First characterisation of natural radioactivity in building materials manufactured in Albania.

This study focuses on the radiological characterisation of building materials manufactured in Albania by using a high-resolution gamma-ray spectrometer. The average activity concentrations of (40)K, (226)Ra and (232)Th were, respectively, 644.1±64.2, 33.4 ± 6.4 and 42.2 ± 7.6 Bq kg(-1) in the clay brick samples and 179.7 ± 48.9, 55.0 ± 5.8 and 17.0 ± 3.3 Bq kg(-1) in the cement samples. The calculated activity concentration index (ACI), varied from 0.48±0.02 to 0.63±0.04 in the clay brick samples and from 0.29±0.03 to 0.37±0.02 in the cement samples. Based on the ACI, all of the clay brick and cement samples were categorised as A1 materials. The authors can exclude (at 3σ level) any restriction of their use as bulk materials.

[Spontaneous rupture of the upper urinary tract in a pregnant woman. Apport de l'échographie et de la tomodensitométrie dans le diagnostic et le traitement.

We report the eighteenth case of spontaneous rupture of the upper urinary tract in a pregnant woman (age = 24 years, term = 28 weeks). Sonography showed an anechogenic collection in the left perirenal area. Computed tomography confirmed the diagnosis of rupture. No cause could be determined due to the lack of an urography in post-partum. The first treatment was a double echo-guided percutaneous drainage. The pregnancy was completed to term with normal vaginal delivery of a live infant. Sonography showed complete cure.

[Aggressive angiomyxoma of the perineum and pelvis. A report of two cases with pelvic and para-testicular localization]. / Angiomyxome agressif périnéo-pelvien. A propos de deux observations de localisation pelvienne et paratesticulaire.

Two cases of aggressive angiomyxoma of the pelvis and perineum are described; the first occurred in 32 year old woman who had a vulvar mass, the second in a 78 year old man who presented inguinal hernia. This recently described entity is characterized by its microscopic appearance (low cellularity, loose myxoid stroma and prominent vascular component), and propensity to local aggressivity, and common recurrence after surgery.

[Crohn's disease with isolated vulvar localization and pregnancy. A case report]. / Maladie de Crohn à localisation vulvaire isolée et grossesse. A propos d'un cas.

Extra-intestinal manifestations of Crohn's disease are well described. A very uncommon gynaecologic manifestation of this disease is vulvar involvement. Till now, sixteen cases have been reported in the literature. We report a case of a pregnant woman with isolated vulvar involvement, without bowel manifestations. The diagnosis have been clinically uncertain, but the histopathology goes with Crohn's disease. Discussion point out the difficulties in diagnosis and management of this vulvar condition, and of its association with pregnancy.

The pubertary uterine hemorrhage are always fonctionels. 63 cases were observed in three years. The importance of the hemorrhage is responsible in 17.4% of the hospitalisations. The etiology was searched in all cases. The hormonal treatment is prescribed in the first intention in 58.7% of cases.
