RESUMO

THE OBJECTIVE: Is to develop a differential approach to determining the severity of harm caused to health in case of depressed skull injuries in infants, depending on their morphological features and the character of required treatment. The material included data from literature sources on the study of brain injuries in infants, clinical guidelines, describing the features of clinical picture and diagnosis of depressed skull fractures in infants and legal and regulatory framework of forensic medical evaluation of harm caused to health in injury. The following methods of research were used: logical-analytical, logical-synthetic (generalization), comparative, system-analytical (analysis of relations between facts) and radiological method. An algorithm for determining the severity of harm caused to health in depressed skull deformations by «ping-pong¼ type in an infant is proposed for discussion. The algorithm is based on the data from injury imaging techniques, including X-ray computed tomography, takes into account the clinical picture and the availability of indications for surgical treatment, and will allow to objectively assess the severity of harm caused to health in such cases.

RESUMO

The objective of this study was to evaluate the possibility and effectiveness of using laser-assisted scanning confocal microscopy for the detection of foreign particles in internal organ tissues for the purpose of forensic medical diagnosis of fatal cases of acute and chronic drug intoxication. Lung tissue samples stained with hematoxylin and eosin exhibited autofluorescent foreign particles localized in vascular lumen. Microphotographs and autofluorescence spectral profiles of the examined tissues are presented.

RESUMO

The influence of dimephosphone at concentrations of 0.001 M-0.75 M on the chemiluminescence of tissues at the focus of purulent infection in the ear of a guinea pig, on the survival rate of the experimental animals injected with the lethal dose of Staphylococcus aureus, as well as on the spontaneous and stimulated chemiluminescence of blood neutrophils in patients with wound infection, was studied. The study showed that different concentrations of dimephosphone oppositely influenced the intensity of the chemiluminescence of neutrophil suspensions and tissues at the focus of infection: low concentrations were found to produce stimulating action and high concentrations, suppressive action. At the highest concentration used in this study (0.75 M) dimephosphone prevented the death of the animals receiving lethal doses of S. aureus.

RESUMO

Antimicrobial activity of partial degradation products of eremomycin, a new glycopeptide antibiotic, was studied. The products formed by eremomycin deglycosylation (deseremosaminyl eremomycin, eremosaminyl aglycone and aglycone) and elimination of the chlorine atom from the molecule aglycone moiety (dechloroeremomycin). The spectral data in favour of the compounds structure are presented. It was found that partial degradation led to a decrease in the antimicrobial activity of the antibiotic. Dechloreremomycin had the highest activity among the products. Its MIC for the methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus was only twice as low as that of the initial antibiotic.

RESUMO

Methyl, benzyl and diphenylmethyl esters of the glycopeptide antibiotic eremomycin were obtained by its treatment with corresponding diazoalkanes. The esters have high antibacterial activity but are less active than the parent antibiotic.

RESUMO

A series of phenylthiourea and ethylthiourea derivatives of daunorubicin and its congeners was prepared by reaction of the 3'-amino group of the antibiotic with phenylisothiocyanate or ethylisothiocyanate. S-Methylation yielded S-methylisothiouromium salts which when reacted with amines resulted in an intramolecular cyclization with the participation of the neighboring 4'-OH group. The structures and predominant conformations of the thiourea derivatives and daunorubicino(3'-N,4'-O-d)oxazolines were determined by 1H and 13C NMR. Cytostatic activities of the thiourea and oxazoline derivatives were compared with the cytostatic activities of N-methylurea and N-methyl-N-nitrosourea containing daunorubicin and its congeners. Carminomycin derivatives were endowed with the highest cytostatic activity.

RESUMO

Peculiarities of accumulation and excretion of different phosphor-organic pesticides from stomach wall at peroral introduction in LD50 dose. The data on dependence of pesticide LD50 on the rate of accumulation is stomach wall, the time of their biological lifetime, the direction of metabolism, and content of intact pesticides in liver tissues have been presented.

RESUMO

Streptomyces grisoruber strain 1618-306 produces three types of anthracycline antibiotics, derivatives of epsilon-pyrromycinone (methyl (7S, 9R, 10R)-9-ethyl-5,7,8,9,10,12-hexahydro-1,4,6,7,9-pentahydroxy-5,12-di oxo-10- naphthacenecarboxylate), epsilon-1-hydroxyauramycinone and epsilon-1-hydroxysulfurmycinone, differing in C-9 substituent in D ring of anthracyclines (Et, Met or CH2COCH3, respectively). Besides 7-O-glycosides of these aglycones, complex of antibiotics contains corresponding 7-deoxy- and 7,8,9,10-bisanhydroanthracyclinones.

RESUMO

For preparing new semisynthetic analogs of anthracycline antibiotics, hydrolysis of 13-dimethylketals of 14-bromrubomycin and 14-brom-arminomycin in solution of diluted hydrochloric acid was studied. It was shown that such hydrolysis yielded 14-chlorrubomycin and 14-chlorcarminomycin. Conditions for separating the mixture of 14-chlor- and 14-bromrubomycins and the mixture of 14-chlor- and 14-bromcarminomycins by HPLC were developed. Interaction of 14-chlorine derivatives of rubomycin and carminomycin with potassium formate in the presence of the crown ether yielded 14-formyloxy derivatives of rubomycin and carminomycin. Interaction of rubomycin and carminomycin with formic acid in the presence of N-oxysuccinimide and dicyclohexylcarbodiimide resulted in formation of N-formyl derivatives of rubomycin and carminomycin.

RESUMO

A three component system for separating a mixture of carminomycin, carminomycinone and 13-dihydrocarminomycinone by HPLC was developed. Spherisorb ODS Column, 4.6 X 250 mm, the particle size of 10 micron was used. The impact of the mobile phase composition, temperature during chromatography and buffer solution pH on the capacity factors K' for every of the above compounds was studied. For determining purity of carminomycin dosage forms the procedure with an external standard was applied. The procedure provides routine quantitative assay of carminomycin hydrochloride dosage forms.

RESUMO

Octamycin, an original polyenic antibiotic was developed. The antibiotic is of an amphoteric character. The number and nature of the functional groups were determined by potentiometric titration. It was shown that the antibiotic contained the neutral sugar galactose. The equivalent weight of the antibiotic (990) was measured by potentiometric titration and the content of the sugar in the molecule. With high performance liquid chromatography it was demonstrated that the antibiotic consisted of 2 components at a ratio of 1:2. The molecular weights of the components were evaluated with mass spectrometry.

RESUMO

A new three-component system was developed for separation of a mixture containing 6 components: doxorubicin, rubomycin, dihydrorubomycin, 14-bromrubomycin, doxorubicinone and rubomycinone. The system uses reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography. Separation was performed on a column with Spherisorb C18 (4.6 X 250 mm) with the particle size of 10 microns. Relationships between the capacity factor k1 for the above 6 components and relative arresting alpha for 3 hardly separating components: doxorubicin, rubomycinone and dihydrorubomycin, as well as between the percentage content of the organic component, acetonitrile and the percentage content of the buffer solution were studied. The external standard method was used for determination of purity of doxorubicin standard preparations. The method provides routine quantitative assay of doxorubicin hydrochloride.
