Diante da percepção das vivências de idosos em estágio final de câncer crônico-degenerativo, hospitalizados na ala de cuidados paliativos, constata-se que a religiosidade tem-se mostrado útil por se apresentar como fonte de recursos, e facilitar o lidar com problemas, podendo oferecer alívio para as experiências emocionais negativas, que comprometem o bem-estar dos indivíduos nestas condições. Nessa perspectiva, este estudo procura ilustrar a importância de se investigar a manifestação de fenômeno religioso nos indivíduos, de modo a se obter alternativas para a adequada atuação profissional no atendimento ao idoso em contexto das práticas de saúde.AU
In view of the perception regarding the experience of elderly patients in the terminal stage of chronic degenerative cancer, hospitalized at the palliative care ward, it is observed that religiosity has proved to be a useful source of resources. It facilitates dealing with problems, offering relief to negative emotional experiences that endanger the welfare of individuals in this condition. In this perspective, this work aims to illustrate the importance of investigating the manifestation of the religious phenomenon in individuals, so as to obtain alternatives for an adequate professional action concerning care for the elderly in the context of health care practices.
