Background and Aim: Adequate bowel preparation is necessary for optimal colonoscopy. Inadequate bowel preparation results in increased costs and imprecise colonoscopy results. This study aims to determine the incidence and risk factors of inadequate bowel preparation. Methods: In this study, 604 consecutive patients were observed prospectively who underwent colonoscopy examination. The patient's clinical and demographic data were obtained on the day of the procedure. Bowel preparation was evaluated by Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (BBPS) and was divided into two groups; adequate and inadequate. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed. Results: Inadequate bowel preparation incidence was 17.9%. In the univariate analysis, education level (P value = 0.009), body mass index (P value = 0.03), admission type (P value = 0.038), previous history of colonoscopy (P value = 0.03), color and consistency of the last feces (P value = 0.03), diabetes (P value = 0.004), and smoking (P value = 0.03) were significantly related with the incidence of inadequate bowel preparation. While ischemic heart disease (IHD) decreased the level of inadequate bowel preparation (P value = 0.047). Multivariate analysis showed that diabetes mellitus (odds ratio [OR] = 2.18), smoking (OR = 2.10), inpatient status of admission type (OR = 3.32), last stool that was non-watery (OR = 1.60), and ischemic heart disease (OR = 0.032) were independent factors associated with inadequate bowel preparation. Conclusion: Diabetic patients, smokers, inpatients and who defecated a non-watery and colory stool as the last defecation are at risk of inadequate bowel preparation and need more potent regimens. It is important to inform patients about preventable factors that affect bowel preparation to improve their preparation outcomes.

Background: In 1995, the World Health Organization launched its Global School Health Initiative intending to expand this health promotion approach throughout schools globally. In this study, we aim to assess the preparedness of preschools in the adoption of intervention packages under the Nutrition Friendly School Initiative (NFSI) checklist. Methods: From three campuses of the Aga Khan School located in the Thatta and Sujawal districts of the Sindh province, Pakistan, all eligible preschool children were selected for this study. Using a pre-and post-intervention design, we assessed preschool preparedness using the NFSI checklist, knowledge of parents/caregivers regarding health and nutrition promoting behaviors, and anthropometric measurements (i.e., mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), weight, and height) for preschool children. The NFSI checklist was analyzed with differential scores, while descriptive statistics were used for anthropometric and knowledge data. Continuous variables (i.e., height, weight, MUAC) were presented as means, while categorical variables (knowledge) were expressed as numbers and percentages. Paired t-tests for dependent samples were used to statistically assess mean differences in MUAC, height, weight, height-for-age Z-score, weight-for-age Z-score, weight-for-height Z-score, and changes in parental knowledge of preschool children. Results: Data from 164 preschool children (ages 24-84 months, mean age 56.7 months) were analyzed over 3 months. School preparedness scores improved from 10 to 22 points (out of 26). Parental knowledge on nutrition and health increased by 7.2 points (out of 25). Children showed mean increases in MUAC (0.27 cm), weight (0.36 kg), and height (0.62 cm) (p < 0.001). Stunting and overweight/obesity rates remained the same (7.3 and 4.3%), while underweight and wasting rates dropped from 10.4 to 7.3% and 7.9 to 6.1%, respectively. The initiative effectively reduced underweight and wasting but did not impact stunting and overweight. Conclusion: The NFSI has greatly enhanced preschool readiness for nutrition-friendly schools. Engaging the private sector in addressing nutritional challenges has paved the way for future public-private partnerships to tackle malnutrition. The nutrition policy formulated through this initiative could serve as a blueprint for a National School Nutrition Policy.

Gastric cancer remains a significant health challenge despite advancements in diagnosis and treatment. Early detection is critical to reducing mortality, necessitating the investigation of molecular mechanisms underlying gastric cancer progression. This study focuses on BRD4 expression and its correlation with miR-26a-3p, DLG5-AS1, and JMJD1C-AS1 lncRNAs in gastric cancer. Analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets revealed significant upregulation of BRD4 in gastric cancer tissues compared to normal tissues, correlating negatively with miR-26a-3p and positively with DLG5-AS1 and JMJD1C-AS1 lncRNAs. Quantitative RT-PCR confirmed these findings in 25 gastric cancer tissue samples and 25 normal samples. BRD4's overexpression was associated with reduced survival rates and older patient age. MiR-26a-3p, a known tumor suppressor, showed decreased expression in gastric cancer tissues, with ROC analysis suggesting it, alongside BRD4, as a potential diagnostic biomarker. Additionally, bioinformatics predicted miR-26a-3p's interaction with BRD4 mRNA. Upregulated lncRNAs DLG5-AS1 and JMJD1C-AS1 likely act as competing endogenous RNAs, sponging miR-26a-3p, thus promoting BRD4 dysregulation. These lncRNAs have not been previously studied in gastric cancer. The findings propose a novel BRD4/lncRNA/miRNA regulatory axis in gastric cancer, highlighting the potential of BRD4, DLG5-AS1, and JMJD1C-AS1 as biomarkers for early diagnosis. Further studies with larger sample sizes and in vivo and in vitro experiments are needed to elucidate this regulatory mechanism's role in gastric cancer progression.

Gene therapy is a therapeutic option for mitigating diseases that do not respond well to pharmacological therapy. This type of therapy allows for correcting altered and defective genes by transferring nucleic acids to target cells. Notably, achieving a desirable outcome is possible by successfully delivering genetic materials into the cell. In-vivo gene transfer strategies use two major classes of vectors, namely viral and nonviral. Both of these systems have distinct pros and cons, and the choice of a delivery system depends on therapeutic objectives and other considerations. Safe and efficient gene transfer is the main feature of any delivery system. Spherical nucleic acids (SNAs) are nanotechnology-based gene delivery systems (i.e., non-viral vectors). They are three-dimensional structures consisting of a hollow or solid spherical core nanoparticle that is functionalized with a dense and highly organized layer of oligonucleotides. The unique structural features of SNAs confer them a high potency in internalization into various types of tissue and cells, a high stability against nucleases, and efficay in penetrating through various biological barriers (such as the skin, blood-brain barrier, and blood-tumor barrier). SNAs also show negligible toxicity and trigger minimal immune response reactions. During the last two decades, all these favorable physicochemical and biological attributes have made them attractive vehicles for drug and nucleic acid delivery. This article discusses the unique structural properties, types of SNAs, and also optimization mechanisms of SNAs. We also focus on recent advances in the synthesis of gene delivery nanoplatforms based on the SNAs.

As an aggressive malignancy, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common type of brain tumor. The existing treatments have shown limited achievement in increasing the overall survival of patients. Therefore, identifying the key molecules involved in GBM will provide new potential therapeutic targets. Carmustine is an alkylating agent used as a supplementary therapeutic option for GBM. However, the extensive use of carmustine has been limited by uncertainty about its efficacy. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are essential in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Many aberrantly expressed miRNAs have been detected in various types of human cancer, including GBM. In this study, we evaluated the potential therapeutic effect of miR-143 in combination with carmustine on GBM cells. A172 cells were transfected with miR-143 mimics and then treated with carmustine. To assess the cell viability, apoptosis induction, and cell cycle progression, the MTT assay, Annexin V/PI apoptosis assay, and flow cytometry were used, respectively. Furthermore, qRT-PCR assay was applied to evaluate the expression level of genes related to apoptosis. The obtained results evidenced that miR-143 transfection could promote the sensitivity of A172 cells to carmustine and enhance carmustine-induced apoptosis via modulating the expression levels of Caspase-3, Caspase-9, Bax, and Bcl-2. Also, our results revealed that combination therapy could effectively diminish cell cycle progression in A172 cells. In conclusion, these results confirmed that miR-143 could enhance carmustine-mediated suppression of cell proliferation and improve the chemosensitivity of A172 cells to this chemotherapeutic agent. Therefore, miR-143 combination therapy may be a promising GBM treatment approach.

This study examines the effect of phycoerythrin (PE) from a cyanobacterial Nostoc strain encapsulated with alginate as a potential prebiotic to produce synbiotic ice cream products with Lactobacillus casei. It was found that the addition of the encapsulated PE affected, mostly favourably, the physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, probiotic survival, volatile compound contents, and sensory acceptability of the synbiotic ice cream samples before and after aging at the freezing periods of one day to eight weeks. Thus, it confirms the prebiotic potential of PE for synbiotic ice creams with L. casei.

BACKGROUND: Almost half of patients with Crohn's disease (CD) require bowel surgeries in their lifetime. Due to the high risk of postoperative disease recurrence and high rate of previous antitumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) failure, often alternative therapy options such as ustekinumab (UST) and vedolizumab (VDZ) are used. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of UST and VDZ among postoperative CD patients as postoperative prophylaxis and rescue therapy. METHODS: Consented CD patients who underwent initial ileocecal resection and were treated with UST and VDZ were included in this study. Demographics, clinical characteristics, health care utilization, endoscopy scores, and surgery outcomes were collected. Postoperative early CD recurrence was defined as a Rutgeerts endoscopic score ≥i2 within the first 2 years. The rescue therapy group was defined as patients who received either UST or VDZ after having Rutgeerts endoscopic score ≥i2 postoperatively. RESULTS: During 2009 to 2019, 98 CD patients were treated with UST or VDZ postoperatively. Postoperative early recurrence rates were 5% (n = 1 out of 20) and 6% (1 out of 15) for the UST and VDZ groups, respectively. Two patients from the UST group and 1 patient from the VDZ group required bowel surgery during follow-up with median drug exposure of 51 (95% confidence interval [CI], 29-61) and 30 (95% CI, 14-63) months, respectively; 55% and 69% of patients had at least 1 point of improvement on postoperative endoscopic Rutgeerts score, respectively, for UST and VDZ. Only 3 out of 40 and 1 out of 23 patients required bowel surgery during follow-up while receiving UST and VDZ as rescue therapy. CONCLUSIONS: Both UST and VDZ were effective as postoperative therapies either as prophylaxis or rescue therapy.


This retrospective 11-year data examines the efficacy of ustekinumab and vedolizumab among postoperative Crohn's disease patients. When utilizing postoperative Rutgeerts score, this study confirms that both ustekinumab and vedolizumab were effective as postoperative therapies either as prophylaxis or rescue therapy.

The Hippo signaling pathway has a regulatory function in the organogenesis process and cellular homeostasis, switching the cascade reactions of crucial kinases acts to turn off/on the Hippo pathway, altering the downstream gene expression and thereby regulating proliferation, apoptosis, or stemness. Disruption of this pathway can lead to the occurrence of various disorders and different types of cancer. Recent findings highlight the importance of ncRNAs, such as microRNA, circular RNA, and lncRNAs, in modulating the Hippo pathway. Defects in ncRNAs can disrupt Hippo pathway balance, increasing tumor cells, tumorigenesis, and chemotherapeutic resistance. This review summarizes ncRNAs' inhibitory or stimulatory role in - Hippo pathway regulation in cancer and stem cells. Identifying the relation between ncRNAs and the components of this pathway could pave the way for developing new biomarkers in the treatment and diagnosis of cancers.

Background: Cancer is among the serious health problems of the medical world, for treatment of which severe treatments are used. However, the prognosis of cancer patients is still poor. The application of NK cell-derived exosomes (NK-Exo) is a new method for cancer immunotherapy. These nanoparticles with a size range of 30-120 nm are a small model of mother cells. In this study, the anti-tumor activity of NK-Exo and LAK-Exo (activated NK cell-derived exosome) against acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is investigated in vitro. Materials and Methods: The MACS method was performed for the separation of NK cells from the buffy coats of healthy donors, and an EXOCIBE kit was used for the isolation of NK-Exo. After treating the KG-1 cell line with different doses of NK-Exo, MTT assay, and annexin V-PE were done to evaluate cell proliferation and apoptosis, respectively, and for confirmation of involved proteins, Real-Time PCR and western blotting were performed. Results: Anti-tumor activity of NK-Exo and LAK-Exo was dose- and time-dependent. Their highest activities were observed following 48 hours of incubation with 50 µg/ml exosome (p<0.0001). However, this cytotoxic activity was also seen over a short period of time with low concentrations of NK-Exo (p<0.05) and LAK-Exo (p<0.001).The cytotoxic effect of LAK-Exo on target cells was significantly higher than NK-EXO. The induction of apoptosis by different pathways was time-point dependent. Total apoptosis was 34.56% and 51.6% after 48 hours of tumor cell coculture with 50µg/ml NK-Exo and LAK-Exo, respectively. Significant expression of CASPASE3, P38, and CYTOCHROME C genes was observed in the cells treated with 50 µg/ml NK-Exo and LAK-Exo. Conclusion: Our study confirmed the antileukemia activity of NK-Exo against AML tumor cells in vitro. Therefore, NK-Exo can be considered as a promising and effective treatment for leukemia therapy.

Background: Beta-thalassemia major patients frequently have endocrinopathies. We tried to determine relation between demographic and transfusion factor and endocrinopathies. Methods: Major beta-thalassemia patients (n=114 cases), 3-38 yr of age, entered this study. Female to male ratio was 51/63. Children (less than 20 yr) formed 57% of participants. Information about bone mineral density (BMD) and hormonal and biochemistry blood evaluation including fasting blood sugar (FBS), ferritin, triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4) and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), testosterone (males), and estradiol (females) entered data sheet. Results: Sex and ferritin level showed no significant correlation with above disorders. Age significantly correlated to short stature, diabetes, low BMD at femur and neck (P, 0.031, 0.008, 0.009 and <0.001, respectively) . The risk of short stature had increased in 12 yr and older patients 7.71 times than younger patients (P= 0.008). The risk of diabetes had increased in 35 yr and older patients 26.25 times than younger patients (P= 0.03). The risk of Z-score ≤ -2 in femoral region has increased in 19 yr and older patients 5.84 times than younger patients (P= 0.002). The risk of Z-score ≤ -2 in spinal region has increased in 14 yr and older patients 17 times than younger patients (P= 0.007). Conclusion: The main factor related with endocrinopathies was age. The correlation between age and short stature, diabetes and low BMD was positive. Therefore, we recommend early monitoring of thalassemia patients (in their late childhood and early teenage) for these complications.

The current research aimed to shed light on the efficacy of Escherichia coli strain Nissle 1917 (EcN) on goldfish (……) growth, gut immunity, morphology, bacterial nutritional enzyme activity and resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila infection. Fish fed with EcN at 106, 107 and 108 CFU/g feed for 80 days showed an enhancement in growth better than control fish. The gut innate immunity in terms of lysozyme activity, immunoglobulin and total protein levels was increased in the treatment fish with the best result being observed in fish fed EcN at 108 CFU/ g. In addition, an increase was noted in the upregulation of immune-relevant genes, namely lysozyme, interleukin-1ß, inducible nitric oxide synthase and tumor necrosis factor α of fish intestine. A marked surge in the number of proteolytic and heterotrophic bacteria was noted in the gut of fish nourished with the probiotic. Histological studies exhibited an improvement in the intestinal absorption surface area, intraepithelial lymphocyte count and goblet cell density. Significantly higher survival rate was obtained in fish fed EcN at 108 CFU/g compared with the fish fed with the basal diet. These data exhibited the beneficial effect of EcN on goldfish growth, digestive enzymes, intestine heterotrophic bacteria and resistance against Aeromonas hydrophila challenge. This study confirmed the favorable outcomes resulting from the administration of EcN at108 CFU/g.

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of educational patient pamphlets created by ChatGPT, a large language model, for common interventional radiology (IR) procedures. METHODS AND MATERIALS: Twenty frequently performed IR procedures were selected, and five users were tasked to independently request ChatGPT to generate educational patient pamphlets for each procedure using identical commands. Subsequently, two independent radiologists assessed the content, quality, and accuracy of the pamphlets. The review focused on identifying potential errors, inaccuracies, the consistency of pamphlets. RESULTS: In a thorough analysis of the education pamphlets, we identified shortcomings in 30% (30/100) of pamphlets, with a total of 34 specific inaccuracies, including missing information about sedation for the procedure (10/34), inaccuracies related to specific procedural-related complications (8/34). A key-word co-occurrence network showed consistent themes within each group of pamphlets, while a line-by-line comparison at the level of users and across different procedures showed statistically significant inconsistencies (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: ChatGPT-generated education pamphlets demonstrated potential clinical relevance and fairly consistent terminology; however, the pamphlets were not entirely accurate and exhibited some shortcomings and inter-user structural variabilities. To ensure patient safety, future improvements and refinements in large language models are warranted, while maintaining human supervision and expert validation.

Diamond-Blackfan anaemia (DBA), first described over 80 years ago, is a congenital disorder of erythropoiesis with a predilection for birth defects and cancer. Despite scientific advances, this chronic, debilitating, and life-limiting disorder continues to cause a substantial physical, psychological, and financial toll on patients and their families. The highly complex medical needs of affected patients require specialised expertise and multidisciplinary care. However, gaps remain in effectively bridging scientific discoveries to clinical practice and disseminating the latest knowledge and best practices to providers. Following the publication of the first international consensus in 2008, advances in our understanding of the genetics, natural history, and clinical management of DBA have strongly supported the need for new consensus recommendations. In 2014 in Freiburg, Germany, a panel of 53 experts including clinicians, diagnosticians, and researchers from 27 countries convened. With support from patient advocates, the panel met repeatedly over subsequent years, engaging in ongoing discussions. These meetings led to the development of new consensus recommendations in 2024, replacing the previous guidelines. To account for the diverse phenotypes including presentation without anaemia, the panel agreed to adopt the term DBA syndrome. We propose new simplified diagnostic criteria, describe the genetics of DBA syndrome and its phenocopies, and introduce major changes in therapeutic standards. These changes include lowering the prednisone maintenance dose to maximum 0·3 mg/kg per day, raising the pre-transfusion haemoglobin to 9-10 g/dL independent of age, recommending early aggressive chelation, broadening indications for haematopoietic stem-cell transplantation, and recommending systematic clinical surveillance including early colorectal cancer screening. In summary, the current practice guidelines standardise the diagnostics, treatment, and long-term surveillance of patients with DBA syndrome of all ages worldwide.

Gastric cancer, as the fifth most frequent disease and the fourth foremost cause of cancer-related death worldwide, remains a main clinical challenge due to its poor prognosis, limited treatment choices, and ability to metastasize. Combining siRNAs to suppress lncRNA with chemotherapeutic medications is a novel treatment approach that eventually increases the therapeutic efficacy of the drug while lessening its adverse effects. This study was performed with the purpose of examining the impact of inhibiting DLGAP1-AS2 expression on gastric cancer cells' drug chemosensitivity. AGS cells were cultured as the study cell line and were transfected with an optimum dose of DLGAP1-AS2 siRNA and then treated with oxaliplatin. Cell viability was examined using the MTT technique. Apoptosis and cell cycle were evaluated using Annexin V/PI staining and flow cytometry. Later, the scratch test was conducted to investigate the ability of cells to migrate, and the inhibition of the stemness of AGS cells was further investigated through the colony formation method. Finally, the qRT-PCR technique was used to assess the expression of Bax, Bcl-2, Caspase-3, p53, MMP-2, and CD44 genes. The MTT test indicated the effect of gene therapy with siRNA and oxaliplatin in combination reduced the chemotherapy drug dose to 29.92 µM and increased AGS cells' sensitivity to oxaliplatin. Also, the combination therapy caused a significant increase in apoptosis. However, it reduced the stemness feature, the rate of cell viability, proliferation, and metastasis compared to the effect of each treatment alone; the results also showed the arrest of the cell cycle in the Sub G1 phase after the combined treatment and a further reduction in the number and size of the formed colonies. Suppressing the expression of lncRNA DLGAP1-AS2 by siRNA followed by treatment with oxaliplatin can be utilized as an effective and new therapeutic technique for gastric cancer therapy.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: To evaluate the efficacy of intravitreal aflibercept for UME (uveitic macular). METHODS: A retrospective review of records of patients that received aflibercept for UME from January 2017 to August 2022 was conducted. The primary outcomes were mean change in visual acuity (VA) and central subfield thickness (CST) 6 and 12 months from the start of aflibercept treatment. RESULTS: A total of 16 eyes of 12 patients were included. Indications for treatment included eyes that had previously demonstrated a history of elevated intraocular pressure secondary to a steroid response (n = 10) or a history of non-response or partial response to local corticosteroids (n = 6). Fifteen eyes (94%) demonstrated a reduction in CST after their initial injection. At 6-months, mean VA gain was 2.6 ± 7.7 letters (p = 0.24) from a mean VA of 67.8 ± 10.7 letters at baseline and mean CST improved by 97.6 ± 113.5 µm (p = 0.004) from 458.6 ± 123.1 µm at baseline. Fourteen eyes had 12-months of follow up and received a median of 4 injections over 12 visits. The mean VA at 12-months remained stable compared to baseline (mean change of -1.4 ± 12.5 letters (p = 0.87)) while the CST improved by a mean of 90.9 ± 114.6 µm (p = 0.053) compared to baseline. CONCLUSION: Intravitreal aflibercept injections resulted in reduced central subfield thickness at all time-points. It appears to be an effective treatment alternative for UME, particularly for patients who are not responsive to local corticosteroids or who have contraindications to corticosteroid treatment.

Deformational plagiocephaly, deformational brachycephaly, and deformational scaphocephaly are the most common types of skull deformities during the first year of life. Using a cranial remolding orthosis (CRO) can have an important role in achieving a satisfactory level of improvement in symmetry and proportion of the deformed skulls. However, there is no consensus on the most important parameters for the success or length of treatment with a CRO. In this study, we did a systematic literature review in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and EMBASE on January 2023. Titles/abstracts of the found studies were screened by two independent reviewers. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used to evaluate the quality of the included articles. The best evidence synthesis was considered to determine the strength of the reported factors. A total of 25 articles with an accumulated sample of 7594 participants were included. Nine predictive factors, including age at initiation of CRO treatment, CRO compliance, deformity severity, deformity type, torticollis, gestational age, gestational type, delivery method, and developmental delay, were considered for CRO treatment length or success. Moderate evidence suggests that CRO treatment length is linked to a patient's age at the start of treatment and the deformity severity. Moreover, treatment success is correlated with a patient's age at the start of treatment, CRO compliance, and deformity severity. Moderate evidence indicates that there is no relationship between the presence of torticollis and gestational age with CRO treatment success.

The damask rose (Rosa damascena Mill.) is an ornamental-medicinal plant from the Rosaceae family, and its aromatic compounds and essential oils are applied globally in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. Due to its economic value, this research aimed to establish a protocol for an efficient, rapid, and cost-effective method for in vitro shoot multiplication and rooting of the R. damascena 'Kashan' and 'Hervy Azerbaijan' genotypes. Nodal segments (as primary explants) were cultured on the Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with combinations of various plant growth regulators (PGRs) such as gibberellic acid (GA3), 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), and indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), as well as a PGR-like substance, phloroglucinol (PG), vitamins such as ascorbic acid (AA), and activated carbon in the form of active charcoal (AC). For the establishment stage, 0.1 mg·L-1 PG, 0.2 mg·L-1 GA3, and 1 mg·L-1 BAP were added to the media. Secondary explants (nodal segments containing axillary buds produced from primary explants) were obtained after 30 days of in vitro culture and transferred to the proliferation media supplemented with different concentrations of BAP (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5 mg·L-1) and GA3 (0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, and 1 mg·L-1) together with 0.1 mg·L-1 PG and 20 mg·L-1 of AA. The rooting media were augmented with different concentrations of BAP and GA3 with 0.1 mg·L-1 of IBA, PG and 20 mg·L-1 of AA and AC. The results showed that the highest regeneration coefficient (4.29 and 4.28) and the largest number of leaves (23.33-24.33) were obtained in the explants grown on the medium supplemented with 2 mg·L-1 BAP and 0.4 mg·L-1 GA3 for the 'Kashan' and 'Hervy Azerbaijan' genotypes, respectively. Likewise, this PGR combination provided the shortest time until bud break (approximately 6.5 days) and root emergence (approximately 10 days) in both genotypes. The highest number of shoots (4.78 per explant) and roots (3.96) was achieved in this medium in the 'Kashan' rose. Stem and root lengths, as well as stem and root fresh and dry weights, were also analyzed. In most measured traits, the lowest values were found in the PGRs-free control medium. Rooted plantlets were transferred to pots filled with perlite and peat moss in a 2:1 proportion and were acclimatized to ambient greenhouse conditions with a mean 90.12% survival rate. This research contributes significantly to our understanding of Damask rose propagation and has practical implications for the cosmetic and ornamental plant industries. By offering insights into the manipulation of regeneration processes, our study opens up new possibilities for the effective production of high-quality plant material.
