RESUMO
These two tests have been used for the detection of a rotaviral antigen in feces of patients suffering from gastrointestinal disorders. Antibody erythrocytic rotaviral diagnostic agent has been employed in both the tests. A comparative analysis has demonstrated the specificity of both the tests for the indication of a rotavirus and a higher sensitivity of passive hemagglutination.

An oncornavirus immunologically similar to oncornaviruses type D previously isolated from human continuous cells was detected in continuous cells of mammary cancer (SH3). The culture produces structures having densities of 1.18--1.19 and 1.22 g/ml which contain high molecular RNA (68S) and reverse-transcriptase activity. The similarity of this virus with other oncornaviruses was also demonstrated in molecular hybridization experiments.

Three lines of continuous mouse L cells were compared: one of them contained only its endogenic oncornavirus, another was contaminated with SV5 virus, and a third was obtained from the second line chronically infected with vesicular stomatitis virus. Experiments with transfection showed that it was possible to recover SV5 virus from the two former cultures and vesicular stomatitis virus from the latter.
