RESUMO

Pefloxacin mesylate is a broad spectrum fluoroquinolone active against pathogens with multiple resistance. Due to its high therapeutic efficacy (at last 90 per cent) and good tolerance pefloxacin mesylate is considered as the most promising drug in the therapy of severe infections and infections difficult for the treatment such as wound infection, meningitis and particularly perilous infections. Prolonged pharmacokinetics and high bioavailability of the drug provided its administration in the treatment of in- and outpatients with severe infection twice a day in a daily dose of 0.8 to 1.2 g. Pefloxacin proved to be a drug of choice in the treatment of infection due to intracellular pathogens.

RESUMO

The examination included 51 women. In 25.5 and 33.3 per cent of them gonorrhea and association of gonorrhea with trichomoniasis, chlamydiosis or ureaplasmosis and in 35.3 and 5.9 per cent chlamydiosis and association of chlamydiosis with trichomoniasis were stated respectively. 56.9 and 17.6 per cent of the women had the mixed infection in the urogenital tract and in extragenital foci respectively. The regimen of the chronic gonorrhea therapy included the use of ciprofloxacin in the initial dose of 500 mg and the subsequent doses of 250 mg every 12 hours, the course dose being 1.25 g. The efficacy of the treatment amounted to 100 per cent. The treatment of the patients with gonorrhea association with ureaplasmosis in a dose of 500 mg administered every 12 hours (the course dose of 5 g) resulted in eradication of ureaplasma in 71.4 per cent of the patients. The efficacy of the chlamydiosis treatment in the course dose of 10 g (500 mg every 12 hours) amounted to 88 per cent.

RESUMO

A complex clinico-laboratory++ examination and treatment were made of 76 women with inflammatory processes in the urogenital tract. Gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, chlamydiosis and Ureaplasma infection were detected in 60, 31.4, 41 and 14 per cent of the cases, respectively. There were affections of the rectum by gonococci, chlamydia, ureaplasmas and Trichomonas in 55, 32, 10.6 and 6.6 per cent of the cases, respectively. The frequency of chlamydia in the oropharynx amounted to 30 per cent whereas gonococci and ureaplasma were less frequent i.e. 9 and 1.2 per cent, respectively. The combination of the above pathogens in the rectum were the following: gonococci and chlamydia (15 per cent of the cases), gonococci, chlamydia and Trichomonas (7.3 per cent), gonococci and ureaplasma (7.3 per cent), ureaplasma and chlamydia (7.8 per cent). In the throat the association of gonococci and chlamydia was detected in 3.7 per cent of the cases. It should be indicated that the signs of sex-transmitted diseases were few, which required careful clinico-laboratory examination of the extragenital foci in the patients with inflammatory urogenital diseases. Ofloxacin showed a high efficacy in the treatment of patients with gonorrhea and ureaplasmosis. Its use in treatment of chlamydiosis proved inexpedient while ciprofloxacin was effective in the treatment of the infection.

RESUMO

A 28-year-old patient is described, suffering from disseminated psoriasis and multiple leiomyomas of the skin. This case is of particular interest because of a rare combination of these two conditions. Leiomyomas in this case were effectively treated by laser exposure.

RESUMO

A patient suffering from this disease is described, who developed it at the age of 30. Besides eruptions, the condition is characterized by central nervous system shifts. A promising effect of laser therapy is of interest in this case.
