[The characteristic of biocenosis of urogenital tract in women].

The article deals with the study of characteristics of biocenosis of urogenital tract in women of reproductive age with using of "Femoflor" test. The scrapings of posterolateral wall of vagina were analyzed using the technique of real-time polymerase chain reaction using the reagents "Femoflor". The complex evaluation of urogenital biota identified three main types of biocenosis of vagina: type I--normocenosis (n = 50 or 11.5%): type II--mild dysbiosis (n = 88 or 21%); type III--marked dysbiosis (n = 133 or 30.6%). In the structure of alterations of biocenosis of urogenital tract the main role play the anaerobic bacteria with involvement of candida, ureoplasma and mcoplasma.

[The implementation of polymerase chain reaction technique: the real time to reveal and differentiate the viruses of human papilloma of high carcinogenic risk].

The polymerase chain reaction technique was applied in "real time" format to evaluate the occurrence rate and infection ratio of various genotypes of human papilloma of high carcinogenic risk in virus-positive women and contact persons. The examination sampling consisted of 738 women aged of 17-50 years. The examination results permitted to establish high percentage of infection of 546 patients (74%) by carcinogenic papilloma viruses. The analysis of detection rate of various genotypes of human papilloma of high carcinogenic risk established that the 56th and 16th types of high carcinogenic risk are revealed more often than others--in 33% and 15.4% correspondingly. In males, first place in occurrence rate is for those types of virus of human papilloma: the 56th n = 10 (33.3%), 16th n = 3 (10%), 45th n = 3 (10%), 51th n = 3 (10%). The rest of genotypes are detected in 3-7% cases.

[A comparative analysis of haemodynamics and oxygen transport during xenon and nitrous oxide anaesthesia in endoscopic surgery in gynaecology].

A comparative analysis of haemodynamics and blood gases has been performed in patients during either low-flow anaesthesia with xenon and nitrous oxide and high-flow nitrous oxide anaesthesia. Ninety five patients scheduled for endoscopic surgery were included and divided into three groups: a combined low-flow anaesthesia (30 women), a low-flow nitrous oxide anaesthesia (30 women) and a high-flow nitrous oxide anaesthesia using a semi-closed circuit (35 women). The study has shown a stimulating effect of xenon on haemodynamics during carboxyperitoneum and Trendelenburg position, a better oxygen transport performance and a lower consumption of opioids in this group. Those favourable changes enable the optimization of the oxygen transport in endoscopic surgery in gynaecology, and reduce the contraindications to endoscopic surgery.

[In vitro activity of Russian ribavirin on the models of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus, Rift Valley fever virus, and Tahyna and Dhori viruses].

The high activity of ribavirin made by effective biotechnology in Russia was established in in vitro experiments using the models Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus, Rift Valley fever virus, and Tahyna and Dhori viruses, which suggests that it is promising in using the drug in the treatment of infection with these viruses.

[Perspectives of prevention of postoperative neuropathic pain syndrome in cancer patients].

The paper deals with the anesthesiological problems in the prevention and therapy of neuropathic pain syndrome (NPS), including phantom pain syndrome (PPS) at different stages of surgical treatment in a cancer patient. A prospective study has been conducted; a protocol has been elaborated for the management of patients with preoperative chronic pain syndrome and those at a high risk for NPS after cancer operations associated with damage to nerve structures. A clinical case of successful therapy for severe NPS in a female patient after 4 surgical interventions, including exarticulation of the upper limb, is described. The undertaken prevention of NPS and its treatment policy that is based on the current views of the mechanisms responsible for this type of pain and included, in addition to opioid analgesics, different types of antineuropathic agents, including the recent generation anticonvulsant gabapentin (neurontin), are analyzed and investigated in detail.

The paper outlines a portable device with self-contained power supply, which records with electrodes applied to the skin and subsequently processes electric myosignals from human muscles. The device is designed for the therapy and rehabilitation of patients with some motor diseases via biological feedback. The paper also considers the block diagram and provides the technical data of the device.

Broadband dispersion-compensating fiber for high-bit-rate transmission network use.

The optimum refractive-index profile and drawing temperature were investigated so as to maximize the figure of merit for multicladding broadband dispersion-compensating fibers. Based on the results of the investigation, the authors have fabricated a highly bend-resistant fiber with a 92.6-ps/(nm dB) figure of merit using the modified chemical-vapor deposition method for dispersion compensation in the 1.5-1.6-µm wavelength region. The manufactured dispersion compensator does not suffer bend loss at 1.55 µm for curvatures of radia of 6.3 and 3.3 cm, and it has a 1.1-dB/km bend loss at a curvature of radius of 1.6 cm. Codoping the germanium silicate core with fluorine diminishes the optical loss down to 0.70 dB/km at a 1.55-µm wavelength.

[Clinico-immunologic parallels of patients with circulatory insufficiency]. / Kliniko-immunologicheskie paralleli u bol'nykh s nedostatochnost'iu krovoobrashcheniia.

T cell and lymphocyte subpopulation counts measured by surface markers (T helpers and T suppressors), lymphocyte blast transformation with FHA, IgA, IgM and IgG levels and phagocytosis were evaluated in 45 patients with circulatory insufficiency (CI), including 30 with coronary heart disease (CHD) and 15 with dilatation cardiomyopathy (DCMP). Three patterns of immunologic response were identified: the first one (intact immunity) was found in normal subjects, coronary patients without CI and those with first-stage CI; the second pattern (immune dysfunction) was detected in coronary patients with CI, stage 2A and DCMP patients with CI, stage 2B; the third pattern (immune deficiency) was present in coronary and DCMP patients with CI, stage 2B-3. The extent of immunologic reactivity disturbance is shown to depend on the severity of CI. DCMP was associated with a deficiency of T suppressors that may be useful as an additional diagnostic sign of this condition.

[Effect of aminazin on hydrolase activity of the blood and their excretion by the kidneys]. / Vliianie aminazina na aktivnost' gidrolaz v krovi i ikh vydelenie pochkami.

Chronic experiments in dogs revealed that 0.5 mg/kg of aminasin did not affect the content of pepsinogen, amylase and lipase in the peripheral blood plasma but somewhat increased the variability of the blood pepsinogen and lipase. 2 mg/kg of aminasin decreased the pepsinogen content in the blood; 5 mg/kg decreased the amylase level as well. Aminasin decreased the renal excretion of pepsinogen in direct proportion to its dosage. 5 mg/kg of aminasin decreased the renal excretion of amylase as well, with no considerable effect on the renal excretion of lipase. Aminasin (5 mg/kg) delayed the period of restoration of the blood level of amylase and pepsinogen administered parenterally, and intensified the disenzymemia caused by pepsinogen administration; the renal excretion of enzymes was decreased. The central nervous mechanisms responding to the above doses of aminasin are concluded to play a major role in maintaining the homeostasis of hydrolytic enzymes in the blood.

[Myocardial hypertrophy in stenosing arteriosclerosis of the abdominal aorta]. / Gipertrofiia miokarda u bol'nykh stenoziruiushchim aterosklerozom briushnoi aorty.

In 57 patients with stenosis or occlusion of the terminal segment of abdominal aorta the authors measured the myocardial mass and the end diastolic volume of the left ventricle before the operation and 15-20 days after it (shunting or prosthesis of bifurcation of the abdominal aorta). Prior to operation increase of the myocardial mass of the left ventricle was found in 77.2% of patients. Patients with normal blood pressure had an increase in the myocardial mass at the expense of the thickening of the ventricular wall only, in patients with increased BP there was an increase in the thickness of the ventricular wall and also in the end diastolic volume. After the operation in patients with normal BP myocardial mass of the left ventricle reverted to normal. In patients with high BP the myocardial mass and the end diastolic volume of the left ventricle decreased. Myocardial hypertrophy in the patients studied is due to the increased resistance to blood ejection from the left ventricle caused by stenosis or occlusion of the abdominal aorta.
