[Duplicate principal bile ducts. Two case reports]. / Duplicité de la voie biliaire principale. A propos de deux cas.

The duplicity of the way biliaire main is a rare abnormality. We report two observations revealed by episodes of angiocholite. The degrades cholangiopancreatography endoscopy allowed to wear diagnosis and to practise a therapeutic gesture.

[Detection of hepatitis C virus in the general population of Tunisia]. / Dépistage de l'hépatite virale C dans la population générale en Tunisie.

We searched for antibodies to hepatitis C in a sample of 3079 Tunisians in the suburban area of Tunis. 30 people were positive by ELISA and 22 were confirmed by immunoblotting. This result represents a prevalence of 0.71% which is close to the values reported in European countries of the Mediterranean area.

[Extra-adrenal gland pheochromocytoma. Apropos of 3 cases and review of the literature]. / Le phéochromocytome extrasurrénalien. A propos de trois observations et revue de la littérature.

The authors report three new cases of ectopic pheochromocytoma: latero-aortic, bladder and near the kidney. From the review of the literature, they propose a diagnostic and therapeutic strategy for the management of ectopic localisation of pheochromocytoma.

[Adrenal myelolipoma]. / Le myélolipome surrénalien.

The authors report a case of myelolipoma discovered in a 57 year-old woman by ultrasonography and computed tomography. The tumour was 10 cm in diameter and weighed 350 grams. This case is discussed in the light of a review of the literature.

Hepatitis C core antibody detection in acute hepatitis and cirrhosis patients from Tunisia.

The detection of anti-Hepatitis C virus (HCV) Core antibodies is an important addition to HCV antibody testing. In this study it appears to be more specific than the first generation HCV tests and in combination with the detection of anti-C33c antibodies, it is possibly more sensitive. In Tunisia hepatitis C virus is implicated by the presence of anti-Core antibodies in only 8% of the adult cases of acute hepatitis as opposed to 60% for Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and 4% for Hepatitis A virus (HAV). In contrast to the low prevalence of HCV infection among acute hepatitis cases, HCV infection is implicated in 35% of the cirrhosis cases. These results stress the potential importance of HCV infection in the development of cirrhosis which is a relatively common disease in North Africa.
