communication that enhance interventions to enable impactful developmental monitoring and prompt responses to abnormalities in a timely manner.

Background Breastfeeding and complementary feeding are essential for baby health and nutrition. Concerning these feeding habits, there is a dearth of information on mother awareness and behaviors in Saudi Arabia. This study intends to evaluate maternal knowledge of breastfeeding and complementary feeding in Al Baha City, Saudi Arabia. Methodology This cross-sectional prospective study was conducted among mothers in Al Baha City, Saudi Arabia. Data were collected using a structured electronic questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a chi-square test. Results We received 524 responses. The majority of participants (358, 68.2%) were found to have sufficient understanding of breastfeeding and complementary feeding. Four hundred and forty participants (84%) were aware that breastfeeding should begin immediately after birth, but only 250 (47.7%) participants knew the proper time to start complementary feeding. Three hundred and ninety-six (75.6%) participants were aware of the proper duration of exclusive breastfeeding, whereas 128 (24.4%) of them did not know. The study showed that factors such as occupation, family economic status, and educational level influence maternal knowledge of complementary feeding.  Conclusions The study revealed that the majority of participants had good knowledge about breastfeeding and complementary feeding. The study highlights effective training and public awareness initiatives aimed at improving mothers' knowledge and practices regarding feeding. Additionally, it sheds light on the healthcare providers' exemplary knowledge and attitudes toward appropriate feeding practices among mothers in Al Baha City.

Medication adherence is a critical aspect of managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and achieving optimal clinical outcomes. Mobile app-based interventions have emerged as a promising tool to enhance adherence and glycemic control in T2DM patients. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of mobile app interventions in improving medication adherence and glycated hemoglobin among T2DM patients. A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar for studies published between September 2018 and September 2023. Studies were included if they were published in English and investigated the effectiveness of mobile apps in enhancing medication adherence among patients with T2DM. Studies were excluded if they included additional interventions, such as electronic pillboxes, phone calls, or SMS text messages, or if they focused on populations with chronic illnesses other than T2DM. Five studies involving 527 participants from diverse geographic locations were included in the review. The findings from the included studies show that mobile-based app interventions can significantly improve medication adherence in patients with T2DM. From the included studies, the mean HbA1c change for the intervention group was -0.664 (95%CI -0.823 to -0.506), while the mean change in HbA1c for the control group was -0.103 (95%CI -0.305 to 0.099). Studies have demonstrated the potential of mobile app-based interventions to enhance medication adherence and improve glycemic control in T2DM; further research is needed to determine the long-term effects of these interventions.

Background: The prevalence and patterns of aphrodisiac drug consumption without prescription among men in Saudi Arabia remain underexplored, with limited empirical evidence available. Given the potential health implications and societal considerations, a comprehensive investigation is warranted. Aim: Assess the Prevalence, pattern of use and the associated factors of Aphrodisiac drugs consumption without prescription among men at Najran City, Saudi Arabia. Methods: Employing a cross-sectional descriptive study, 500 participants were included through convenience sampling. The utilized questionnaires covered a range of data, including socio-demographic information, patterns of aphrodisiac use, knowledge about aphrodisiacs, lifestyle details, a sexual health inventory for men, and a perceived stress level scale. Results: The study reveals a significant prevalence of unsanctioned aphrodisiac drug use (31%) among men in Najran City, Saudi Arabia, with a majority (79.3%) consuming these substances four times monthly. Associated disparities in knowledge, lifestyle, stress, and sexual function underscore the urgent need for policy interventions and tailored health education initiatives for this demographic. Conclusion: Approximately one-third of the sampled population engaged in the unsanctioned use of aphrodisiac drugs, with the majority utilizing them four times monthly. Tablets emerged as the most prevalent form of consumption. Commonly cited motives and justifications included peer influence and the perceived safety of aphrodisiacs. Influential factors encompassed levels of knowledge, lifestyle, stress levels, erectile function, age, education, and the number of wives. Recommendations: Urgent policy interventions are warranted to regulate the acquisition and distribution of aphrodisiacs. Tailored health education initiatives should be implemented for married and prospective married men.

The Internet has become a vital source of knowledge and communication in recent times. Continuous technological advancements have changed the way businesses operate, and everyone today lives in the digital world of engineering. Because of the Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications, people's impressions of the information revolution have improved. Malware detection and categorization are becoming more of a problem in the cybersecurity world. As a result, strong security on the Internet could protect billions of internet users from harmful behavior. In malware detection and classification techniques, several types of deep learning models are used; however, they still have limitations. This study will explore malware detection and classification elements using modern machine learning (ML) approaches, including K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Extra Tree (ET), Random Forest (RF), Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), and neural network Multilayer Perceptron (nnMLP). The proposed study uses the publicly available dataset UNSWNB15. In our proposed work, we applied the feature encoding method to convert our dataset into purely numeric values. After that, we applied a feature selection method named Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TFIDF) based on entropy for the best feature selection. The dataset is then balanced and provided to the ML models for classification. The study concludes that Random Forest, out of all tested ML models, yielded the best accuracy of 97.68 %.

BACKGROUND: Esophageal motility disorders (EMDs) can significantly impact patients' quality of life. The Chicago Classification (CC) was developed as a robust framework to enable clinicians to better understand and classify the nature of motility disorders. Previous studies have primarily focused on the CC version 3.0 (CCv3.0), and data regarding the correlation between symptoms and CC version 4.0 (CCv4.0) in the Saudi Arabian population are lacking. This study aimed to assess the correlation between symptoms and CCv3.0 and CCv4.0 using high-resolution esophageal manometry (HRM) in Saudi Arabia, to evaluate the diagnostic performance of both classifications. METHODS: A total of 182 patients presenting with esophageal symptoms were included in this study. HRM was performed to assess esophageal motility, and patients' reported symptoms were recorded. The association between HRM findings and symptomatic variables was analyzed using sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV). RESULTS: Variability was observed in the diagnostic performance of symptomatic variables for major EMDs. CCv4.0 demonstrated a higher sensitivity for dysphagia than CCv3.0; however, it exhibited lower sensitivity to atypical gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms. Noncardiac chest pain (NCCP) exhibited the highest specificity and PPV, whereas typical GERD symptoms showed lower specificity. CONCLUSION: CCv4.0 demonstrated potential improvements in sensitivity for dysphagia, but lower sensitivity for atypical GERD symptoms, compared with CCv3.0. These insights provide guidance for clinicians in Saudi Arabia and contribute to understanding the diagnostic performance of CCv3.0 and CCv4.0.

ABSTRACT

The WHO recommends that all affected countries work toward the elimination of malaria, even those still experiencing a high burden of disease. However, malaria programs in the final phase of elimination or those working to prevent re-establishment of transmission after elimination could benefit from specific evidence-based recommendations for these settings as part of comprehensive and quality-controlled malaria guidelines. The WHO convened an external guideline development group to formulate recommendations for interventions to reduce or prevent malaria transmission in areas with very low- to low-transmission levels and those that have eliminated malaria. In addition, several interventions that could be deployed in higher burden areas to accelerate elimination, such as mass drug administration, were reviewed. Systematic reviews were conducted that synthesized and evaluated evidence for the benefits and harms of public health interventions and summarized critical contextual factors from a health systems perspective. A total of 12 recommendations were developed, with five related to mass interventions that could be deployed at higher transmission levels and seven that would be most appropriate for programs in areas close to elimination or those working to prevent re-establishment of transmission. Four chemoprevention, two active case detection, and one vector control interventions were positively recommended, whereas two chemoprevention and three active case detection interventions were not recommended by the WHO. None of the recommendations were classified as strong given the limited and low-quality evidence base. Approaches to conducting higher quality research in very low- to low-transmission settings to improve the strength of WHO recommendations are discussed.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive and endocrinological disorder that affects a significant percentage of women worldwide. Despite its high prevalence, the possible environmental factors that influence the development of PCOS, especially dietary habits, are still unclear. The aim of this study is to investigate the association between PCOS and junk food consumption among women of childbearing age in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted from February 2023 to April 2023 in 155 women diagnosed with PCOS according to the Rotterdam criteria. Participants aged 18-47 years and living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia completed a validated 30-item electronic questionnaire that included sociodemographic information, medical history, PCOS symptoms, and fast food consumption patterns. RESULTS: The study revealed a high prevalence of obesity and overweight among PCOS patients, which was significantly associated with their diets high in carbohydrates, fats, and refined sugars. In addition, weight loss was difficult for these patients, which could be influenced by hormonal imbalances and dietary factors. In particular, fast food consumption showed a significant association with facial acne in PCOS patients, while some participants also experienced excessive hair growth on the face, abdomen, and back, which may be related to excessive fat intake. CONCLUSION: This study provides evidence to support an association between junk food consumption and the prevalence of PCOS among women of reproductive age in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The findings suggest that dietary patterns may influence the development and treatment of PCOS, highlighting the need for lifestyle interventions as part of treatment strategies. Further studies with larger and more diverse populations, as well as longitudinal studies, are warranted to clarify causal relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of the impact of dietary factors on the development and progression of PCOS. Identifying the potential effects of diet on PCOS can lead to more effective treatments and improve the overall health and well-being of those affected.
