El síndrome aurículo-temporal o síndrome de Frey, es una entidad caracterizada por sudoración y enrojecimiento de la piel del territorio inervado por el nervio aurículo-temporal en relación con la masticación. Se presenta el caso de un paciente diagnosticado de hiperhidrosis hemifacial secundaria a síndrome de Frey, remitido desde otorrinolaringología a consulta de rehabilitación para valoración de tratamiento. Se decide tratamiento con toxina botulínica tipo A, con buena respuesta. Se hace una breve revisión del tratamiento con toxina botulínica en el síndrome de Frey, resaltando su efectividad y facilidad de aplicación

Auriculotemporal syndrome, or Frey syndrome, is characterised by sweating and redness of the skin in the area innervated by the auriculotemporal nerve during chewing. We report the case of a patient diagnosed with hemifacial hyperhidrosis secondary to Frey syndrome who was referred by the otorhinolaryngology service to the rehabilitation service for treatment assessment. The patient was treated with botulinum toxin with good response. We provide a brief review of botulinum toxin treatment in Frey syndrome, highlighting its effectiveness and ease of application

Implicación de la termografía en el diagnóstico de la distrofia simpático refleja: a propósito de un caso / Implication of the thermografy in the diagnosis of the sympathetic reflex dystrophy: with regard to a clinic case

La Distrofia Simpático Refleja o Síndrome Regional Complejo tipo I es una patología de difícil diagnóstico y tratamiento especialmente debido al desconocimiento que existe sobre la fisiopatogenia de la enfermedad, y que puede tener consecuencias graves. En el siguiente artículo describimos un caso de distrofia simpático refleja de 5 meses de evolución de origen postraumático. Mujer de 45 años diagnosticada de este síndrome tras sufrir fractura de 5º metacarpiano de mano derecha. Aunque ninguna de las pruebas complementarias es definitiva, nosotros hemos realizado el seguimiento con termografía infrarroja, observando un paralelismo entre la mejoría clínica y termográfica en los tres primeros meses de tratamiento rehabilitador y farmacológico

Sympathetic Reflex Dystrophy or Complex Regional Syndrome Type I is pathology of difficult diagnostic and treatment especially due to the ignorance that exists on the physiopathogenicity of the disease, and that can have serious consequences. We presented/displayed the case of a woman of 45 years diagnosed of this syndrome after undergoing metacarpial fracture of 5º of right hand. Although no of the complementary test is definitive, we have made the pursuit with infrared thermography, observing a parallelism between the clinical and thermal improvement the three first months of physical therapy and medical treatment

Hacemos una revisión bibliográfica de una selección de artículos publicados que se refieren al tratamiento ortopédico de la escoliosis idiopática del adolescente. Resumimos estos trabajos y extraemos unas conclusiones. Pensamos que este trabajo puede ser de ayuda a la hora de afrontar la actitud terapéutica conservadora de la escoliosis idiopática del adolescente

A bibliographic review of the selection of articles published that refer to orthopedic treatment of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis has been performed. These works are summarized and conclusions are drawn. We consider that this work may be useful in the conservative therapeutic attitude of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis
