[Stereometric model of respiration with diaphragm electrostimulation]. / Stereometricheskaia model dykhaniia pri électrostimuliatsii diafragmy.

A stereometric model of respiration has been proposed, which is based on the approximation of the surface of the chest and that of the diaphragm by the well-known mathematical functions, which generally calculates the value of respiratory volume as a function of geometric parameters such as the circumference of the chest and torso, the distance between the thoracic vertebrae. The derived formulas may be used as a background material for designing the feedback systems by the respiratory volume in order to maximally approach the electrically stimulated respiration to physiological respiration.

[The use of bio-controlled electrostimulation of the respiration in the combined modality treatment of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis]. / Primenenie bioupravliaemoi élektrostimuliatsii dykhaniia v kompleksnom lechenii bol'nykh tuberkulezom legkikh.

Electric respiration stimulation (ERS) synchronized with the onset of spontaneous breathing is more effective than induced one. Introduction of the biocontrolled ERS into the treatment and prevention of respiratory complications in the postoperative period improved the effectiveness of surgical treatment of phthisiopulmonologic patients. The biocontrolled ESR is known to provide favourable results in the multimodality treatment of patients with pneumonia, chronic bronchitis and bronchial asthma.

[Complications and their elimination during the rapid intravenous administration of rifampicin in an experiment]. / Oslozhneniia i ikh ustranenie pri ékspressnom vnutrivennom vvedenii rifampitsina v éksperimente.

Reaction to rapid intravenous administration (RIA) of rifampicin in a dose of 10 mg/kg was studied on 173 healthy dogs. Immediately after the first RIA of rifampicin there were observed vomiting and ataxia of various levels in 5.2 per cent of the animals. After the drug administration their arterial pressure (AP) lowered to 50-60 mm Hg. By the 9th-11th minute it restored to the initial level. A collapse-like condition was recorded immediately after rifampicin RIA in 2.3 per cent of the dogs with marked decreasing of their AP up to 15-20 mm Hg. Its restoration to the initial level was slow and required 35-40 min. It was noted that after the third consecutive RIA of rifampicin the observed reaction disappeared. Probably this was due to adaptation of the host to rifampicin intravenous injections. Mezaton is an efficient agent rapidly arresting the reaction within 1-3 min.

[Medico-technological aspects of the electric stimulation of respiration]. / Mediko-tekhnicheskie aspekty élektricheskoi stimuliatsii dykhaniia.

Clinical results of electric stimulation of respiration in postoperative period by the and respiration electrostimulators are presented in the article. A significant improvement of the function of external respiration and of ventilation of separate lobes of the lungs were observed during the postoperative period after application of these types of stimulators. An experimental research of the influence of different types of pulsed stimulation modulation on the smoothness of inhalation was carried out. A conclusion was drawn about the efficacy of applying in respiratory stimulators of the amplitude/frequency pulse modulation with regulated frequency of impulses that ranged from the "toothed" to the "smoothed" tetanus domain.
