BACKGROUND: Osteoporosis (OP) stands as a prevalent bone ailment affecting the elderly, globally. The identification of reliable diagnostic markers crucially aids OP clinical management. METHODS: Utilizing the GEO database (GSE35959), we acquired expression profiles for OP and normal samples. Differential expression genes (DEGs) and hub genes were pinpointed through STRING, GEO2R, and Cytoscape. The competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network was constructed using miRTarBase, miRDB, and MiRcode databases. Gene Ontology (GO) and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses were performed via DAVID. Validation involved clinical OP samples from the Pakistani population, with Real-Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-qPCR) assessing hub gene expression. RESULTS: A total of 2124 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between OP and normal samples in GSE35959. The selected hub genes among these DEGs were Splicing Factor 3a Subunit 1 (SF3A1), Ataxin 2 Like (ATXN2L), Heat Shock Protein 90 Beta Family Member 1 (HSP90B1), Cluster of Differentiation 74 (CD74), DExH-Box Helicase 29 (DHX29), ALG5 Dolichyl-Phosphate Beta-Glucosyltransferase (ALG5), NudC Domain Containing 2 (NUDCD2), and Ras-related protein Rab-2A (RAB2A). Expression validation of these genes on the Pakistani OP patients revealed significant up-regulation of SF3A1, ATXN2L, and CD74 and significant (P < 0.05) down-regulation of HSP90B1, DHX29, ALG5, NUDCD2, and RAB2A in OP patients. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis demonstrated that these hub genes displayed considerable diagnostic accuracy for detecting OP. The ceRNA network analysis of the hub genes revealed some important hub genes' regulatory miRNAs and lncRNAs. Via KEGG analysis, hub genes were found to be enriched in N-Glycan biosynthesis, Thyroid hormone synthesis, IL-17 signaling pathway, Prostate cancer, AMPK signaling pathway, Spliceosome, Estrogen signaling pathway, and Fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis, etc., pathways. CONCLUSION: The identified eight hub genes in the present study could reliably distinguish OP patients from normal individuals, which may provide novel insight into the diagnostic research of OP.

INTRODUCTION: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a heterogeneous disease that mainly affects the myocardium. In the current study, we aim to explore HCM-related hub genes through the analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between HCM and normal sample groups. METHODS: The GSE68316 and GSE36961 expression profiles were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database for the identification of DEGs, to explore hub genes, and to perform their expression analysis. Clinical HCM and control tissue samples were taken for expression and promoter methylation validation analysis via RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) and targeted bisulfite sequencing (bisulfite-seq) analyses. Then, other different bioinformatics tools were employed to perform STRING, lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory networks, gene enrichment, and drug prediction analyses. RESULTS: In total, the top 20 DEGs, including 10 up-regulated and 10 down-regulated, were obtained from GSE68316. Out of the 20 DEGs, we subsequently identified the 8 most important hub genes including 5 up-regulated genes (EPB42, UQCRH, CA1, PFDN5, and LSM5) and 3 down-regulated genes (RPS24, TNS1, and RPL26). Expression and promoter methylation dysregulation of these genes were further validated on clinical HCM samples paired with controls. Next, we further investigated hub genes' regulatory 6 miRNAs (has-mir-1-3p, has-mir-129-5p, has-mir-16-5p, has-mir-23b-3p, has-mir-27-3p, and has-mir-182-5p) and miRNAs regulatory 4 lncRNAs (NUTMB2-AS1, NEAT1, XIST, and GABPB1-AS1) in this study via the lncRNA-cricRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network. Later on, gene enrichment analysis revealed that hub genes were enriched in various important pathways including Nitrogen metabolism, Ribosome, RNA degradation, Cardiac muscle contraction, and Coronavirus disease, etc. Finally, the drug prediction analysis highlighted different potential candidate drugs for altering the expression of hub genes in the treatment of HCM. CONCLUSION: In summary, the identification of key hub genes and their enrichment analysis in the current study may shed light on the mechanisms behind the occurrence and development of HCM.

Background Pharmacists play a significant role in patient care, and many patients consider them to be their primary source of information regarding medications. Therefore, pharmacists must have an adequate level of knowledge about psychotropic medications. This study aims to assess and compare the levels of knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding psychotropic medications in governmental and private-sector pharmacists in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Methods An observational cross-sectional study was conducted, which included 355 pharmacists (governmental and private sector pharmacists). Each pharmacist was interviewed and asked to answer a structured questionnaire that consisted of four sections: demographic data, knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding psychotropic medications. Results Our findings indicate that the overall knowledge regarding psychotropic medications among private and government-sector pharmacists is insufficient. While 282 (79.4%) had insufficient knowledge, 20.6% of pharmacists had adequate knowledge regarding psychotropic medications, and good knowledge was detected among 29.1% of government-sector pharmacists compared to 18.1% of private-sector pharmacists (P = .033). Our results also revealed that 31.5% of the pharmacists felt comfortable with their knowledge of psychotropic agents. In addition, 18.9% of the pharmacists reported that they received adequate training on psychotropic medications (12.7% of the governmental group versus 20.7% of the private-sector group; P =.048). Conclusion The insufficient knowledge among pharmacists regarding psychotropic medications highlights the importance of providing more training programs and educational courses to improve pharmacists' knowledge about psychotropic medications in Saudi Arabia.

Derivative Thermogravimetric analysis under air was used to observe the thermal decomposition process of Chicken feather fiber (CFF) reinforced Poly-lactic acid (PLA) composite filament of 2.2 mm diameter. The thermal degradation of the sample was initiated at 140 Ö¯C. Approximately 75 % of the thermal degradation occurred between the temperature of 357 Ö¯C and 399 Ö¯C. The composite's activation energy was established using the Coats-Redfern method. The results showed that the activation energy of 112.06 kJ/mol is utilized for the sample throughout the temperature range of 23 Ö¯C to 398 Ö¯C. A low activation energy is indicative of rapid chemical reactions between the CFF and PLA molecules. The results from TGA and DTGA indicate that the addition of CFF in the PLA matrix enhanced the thermal stability.

In 2018, the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Saudi Arabia developed a clinical excellence strategy. An objective was to reduce variation in clinical practices in MoH hospitals, particularly for conditions with high mortality in Saudi Arabia, by applying best practice clinical standards and using the clinical audit process to measure clinical practice. The strategy included working with multiprofessional teams in hospitals to implement improvements needed in clinical practice. To test the feasibility of carrying out national clinical audits in MoH hospitals, audits were carried out in 16 MoH hospitals on four clinical subjects-acute myocardial infarction, major trauma, sepsis, and stroke. Clinical expert groups, including Saudi clinicians and an international clinical expert, developed clinical care standards for the four conditions from analyses of international and Saudi clinical guidelines. The audits were designed with the expert groups. Multiprofessional teams were appointed to carry out the audits in designated MoH hospitals. Data collectors in each hospital were trained to collect data. Workshops were held with the teams on the clinical care standards and how data would be collected for the audits, and later, on the findings of data collection and how to use the improvement process to implement changes to improve compliance with the standards. After 4 months, data collection was repeated to determine if compliance with the clinical care standards had improved. Data collected from each hospital for both cycles of data collection were independently reliably tested. All designated hospitals participated in the audits, collecting and submitting data for two rounds of data collection and implementing improvement plans after the first round of data collection. All hospitals made substantial improvements in clinical practices. Of a total of 84 measures used to assess compliance with a total of 52 clinical care standards for the four clinical conditions, improvements were made by hospital teams in 58 (69.1%) measures. Improvements were statistically significant for 34 (40.5%) measures. The project demonstrated that well-designed and executed audits using evidence-based clinical care standards can result in substantial improvements in clinical practices in MoH hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Keys to success were the improvement methodology built into the audit process and the requirement for hospitals to appoint multiprofessional teams to carry out the audits. The approach adds to evidence on the effectiveness of clinical audits in achieving improvements in clinical quality and can be replicated in national audit programmes.

Background: The existence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in tuberculosis (TB) patients is very dangerous for the health of patients. One of the major concerns is the emergence of MDR-TB in such patients. It is suspected that the development of MDR-TB further worsens the treatment outcomes of TB such as treatment failure and thus, causes disease progression. Aim: To investigate the impact of DM on the Emergence of MDR-TB and Treatment Failure in TB-DM comorbid patients. Methodology: The PubMed database was systematically searched until April 03, 2022 (date last searched). Thirty studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in this study after a proper selection process. Results: Tuberculosis-Diabetes Mellitus patients were at higher risk to develop MDR-TB as compared to TB-non-DM patients (HR 0.81, 95% CI: 0.60-0.96, p < 0.001). Heterogeneity observed among included studies was moderate (I2 = 38%). No significant change was observed in the results after sub-group analysis by study design (HR 0.81, 95% CI: 0.61-0.96, p < 0.000). In the case of treatment failure, TB-DM patients were at higher risk to experience treatment failure rates as compared to TB-non-DM patients (HR 0.46, 95% CI: 0.27-0.67, p < 0.001). Conclusion: The results showed that DM had a significant impact on the emergence of MDR-TB in TB-diabetes comorbid patients as compared to TB-non-DM patients. DM enhanced the risk of TB treatment failure rates in TB-diabetes patients as compared to TB-non-DM patients. Our study highlights the need for earlier screening of MDR-TB, thorough MDR-TB monitoring, and designing proper and effective treatment strategies to prevent disease progression.

OBJECTIVE: We aimed to compare the effectiveness of three distinct counseling methods to determine the most effective approach. METHODS: In this prospective cohort study with a two-month follow-up, A group of non-smoking adults, aged 19-60 years, were randomly collected at outpatients clinic with prior asthma diagnosis, based on the forced expiratory volume in one seconds to forced vital capacity ratio (FEV1/FVC) and the guidelines outlined by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), At the baseline assessment, all patients, underwent FEV1/FVC measurements, asthma symptom evaluations using Asthma Control Test (ACT), Asthma Control Questionnaire (ACQ), and GINA symptoms control assessment questionnaire, and assessment of pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) usage. The patients were divided into three groups, each assigned a distinct counseling strategy: traditional verbal counseling, advanced counseling utilizing the Asthma smartphone-application, and a combination of advanced-verbal counseling. We conducted a two-month monitoring period for all three groups. RESULTS: Significant differences (p < .001) were observed among the three counseling groups in ACT, FEV1/FVC ratio, and GINA symptoms control assessment scores from the first month to the second month visit. Regarding ACQ, the study unveiled a noteworthy disparity in ACQ scores during the second week, with a significant difference (p = .025) observed between the verbal and advanced-verbal counseling groups. Similarly, a significant difference (p = .016) was noted between the advanced counseling group and the advanced-verbal counseling groups. CONCLUSION: The study findings indicate that the combining advanced-verbal counseling by incorporating the Asthma smartphone-application alongside traditional verbal counseling is a more effective approach for improving asthma control in adults.

The inappropriate prescribing of antimicrobials increases antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which poses an appreciable threat to public health, increasing morbidity and mortality. Inappropriate antimicrobial prescribing includes their prescribing in patients hospitalized with COVID-19, despite limited evidence of bacterial infections or coinfections. Knowledge of current antimicrobial utilization in Saudi Arabia is currently limited. Consequently, the objective of this study was to document current antimicrobial prescribing patterns among Saudi hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study included patients with or without COVID-19 who were admitted to five hospitals in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Data were gathered using the Global PPS methodology and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Out of 897 hospitalized patients, 518 were treated with antibiotics (57.7%), with an average of 1.9 antibiotics per patient. There were 174 culture reports collected, representing 36.5% of all cases. The most common indication for antibiotics use was community-acquired infections, accounting for 61.4% of all cases. 'Watch' antibiotics were the most commonly prescribed antibiotics, with the cephalosporins and carbapenems representing 38.7% of all antibiotics prescribed, followed by the penicillins (23.2%). Notably, Piperacillin/Tazobactam and Azithromycin were prescribed at relatively higher rates for COVID-19 patients. These findings highlight the need for continuous efforts to optimize the rational use of antibiotics through instigating appropriate antimicrobial stewardship programs in hospitals and, as a result, reduce AMR in the country.

Introduction: Maintaining continuity of care is one of the most critical components of providing great care in primary health care. This study aimed to explore continuity of care and its predictors in primary healthcare settings among patients with chronic diseases in Saudi Arabia. Method: Face-to-face cross-sectional interviews were conducted with patients with chronic diseases who had at least four visits to primary care facilities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between November 1, 2022 and March 3, 2023. We determined patients' continuity of care levels using the Bice-Boxerman continuity of care index. A Tobit regression model was used to determine the effects of several factors on the continuity of care index. Results: The interviews were conducted with 193 respondents with chronic diseases of interest. The mean continuity of care index of the entire sample was 0.54. Those with asthma had the highest median continuity of care index at 0.75 (interquartile range, 0.62-0.75), whereas those diagnosed with thyroid disease had a much lower continuity of care index (0.47) (interquartile range, 0.3-0.62). Tobit regression model findings showed that employed respondents with poorer general health had a negative effect on continuity of care index levels. By contrast, a higher continuity of care index was significantly associated with elderly respondents, urban residents, and those diagnosed with dyslipidemia, diabetes, hypertension, or asthma. Conclusions: According to our findings, the continuity of care level in Saudi Arabia's primary healthcare setting is low. The data demonstrate how continuity of care varies among study group characteristics and that improving continuity of care among chronic disease patients in Saudi Arabia is multifaceted and challenging, necessitating a coordinated and integrated healthcare delivery approach.

BACKGROUND: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disease characterized by exposure to threatened death or serious injury and directly experiencing or witnessing the event. Many healthcare professionals have had PTSD, but emergency physicians may be particularly susceptible. To our knowledge, no study has been performed in Saudi Arabia to identify the prevalence and associated risk factors of PTSD among emergency staff. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to determine the prevalence and risk factors of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among emergency healthcare workers (HCWs) in Saudi Arabia. METHODS: A cross-sectional analytical study will be conducted in emergency departments around Saudi Arabia in all regions. The study population will include healthcare workers in emergency departments who work and presently live in Saudi Arabia. The survey was divided into two sections. The first section focuses on the emergency personnel's demographic data; the second concentrates on screening for post-traumatic stress disorder using the PTSD checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5). RESULTS: Our population included 519 emergency healthcare staff, including males (51.4%) and females (48.6%). Most emergency HCWs worked in the Ministry of Health Hospitals (58%). The highest diagnosed psychological disorders among emergency staff were anxiety (19.3%) and mood disorders (10.2%). The prevalence of PTSD among emergency workers in Saudi Arabia was 14.1%. The prevalence of PTSD was significantly higher among emergency HCWs who had chronic diseases, emergency workers with anxiety or mood disorders, emergency staff who were using psychiatric medication (p<0.001), and those with psychotic disorders (p=0.002). CONCLUSION: The prevalence of PTSD among emergency healthcare workers in Saudi Arabia is estimated to be 14.1%, and pre-existing mental illnesses are associated with a higher risk of PTSD.

BACKGROUND: COVID-19 has been associated with olfactory dysfunction in many infected patients. The rise of calcium levels in the nasal secretions plays an essential role in the olfaction process with a desensitization effect on the olfactory receptor neurons and a negative impact on the olfaction transmission. Ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid (EDTA) is a chelating agent that can bind free calcium in the nasal secretions, thereby reducing the adverse effects of calcium on olfactory function. OBJECTIVES: The objective of this work is to demonstrate the effect of intranasal EDTA on improving olfactory dysfunction following COVID-19. METHODS: Fifty patients with a history of COVID-19 and olfactory dysfunction that persisted for more than 6 months were enrolled in the current prospective randomized clinical trial. Participants were randomized into 2 equal groups. Twenty-five patients were treated with olfactory training only, while the remaining 25 patients received treatment with olfactory training and a topical nasal spray of ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid. The olfactory function was assessed before treatment and 3 months later using the Sniffin' Sticks test. Additionally, the determination of calcium level in the nasal secretions was performed using an ion-selective electrode before treatment and 3 months later. RESULTS: Eighty-eight percent of the patients treated with olfactory training in addition to EDTA exhibited clinical improvement, while 60% showed improvement in patients treated with olfactory training only. Furthermore, a significant decrease in the measured calcium level in the nasal secretions was demonstrated after the use of ethylene diamine tetra compared to patients treated with olfactory training only. CONCLUSION: Ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid may be associated with an improvement of the olfactory function post-COVID-19.

The term hypnic jerks (also known as sleep starts or hypnagogic jerks) refers to a physiological phenomenon that accompanies sleep-wake transitions and can occur in healthy individuals of any age. Various physiological and stressful stimuli can precipitate hypnic jerks and contribute to their frequency and amplitude, e.g., stress, fatigue, stimulants like caffeine, and certain medications. Hypnic jerks are usually benign, but they can be intensified in certain situations, interfering with sleep onset and causing insomnia. Here we reported the case of a patient who suffered from intensified hypnic jerks that led to the development of major depressive disorder. Although the depressive symptoms improved on escitalopram 20 mg, the hypnic jerks increased significantly. Clonazepam was found to be very effective in reducing the hypnic jerks and stabilizing his condition.

Porous TiO2-doped polyaniline and polyaniline nanocomposite fibers prepared by the in situ polymerization technique using anionic surfactant in an ice bath were studied. The prepared nanocomposites were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and XRD patterns for structural analysis. The surface morphology of the polyaniline and its nanocomposites was examined using SEM images. DC conductivity shows the three levels of conductivity inherent in a semiconductor. Among the nanocomposites, the maximum DC conductivity is 5.6 S/cm for 3 wt.% polyaniline-TiO2 nanocomposite. Cyclic voltammetry shows the properties of PANI due to the redox peaks of 0.93 V and 0.24 V. Both peaks are due to the redox transition of PANI from the semiconductor to the conductive state. The hydrogen absorption capacity is approximately 4.5 wt.%, but at 60 °C the capacity doubles to approximately 7.3 wt.%. Conversely, 3 wt.% PANI-TiO2 nanocomposites have a high absorption capacity of 10.4 wt.% compared to other nanocomposites. An overall desorption capacity of 10.4 wt.% reduced to 96% was found for 3 wt.% TiO2-doped PANI nanocomposites.

OBJECTIVES: The regulation of various cellular functions such as growth, proliferation, metabolism, and angiogenesis, is dependent on the PI3K pathway. Recent evidence has indicated that kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) can be triggered by the deregulation of this pathway. The objective of this research was to investigate 25 genes associated with activation of the PI3K pathway in KIRC and control samples to identify four hub genes that might serve as novel molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets for treating KIRC. METHODS: Multi-omics in silico and in vitro analysis was employed to find hub genes related to the PI3K pathway that may be biomarkers and therapeutic targets for KIRC. RESULTS: Using STRING software, a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network of 25 PI3K pathway-related genes was developed. Based on the degree scoring method, the top four hub genes were identified using Cytoscape's Cytohubba plug-in. TCGA datasets, KIRC (786-O and A-498), and normal (HK2) cells were used to validate the expression of hub genes. Additionally, further bioinformatic analyses were performed to investigate the mechanisms by which hub genes are involved in the development of KIRC. Out of a total of 25 PI3K pathway-related genes, we developed and validated a diagnostic and prognostic model based on the up-regulation of TP53 (tumor protein 53) and CCND1 (Cyclin D1) and the down-regulation of PTEN (Phosphatase and TENsin homolog deleted on chromosome 10), and GSK3B (Glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta) hub genes. The hub genes included in our model may be a novel therapeutic target for KIRC treatment. Additionally, associations between hub genes and infiltration of immune cells can enhance comprehension of immunotherapy for KIRC. CONCLUSION: We have created a new diagnostic and prognostic model for KIRC patients that uses PI3K pathway-related hub genes (TP53, PTEN, CCND1, and GSK3B). Nevertheless, further experimental studies are required to ascertain the efficacy of our model.

Hajj pilgrimage is a large mass gathering global event that may facilitate the spread and emergence of various infectious diseases as well as antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in a local and global scenario. Planning and preparing for these public health issues is a challenging and complex process for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) health authorities. Despite multiple efforts for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through longtime funding in education and medical care, the prevalence of infectious disease is still high among Hajj pilgrims. The commonly observed infectious diseases during Hajj include respiratory tract infections (influenza and pneumonia), urinary tract infections and skin infections that may necessitate the use of antimicrobials. Beta-lactams are used as a first-line treatment for hospital acquired infections as well as community acquired infections due to their broad-spectrum activity. However, most of the bacterial isolates such as Staphylococcus spp., Pseudomonas spp. and E. coli are resistant to beta-lactams. Irrational use of antimicrobials, lack of infection prevention practices and suboptimal healthcare access further exacerbate the risk of spreading AMR among Hajj pilgrims. Enhanced collaboration between countries, sharing of best practices and international cooperation are crucial in addressing AMR threats among pilgrims. Consequently, robust surveillance systems for early detection and monitoring of AMR, collaboration with national as well as international healthcare agencies, effective infection prevention and control measures, public awareness and rational use of antimicrobials via antimicrobial stewardship programs are required to mitigate the risk of AMR and ensure the health and well-being of pilgrims during Hajj.

PURPOSE: We aimed to compare the impact of urethral transection after different techniques of bulbar urethroplasty on erectile function outcome. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the records for 245 patients who underwent different urethroplasty techniques for bulbar urethral stricture between February 2013 and January 2021. The comparison between the transecting and non-transecting cohorts included patients' demographics, clinicopathological features of the urethral stricture, post-urethroplasty erectile function, and success of urethroplasty. Outcomes were erectile function status verified by IIEF5-15 score at preoperative, three months, and 12 months post-surgery. We defined Post-urethroplasty ED as a decrease of 5 points or more. RESULTS: The urethroplasty success rate of the entire cohort was 86.9% after a mean follow-up of 45.59 ± 21 months. Out of 245 patients, 18 (7.3%) experienced 90-day complications. Transecting bulbar urethroplasty techniques were performed in 74 patients (30.2%), while non-transecting techniques were performed in 171 patients (69.8%). there were no differences between the cohorts regarding urethroplasty success (87.8% Vs. 86.5%, Mantel-Cox test p = 0.93) or postoperative complications (8.1% Vs. 7%, p = 0.73). Transient ED was evident in the transecting cohort as reported in 8.1% compared to 2.9% for the non-transecting (p = 0.07).Still, but de novo permanent ED was comparable (4.1% Vs. 2.9%, p = 0.65), for transecting and non-transecting, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Unfortunately, some patients who undergo transecting techniques of bulbar urethroplasty experience transient erectile dysfunction that can improve within the first post- urethroplasty year; however, de novo permanent erectile dysfunction is uncommon after different techniques of bulbar urethroplasty and is not predisposed by urethral transection.

The purpose of this report is to provide a comprehensive account of an exceptional case involving the presentation of congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) in a newborn. Furthermore, it aims to document the successful regression of CRS through medical treatment alone. We present the case of a five-day-old infant who was referred to our facility as a CRS case. The patient presented with bilateral white corneal opacity, which was observed shortly after birth. The mother was diagnosed as rubella-positive during pregnancy. Upon the initial examination under anesthesia, both eyes exhibited central white corneal opacity accompanied by large intrastromal cysts. Although a few breaks in Descemet's membrane were observed in both eyes, there were no signs of vascularization or the presence of iridocorneal or lenticular-corneal adhesions. After undergoing medical treatment consisting of topical sodium chloride and steroids, the cysts in both eyes completely regressed. Subsequently, the patient underwent penetrating keratoplasty to further address the dense scar. This case enhances our comprehension of ophthalmological complications associated with CRS and provides valuable insights into alternative therapeutic approaches for corneal stromal cysts.

The focus of hospitality initially was on ambience and novelty to attract customers. With the rise of the digital revolution, the hospitality industry has also undergone significant change. Long-distance travel at the workplace, odd working hours, and a variety of food options have driven people staying in Indian metropolises towards online food delivery (OFD) services. The popularity of OFD services has risen because of their practicality, simplicity, and a rise in consumer confidence in digital payments. Specifically, for the food industry, digitalization has opened new horizons to capture customers. The competition is not among the big brands, but big brands are competing with homemakers who run tiffin services, and street food hawkers who claim to provide traditional Dhaba-style food and fast food. The customers are loaded with unlimited options to choose the food in terms of price, cuisine, quality, etc. The present research examines the associations between service quality of OFD services, perceived ease of use, and word-of-mouth review adoption, leading to expectation confirmation modeling. The path analysis was carried out using data from 500 Indian respondents residing in Tier-I cities who have been using OFD services regularly. The research outcome shows that servqual has a positive influence on perceived ease of use and confirmation. Additionally, it encourages continued usage intentions because of its favorable impact on the adoption of e-word-of-mouth reviews.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC) is the 6th most common cancer around the globe; its underlying molecular mechanisms and accurate molecular markers are still lacking. In this study, we explored hub genes and their potential signaling pathways through which these genes participate in the development of HNSC. The GSE23036 gene microarray dataset was attained from the GEO (Gene Expression Omnibus) database. Hub genes were identified via the Cytohubba plug-in application of the Cytoscape. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) datasets and cell lines (HOK and FuDu) were used to evaluate expression variations in the hub genes. Moreover, promoter methylation, genetic alteration, gene enrichment, miRNA network, and immunocyte infiltration analysis were also performed to confirm the oncogenic role and biomarker potential of the hub genes in HNSC patients. Based on the hub gene analysis results, four hub genes, including KNTC1 (Kinetochore Associated 1), CEP55 (Centrosomal protein of 55 kDa), AURKA (Aurora A Kinase), and ECT2 (Epithelial Cell Transforming 2), with the highest degree scores were denoted as hub genes. All these four genes were significantly up-regulated in HNSC clinical samples and cell lines relative to their counterparts. Overexpression of KNTC1, CEP55, AURKA, and ECT2 was also associated with poor survival and various clinical parameters of the HNSC patients. Methylation analysis through targeted bisulfite sequencing of HOK and FuDu cell lines revealed that the overexpression of KNTC1, CEP55, AURKA, and ECT2 hub genes was due to their promoter hypomethylation. Moreover, higher expressions of KNTC1, CEP55, AURKA, and ECT2 were positively correlated with the abundance of the CD4+ T cells and macrophage while with the reduction of CD8+ T cells in HNSC samples. Finally, gene enrichment analysis showed that all hub genes are involved in "nucleoplasm, centrosome, mitotic spindle, and cytosol" pathways. In conclusion, the KNTC1, CEP55, AURKA, and ECT2 genes could be potential biomarkers for HNSC patients and provide a novel insight into the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
