RESUMO

The Ion Source Hydrogen positive is a 2.7 GHz off-resonance microwave discharge ion source. It uses four coils to generate an axial magnetic field in the plasma chamber around 0.1 T that exceeds the ECR resonance field. A new magnetic system was designed as a combination of the four coils and soft iron in order to increase the reliability of the source. The description of the simulations of the magnetic field and the comparison with the magnetic measurements are presented. Moreover, results of the initial commissioning of the source for extraction voltage until 50 kV will be reported.

RESUMO

In this work the modeling and basic control design process of a rotary flexible spindle hovered by Active Magnetic Bearings (AMB) whose good capabilities for machine-tool industry extensively treated in the literature is presented. The modeling takes into account the three main behavioral characteristics of such magnetically-levitated rotor: the rigid dynamics, the flexible dynamics and the rotating unbalanced motion. Besides, the gyroscopic coupling is also studied proving that in this case, its effects are not significant and can be neglected. Using this model, a stabilizing controller based on symmetry properties is successfully designed for the system and a complete experimental analysis of its performance is carried out. Also, the predictions of the model are compared with the actual measured experimental results on a laboratory set-up based on the MBC500 Rotor Dynamics. Afterwards, a brief study about some nonlinear behavior observed in the system and its effect over the system stability at the critical speed is included.

RESUMO

El mantener el peso ideal en los pacientes en hemodialisis es una de las mayores preocupaciones para el nefrologo. El presente trabajo evaluo metodologia para la medicion del Kuf (Constante de Ultrafiltracion) in vivo. Los resultados demuestran que existe una caida significativa del Kuf en los 3 modelos estudiados de fibra hueca (Cordis Dow HFK 1.3m2, 1.8m2, 2.5m2) a partir del 2o. uso. Lo que significa un factor de error en los calculos de ultrafiltracion. La medicion del Kuf in vivo durante cada hemodialisis permitiria un calculo mas exacto de la extraccion de liquido. Como lo demuestra el indice de correlacion de (r = 0.97) (p < 0.01) entre la extraccion de liquido programada y la obtenida
